We were walking along downtown by the lake and we saw the para sailing boat. I asked Hailey if she wanted to go and she wasn't to thrilled w/the idea. So I gave her the choice; go para sailing with me or go get a tattoo. (I know this really could have backfired) She quickly decided on para sailing so we decided we would do it later in the weekend. When we were in Spokane, there was a little fair going on and there was a henna tattoo place, she decided she wanted that instead of para sailing. I had to convince her that wasn't a real tattoo, that if she wanted one we would find a place. I'm not sure if she believed me, but we talked a lot about whether they would let a kid get a tat, and how much they hurt.....I really thought I was not going to get to go para sailing!. Anyway the last day we are there, I tell her we have an appointment at 5pm. she says she doesn't want to go, so Grandma Connie steps in and is going to go, she also said she would get a tat with Hailey when she got hers....
So mom and I are leaving to go para sailing and Hailey decides she's gonna go. WOW!!! We get there, get on the boat. She watches the first 2 groups go, as the second group is going she starts crying and doesn't want to go. I am convinced I'm going by myself, but they guys that are running this ship help talk her into it. They promise to bring her in if she hates it and they won't make her go high unless she wants to. She's almost convinced and I finally get her to go by promising her McDonald's when we land. McD's was the key, as soon as I said that she was ready to go. She cried for about the first 30 seconds, then she had a blast! She wants to go again for her birthday. And luckily I don't have to explain to her dad why she got a tattoo!
Click on the title for lots more pics.

Another first!

Hailey had another mile stone on Friday.....I had a voice mail from her school so I was expecting to hear a message from the school nurse. Imagine my surprise when it was her principle asking me to call him back to discuss Hailey's behavior that morning. I could tell by his tone that he wasn't calling to tell me that my child had saved some other child's life or stopped someone from being hit by a bus. Hailey was in trouble. When I called him back I was told that Hailey had been in a snow ball fight with a group of kids and another Kindergartner was in the nurses office cause he had been hit in the eye. He said that Hailey said it wasn't her snow ball but that wasn't the point. Then he went on to say that Hailey was being disruptive on the school bus. Not staying in her seat and yelling, and would I please have a conversation with her about school behavior. I was sure he was talking about some one else's kid! Of course I said we would talk with her. When I got home she still insists it wasn't her snow ball that hurt the other boy. She was very sad that he was hurt, but it wasn't her she says. So we didn't get to go to movie night the school was having on Friday night, that was her punishment (and my reprieve from having to go)
So my baby girl is growing up...hopefully this is the last of our visits to the principles office....some how I doubt that!!!

Lilly & Hailey

Lilly came over tonight so play with Hailey. Today was different she very chatty today and she was telling be about a boy named Derrick. Derrick is in the other K class at her school and he rides her bus. Apparantly her and Derrick got in some sort of fight today and Derrick decided he wasn't Hailey's friend anymore. Hailey said that Derrick saw it made her sad so he fixed it, and they hugged. (OMG my baby is hugging boys!)

As she said they hugged she blushed....(uh oh i thought). So she starts coloring a picture and then makes an envelope and then she asks me "how do you spell Derrick mommy?" and she wrote To Derrick From Hailey....then she drew a heart. I was shocked! She hearts a boy? She can't heart a boy? But she did, she hearts a boy. She tucked her letter in her backpack, she even double checked it was there before she went to bed and she said she's going to give it to him on the bus tomorrow. Maybe I'll take her to school tomorrow...

Riley

Its official, Riley is an old man now! Hailey played frisbee with him yesterday and the poor guy could hardly move last night. Today is better but definatly moving SLOOOOWWW. Hailey takes such good care of her dog, she told me when they came in that he was going to be sore and she was right, so she made them a bed and this is where they stayed until Tyrone made them go down stairs to bed. Riley was able to make it down the stairs this time, but it took a while to coax him down. He stayed there until about 9 this morning, usually he comes upstairs about 7am if no one has let him out yet.

Alli Dygas 12/26/98-12/26/08

Alli joined our family 10 years ago, and today she lost her fight with kidney disease. All week she has been talking about what she's thankful for. Mostly silly things, like her Wii or her horses, once even her shoes (sigh). Today she surprised us when she made a card for her dad and on it she wrote "To my dad" and when she handed it to him she said to him "I love you daddy! I'm thankful for you too and thankful you play games with me" Made my day!

Dress up!

Hailey is definitely a drama queen. Her and I were talking, about nothing really, and then she started laughing and said "you look like gramma!" I asked her why and she said "you just do mom, you look like gramma." and she still thought it was hilarious. Usually I'm not thrilled when people tell me I look like or sound like mom, but today as I was standing in the kitchen w/no makeup, hair in a pony and me still in my jammie's at 5:30 at night, I decided maybe its my mom who should be upset when we're told we look and sound alike.

They Came!

But last night I followed this recipe I found on food network to the letter and OMG....this was so good! Now for those of you who know me, you know I don't like onions and as you can see there are definatly onions in this recipe, there was a day where I wouldn't have made this dish because of that or I would have used dried onion flakes (gasp) for flavor. But recently I've decided to be adventurous and cook with onions and other veggies a recipe may call for and the results are amazing! Now I didn't eat the onions, but they definatly added great flavor and made the dish very pretty. This meal took me about 30 minutes to make and was so simple to make, I highly recommend you give it a shot! Trust me.

Alaska State Fair

We went to the fair last night to take Hailey on some rides, eat some good fair food and watch the Blue October concert. The concert was good, but I didn't get any good pics from where we were at, sometimes it sucks being the short one! The food was dissapointing, but I did get a very good funnel cake. And the rides.....well Hailey loved the rides and I suppose thats what really matters. I will say its the first time I've been to a fair and spent less than $100. Thats very impressive for me especially since we had a 4 year old with us. But she was content just riding the horsies and riding the rides.

Fishing & Camping

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_XvnBX-FBOpk/RsfTtGJHiwI/AAAAAAAABmk/ZwAGm21uaJQ/s200/DSC_2429.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5100277874716805890" />
We went camping this weekend. Just a quick one night trip. We spent Friday in Whittier and then we camped in Portage Valley . While we were fishing in Whittier, the sky's opened up and poured down rain on us soaking those who were outside to the bone. Luckily Mya and I had just come inside, but Tyrone, Hailey and the Blewett's were all out trying to catch a fish with no luck. So we packed up and drove back through the tunnel and set up camp at Willwaw campground. After roasting hotdogs and making S'mores on the fire we hung out in the dry RV listening to the rain outside. We watched the same disney movies and played DS just like we would have at home, but somehow it was alot more fun in the RV.
