In two days time, I will be on a plane to another travel destination. Since I started my travel journey, I discovered that I am becoming a more interesting person. I used to be a timid and" never start any conversation unless I have to" kind of a person. Anyway since I left home to pursue my study in the peninsular and the travels all around the globe, I have more things to say or talk about to friends and even strangers. I think travels open ones mind and soul. Life is more interesting when you travel. I need to start packing tomorrow as I don't want to leave anything behind. We have been to Bangkok in 2006 but it's a big city and everything is available. This time we are heading to Krabi. I have been busy with work so hubby has done all the search about the place. I guess this time I will just follow him. I just need to make sure I ll pack all the necessities like supplement, some medicine. I have just found out we can actually buy cheap supplements online in case we forget to pack it during our travel. Everything is cheap including glucosamine which I may have to take if I have problem with my my knee due to heavy walking. Remember friends cheap supplements is available easily nowadays. I am also in search for one or two books to read during this vacation, I noticed that I can only concentrate reading books especially the thick ones during travels. I just cant concentrate reading them now as I am busy looking after my two kids after work. Well, I guess I am ready to have one of the best holiday again.

After reading the title about Horse Insurance, some of you may think I want to buy a horse. Hey, not at this moment. Well, It's the weekend, a time to rest, a time to shop, a time to spend time with family and many more. I always look forward to weekends as this is the time I can bring my kids to my parents house. The little boy loves to be carried by my mom. Every time he sees her, he will lift his hand up, indicating to her that he wants to be carried. He is now crawling and soon he will start walking. Yes, time flies real fast. I am spending more time with the first as now she is learning a lot of things. I brought her to 1 Borneo last Friday. We spent time choosing a sandal for me. I noticed that she can hold a good conversation. She asked me question like " What colour do you like mom", She even said, " I think this is nicer" pointing to a different type of sandal. I am quite impress. When she is much older, probably 4 years old I wish to bring her to go for a horse ride. I have this small dream of riding a horse along the beach and up to this age, I have yet to fulfill this dream. I am not sure of any company operating a horse riding service around but I hope they have purchase a horse insurance as horse riding is still quite new for some. Who knows one can injure their horses? ( Smile). I was just wondering how much a horse and pony insurance cost. Anyway, daughter is calling me, she must have just woken from her sleep after our visit to the library this morning. Talking about library, I found a lot of interesting book at the Penampang library. This I will share in my next post.Meanwhile let me dream about my next horse purchase.

Have you ever wonder why some people like cat and some adore dogs? Do you think there is a difference in personality of these two as we know dogs and cats are different and they like to fight?

I want to share a view from a cat lover " I'm a cat person, and how I am, they fit my personality. I tend to keep to myself, and open myself to my family and very close friends. I'm also independent, I tend to do things on my own a lot.

My sister is a dog person, she's a very out going person and loves to be with people. She is also dependent and needy at times. Dogs whine and beg with no shame, I think it's kinda like her.

Another view-

Cat people are more calm and reserved. those who like cats tend to be on the shy side.

Dog people are more outgoing and energetic. But they are also probably a messy person. ( This makes me smile)

Do you agree with those two views? Both hubby and myself are dog lovers however all those trait apply to both of us. Or are we a mix of those two? I am not sure and plan to find our further. Anyway, if you one of those who love either dog or cat, have you or will you consider buying a pet insurance? Do you know that you can actually purchase a dog insurance or cat insurance? Lifetime pet insurance normally cover provides ongoing protection for pets. It is ideal for owners who are concerned about their dog or cat developing a long term, chronic or recurring illness. With the skyrocketing price of medicine, I am sure pet lovers will consider buying one for their pet. The last visit to our vet cost is RM60 just for medicine alone. This idea may be new here in Malaysia but soon this option may be available in the future. I have seen more animal clinics in town compared to five years ago and I have also noticed there are more pet shows organised in the recent years. I think buying a pet insurance will be one of the must in a pet calendar just like their clinic visit.

Most who follow my blog knows that I love to travel and I do make it a point to travel overseas once in 2 years. So, after my last overseas travel to perth in october 2009, it's the time to travel again. This year we will be celebrating our 7th years anniversary and to celebrate we are going to Krabi Thailand!! The last time we travelled together was to India in 2005. After 2 kids, mommy and daddy need to be alone to decide if there will be baby no 3 ( lol) Just a month after that it will be my Manila shopping spree. I just cant wait. It's good to have more budget airlines as it makes it easier for people to travel. Till then, work will be hectic but Im not going to complain. :-)

It's been more than a month since I last updated my blog. Talk about how time flies. It has been a super duper busy life for me since I started working last december. The good thing is I don't think too much about the date, what I know is I am living my life one day at a time. Not too worry to much about tomorrow, do what I can do today and learned from my past. At the moment I am living my life to the fullest doing what I like to do- hobby wise :-). Well, it took me almost a year to finally set up, designing and producing my line of products with the label deanadesign. I almost could not believe I managed to do this as in the beginning of 2010 I have put up in my list of dream.vision or 2010 and one of them is to own an online store. I never thought this could happen as at that time I was clueless of what kind of store and what product to sell. I've read long time ago that we must do something that we like and not just doing what others are doing. Yes, since designing is my passion, I went into this line and started to produce practical handmade products. I hope people will enjoy using them as much as I do. To those , (you know who you are, )who has been supporting me and what ever I do, thank you very much, Have a look and shop for your love ones. The shop is not 100% completed but I will work on that slowly but surely.Enjoy deanadesign ya..

Sayonara 2010 and Welcome 2011

2011, another new year for most of us alive- Thank God to that

I have listed my 9 resolutions before 31st December 2010..but again something happened that made me re-think of that list. After 2nd January 2011, I have added another 9 small but meaningful resolutions. 2011 will see me with at least 18th resolutions ( I may add another 2 to make it a 20 yay!!!). That is a lot but it's just simple, short resolutions that I made for myself and my family - more of health and family. It's Sona who actually made me realise that simple things that is stroking her hair, touching her face that made her happy, it s not beautiful and branded dresses that I bought for her. I will make sure I will spend quality time with her and her brother everyday. Just 2 days ago while hubby and I were checking our fb and browsing the net that she came between us with her own toy laptop. Both hubby and I laugh out loud and she suddenly feels a bit shocked and started to cry. It's really funny but it leaves an impact to me and made me re think of my life in a different angle. Therefore from now on, I will only be online or with my laptop when both my kids are asleep. While they are awake, my full attention will be for them. Unless I am showing them things on the laptop or skyping my sister in the state will I have my computer on. There will be less of me on FB- I wont delete my account as I still will use FB to connect with friends and family especially my sister but I will control time that I spent on FB or online. This is my personal opinion that I have spent lots of time online and it's time to cut it down. I will write more on blogs if you are still interested to read or since this is my so called journal, it's for me to read after all.

I have achieved 80% of my resolutions in 2010 and I believe dreams are the one that drives me. I need to dream to live in this world otherwise I will feel empty and live without any purpose in life. I have set myself a higher goals this year and I am praying that I can achieve them. The greatest achievement/ gift I had in 2010 is of course a safe pregnancy and a successful delivery of my handsome prince Dhanesh. There is no greater joy than having a healthy baby Sayonara 2010 and welcome 2011.God bless us in 2011.

Today is the last day of my 5 months break. To tell you the truth I just cant believe that five months have passed me by just like five weeks. Please don't count the first month of confinement. The time spent was just to recover from the pain of labour and to breastfeed and care for a new born. The four months were filled with so many activities.Besides looking after Sona and Dhanesh I have reopen my cake business or blog which has been dormant during my pregnancy, I have also held few cupcake baking and decorating classes, made new products for friend's e-stores as well as for myself. I had fun getting to know more baking friends and spending time or lunch with friends whom I know while shopping online for my then newborn, Sona. In a nut shell, It was fun and fulfilling break. I am not sure if I can ever take a long leave like this in the future unless I 'll have another addition in the family ( wink).It's the end of 2010 and it's time to recollect all memories, achievement and be thankful for the good year given to me. I need some engineering jobs

We are back from our ten days holidays in KL, Seremban and Port Dickson. It was a wonderful holidays and we brought back 60 kg worth of things back home. That is a whole lots of things brought back from only a ten days holidays. We have spent lots of money buying clothing for the kids and get some working cloths for myself. It's time to go back to work and I need new cloths to give me the excitement to go back to office. To be honest I am not that excited to go back to work, I have mixed feeling about it. I texted my colleague yesterday about a particular things that i wanted her to handle when i am away, she told me that she still working on it, she added that she cant wait for me to come back as taking care of my labs are really tiring. She need to get people to do some engineering jobs and also a chemist to do some application work. It's not easy to operate an equipment without the two experts. The job could be done earlier is the engineer that came earlier can do his job. He quits and this is giving us trouble in getting a new replacement. If there is an easy place to recruit like engineering recruitment, things would be easier. I doubt she will be able to handle it before I report for duty. I can see more problems coming next month but I don't want to think too much about it yet. Let her look for people to do the engineering jobs while I enjoy my last month of my unpaid leave. Talking about my unpaid leave. I am happy that I managed to get approval for this leaves. I enjoyed every day of my leaves and have spent quality times with my DH and DS. I will miss the time spent with them for sure but I need to get back to work as well. The year is coming to an end and it's time to recap what have we done with our life the past one year. Are you happy? Are you satisfied? I am and I look forward to 2011 with hope for good life and good health for myself and my kids, that matter most to me.

Yes, It's the time of the year when we will have our holidays in KL. Normally we will depart just two days before Depavali celebration but since I am still on leave and DH has a seminar cum talk in KL, we depart one week earlier. It is a good decision to go early as we wont be rushed into buying cloths for the kids and ourselves. We are having so much fun despite the difficulty travelling with two kids, a toddler who doesn't really like to sit on a stroller and a four month old who is constantly feeding. This is our third day here and we has spent half of the day doing our first round of shopping. There are lots of break, to feed and clean the children but we will manage. Tomorrow we will be looking for our IT Network Support who is my DH brother to fix my laptop which fail to function since two weeks ago. I wish IT support Services that charge a reasonable fee is easily available in Kota Kinabalu.I hope it can be fixed this week as it is quite hard to live without a computer now. I normally use it for work purpose as well as personal. Sona uses it to skype with her dad and mama faye. So I am crossing my fingers that no major problem will be detected from the laptop.In this fast moving life an IT support services is crucial to attend to any problem face by computer user as communication is vital is ones life. One I can get my laptop fixed, I can enjoy the holiday better. Happy Depavali to those celebrating, to the rest, enjoy the public holiday!

When people say time flies very fast, I couldn't agree more..It does fly like rockets. It is end of October and that means we are only left with November and December for 2010. Soon, it's time to wrap the accomplishment for 2010 and gearing towards making a better 2011. I love my 2010 as I have accomplished much more than I have expected. But I will not blog about resolutions now, it is for next year. I am looking forward to Friday as we are flying to KL and Seremban. The only time I can rest, apart from looking after two kids, is when I am away from home. I need this break as I have work quite hard since I give birth. Weight Wise, I just need to loose 3 kg to go back to pre pregnancy shape without taking any pills and without going to the gym ( smile). By the time I started to work, I hope I can still use my working outfits ( grin).I also know some people are trying to conceive this year, all the best I sincerely hope this year is your year too. 'Market vi sit' with my darling teaching her what can we get from the wet market

About 2 years ago I attended a full moon party. While talking to my cousin who is of course the mother of a new baby, she said these words " I cant wait to go back to work, 2 months leave is too long,I pity those suri rumah ( house wives).."I was quite shocked to hear that. I thought 2 months is not that long and not all suri rumah or I like it when u call them SAHM ( stay at home mom) hates being at home. I believe many mommies out there loves being at home, looking after their kids.And some mommies stay at home did it by choice,for the loves of their kids. If you ask me, I think it's a big sacrifice. What say you ladies?

Recently, the government announced that the maternity leaves is extended to 3 months. I know not all women out there is happy. with the announcement. Well, happy or not it all depend on the individuals. I extended my maternity leaves for another 3 months, unpaid of course. If people asked me why, I told them I want to breastfeed without any interruption from office duties. I hate to write letters to my superior asking for permission not to attend any courser,meetings away from home. Apart from that I want to have a feel of being a "suri rumah"... It's been more than 3 months mow and my verdict? I am enjoying every bit of my suri rumah experiences. I managed to pursue my new interest in sewing, I managed to conduct few cupcake baking and decorating classes and the most important things is I manage to spend time with my darlings day and night. The time I spend with them, the feeling of seeing them grow in front of your eyes.It's priceless.

Being a SAHM is always on my mind and whatever I put something on my wants.dreams list, I normally get it. I know one day I 'll be SAHM .So, my dear cousin, if one day I choose to stay at home and become a suri rumah, please don't pity me as I am beginning to like the life I'm having now

Resolution and Dreams

I did a resolution ealier this year and normally, I will review it in the middle of the year. But this time I am a bit late in reviewing my list of resolutions/dreams/ things to be done in 2010 or whatever you call it. I was a bit surprised when I noticed I am about to get two of my dreams next month. November is sure a good month..yea..Wait and see. and again I believe in dreams and seeing them coming true is wonderful. Un Paid Leave

hahaha..this is the first time I took a long leave- unpaid...

I have been dreaming of staying home or being a SAHM mom for a long time. A chance of a lifetime actually appeared in February. DH was offered ( the offer is still open) a job with a private sector. The only drawbacks are we have to move to the place and for DH it's a job where you will work round the clock. It offers a handsome pay, more than enough for me to be jobless. We spent few days discussing and even went and see the place. The hospital where DH is supposed to work look more like a 5 star hotel. It's double the size of SMC. In short ,it is a wonderful hospital. We were thorn between the love of Sabah and the people and the great life we have here with the new life we gonna have there. That was the time where we were torn between two lovers- money or time. Lots of money but no time or less money but more time? What will you choose if given the option?

It was a very difficult decision. God do answers prayer. Before DH give a final YES to the new workplace, DH received a promotion. I am not very sure if we made the right decision to stay in Sabah and still work for the goverment.. I was not able to be jobless at this moment but I think what we have now is enough to make me content. I still go for balance in life. Of course I want money but I also want DH to spend his time with his growing children. They need him more at this tender age.And that is when I realised I cant really be a SAHM.I cant stay at home doing nothing, I think I'll be a WAHM instead of a SAHM.

I am currently staying at home looking after my almost 3 months old baby. There are times I feel bored so I think I still want to be out there working for a while until I can really find something that I enjoy doing and willing to stay home to do it fulltime-am working on that.

Hey, do not be alarmed with the title of my post tonight. I am sure most of you think that Forensic accountant must have something to do with CSI, which is one of my favourite TV series.Forensic science is indeed an interesting field. I work in a laboratory but too bad it's not a forensic laboratory but an agriculture base laboratory. We deal with the plants, fertilisers and soils. It's interesting but not as interesting as a forensic laboratory as we normally see in a crime laboratories.I am glad that my three months unpaid leaves is approved. I have not receive the letter yet but according to the person in charge, it should not be a problem. I can continue with my leave. With the addition of three months, I basically have five months of so called maternity leaves. I am planning to make full use of my leaves. Not only that I have started baking, I've also tried new recipes of cakes. Apart from that I plan to design and add more items to my sewing page in facebook. I just love being at home with my kids. The feeling of being able to wake up without the alarm and not rushing is just wonderful. Seeing my boy Dhanesh grows everyday is priceless. I know three months is not long but it's all I have and I will do as many things with Sona and spend time with Dhanesh.I wish my business will expand and I am able to stop working when i reach 45. I hope my dream will become a reality. Therefore I may need service from forensic accounting expert if my business really expands. I just need to be focused and continue to work diligently on the things that interest me. There is no need for me to work hard and dream to be a forensic accountant or forensic chemist in the future.I am sure these three months will be one of the best months in my life.

It's 1st september?- how time flies. just 2 months ago i gave birth to my prince dastan- ops..prince Dhanesh and he is now a day to 2 months old. He weigh 6.7kg last week and about 60 cm tall. He is such a big baby that he cant even fit a baby pouch that i bought for sona. This is the reason why I made the sling above. I have 3 slings which i wear according to my outfit hahaha..J.S, F.R..baby wearing is fun! Whenever I'm out with Dhanesh ( I like to bring him out as it is easy to carry him in the sling) I can see people looking at us. I am 90 % sure that they are admiring the sling. Unlike in KL, Not many people babywear here in KK so you still attracts attention. Twice I was asked where I bought the slings. I've also made this one ( the white & pink )and it's available for those who loves pink.

Never intended to write about sling ( his size led to this post..haha) I am suppose to write about Dhanesh 1st vacation but will write again later, he is calling for his milk..

Dilemma

Time flies very fast. Most people said and I can't agree more. It feels like it was just yesterday when I carried Dhanesh in my big fat belly. Today, the tummy is almost gone and he is almost two months old. I like staying at home and this is the biggest dilemma of a working mother. Seeing your newborn will always give these feelings of wanting to stay home. Some brave mom did take the plunge and left a high paying job to stay at home. Too bad, I still don't have the courage to do that. May be because I still want to have my own money, the freedom to buy anything I want with my own money. I must admint I cant stand staying at home for very long without doing anything.Therefore I have started baking again,check my cake blog and I sew too..haha

Choosing the right school

I am happy today. We are heading for a short family break at a resort just a few minutes away from home. We just want to bring Sona to have fun in the pool and to spend time at the beach. As for me, I just need some time away from home. Since we have a new addition, Sona changed in her behaviour. She behaves like a baby all over again. She wants more attention, nurse more than four times a day and wants to get me involves in everything she does. At first I was worried, but after some readings and information from friends, I found out that the behaviour is normal. She feels insecure seeing her mum spend more time with the new baby than her.She need some distraction. Therefore we have been thinking of sending her to school. She needs to fill up her time doing something and going to school may gives her more activities to do not forgetting she will have new friends as well. The journey of finding the right place to send her should begins soon. I have been to a boarding school since I was twelve and sending a child to her first school marks an important journey in her life. We have been talking to her about the idea so that she will not feel that we are sending her away because we dont love her. Kids can be very sensitive with certain issue. She even wants me to follow her to school. I just hope we'll find a good school for her and she will enjoy it. I may start to look at few places nearby and doing some research of those places. Mummies out there, and advice to share?

New Addition

A new addition to our small family, Dhanesh Evan born 4.2kg and 53 cm tall ( lenght) on the 2nd July 2010. It's a joy to have him in the family. It has been a month plus and I am enjoying every bit of his company. It's really hard to go back to work when you have a new baby in your arm. I just feel like you want to be with him every hour of the day. It's tiring, no doubt but I quote what quirin wrote in the blog

"A baby will make love stronger, days shorter, nights longer, bank balance smaller, home happier, clothes dirty, the past forgotten, and the future worth living for.

The days indeed are shorter when you are enjoying every moment of it. Babies are definitely made you forget the past, the pain, the problem and make you look forward to the future, spending every breath you have with them.

Excited but Nervous

Excited and nervous, yes that is my feeling since yesterday. I am excited that i know the day i'll be seeing my baby but at the same time I am also nervous to go through the whole birth experience again. The first time, I dont really know much so it's kind of I just went with the flow. The second time around, it's different as I have experienced the pain, the waiting process, the epidural, everything. It's painful, nobody can deny the agony of labour and different birth will not be the same- that is what I heard so I think I just need to pray for a smooth delivery.

Meanwhile I have spent time making some keyrings and even cloth wipes. It was a good experience to be able to use my own two hands to create things.Just visit my fb page at the corner of this blog. I'll be taking a month break from sewing to rest and of course getting to know the new addition in the family. I plan to take longer leave from work if my boss permits. With the lack of manpower in the office, it's very unlikely that she will approve my leave but I will try. I still bring my work home and still working at home...sigh.

Well, in between I managed to make few clutches and wetbags- some of them I didnt even manage to take photos, my friends grabbed them as soon as they see the fabrics..in the end I cant even have one for myself..Will make afte rmy confinement. It's a good therapy for me.

I have been staying at home for two days now. I tried to rest and just spend time playing with Sona and watch TV but I guess I am not the homey type. I feel restless. So I made more keyring and cut some fabrics to make wetbags. I have lots of fabric and I have been trying very hard not to shop for more. Baby is breech this week and I was quite tempted to go easy labour in the operation room but DH said we wait for another week. If he is still on in his position next week and my glucose level is high, we will see him next week. Meanwhile, I can still watch TV and eat whatever I want..yea..

I am happy today. I have started my leave. Of course I still have work to do but since I have my computer at home and I have the internet why bother going to office? I have a dateline to submit two reports today and I am doing it now, yes at the comfort of my home. Another good news, two of our major meeting has been postponed. So, I’ll take my time preparing the reports. Remember my wish to get cheap supplements ? I was also trying to get more information about whey protein. I have just completed a series of blood test yesterday to check my glucose level and I am happy to shout that it’s normal. I just have to continue with my normal diet and I have found a site which I can get my cheap supplements. The whey protein, I think I’ll get it when I’ve started my gym routine again. Have a nice day friends, I am sure I will have as I have another two weeks before this active boy of mine to make a grand entrance to this world and give me sleepless night. Meanwhile, I can continue designing new clutches or wallets. Right now, I am making some wet bags.

I have been trying to lessen my intake of carbohydrate. The reasons, I have gained a lot of weight and I am afraid of giving birth to a huge baby. Imagine if I have a bigger baby and have to deliver him naturally. To reduce the chance of oversize baby, I took a lot of fruits everyday. I will eat at least one banana and one apple a day. Little did I know that this will increase the glucose in my blood? I went for a check up twice and true enough, I have high level of glucose in my body. If I can’t take lots of carbohydrate and sugar, the only thing that I know that can replace them is protein. I am changing my diet again to fish. I hope this will work and not too late as I am already into my 38th weeks of pregnancy. Baby is already weighing 34.4kg and he can come out anytime soon. Talking about protein, what do you know about whey protein? Are they normal protein? What do you know about whey protein? What I know is that whey protein is better than soy protein. But can pregnant ladies take whey protein? Anyone has any idea?

I Need Some Cheap Supplements

I am sure some of you know that I have been busy with my sewing projects. It took my mind off from thinking too much about my weight gain during this pregnancy. I have gained quite a lot of weight and I may need some cheap supplements to control my weight. Well, taking about sewing, this is something I have just started during this pregnancy. It was really beyond my wildest imagination that I will be hooked with the sewing machine and able to sew a few stuffs. I made some just for myself and as gifts to friends and family. To my surprise, I received few nice reviews and I have started to get orders through friend’s recommendation and of course through my facebook’s page. As my energy is depleting during this third trimester of pregnancy, I need to get some supplements to get me on the go. I hope those supplements can help me get some extra energy. I have not bought supplements for quite sometimes as it’s hard to get cheap supplements that really works. May be I'll check one cheap supplements site that was recommended by my friend and get something from it.
