I finally did it. I jumped ship from Blogger to Wordpress. And it's been such a good move, I wish I'd done it sooner! I like it so much in fact, that I'm using Wordpress for my whole site! Much leaner and cleaner. More control for me, because the whole code is available to customize. So it's prettier, too! And it has better navigation options for you. It's the best of all worlds:)

Click the link below to go directly to the new location, and remember to update your bookmarks or feed subscriptions to the new blog. All my old posts have been imported into the new site, so don't waste time looking around this old dusty blogspot.

Laci and David's Engagement Portraits

Laci and David are High School Sweethearts and we had so much fun with their engagement session at Lake Walcott. Well, Laci and I did anyway and David was a good sport. It was a beautiful day and they're just so cute together! They'll be married in the Bountiful Temple in Utah next month.

McKayla was born 6 weeks before these pictures were taken, and she was 4 weeks premature. Does that make her 2 weeks old? Or 6 weeks? Whatever age she is, she's a precious doll! And this little girl so happens to not like her picture taken. She never cried, but she fussed and squirmed until Mom and Grandma took her for a car ride. That put her into a blissful slumber and then it was like playing with a doll! You can tell we had fun with her:)

Amy and Josh's Wedding Day

Amy and Josh were married on a beautiful day at the White House in Twin Falls. I can tell these two are going to have a fun marriage because they can laugh when things go wrong. Josh's wedding ring was no where to be found when it was time for the ring exchange, and there was laughter! The officiant took his ring off and handed it to Amy, but it didn't fit on Josh's finger. I'm telling you there were some great photo ops during that fiasco! Fortunately it appeared before the ceremony was over:) Fun memories.

If Shane had a list of things he'd rather do than get his senior portraits taken, it was a long list! He was a good sport though and suffered through. I'm sure I was having the most fun:) Shane comes from a wonderful family whom I just love, and I can tell you they are all this photogenic!

Whoohoo! A military wedding. I loved it! Swords, uniforms, totally cool. Chad is in the Navy and was stationed in Texas, but came home to Idaho for a beautiful ceremony and reception in Twin Falls. They were married at St. Edwards and had their reception at the Ballroom. The blue T-Bird convertible belongs to Stacie's mom. Sweet!

Casey is one of those walking miracles that the world is a better place because of. He was nearly killed in a recreational accident not very many years ago and had a very slim chance of surviving. But here he is! His smile is contagious and his sense of humor is hilarious. Getting a serious expression from him was almost impossible. I laughed plenty, as did his entourage that were with us:)

I'm pretty far behind now, but I'll catch up eventually. Here's some pics from when it was hot outside! As I write this, there is a bitter cold wind blowing outside and a fire burning in the wood stove. So, I thought I'd post some warm summery pics. Lindsey was home from school for the weekend and she had a new summer dress, sun hat, and a sunflower. She loves hats, summer dresses, and sunflowers, and she was up for a photo shoot! I was amazed and grabbed the opportunity of not having to twist her arm. The light was harsh August 3PM sun, but we had fun! These were taken in the field behind our house and she was standing on a ton bale of straw. Next up will be Kelsey and Josh's wedding pics along with their wedding day video which I have a small cameo in!

Kelsey & Josh Pre-Wedding Shoot

Since Kelsey and Josh wanted some great couple pictures and time would be limited on their wedding day, they decided to do a pre-wedding shoot so we could take our time AND take advantage of that beautiful late afternoon light. It was so worth it! We had lots of fun and there are SO many great places to shoot there on and around Temple Square. In case you're wondering about the scenes where Josh is lifting Kelsey in the air, these two are dancers on the BYU-I dance team and they are amazing! If you've ever seen them perform, you know what I'm talking about. They also wanted some video and hired Denver Riddle from HD Wedding Events and it was so fun working alongside him. I've posted a few of my favorite shots from this session and at the end is the video that Denver shot from this day that was shown at their reception the following evening. Be sure to watch it because it is totally awesome! And I'll be posting their wedding day pics soon:)

Now that Kelsey and Josh are happily married, I can post Kelsey's bridals! I just love bridal sessions and this one was just so fun. We did them at the secret garden place which is just the greatest place for bridals. Nadine, Kelsey's mom, was there to help and she ended up being a great off camera lighting assistant when the daylight was gone early thanks to some dark clouds. But what a great backdrop they made! Kelsey and Josh had an awesome wedding and I'll blog some of those pics soon...they're so cute together!

Well hello my wonderful blog readers! You've probably seen their engagement portraits, and certainly Megan's bridals I posted not too long ago, now here are their wedding pictures! Megan and Dana had a beautiful wedding and reception in their awesomely fun backyard on the Snake River. These two are such nice people and have been a total pleasure to work with. Mandy and Cody were married in Cody's parent's back yard in Twin Falls. They had this huge tent set up which was nice shade from the hot sun that day. Everything was beautiful and everyone had a good time. I've really enjoyed working with these two and getting to know them. What a nice couple! These are my dog Calamity's nieces and nephews:) Aren't they too cute? (You can click on the pic of the 8 puppies together to view it larger if you want.) They just turned 5 weeks old and I've been waiting for them to get to this adorable age for their puppy portraits. They're purebred Australian Shepherds with excellent bloodlines. Ron and Jeni Shurtz live on a cattle ranch and they raise and work with these beautiful dogs. If you don't know much about Australian Shepherds, I can tell you they are amazing dogs, and super smart. Yellowstone

Jim and I just got home from Yellowstone which is one of our favorite places on earth! The buffalo are kind of funny the way they block traffic. They seem to like following the yellow line while traffic backs up in both directions. It happened more than once this trip:) The one where the buffalo is looking right at me came right to the car, walked around it, then headed straight down the road. Old Faithful's always a must have shot, even though it's been taken a zillion times. We also saw lots of elk, bald eagles, and even a wolf through the binoculars (too far away for the lens I had on), but no moose or bears this time. Oh, well. Maybe next year:) Now I'm back to work!

Dean Cameron, who is the incumbent Senator for this district, needed some family portraits for some of his campaign material. Getting his family's schedule and mine together for one day was quite the feat, but it finally worked out! Their little granddaughter was adorable and I loved her flower head band:) It doesn't seem like very long ago I did her mother's senior portraits...time sure does fly... Anyhow, keep an eye out for some of these portraits in your mailbox if you live on this side of the river. And remember, vote for Dean!

Kacee & Dallas

And here's some of my favorites from Kacee and Dallas's wedding! They were married in Dillon, Montana which is where Kacee is from. She and Dallas met at the University of Montana Western, which is where we did their formal pictures. The campus is so beautiful! After their church ceremony, the whole bridal party rode in a horse drawn wagon to the reception center which was a huge building transformed into a beautiful reception area. It was a great day and I really enjoyed working with Kacee and Dallas.
