Terrorist Attack Fallout: Trump To Stop US Diversity Visa Lottery

Following yesterdays terror attack in lower Manhattan New York President Trump launched a new campaign against the US Diversity Visa Lottery program.

The Diversity Visa Lottery program is an immigration program prepared by Congress and signed into law by the George H. W Bush administration in 1990. The bill offers immigration options to 55,000 immigrants from countries who sent less immigrants to the united states in preceding five years.

The bill was sponsored by Sen. Ted Kennedy, D-Massachusetts, and co-sponsored by Sen. Al D'Amato, R-New York whom Sen, Schumer later defeated. Schumer voted in favor of the legislation.

President Trump prefers merit based system. Not a “chain migration system” as he described it, like the diversity program that enabled the attacker to enter the country and also bring in 23 more people from his native Uzbekistan.

In a midday press briefing at the White House today, President Trump said “We have to get much tougher, we have to get more smarter and we have to get less politically correct.” while referring to the suspect as “Animal” . He also called the US justice system a ‘Joke” a laughing stock.

In an early morning tweet. Mr. President squarely blamed Democratic Congressman Chuck Schumer for initiating the program that brought in the attacker.

Schumer responded in a statement that The President should not over politicize the incident and should focus on leading the nation. He also accuse the trump administration of trying to cut down on the Federal anti-terrorism budget.

“I have always believed and continue to believe that immigration is good for America," the Senate New York (D) minority leader said.

"President Trump, instead of politicizing and dividing America, which he always seems to do at times of national tragedy, should be focusing on the real solution — anti-terrorism funding — which he proposed cutting in his most recent budget." he continued.

New York Gov Cuomo said “suspect is radicalized domestically” not agreeing with Donald Trump.

The alleged terrorist is a 29, year-old man; Sayfullo Habibullaevic Saipov, from Uzbekistan. Using a rented Home Depot truck he plowed through a busy bike path yesterday afternoon in lower Manhattan killing 8 people and injuring another 11. Border Control confirmed he entered the country in 2010 via the Diversity Visa Lottery program.

CNN analysts worry that Trump’s speech today shows that the President does not clearly under how the DV lottery scheme works. He fails to realize that the lottery winners also undergo extensive security protocols as any other US visa applicant.

They found it difficult to understand why Trump would so much focus on immigration related to the New York incident and do less about gun laws related to recent LA shooting where 58 Americans where gunned down and over 500 hurt by a single man using a semi-automatic gun fitted with “Bump Stocks”

The 2018 US diversity visa lottery commenced Oct 1. The program is deemed pretty intense, equipped stringent measures ensure that only people native to eligible countries can apply.

This year the under listed countries are exempted because they have more than 50,000 native born individuals who has immigrated to the US in the last five years; "Bangladesh, Brazil, Canada, China (mainland-born), Colombia, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Haiti, India, Jamaica, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, South Korea, United Kingdom (except Northern Ireland) and its dependent territories, and Vietnam."

8 Die in New York Deadly Terror Attack

Man drives a rented truck into pedestrians and bikers on a bike path 3:05 p.m on the West Side Highway, lower Manhattan, New York. He drove south for nearly a mile, mowing down cyclists and pedestrians. The location is a few blocks from the One World Trade Center. Eight individuals lay dead after the attack and a dozen wounded, some of them critically.

Sayfullo Habibullaevic, Saipov, 29 has been confirmed by the police as the suspect. A note found in the truck mentioned he did it for ISIS.

He had entered the bike path at Houston street just as school kids were turning out from school. He lost control at Chambers street. He probably, deliberately collided with a school bus conveying disabled children as he left the bike path. Two of the Children were injured in the collision.

Saipov shouted Allahu Akhbar after exiting the rented truck which was immobilized by the crash with the school bus. He brandished fake guns; a pallet gun and a paintball gun as he got down from the Home Depot rented truck.

A uniform policeman confronted the attacker and shot him in the abdomen. He was arrested and is receiving treatment for gunshot wound in hospital.

Six of his victims died at the scene, another two were pronounced dead at the hospital. Among the dead are one Belgian and five Argentines, former classmates, holidaying in New York.

Vehicle attacks is relatively a new tactics by terrorists. It has been used over 50 times in Israel alone. Such attacks has been carried out in Spain, Italy. Germany and twice in London this year.

Injured Woman Is Cared For By Responders

Saipov first came into the country in 2010 via Florida from his native country Uzbekistan, a former republic of the Soviet Union.. He has Green Card and is a licensed truck driver. His drivers license shows he lives in Tampa Florida and some time lived in Ohio. His record also shows he has had minor traffic offences.

Feds are working New jersey Home Depot rental where he rented the truck. Investigators gathered he rented the truck 2 P.M today and drove straight to Manhattan. He is believed to be currently related to a New Jersey address he gave to Home Depot. Investigations will show if he is acting alone. Authorities would have to determine who radicalized him. He is also said to drive for ride share service Uber.

Analysts think he apparently did not intend to get away after the attack prompting him to draw the fake guns in a bid to draw police fire and gain martyrdom at the scene. He may equally have not been able to get a gun.

President Trump was briefed about the incident. In a tweeter statement, He also condoled with the families of the dead and injured. The president in the tweet linked the incident to ISIS which made analysts feel that he is quick to make such assertion. "Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of today’s terrorist attack in New York City and their families," Trump said

He commended New York Police for responding promptly. "My Administration will provide its full support to the New York City Police Department, including through a joint investigation with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. We offer our thanks to the first responders who stopped the suspect and rendered immediate aid to the victims of this cowardly attack.

New York Mayor Bill De Blasio called it “a particularly cowardly act” in a statement to press.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo said this appeared to be the work of a "lone wolf."
"There's no evidence to suggest a wider plot," he said.

Disabled Children School Bus Attacked By Suspect

This is the deadliest attack in New York since 9/11. Thousands of people lined the streets in the evening to celebrate Halloween Parade at Greenwich Village ” New York always comes back” said an individual as he awaits the night parade to commence. City authorities urge families to turn out for the event and no be deterred by the earlier incident. Authorities said they have provided adequate security and also used heavy duty city trucks to block intersections in a bid to keep people safe.

Immigration Protesters Rammed By Motorist At Brea, South California

The 56-year old motorists was forced to a stop by police and quickly arrested. Mr. Daniel Wenzek was identified by police as a Brea resident.

Pastor Fleece $332,000 From Church Coffers

JACKSON, Miss. | It took Executive Pastor Riley Brown 27 months as alleged to fleece about $332,000 from Broadmoor Baptist Church, the Madison Church officials disclosed.

The Clarion Ledger obtained from the church that the fictitious “transactions” were found out after an internal policy review in September.

The statement said Brown has been dismissed. The Church vowed to make a report to Mississippi Department of Revenue and Internal Revenue Service.

In the statement emailed to The Clarion Ledger, the Church made known it’s intension not to press charges against Brown but would not hesitate to work with prosecutors if authorities choose to go to court.

"As a body of Christ, we sought to find a proper balance between accountability and grace; and given our changes in personnel and significant new safeguards and internal controls we have added, and will continue to add, we are confident we can responsibly steward the resources entrusted to us," the statement reads.

"While we choose not to press criminal charges against this individual, we will fully cooperate with prosecutors if it is independently pursued."

"These transactions were undertaken by one individual, Riley Brown, circumventing our existing internal policies and procedures," the statement disclosed.

Brown claims to have obtained “Master of Divinity “ from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

5 Teens Haul Rocks, Kill Passenger On I-75 South Michigan

Kenneth Andrew White was riding in the passenger of a van on I-75 South when a large rock crashed through the windshield and hit him. He was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

Investigators confirmed that it was a six pound rock launched from the Dodge Road Overpass that killed White. The rock broke through the windshield hit White on the head then chest causing major trauma. He was going home from his construction work on Wednesday Oct. 18.

Four other vehicles were attacked with rocks before Kenneth’s van arrived the location. Some Motorists were lurking by the road side waiting for police to arrive when White’s van was hit as it passed the overpass.

Police investigation showed that before he and his colleague got there more than 20 rocks had been hauled at vehicles' below the the Dodge over pass in Vienna Township prompting the drivers to call 911.
Authorities said the five teenagers who were alleged to throw the rocks left the Dodge over pass and drove to a McDonald’s to eat.

17-year-old Kyle Anger, 16-year-olds Mark Sekelsky and Mikadyn Payne, along with 15-year-olds Alexzander Miller and Trevor Gray May Face Life Sentence.

Kyle Anger,17; Trevor Gray,15; Mikadyn Payne,16; Mark Sekelsky, 16 and Alexander Miller,15; all from Clio. Michigan will face second degree murder charges and conspiracy to commit second-degree murder, malicious destruction of property and other felony and misdemeanor charges in connection with the death of Kenneth A. White.

In all, the five teenagers each face eight felonies and two misdemeanors in connection with White's death. They all face up to life sentences.

All the boys went to Clio High School.

Clio schools Superintendent Fletcher Spears in his condolence message to family and friends of Kenneth White. "This is an extremely difficult time for our entire community. Whether we knew Mr. White, those who are being charged and their families, or have driven this same stretch of road countless times, many of us have a personal connection with this senseless tragedy,"

Spears hinged on the occasion to advice young people, "a stark reminder that we need to impress upon all of our young people that actions have consequences: and sometimes those consequences can be tragic."

I-75 Dodge Road Overpass

A road user Tim Marko said he was attacked in a similar condition “A month ago, my wife and I were driving eastbound in our brand new 2018 Hyundai Elantra by Mound Road and I-696 when we got hit by a house brick that someone threw off the overpass......it bounced off the hood and hit the windshield right in front of wife......luckily she was OK but it caused $1,800 in damage. I hadn't even made the first payment yet!”

Kyle turned himself in at county jail while the others were arrested after police resorted to public media to identify culprits.

The teenagers appeared in court Tuesday, Oct 24. Each of them entered not guilty pleas. Genesee District Judge William H. Crawford II denied them bail. Anger is remanded in Genesee County Jail. The rest are held at Genesee Valley Regional Center for juvenile.

Frank Manley, an attorney for one of the accused, said that "although the charges are the same, the kids are all different; the actions that the kids may have become involved in are all different," in an attempt to discern individual participation of either kid.

White, 32, is from Mount Morris Township. He was living with his fiancee Amy Cagle and their 5-year-old son. He was buried on Monday.

Substitute Gym Teacher Abuse 6 Girls On First Day

Substitute gym teacher on Friday was found guilty of groping six seventh-graders in one day Oct. 2015.

Norman Scott now a retired teacher of Portland Oregon was only a one day substitute at the gym in Gardiner Middle School. That one day was enough for Scott to grope breasts, touch backsides, hips, hairs and upper inner thighs of nothing less than six young girls.

It was the first and only day he substituted at that school, KATU-TV reported.

In an email to the community in October 2015 after the incident, Gardiner’s principal stated that the substitute acted inappropriately. He noted that the substitute teacher has been removed. It also said Oregon City police responded to the situation.

Attorney Jacob Houze maintained that his client was falsely accused. In his statement he accused the police of failing to interview other students and staff who where in the gym same day. He also noted inconsistencies and contradictions in evidence provided by the six girls during proceedings.

"We have each accuser's individual allegations, which are rife with contradiction, dramatic inconsistencies and none of them enjoy a shred of corroboration," Houze said.

Clackamas County Circuit Judge Jeffrey Jones found Norman Scott rebuffed the possibility of accidental touching. Jones was strongly convinced that the girls’ testimonies are detailed enough and compelling.

Norman would not accept a jury trial and equally within his rights refused to give his own testimony during the two weeks long trial. Over twenty witnesses were called in to give evidence in the case. They include the school principal and his vice, some parents and the six students involved.

Police confirmed the incident happened in October 2015 and that the teacher Norman Scott was charged with altogether 22 counts, 18 of harassment and 4 of third degree sex abuse. He also had no previous criminal record.

Scott was found guilty of third degree sexual abuse and harassment. The Court put his sentencing on Nov. 16. He was indicted back in June 2016. Police arrested him July 2016 and has out of jail same day after posting a bail of $100,000.

Some girls reported that Scott held them too close, He kept his hands on their hips and equally stared at their breasts Deputy District Attorney Scott Healy said.

One student said she was refused to got to the bathroom when she asked. That Scott instead moved his hands all over her body from her hair to her back, arms and grabbed her bottom, Healy continued.
while a third girl was assisting to take attendance, Scott played his hands on her hair and shoulder. He mentioned to her that she was pretty. The girl uncomfortable with these advances withdrew to another location. The girl said Scott followed her.

The 66 year old was a teacher in health and physical education in Clackamas County and Portland Public Schools for 36 years. He retired from Grant High School Portland in 2012. He worked regularly as a substitute teacher three years after retirement in the Lake Oswego, North Clackamas and Oregon City school districts. Scott’s current license qualifies him to to teach from pre-kindergarten to 12th grade up to 2020.

An earlier incident linked to Norman was in 2009 when a Grant High School student uploaded a four-minute video on YouTube of Scott wearing a condom on his head while teaching sex education class for 10th-grade students. He was also wore a pair of red underwear on his pants with a hole in the middle.

Judge Turns Down Request To Erase Sheriff Joe Arpaio Conviction Record

Federal Judge Susan Bolton on Thursday rebuffed request by former Maricopa Sheriff, Joe Arpaio to have his criminal conviction records completely erased.

Joe Arpaio with a sentence of criminal contempt of court hanging over his head was pardoned by President Trump August 25.

Bolton confirmed she discontinued Arpaio’s sentencing on the decision of the President to pardon him. The Sheriff could have bagged up to six months in jail on been found guilty of criminal contempt of court.
Citing judicial precedents, Susan Bolton wrote "The pardon undoubtedly spared defendant from any punishment that might otherwise have been imposed”

“It did not, however, revise the historical facts of this case."
Bolton bolstered her stance by quoting the definition of pardon from Black’s Law Dictionary. She read, "releases the wrongdoer from punishment and restores the offender's civil rights without qualification."

Arpaio’s conviction stems from a ruling against his insistence and using his department to intercept illegal immigrants and hand them over to US Immigration and Customs Enforcement or to Border Patrol. Joe’s methods were termed racial profiling. His method includes singling out people in vehicles who he and his deputies thought fits profile of people who entered the country illegally.

US district Judge Murray Snow in Melendres v. Arpaio, found faults with Arpaio’s methods in a class action lawsuit backed by ACLU. He ordered the Sheriff and his department to cease detaining persons for further investigation without reasonable suspicion of a crime been committed or has been committed.

Judge Murray was soon to conclude that Joe and his men were adamant and disobeyed his order for at least 17 months. The court established that 171 individuals were illegally arrested and turned over to be detained for entering the country. Promptly he slammed Arpaio, his two deputies and attorney with criminal contempt finding.

Federal Court Judge Bolton in a five day trial found found Arpaio guilty on July 31 and fixed his sentencing Oct. 5

However, the Sheriff is bent on wiping his records clean. "It's not going to be dropped," he told Capitol Media Services.

With the pardon it seems Arpaio has lost his right to appeal the his criminal conviction. He may have to face a future with his records tinted by the criminal contempt which he alone was arraigned by Obama administration.

Dennis Wilenchik, Arpaio’s attorney states why it is very important for his client’s request to be granted.

"We're not asking to undo facts," he said.

"We're not asking for expungement," Wilenchik said. "There's no such thing in federal law." He continued.

He likens the present situation to being no different than if someone dies before sentencing or having a chance to appeal.

"The whole case gets undone," he said, with the conviction nullified.
Wilenchik stated that the judge’s refusal to vacate her own order was not altogether a surprise to him. He confirmed that has appealed the ruling at 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.

Your Home and office devices which includes phones, smart watches computers, TVs, printers, game consoles and routers are hooked up on your Wi-Fi device secured by a the standard WPA2. WPA2 is a recent standard that replaced severe flaws in the WEP.

The research revealed that your once formidable local network of devices and gadgets linked to the internet via your Wi-Fi can fall to recent Cyber attack methods know simply as KRACK (Key Reinstallation AttaCK). This vulnerability is thought capable of affecting all Wi-Fi Networks. The flaw allows a hacker to intercept information transmitted to these devices.

Mathy Vanhoef of KU Leuven, Belgium said that this flaw is intrinsic in the WPA standard protocol itself. Mathy explained that operating systems such as Linus, Windows, iOS, Android, OpenBSD and also Linksys routers, Internet of Things Devices and other wireless devices using MediaTek chips are all susceptible to KRACK attack.

“The attack works against all modern protected Wi-Fi networks,” Mathy said.

Mathy implores the public not to panic yet in a bid not to cause widespread anxiety “There is no immediate risk, and certainly not to the overwhelming majority of people,” He said. He was not sure if such attack has ever been conducted in real life.

Vanhoef explains that the issue lies with the four handshakes that authenticate a user joining a network. The hacker could trick the protocol by impersonating a genuine user who was already authenticated. They attacker could decipher the unwholesome randomness of codes by reusing nounces and forging packets.

Kenneth White a computer security researcher clarifies that this vulnerability increases risk of attacks because these days an attack can originate from hundreds of feet from a vulnerable device. It used to be thought that Wi-Fi attacks necessarily has to be within close proximity to the target device.

In 2011, several researchers with Vanhoef among them demonstrated that a hacker is able to recover the code used to encrypt a secure Wi-Fi Set up. They decrypted the feature in such devices that users employ for authentication using the push-button on the router or Wi-Fi device.

Tech giant and computer manufacturer Microsoft said it released a patch against this bug on Oct. 10. The company ensures its customers that computers that have downloaded this update are secured against KRACK attacks.

Apple confirmed that its patch is still in beta for its iOS, macOS, and tvOS. Apple said the stable patch will be available to customers to download in a couple of weeks.

Google has ensured its customers too that its aware of the vulnerability and would roll out patch for its affected products. Device manufacturers Aruba, Ubiquiti, and Eero has also released updates for their products.

Daughter of Putin’s Mentor Declares Interest in 2018 Russian Presidential Election

Blue blooded daughter of former mayor of St Petersburg in the 1990’s Ksenia Sobchak said on Wednesday that she will run for the highest office in Russia in the upcoming March 2018 election.

The socialite and journalist whose father. Anatoly Sobchak, was said to to be President Putin’s mentor posted in a campaign video on her website that its time for a new leadership in Russia.

In the video, the "Russia's Paris Hilton" stated that children born when Putin first came to power in 2000 will be eligible to vote in the 2018 Russian election. She decided to run because she is tired of seeing same politicians year after year. Turning 35 makes her eligible to contest within the Russian constitution mandate that presidential aspirants must be not less than 35 years old.

“I decided to exercise that right because I am against all of those (candidates) who usually exercise that right,” she said. “When I was 18 and was studying in university, Vladimir Putin became president of Russia. Children who were born that year will go and vote themselves this year. Just think about that.”

The TV personality commended Alexi Navalny’s organized anti Kremlin protests. Navalny has expressed his desire to run against Putin in nest year’s election but may be largely put off by court instances against his eligibility.

In the wake of rumors that Sobchak was going to run against Putin, Navalny last month accused her of being Putin’s puppet. He alleged that the Kremlin would use Sobchak to give the March 2018 election some semblance of free election in a bid to deceive the unsuspecting Russian public.

Sobchak was being drawn into “this fairly loathsome Kremlin game that goes by the title of: ‘Let’s put a liberal laughing-stock up for the elections in order to distract attention,'” said Navalny

Sobchak told Dozhd (Rain) TV channel she had informed Putin of her intention to contest. She mentioned that Putin does not seem to like the idea. The Kremlin had always maintained that she is not restricted by any law if she choose to run for Presidency.

President Putin is yet to declare his intention to run for fourth term in office he first won seventeen years ago. But when he does it is widely expected that he will be reelected with less difficulty.

Ksenia has been active in Russian opposition politics since 2012. She was targeted and arrested and detained. She consistently shows up at opposition events and criticized Putin’s government on social media.

She came to stardom after her graduation from MGIMO university in Moscow and hosted the national reality TV program Dom 2.

The "Russia's Paris Hilton" is fascinated by fashion. Her Instagram account with 5.2 million followers shows her in numerous photographs spotting designer clothes and at various socialites events.

Ksenia’s father, a former mayor of Russia’s second largest city St Petersburg, employed President Putin then as an official in the city Hall in 1990. Anatoly Sobchak the reformist died in 2000. Lyudmila Borisovna Narusova, Ksenia’s mother was elected in 2012 a member of the 178- member Federation Council, Russia upper house of parliament.

It was mixed blessings for President Trump. Winning the presidential election in 2016 means declining fortunes. Forbes relates this loss to Amazon and declining value of his New York City estates. Property value in New York city had responded southwards to Amazon’s ecommerce onslaught on retail economy.

In a CNN interview Kerry Dolan, Forbes assistant managing editor blames Amazon squarely for the loss in value of Manhattan properties. Dolan said that Amazon leasing the Niketown store and and the Trump property contributed immensely to Trumps estates decline in value. She said "the values of several Manhattan properties, particularly those on or near Fifth Avenue, have dropped, shaving nearly $400 million off his fortune."

Yet another contributing factor according to her was the construction of Trump Tower Hotel. She said Trump took out a loan of $170 million to complete the property. Irrespective that the Hotel is doing well the property’s worth has significantly declined.

An equally expensive presidential election set Trump back too. He also settled out of court claims as much as $25 million in law suites related to his Trump University.

“We talked to tons and tons of real estate brokers who are super familiar with the properties, particularly in Manhattan,” Forbes reported. The magazine also confirmed that his hotel-condo tower in Las Vegas and his stake in a downtown San Francisco office building are doing fairly well.

President Trump claims he is worth $10 billion. It is not quite straight forward to estimate his worth since he declined to declare his income tax returns, like all the other American presidents before him from Richard Nixon.

The Magazine’s current listing of Forbes 400 | a list of 400 richest Americans, listed Trump as number 258, 92 places down from 158th position he was last year. Forbes estimates Mr. President's net worth to be $3.1 billion. He was worth $3.7 billion last year, thereby lost $600 million for the period covered by the analysis.

Microsoft founder Bill Gates still maintains number one spot in straight 24 years. Forbes estimates him to be worth $89 billion.

Jeff Bezos

Jeff Bezos CEO and founder of Amazon ((AMZN) and Tech30 with a worth of $81.5 billion still remains number two richest man in America.

Mark Zuckerberg

The biggest jump is Mark Zuckerberg, CEO and founder of Facebook. He made fourth place with increased worth from $15.5 billion to $71 billion.

Warren Buffet

The Oracle of Omaha, and mega investor Warren buffet has the third spot with an estimated worth of $78 billion.

New York Prison Worker Caught Having Sex With Inmate

Clinton Correctional Facility, Dannemora, New York female worker was caught getting inappropriate sexual contact with an inmate at the upstate penitentiary.

Denise Prell, 38 works in same facility where an employee female seamstress aided two inmates to escape. Two years ago, Joyce Mitchell assisted Richard Matt and David Sweat, convicted killers to escape in a related pent up affection relationship with the cons.

Prell, was suspected of indecent relationship with the inmate when a corrections officer on duty spotted the brewing relationship. She suspect was fired last month following investigation into the allegation.

In a response to NBC5 News Assemblyman Billy Jones, reacted to questions;

“Denise Prell’s alleged careless actions jeopardized the safety and security of our hard working men and women inside the prison as well as thousands of innocent residents in surrounding communities.” He said.

“If not for the swift actions of corrections officers and others working in the facility, Prell’s alleged misconduct could have had a devastating impact. It is unfortunate that the wrongdoings of one individual can reflect poorly on the vast majority that successfully carry out their assigned duties and work tirelessly to keep our communities safe.” He continued

“Denise Prell should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Hundreds of our dedicated corrections officers and civilian employees put their lives on the line every day to keep us safe. We need to send a very clear message that we will not tolerate unlawful behavior that puts the safety security of these men and women, and our communities, at risk.” He concluded

Prell was arrested on Wednesday on allegations of sexual misconduct, promotion of contraband items in prison premises and misconduct. According to New York State Police ,investigations are on going and she could face additional charges.

Her day in court on Wednesday, Prell admitted they fell in love. She sent the inmate a total of $350 altogether. She wrote him with an alias “Gwendolyn,” her middle name, while the inmate wrote her as “Gwen Freeman”. They would often talk about how their sex life would be.

They had kissed when she came to visit him last month at Elmira Correctional Facility where the con was sent a few months ago.

DOCCS spokesman, Thomas Mailey, in an early Thursday morning statement said, "This case illustrates the cultural shift that has occurred at the Clinton Correctional Facility due in large measure to the changes in policy, procedures and training programs implemented following the Inspector General's report. Despite this staff person's attempt to conceal an inappropriate relationship with an inmate, the vigilant awareness of DOCCS and subsequent investigation by both DOCCS Office of Special Investigation and the State Police prevented what could have otherwise been a security breach."

She is currently held in Clinton County Jail with bail put at $10,000. Her next day in court is Oct. 18. She was hired by Department of Corrections and Community Supervision, or DOCCS, in fall of 2015 as an industrial training supervisor in the tailor shop. This was about time Joyce Mitchell, prison seamstress ,who aided the escape of two prisoners in same facility as sentenced.

Boy Scouts Annoy Girl Scouts by Accepting Girls After 107 Years

The Boy Scouts of America announced a huge historical change to the organization's programs. The group will now accept Girls in the junior scouts cadre known as the Cub Scouts come 2018. Younger Boys and Girls will be kept in separate “dens”.

The century old organisation also in its statement released today said they will set up a different scouting cadre for older girls. This particular program for older girls is still being worked out and would start not later than 2019.

The Board of directors of BSA made this disclosure after their meeting at their Texas Headquarters. The organization's entire directors voted unanimously in favor of this change. BSA harps on this decision as a succor to parents and girls who has been yearning to participate in their organizational structure.

This pronouncement confirms the fears of parallel girl organizations like the Girl Scouts of America, that was founded in 1912. In Daily News story back in August “Girl Scouts accuse Boy Scouts of trying to steal away recruits”. It is alleged that both BSA and GSUSA are scrambling to shore up their dwindling membership.

GSUSA National President Kathy Hannan may have anticipated this move by the Boy Scouts and made pronouncements on it in August.

Her note read "It is inherently dishonest to claim to be a single-gender organization while simultaneously endeavoring upon a co-ed model," she wrote. "We are confused as to why, rather than working to appeal to the 90 percent of boys who are not involved in BSA programs, you would choose to target girls."

Charles Garcia who lately made it to the National board of GSUSA wrote in Huffington Post “Instead of addressing systemic issues of continuing sexual assault, financial mismanagement and deficient programming, BSA’s senior management wants to add an accelerant to the house fire by recruiting girls

GSUSA set their scope on declining membership of the Boy Scouts as the true reason that BSA is encroaching on their space by alluring girls with particular programs to join their ranks. GSUSA suggests that BSA could recruit more members from the African Americans and Latino communities they had neglected over years.

"Rather than seeking to fundamentally transform BSA into a co-ed program," she wrote, "we believe strongly that Boy Scouts should instead take steps to ensure that they are expanding the scope of their programming to all boys, including those who BSA has historically underserved and underrepresented, such as African American and Latino boys." Hannan included in her note.

Scoutmaster in Canton, Ohio, Brian Seeton, has his take that it will be much like the acceptance of gay Scouts and leaders. “Parents and kids didn’t care one way or the other,” he said. “It’ll only be an issue for the first couple of years and then it’ll carry on as it always was.”

Bryan Spellman, a scoutmaster in Fishers, Ind., made mention of the notion that there already were girls in some scouting programs, and that while the announcement was somewhat sudden, it would ultimately work out.

The BSA which was founded in 1910, has made rapid changes in the last five years. Ban on Openly Gay young men and employees was lifted in 2015. In another resolution January this year, transgenders can now enroll in their programs but is subject to local Chartering bye-laws.

More so, some countries has removed gender restrictions in their scouts programs. Boys and girls belonged to same organisation. Canada Scouts removed the gender identity in its name and threw the organisation open to all.

US Soldiers; 4 Killed, 2 Wounded In Niger Ambush

An attack on a small contingent of American and Nigerien troops left 3 US and 4 Nigerien soldiers dead. Another two American military personnel were severely wounded in the same attack. The unnamed surviving soldiers has been airlifted to Landstuhul Regional Medical Centre, a US military medical facility in Germany.

The US African Command released the names of three of the deceased soldiers on Friday. They include Staff Sgt. Jeremiah Johnson, 39, of Springboro, Ohio., Staff Sgt. Dustin Wright, 29, of Lyons,Georgia., Staff Sgt. Bryan Black, 35, of Puyallup, Washington and Sgt. La David Johnson, 25, of Miami Gardens, Florida. Sgt. La David Johnson was declared missing in action. His body was found by Nigerien troops on Wednesday, same day of the attack.

The attack was launched by Islamist militants at Tillaberi region about 125 miles of Niamey, the capital of Niger, US Africa Command announced in a statement. The unit is embedded into troops from the African nation to provide “advice and security assistance” to the sub Saharan country’s effort to combat Islamic militants.

The US Command also confirmed the nature of operations in Niger as been of majorly supporting role, providing intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance to assist the Nigerien government to combat counter-terrorism. According to the release the small group was on a “joint patrol” with local security operatives when they were attacked.

Washington confirmed on Friday that President Trump spoke with French President Emmanuel Macron on the developments in Niger. French forces with sustained presence in the region had quickly deployed fighter jets and helicopters to disperse the attackers who thronged the unit with pick up trucks in an ambush and search for Johnson who was then missing.

It also sheds light on Niger that is ravaged by Chadian rebels, Libyan fighters, Al-Qaeda and its affiliates Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb(AQIM) operating in Mali, in the north. Down its southern borders, another Islamic terrorist group Boko Haram has been fighting for territory in northern Nigeria .

Las Vegas Shooting, Worst Mass Shooting In US History

Service was held at city park Los Angeles for the 59 victims of the worst mass shooting incident in the United States. City officials commended first responders. Relatives of victims hugged and shared memories of their loved ones.

Stephen Craig Paddock who killed himself afterwards attacked the Country Music Festival at Las Vegas Strip Sunday night, shot from the 32nd floor of Mandalay Bay Hotel. The shooting lasted for about 10 minutes. Hundreds of rounds was fired from the elevated position at unprotected people at the Country Music Festival Concert holding on the Strip across the hotel grounds. Final report gives 59 dead and 527 injured.

Stephen holed up in Mandalay Bay hotel 32nd floor room from Thursday to Sunday night. He was positioned strategically opposite the exit of the concert arena cutting off escape route.

The 64 year old made his move few minutes past 10pm. People thought the gunshots were fire crackers and did not duck until they saw people falling as the bullets mowed them down.

Paddock worked with the US Postal Service, IRS and The Defense Contract Audit Agency between 1970 and 1985. He resides in Mesquite, a retiree community 90 miles off northeast of Las Vegas. He has a real estate business and owns close to 42 houses.

Lisa Lindahl and her friend Polly Smith must figure out a type bra ways to keep their breasts from hurting as they jog in 1977.

The eureka moment came,when in a satirical mood Lindahl's husband at then descended their living room stairs hanging two Jockstraps across his chest. Taking this as a cue the three ladies went over to the costume shop of Royal Tyler Theater at the University of Vermont and actually sewed up Jockstraps to make a much comfortable wear. They named the design "Jockbra." They later found it more appropriate to be called "Jogbra." Their first products can be seen till date bronzed at The Costume shop of the theater at the university, New York Metropolitan Museum of Art and The Smithsonian Institution Central Washington.

The global moment for the sports bra came when female American striker Brandi Chastin scored the winning goal at the 1999 FIFA Women World Cup. In a wave of emotion she tore off her jersey displaying a gleaming black Sports bra she wore underneath. Photos of her went viral and was splashed across front pages of major medias organizations.

US Evacuates Diplomats Over Cuba Mystery Sonic Attacks

US and Cuba relations deteriorate as Washington gave marching orders to all nonessential diplomats at US embassy in Havana to leave the country. This is followed by persistence unconfirmed attacks knocking off embassy staffs sense of hearing.

This move basically will evacuate about 60 percent of embassy staffs. US authorities also suspended all visa services at its Havana Embassy. US nationals were also warned on the hazard of staying in the country and were advised to leave as well.

There has been a controversy between US and Cuba over inexplicable events relating to incidents of 21 US diplomats and their household members has gone deaf. The termed "Special Attack" target only US embassy staffs. The source of these assault is yet to be determined.by both US and Cuban authorities.

This situation had prompted Washington to expel two Cuban diplomats from Washington in May. Havana has protested this measure and also denied allegations of complicity in the mysterious acoustic attack.

US authorities has concluded that what seems like coordinated acoustic weaponry has been employed to attack embassy operatives sustainably. As a result, 21 diplomats has lost their hearing. What seemed like isolated incidents were traced to be attacks. Embassy staffs had reported been woken up, in their hotel rooms by blaring and grinding noise. Symptoms were so severe that some diplomats had to be flown directly to Miami for hospitalization.

Congress has frowned at Cuban authorities for been unable to determine the source of these attacks. They are determined to remove all Americans from harms way by reducing the number of staff employed at the embassy, The embassy in this arrangement will stop all visa services immediately and attend to only diplomatic protocols.

Cuban Foreign Ministry has released statements today that Washington is quick in taking such decision. More so, the evacuation of embassy will affect bilateral relations especially in cooperation and matters of interest to both countries. The Cuban spokeswoman maintains that US and Cuba should pull together to arrive at a solution to the problem.

Canada has announced that it has no plans to remove embassy staff from Havana.

Beyoncé geared up mobilization for relief to over 45 million people in the US island of Puerto Rico, the Caribbean's hit by Hurricane Irma and Maria and Mexico struck by a 7.1 magnitude earthquake by releasing a new song Thursday night. It was a Remix of J Balvin and Willy Williams' "Mi Gente"

The talented artiste announced on her Instagram page "I am donating my proceeds from this song to hurricane relief charities for Puerto Rico, Mexico and other affected Caribbean islands" Beyoncé equally released the link to her SUPPORT RELIEF EFFORTS AROUND THE WORLD page.

This would be Bey's first song after giving birth to her twins. Understandably the Superstar has been lying low much of 2017 because she is nursing her twins Rumi and Sir.

Hurricanes Irma and Maria devastated much of the Caribbean's. The island of Puerto Rico remains largely without electricity supply and telecommunication service. Homes were totally destroyed across the municipality. Collapsed infrastructures such as roads and bridges are making efforts to resupply the island very eventful. The US state has requested for aid in food and water and also household and sanitary wares.

Series of statements from the Puerto Rican officials has heighten attention across the nation and suggested that relief efforts are not getting to the affected people. Some accounts report that Washington is not doing enough to plight of the people.

In a daunting revelation involving rapper 50 cents - Curtis James Jackson as he is professionally known in entertainment circles, is the latest to stir up what could have transpired during the last presidential election. He revealed in a radio session Wednesday, that Candidate Trump offered him $500,000.00 to assist his campaign to garner black votes.

50 Cents was speaking on Hot 97 FM “Ebro Morning Show” in an interview on his BET deal on "50 Central". He old Ebro " “They was having issues with the African-American vote. He wanted to pay me $500,000 as part of the campaign to just make an appearance.”

According to him the Trump campaign organisation wanted him to show up at a rally because as at then they were struggling with drawing African Americans attention. Hillary was making more impact on African Americans. The team were looking for options to make a headway.

During the interview one of the hosts interjected that President Trump has a great team in the White House but he would not give an ear to them. 50 Cents cut in “Then we gotta get rid of him,”

Jackson went on to share his thought "“If you were a president by accident, you might do some of the things Donald Trump is doing,” he snapped

50 Cents said he rejected the offer because the money would have made no difference to him. “I was like, ‘Nah, that’s not good money,“ he said. “That’s not worth it!”

Black turnout at the 2016 presidential polls was generally low. Much more African Americans ended up voting for Hillary Clinton. Notably, back in December 2016 Trump thanked the African Americans for not voting for him. It would be difficult to say if 50 Cents' contribution would have made significant impact in the election victory of Trump if had had opted to honor trumps offer.

Saudi Women To Drive June 2018

Saudi Ambassador Prince Khalid bin Salman told reporters yesterday Tuesday, at Saudi Arabia Embassy in Washington that King Salman has issued a Royal decree lifting the ban stopping Saudi women to drive. The decree is set to take effect summer 2018.

Saudi is the only country in the world that restricts women from driving. Till date, there is still restriction on women applying directly for international passports. They must receive permission from the a male in their life - “Guardianship”. This could be there husband, father, brother, uncles and even there own sons.

King Salman

A woman’s chores and mobility goes in a similar way. She is usually driven by a male relative. In the absence of a relative she could use a male driver. Yet she has to leave with permission from her guardian. This ban is only one, amongst other strict restrictions on women.

In 1990 a group of 50 women including Madeha al Ajroush initiated a protest against the driving ban. Again in 2011, another group lead by Manal al-Shari pulled their vehicles out of the driveway and drove off into the streets of Riyadh. This was followed by a huge government backlash. The women were arrested and jailed. They all lost their jobs and remained jobless as a punitive measure to forestall such civil disturbance.

Amnesty Group Protesting Against Ban

In 2014, Loujain Hathloul was arrested and detained for close to 3 months for attempting to drive into Saudi territory from United Arab Emirates.

Commentators on the recent development are keenly of the opinion that the motive for lifting the ban could be related to the Kingdom’s economy. The Oil rich state has thousands of Pakistanis and Bangladeshi drivers. Meaning that millions of dollars are yearly repatriated from the Kingdom.

Another opinion relates it the development to current trend, Saudi is been modernizing . Women make up arguably a large population of the workforce. Its becoming rather eventful to get all these women to their work places and get them back home. These working women also complain that a sizeable part of the income goes to paying drivers’ and other means of transport. The need for a changing society warrants such decision by the monarchy to rescind the ban.

This change can be related to women currently occupying prominent offices in the Kingdom’s government. The first woman to be appointed in the cabinet is Norah bint Abdallah Al Faiz in 2009.

In 2015 local council election women were allowed to vote for the first time in the country’s history.

Change can also be related to the Monarchy. The King consolidated the throne in the hands of an inner royal family member, his son Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The king’s 32-year-old son, has pledged to diversify the economy from oil and bring innovative ideas into the government.

This pronouncement inadvertently brings solace to numerous Saudi women are getting set to drive summer 2018. And it readily portray King Salman as making every crucial effort to balance state, tradition and religion.

Third Largest Diamond Sold For $53 Million

The biggest diamond ever found in 100 years was on sold Monday. Lucara Diamond Corporation made the sale for a whopping $53 million. The 1,109 - carat stone had been in the market for about a year. "Lesedi La Rona” as the gem is known now belongs to the Vancouver company Graff Diamonds. The Lawrence Graff Company also bought the 373 - carat stone that broke off the “Lesedi La Rona” in May for $17.5 million.

The fist sized diamond remained unsold at last year's Sotheby's auction in London. Buyers shied away when analysis largely suggest the stone would be difficult to cut down to several little gems before being placed in the market. More so, the color raised a question as it could mean more challenges during polishing. A $61 million offer came in from Sotherby, the auctioneer, but was turned down all the same as it did not meet the undisclosed reserve price.

Lucara Diamond's share surged in Toronto appreciating up to 7.4% in a single day. London based BMO capital analyst commented on Tuesday that this sale would lift the financial books of the company. "Lucara could flow funds to shareholders as a special dividend of about 10 Canadian cents a share the following year" he added.

The diamonds company's Karowe mine in Botswana is living up to its reputation in yielding high quality gems. Lucara has hauled in about $130 million from the sale of just three stones “Lesedi La Rona,” a 373 carat chunk of it that broke off during mining for $17.5 million and "The Constellation." 813 carat - $63 million, bought by the Dubai based Nemesis last year. What the corporation realized from these three stones alone has surpassed its investment to build the Karowe mine in Botswana, Southern Africa.

The biggest diamond ever discovered remains the 3,106 - carat (621g) "The Cullinan". It was found near the little town of Cullinan east of Pretoria, South Africa in 1905. It was cut to form the "Great Star of Africa" and the "Lesser Star of Africa", which are components of the royal Crown Jewels of Britain.

Kid Forgotten In Cave Rescued Third Night

An expedition to Sullivan Cave about 10 miles off Bloomington in south Indiana turned horror for Indiana state University freshman Lukas Cavar. The 19 year old a member of the school cave club got separated from the group of 12 Sunday afternoon.

Parents notified police when Cavar's club mates indicated that he has not been seen. He was confirmed missing when they saw his clothes in mates bag.

They had earlier thought he was lurking around when they discovered his hiking kit in his room. He only returned from a different expedition before embarking on this. The presence of his gears put off early discovery that he was left in the cave.

Cavar said the expedition was split in two groups so they could pass a narrow passage. He moved on quickly to catch up with the group ahead only to walk pass the cave exit.

On retracing his steps, he got to the caves exit but the gate has been locked. The expedition has left. No one knew at that he was left behind.

His tried his cell phone but could not receive signal. He could hear cars close by. He kept shouting, no one heard him.

Teen was discovered at cave entrance on the third night by two club leaders that came back to the cave to search for him. He scrapped dew drops that settled on the walls of the cave and water from puddles. Stayed close to the walls to avoid bats, he feared diseases from bat bites. He rolled himself up to keep warm and a couple energy bars he had on him.

Cavar was deeply unsettled and remained focused on staying alive he stated in a radio interview. His described his worst fears as bat, cold and dehydration.

School president in a statement posted on the school website declared that Cave club's rules to account for every team member at expeditions has failed.

Jaguars Protest Racial Tension While National Anthem is Played

President Trump responded to locked hands defiance by NLF players during national anthem Sunday afternoon as “acceptable” in a tweet.

Players in league sides today showed different forms of defiance including Kneeling, locked hands and arms during the national anthem across the country for game day Sunday September 24. The ante was notched up as some club owners and coaches join in solidarity.

Tom Brady and 17 of New England Patriots teammates , locked hands as they stood. Seahawks, Steelers and Titians their coaches and officials chose to stay away during the national anthem. Three team mates decided to Knell at Ravens while the remaining team members and their owner John Harbaugh locked hands.

Mr. Presidents todays’ tweet started with a well placed aim at the game operators and players. "If NFL fans refuse to go to games until players stop disrespecting our Flag & Country, you will see change take place fast. Fire or suspend!" He tweeted.

Hours later, Mr. President hauled another tweet. "...NFL attendance and ratings are WAY DOWN," he continued. "Boring games yes, but many stay away because they love our country. League should back U.S."

President Trump has been on the trail of players protesting anti racial police antics towards minority African Americans. He called on NFL owners to lay off players who kneel in protest during national anthem on Friday.

Owner of Patriots, Robert Kraft, expressed his displeasure at the presidents remarks. The GOP supporter who donated $1,000,000 to the Trump campaign embraced sports as a monumental factor holding the fabric of state together. Opposed to Mr.Trump’s statement on firing of the erring players he remarked “I am deeply disappointed by the tone of the comments made by the president on Friday,”

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell asked Trump to show the league some respect hours after Mr. Trump reiterated what he said at a rally in Alabama that defiant players should be sacked.

NFL Players Protest In As National Anthem is Played

Friday, Mr. President rescinded Point Guard Stephen Curry’s invitation to visit the White house with his Golden State Warriors teammates on tweeter. MVP Curry had opted out of the annual visit earlier. Before his team could decided whether to visit the white house. Curry received support from the by NBA community and fans regarding his decision not to attend.
