Every time Google or Matt Cutts comes up with an update, it feels like ‘all hell broke loose’ for websites across the internet. Webmasters go frenzy and start speculating at random! The Penguin, Panda and Hummingbird updates saw chaos and anxiety brimming amongst website owners, uprooting quite a few and subjecting many others to sheer disdain. One such instance was when Matt Cutts came up with the blog – The Decay and Fall of Guest Blogging for SEO.

While this blog stated the shortcomings of the guest blogging practices, it also touched upon the back linking malpractices. His blog was followed up with blogs, contents and discussions that speculated, if guest blogging, as an SEO practice was dead! So what is the correct way to link building?

Link building – Beware!

Link building does not have a stand-alone approach and links can be obtained in a variety of ways, but what brings you under the screen is the approach you undertake to achieve you ends. Buying links or writing blogs or getting guest blogs for the mere sake of gaining back links qualify to be malpractices, in Google’s parlance. Whats more, you might get detected through an algorithmic scanner, you may be reported to the engine or a blogger may just write about you practices, making them evident and visible. Besides, if there is only a one dimensional approach in your link building practices, that’s against Google’s book of ethics, it’s highly likely that you may end up being spammed by that one algorithmic update that penalizes sites that undertake such means.

The Solution

WhatsApp to Add Voice calls

Its a happy news for WhatsApp users. The worlds largest mobile messaging service plan to add voice calls to their 450 million users. The voice service will be available on iPhones and Android devices on coming summer and some time later for Blackberry users.

WhatsApp CEO Jan Koum said at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona ”We are going to introduce voice in WhatsApp in the second quarter of the year. “I think we have the best voice product out there.” There are no planned changes, “Our vision and mission are aligned. We both want to make the world more connected.We are working with carriers in established markets to bring value to end users.”

Facebook to buy WhatsApp for $19 Billion

The social networking legend Facebook to buy messaging App WhatsApp for $19 Billion. This is Facebook’s biggest acquisition to date.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced through his Facebook status says that “I’m excited to announce that we’ve agreed to acquire WhatsApp and that their entire team will be joining us at Facebook. WhatsApp had every option in the world, so I’m thrilled that they chose to work with us. I’m looking forward to what Facebook and WhatsApp can do together, and to developing great new mobile services that give people even more options for connecting.”
