Drinking water is really very important in our lives. It is a commodity. In fact, we cannot live without water. Usually, people drink cold water because for the fact, it taste better(I guess), and due to our hot weather here.

I already heard an d seen lots of old Chinese people around here drink tea after every meal. Well, my guama (grandmother) told me that it can melt the fats.

I found out that not only tea, since tea is usually served hot, in general, hot water gives the same benefits. Because it causes your body temperature to rise slightly, you can perspire by drinking hot water, therefore, washing those toxins away. It also remove deposits in the nervous system that were believed to give negative effects on the body such as depression, negative thoughts and the like.

I have been drinking hot water every meal for three months now. SO far, I feel great. And since I am a sweet lover, which gives me sore throats all the time, I immediately drink hot water, and it lessens the pain or it can really avoid sore throats.

Warm/Hot water also keeps off cancer. It also avoids heart attacks. As we have our meals enzymes and acid secretions start and this is when the body warms up. So if we will drink cold water, it is like you are opposing with what your body is doing. (temperature) It interrupts the whole digestion process, thus slowing down metabolism, solidification of food we have eaten and it can also react in the form of a heart attack.

If you guys want to be healthy, try to change cold water every meal to hot water, you will get use to it and you will be wanting it more just like you got use with cold water.

How to Ace your New Year's Resolution

It's not too late to make a new year's resolution. It is still the first month. Few days before New year, I had written and thought about my goals for 2010.

I had posted it here in my blog and even wrote it down in my diary just to keep me reminded of the things I want to achieve and do. When I read a blog from Adam-Khoo's website, a famous entrepreneur who got his first million when he was 26. wow! amazing isn't it. I want to know his secrets and read his insights so I can also be a millionaire before I even reach 30.

I just want to share what I had read from his article about achieving our goals, the reason why most of us fail to accomplish everything and its solutions.

Problem 1: Vague, unspecific goals

Solution: Get clear on what you want because CLARITY is POWER

I learned not to just put in my list as becoming rich, but being specific to what extent. Like, for this year 2010, my goal is to earn 500,000Php in my savings account.

Every month, I should be getting an average of 50,000Php.

Problem 2: Lack of consistent focus

Solution: Focus on what you want daily.

I should always remember what I want. So before getting up in bed early morning, I should think positive and think about what I like to achieve, my goals and before going to bed at night, I have to think again about my goals. To make this easier for me, I am making a visualization board near my bed so I can see it everyday to remind me about my goals.

Problem 3: Interest but not a commitment

Solution: Make a Public Commitment

Ouch! This is really true for me. I told myself I will start going to the gym so I can be healthy and burn those unnecessary fats. But unfortunately, since I was again focused on my stuffs in my office and I felt that I don't have time, I just say "Later, when I have the time." You see, what I realized is that if i kept on delaying going to the gym, I would never be able to accomplish my goal of being fit and healthy. So even if I am interested to be fit and healthy, if there is no commitment, then it's useless. So, I am planning to have a gym mate/partner, probably my sister or friend and will be accountable for each other.

Problem 4: Lack of Personal Power

Solution: Take Charge of your mind and tale action

I guess this is the result of the negativity around us. Just think of positive things like you can do it, don't limit yourself but instead think big and reach it. Be optimistic. I love this quote, "Nothing is impossible with God." and "I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.", So even God assured us that nothing is impossible. Just be optimistic. Trust God and trust yourself. In everything, just do your best.

It's the new year and still working on my new year's resolution. I want to start my year with a positive outlook, something to do about being positive.
Here are my to-do list this year:
1. Read the entire devotion and the passage from the Bible.
2. Exercise! That means going to the gym.
3. Take time for myself and just calm down. In other words, I have to take things slowly..
4. Practice Chinese (Amoy Conversation)
5. Try to have a social life. (Healthy Socializing)
6. Start a business that can give extra income...
7. Improve my career/sales/mktg.
8. TO get a lovelife finally..
9. Healthy me.. Healthy family.
10. TO live a HAPPY HAPPY life.

Last day of 2009

It's 8:37am in my clock. It's been a long time I haven't been writing all my thoughts here. Sorry, was kinda busy for some reasons.
I actually underwent depression, as what my sister termed it. For me, I call it stress. Anyways, I'm feeling better now.
The past few weeks for me was really, really hard. I was affected not only emotionally but physically as well. My friends said it's all in my mind. I should not take things all by myself and just enjoy life.
My physical stress includes palpitations, sudden nervousness, ulcer, slight fever, tiredness, grasping for air. Wow! didn't know it could come this far.
Anyways, I have the reason not to be.
The Lord is always there... I have a gratitude journal. I say everything here in my journal even the feelings I am feeling at the moment, counting God's blessings in my life everyday, and what I am expecting to happen. So far, I'm recovering. Hope this will continue.
I am looking forward for a better 2010. :)

It is been a long time I haven't written something here.... I never posted what I wrote due to laziness.
I am feeling stressed out, burnt, whatever you call this... both at work and family. Well, at work, maybe I am just adjusting to my new tasks... family, I don't want to elaborate on it, but I have been keeping this burden inside me already. I am thankful my mom and sisters are very supportive and persistent. I know this will be thru at the right time. I wish soon though.... with regards to love? still loverless... lol.. Well, I guess it is okay because it is better to wait than to pick up the wrong guy hahaha... anyways, my heart's beating for someone already.. (clue: related to my work) I guess I just have to think positive and wait... hoping he will look at my way!
And btw, I am still struggling with my chinese conversation though. Have a chinese class one on one. I hope I will have my pronunciations right and be able to converse fluently..
Overall, this day, I felt gloomy... I hope tomorrow is a happy day!
I am still thankful despite the gloomy-ness today (lol), God is always there! He will never forsake me and I should just trust Him whatever circumstances I am in.. Sometimes, I have a tendency to do it my way because I thought It is the right way!

I always wanted to be really successful; finding out what God wants me to do with my life and then dedicating myself to achieving it.

I know it’s going to be hard, thinking about that idea. Human as we are, we all share certain wants and needs such as food, water, shelter, safety, love, respect and self-esteem. We all share a built in feeling to move away from undesirable and go toward pleasure.

I gradually came to understand my inner desires, but should make sure that God and my purpose matches. So right now, I am starting to think that my life serves a different purpose. It is time to reach my dreams and what I really want in life that blends with what God wants. By finding this meaning in my life will serve as a unique purpose in my life and will be living my life to the fullest.

Let me share to you guys about the laws of success I read online. I am grateful I was able to read this, so I want to share it too.

1. Commitment

We need to be committed of our dreams. It means we need to visualize what we really want and follow it with actions. It requires actions that are the same with our desires in order to make them into reality, but the very first thing to do is to dream, dream, dream.

2. Open-mindedness

People, events, and circumstance will be drawn to you that will actually assist you in the achievement of your dreams. Things will suddenly come to place, in perfect coordination with what you desire.

When you just carry your dreams within you, you will really feel and touch the hearts and minds of the people around you, and it is really a nice experience when you know you are on your way to your goal.

3. Persistence

This is like the vehicle you’re going to ride towards your goal. Persistence is what drives us to take every steps of the way. It is what prevents us from getting discouraged despite of the oppositions.

Translating your dreams into actions, and taking actions everyday, will really get you there in the end. No matter how big our dreams are, we can get to our final destination as long as we keep it in mind and continually taking actions that will move to that goal.

When you meet an obstacle, it is persistence that determines if we are giving up or not. It what gets us back on our feet, dusted down and ready to go again.

4. Flexibility

Observe what exactly is working in our lives and what isn’t. Change your approaches in some ways.

“If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always got.” From a wiser person.. hahaha.. If we continually do what we are doing, we shouldn’t be surprised when we don’t see any increase or change in results. We shall reap a harvest. So right now, just plant, plant, plant and plant. J

If you really want success in whatever area in your life, you can actually get it. Just be prepared to work for it--- to do anything, whatever it takes. JUST BE FLEXIBLE.

5. Faith

Believing the unseen.. without doubting.. if we doubt, it’s another way of saying you can’t reach your goals, it’s undoable. I believe I can make a difference in this life. I am going to achieve what I have set to accomplish. All I need is to BELIEVE.

6. Gratitude

Just be grateful/thankful in whatever circumstance you may be in, whether it may be undesirable.. Just be thankful… Counting your blessings makes you really feel good of what you have. You may feel abundance. Just be thankful.

7. Passion

To find passion is to identify your own unique purpose in life; to live your passion is to achieve the deepest desire of your heart.

You can achieve whatever you want. Just make sure your ladder is leaning at the right wall. Haha.

1. Do not interfere in others' business
Most of us create our own problems by interfering too often in others' affairs. We do so because somehow we have convinced ourselves that our way is the best way, our logic is the perfect logic, and those who do not conform to our thinking must be criticized and steered to the right direction, our direction. This kind of attitude on our part denies the existence of individuality and consequently the existence of God, for God has created each one of us in a unique way. No two human beings can think or act in exactly the same way. All men or women act the way they do because they are prompted to do so by the Divine within them. There is God to look after everything. Why are you bothered? Mind your own business and you will have your peace.

2. Forget and forgive
This is the most powerful aid to peace of mind. We often nurture ill feeling inside our heart for the person who insults or harms us. We forget that the insult or injury was done to us once but by nourishing the grievance we go on excavating the wound forever. Therefore it is essential that we cultivate the art of forgiving and forgetting. Believe in the justice of God and the doctrine of Karma. Let Him judge the act of the one who insulted you. Life is too short to waste in such trifles. Forget, forgive, and march on.

3. Do not crave for recognition
This world is full of selfish people. They seldom praise anybody without selfish motive. They may praise you today because you are rich and have power but no sooner you are powerless, they will forget your achievement and start criticizing you.
Moreover, no one is perfect. Then why do you value the words of praise of another mortal like you? Why do you crave for recognition? Believe in yourself. People's praises do not last long. Do your duties ethically and sincerely and leave the rest to God.

4. Do not be jealous
We all have experienced how jealousy can disturb our peace of mind. You know you work harder than your colleagues in the office but they get promotions, you do not. You started a business several years ago but you are not as successful as your neighbor whose business is only one year old. Should you be jealous? No, remember everybody's life is shaped by his previous Karma that has now become his destiny. If you are destined to be rich, not all the world can stop you. If you are not so destined, no one can help you either. Nothing will be gained by blaming others for your misfortune. Jealousy will not get you anywhere, but will only give you restlessness.

5. Change yourself according to the environment
If you try to change the environment single handedly, the chances are you may fail. Instead, change yourself to suit the environment. As you do this, even the environment, which has remained unfriendly for you, will mysteriously appear to be congenial and harmonious.

6. Endure what cannot be cured
This is the best way to turn a disadvantage into an advantage. Every day we face numerous inconveniences, ailments, irritations and accidents that are beyond our control. We must learn to endure them cheerfully thinking, "God will it so, so be it". God's logic is beyond our comprehension. Believe it and you will gain in patience, in inner strength, in will power.

7. Do not bite more than you can chew
This maxim should be always remembered. We often tend to take more responsibilities than we are capable to carry out. This is done to satisfy our ego. Know your limitations. Spend your free time on prayers, introspection and meditation. This will reduce those thoughts in your mind, which make you restless. Fewer the thoughts, greater is the peace of mind.

8. Meditate regularly
Meditation makes the mind thoughtless. This is the highest state of peace of mind. Try and experience it. If you meditate earnestly for half an hour every day, you will tend to become calm during the remaining twenty-three and a half hours. Your mind will not be disturbed as much as before. This will increase your efficiency and you will turn out more work in less time.

9. Never leave the mind vacant
An empty mind is devil's workshop. All evil deeds start in the mind. Keep your mind occupied in something positive, something worthwhile. Actively follow a hobby. You must decide what you value more - money or peace of mind. Your hobby, like social work may not always earn you more money, but you will have a sense of fulfillment and achievement. Even if you are resting physically, occupy yourself in healthy reading or mental chanting of God's name.

10. Do not procrastinate and never regret
Do not waste time in wondering "should I or shouldn't I?" Days, weeks, months and years may be wasted in that futile mental debating. You can never plan enough because you can never anticipate all future happenings. Always remember God has His own plan too. Value your time and do things. It does not matter if you fail the first time. You can rectify your mistakes and succeed the next time. Sitting back and worrying will lead to nothing. Learn from your mistakes but do not brood over the past. DO NOT REGRET! Whatever happened was destined to happen only that way. Take it as the will of God. You do not have the power to alter the course of God's will. Why cry?

The Winning Spirit of Island Paints

Treasure Island Industrial Corporation joined its annual Mandaue Manufacturer’s sportsfest event. It is an intercompany event which employees from the different firms to interact through sports. 

I enjoyed that Sunday morning, where all I see are bright smiles of the Treasure  Island people. They practiced the cheer with the lyrics that goes like this, “Ang Island Paints, bisan baho, maningkamut mubarug,mutindug arun...blah blah..”, oh well, I don’t know what’s next. Hahaha 

The most important thing in a game or events like these is not to win but to take part, just as the most important thing in life is not the victory but the struggle and perseverance and the fighting spirit. The essential thing is not to have conquered but to have fought well. I was happy I was part of that event. It was the first time I experienced such event of me, being the Island Paints muse... Oh well, because we didn’t have other option or it was the last minute thing. 

Island Paints volleyball team (girls) are very energetic. By the way, we won in VOLLEYBALL (Girls). So what is really a true winner? Even if we didn’t get any awards for the best in cheers, uniforms, or muse (haha), for me, we are still winners. Umm.. if you really think about it, it is very humiliating to be a loser... For most people, winning or getting the first prize matters, but it really doesn’t reflect all of the other talents that participate, who are as well equally talented, but not as perfected in that match that day.

So you really think, that even if we “LOSE” in that sense, like not getting any award that day, we suck? I don’t think so. I just think it is the appreciation and the cooperation of all the players that work so hard to perfect the team. If you can’t accept to LOSE, then you are not worthy to win!

Sweet Fish Day

One of my favorite past time is to grab something sweet especially if I am feeling exhausted, tired, depressed, pressured. One of my fave sweets is this fish ice cream :)

This doughy pasty is filled with sweet red bean paste that are from KOREA. I bought two. I know my mom loves this too. Anyways, even if it will take several minutes before reaching home, since it was frozen, it won't melt that easily. It is a healthy and delicious snack treat to unwind myself and to De-stress myself. lol... Chewy, sweet, and slightly crispy texture make it a big piece enough for a sweet pleaser. Another name for this fish ice cream is baked sea bream. Bunggeopang! or Asian Carp Cake!
Oh another healthy information about this carp cake... since it's made up of Red BEANS...

great source of vitamin B, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, copper and thiamin.
Low-fat and low-calorie.. YAY! (encourages me to eat more and more of these dah.. especially i love sweets!)
it may prevent chronic diseases (cardiovascular, cancer and kidney, and bladder probs)
Low-sodium food so it reduces blood pressure
High in soluble fiber which makes you POO-POO and binds toxins and cholesterol.

THE LAW of ATTRACTION

Mid-last year, one of my tightier than skinny jeans friends, MITCHELLE MENDEZ told me about the secret. She told me to just think positive and you can have all you desire in life. I was havin a problem with my lovelife.. She told me to just think positively.. well, it's very easy to say but hard to DO. We cannot focus on being positive if all of the things happening around you are all umm.. you don't really desire.. Well, I wasn't able to fully get what she meant until I decided to buy a book about this law and watch some documentary films online.

I really decided to change my LIFE for the better.. FINANCIALLY,RELATIONSHIPS, HEALTH and everything about me.
So I bought a book talking about the law of attraction. It took me only a day to read from cover to cover... and from then, it changed my life.

My top priority is FINANCIAL ABUNDANCE.... I first imagined and really believed that one of these days, I'll get to drive my own brand new car.. and SNAP!, I have my new car.. WOW! It's amazing... well, literally, it doesn't mean, if you want something, you can get it the next minute. It depends on how your desire is aligned with the circumstances.

Actually, the law states that I attract myself, whatever I give my focus, attention, or energy to; whether wanted or unwanted. If you think about disaster, poverty, being boor, broke, alone and hurt and you believe your thoughts, well, then guess what? That is exactly what you will be. This law applies to each and everyone of us, which means it will work when you want it to and not, if you don’t want to. It’s like Aladdin’s lamp. You can rub the lamp and POOF! The genie appears. Just ask anything, and it will be granted.

How can I explain this? Umm.. it’s like a magnet. We are a living magnet. Like attracts Like. Just start to visualize what you desire and what you can do without limitations. Imagine believing you deserve everything you want out of life. Don’t DOUBT!

Coz once you are living your life with your true vision, it is like floating on a raft downstream. You will start to attract from the Universe all you need effortlessly. Your positive emotions are the key ingredient in this recipe of LIFE. If only, you will listen to your heart and focus on how you are feeling emotionally you will be allowing nature to do its part. There are times when we cannot control ourselves, like feeling anger, hatred, stress and anxiety – STOP! Just divert your attention and focus on identifying your true vision in life.

Maybe, you will be asking yourself, so HOW WILL I KNOW MY PASSIONATE INNER DESIRE IN LIFE? You don’t have any idea how you will realize that you have been suppressing it all along. Just think about the times when you don’t have anything to do. Are you daydreaming? What are your frequent ideas and thoughts?

Do not pay attention to negative thoughts, doubts or thinking that you’re being impractical. Don’t listen to friends and family that you cannot do it… Because YOU REALLY CAN DO IT. Just dwell on the POSITIVE.

The Major Attributes of Leadership

The following are important factors of leadership: --

UNWAVERING COURAGE based upon knowledge of self, and of one’s occupation. No follower wishes to be dominated by a leader who lacks self-confidence and courage. No intelligent follower will be dominated by such a leader very long. You agree? Hmmph.

SELF-CONTROL (oh, I wish I have this all the time,lol). The man who cannot control himself, can never control others.. yay! Self-control sets a mighty example for one’s followers, which the more intelligent will emulate.

A KEEN SENSE OF JUSTICE. (Am I fair enough?). Without a sense of fairness and justice, no leader can command and retain the respect of his followers. Umm… Basically, yes.. a leader needs to be fair in all aspects. He shouldn’t be bias even if the right one is his enemy. Haha. Nah, I’d rather side with my friend. Even if she’s in the wrong side, I guess.. lol

DEFINITENESS OF DECISION. The man who wavers in his decisions, shows that he is not sure of himself. He cannot lead others successfully. Actually, yes… that’s true.. I mean, I’m not that stupid to have no decision when leading a group. Lol

DEFINITENESS OF PLANS. The successful leader must plan his work, and work his plan. Yay! I should work on this.. not only through words, but pairing it with actions, right? A leader who moves by guesswork, without practical, definite plans, is comparable to a ship without a rudder. Sooner or later he will land on the rocks.. oh yay! Sharp and big stones you mean? Haha

THE HABIT OF DOING MORE THAN PAID FOR. One of the penalties of leadership is the necessity of willingness, upon the part of the leader, to do more than he requires of his followers. Obviously, a leader runs an extra mile, as always.

A PLEASING PERSONALITY. No slovenly, careless person can become a successful leader. (But I wonder, why some are still leaders? I mean, they are only leaders by name hahah) Leadership calls for respect. Followers will not respect a leader who does not grade on high on all of the factors of a Pleasing Personality. So, even if I’m a subordinate of one, If he isn’t worth respected, hell, no way! I will voluntarily resign. Lol

SYMPATHY AND UNDERSTANDING. The successful leader must be in sympathy with his followers. Moreover, he must understand them and their problems instead of making gossips about it and really dying-hard to hear all those chitchat talks..

MASTERY OF DETAIL. Successful leadership calls for mastery of details of the leader’s position. Well, if you’re a leader, you should be the master of all. Hahaha.. I’m just saying, you should be the so called MASTER-MIND, but you should be open to new and exciting ideas though hahaha…

WILLINGNESS TO ASSUME FULL RESPONSIBILITY. The successful leader must be willing to assume responsibility for the mistakes and the shortcomings of his followers. If he tries to shift this responsibility, he will not remain the leader. You know what it means? Like acting as Pontius Pilate and wash hands and try to pin it on somebody. If one of his followers makes a mistake, and shows himself incompetent, the leader must consider that it is he who failed. Come on, a leader is the one driving the truck with a heavy load in his trunk.

COOPERATION. The successful leader must understand, and apply the principle of cooperative effort and be able to induce his followers to do the same. Leadership calls for POWER, and power calls for COOPERATION. So, if you’re just a LEADER by name, don’t call POWER. GO HOME!~

LOVE. Aside from all those mentioned above, LOVE is the greatest. A leader should have LOVE in his heart. Love the unlovable. He should learn to accept his followers’ weaknesses. Those weaknesses, supported with LOVE will turn into strength. Yay

First Blog!

I guess, I can say that this is my first blog? I have registered to lots of sites to write about my thoughts or even just simply post it at multiply if I am in the mood. Sometimes, I just type anything and save it somewhere on my laptop. Anyways, I will be officially keeping my thoughts, feelings here already. Just to keep these memories forever and so that I have something to look back to in the future... :)
Too much for the intro... let me first introduce myself. I am not good at words, blogging, or with these kinds of stuffs but please bare with me hehe.

My friends call me MayMay or Ra.. I am the eldest among the 8.. I have 6 beautiful sisters and 1 brother.. Let me tell you about myself... hmmph.. (both the good and the bad sides of me, but I may be bias.. hahahah)

I am a born leader, dynamic and active and have a compulsive need for change.
I learn from my mistakes. I am strong-willed and decisive, independent and self-sufficient.
I am not easily discouraged and can be unemotional when necessary.. (I guess..LOL)
I am capable of running anything and exude confidence.
I am an expert in exerting sound leadership, establishing goals and able to motivate the family in to action.
I am a very goal- oriented, see the whole picture and organize well.
I seek practical solution to problems and move quickly to action. I delegate work but insist on productivity.
I make the goals, stimulate activity and thrive on opposition.
I have little need for friends and will work for group activity.. well, this doesn’t mean that I am a loner.. sometimes, when I am preoccupied or too busy with work, I can stay late at night working instead of going out with my friends.
I excel during emergencies.. I guess that’s what you call ADRENALINE RUSH.
I can be bossy and IMPATIENT. I am quick-tempered, can’t relax and can be too impetuous especially if there’s a deadline tomorrow. I enjoy controversy and arguments and won’t give up when losing. (ahahha DEBATE to the mAX!) I can come on too strong, be inflexible and uncomplimentary sometimes lol.. I dislike tears and emotions. I tend to over dominate, too busy for family and will often give answers too quicky.. WHY AM I ALWAYS IN A RUSH? Tsk tsk tsk. I have little tolerance for mistakes, however, I don’t analyze details myself. I can be rude and can often manipulate people. Ahha.. I am demanding of others and believe that the end justifies the means. WORK is a driving force in my life.

Well, well, well, sticks and stones don’t seem to harm ME, and they probably don’t. But, my devastation is being misunderstood and considered emotionally cold. OH GUYS, pls don’t believe that for a minute. There is a heart under there and it loves and wants to be loved, even if I can’t easily show it.
