Ubuntu 11.04 Theme for Windows 7

A few hours ago i published a post about Mac Lion theme for Windows 7, now i have decided to go for Ubuntu. Though i publish a Ubuntu theme earlier this this year but i am sure that it is the time to replace that. I am using Ubuntu Skin Pack 4.0, which is made by hameddanger again. This customization pack makes Windows 7 look like Ubuntu 11.04. The Ubuntu Skin Pack 4.0 can be installed in 32-bit or 64-bit Windows 7 with Service Pack 1.

How to install Ubuntu Skin Pack 4.0-
Just click the installer file, it will do everything itself.
After installing the Yod’m 3D – Options dialog box displays in French by default. However, the Language tab displays, allowing you to change the language to English, if desired. Click OK to close the dialog box.
Another thing is that a dialog box displays warning you that the settings file for Rainmeter (Rainmeter.ini) is not writable and settings cannot be saved permanently. To fix the Rainmeter problem, move the Rainmeter.ini file to the location designated on the dialog box. Or, you can delete the Rainmeter.ini file and it will be recreated in the correct location.

Back in April 2011, I gave you a Mac Lion theme for Windows 7 with many new features. After that Apple officially releases OS X Lion for Mac and gives developers the chance to test it thoroughly. So I have a new Mac Lion theme for you. Mac OS X 10.7 Lion theme for Windows 7 is pretty detailed and it brings the illusion of having Mac OS X Lion running on a Windows PC, complete with the new Lion wallpapers and all. The installation is pretty simple and doesn’t require theme patching of any sort. All you have to do is execute the installer and follow the instructions to transform your OS.

New High Performance XQD card unveiled, 125MB/s write speed is now real

The Compact Flash Association just unveiled a new high-performance memory card format, called XQD. It is based on the PCI Express specification. XQD card size is larger than SD and smaller than CF card. It measures 38.5×29.8×3.8mm, where SD card is about 32x24x2.1mm and CF card measures 43x36x5 mm.

XQD card has a theoretical maximum transfer speed of 5Gbps or 625MB/s with write speed of 125MB/s. The impressive performance should allow the XQD cards to fully replace their CF predecessors in high-end DSLR cameras and digital full HD camcorders.

XQD cards will make their official debut at CP+, which takes place February 9-12 in Yokohama, Japan. Licensing of the new format will start in early 2012. And we expect first device supporting XQD card slot launching in Q2 2012.

LG starts fighting with Acer & Asus Ultrabook with new sexy X-Note Z330 Ultrabook

It seems Macbook Air has enough competitors at the market before the eve of 2012. After Acer & Asus, LG is in the list of Intel Ultrabook makers. Their new X-Note Z330 is a 1.21kg Ultrabook with a 13.3″ screen with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. Just 14.7mm thick and with an extremely cool design, the Z330 is certainly among the best notebooks we ever seen.

The LG X-Note Z330 comes with Core i7 2637M or Core i5 2467M CPU, 4GB or RAM and 120GB or 300GB SSD. The amazing fast SSD allows it to make a cold boot in the amazing 9.9 seconds. But as I remembered Acer Ultrabook is capable on 1.5 booting with Mac like instant on feature.

The Z330 is pretty well prepared with HDMI, Bluetooth 3.0, USB 3.0 and Wi-Fi b/g/n inside. Like other Ultrabooks it has no discrete GPU here, so the Intel HD 3000, built into the CPU, will have to do all the demanding jobs for you.

Price of Core i5 Ultrabook is starts from $1500 with 120GB SSD. And Core i7 version costs $2300 with 300GB SSD. Not bad but not so good. I expect these with be $1000 and $1300.

Fix for Adobe Flash is coming

On Friday, Adobe announced that it would release a fix for a Flash bug Monday, rather than later this month, as originally planned.

The company gave no explanation for the change in its timetable, though speed is of the essence, since the firm acknowledged that "there are reports that this vulnerability is being actively exploited in the wild against Adobe Flash Player on Windows." Adobe's security advisory rates the vulnerability as critical -- its most severe rating.

The forthcoming fix should cover Adobe Flash Player for Windows, Macintosh, Linux, Solaris, and Android operating systems.

Interestingly, however, users of Google Chrome already have access to the Flash fix, since Google now bundles Flash into Chrome, explicitly to help users avoid older Flash versions with known vulnerabilities. Sure enough, on Friday, Google released Chrome version 6.0.472.62 for Windows, Linux, and Mac.

Going forward, Adobe will release patched versions of Adobe Reader 9.3.4 (for Windows, Macintosh, and Unix) and Adobe Acrobat 9.3.4 (for Windows and Macintosh) during the week of October 4, 2010. No known attacks have emerged against either Acrobat or Reader.

According to vulnerability information provider Secunia, the underlying vulnerability stems from "an unspecified error when parsing Flash content."

According to United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team (US-CERT), "by convincing a user to view a specially crafted HTML document (e.g., a web page or an HTML email message or attachment), PDF file, Microsoft Office document, or any other document that supports embedded SWF [ShockWave Flash] content, an attacker may be able to execute arbitrary code" and take over a user's system.

I’m not pretty sure about what will Steve Jobs do if he see his face on Windows computer; both alive or dead. But i am sure that many Windows users like me trusts Steve Jobs and Apple more than Microsoft. So i see nothing unsual if we use iSteve themes as our Windows theme, created by a devian art user, abd-ELRAHMAN. Facebook Hires Mozilla Engineering VP Mike Schroepfer

Having poached management talent from Google in the persons of Sheryl Sandberg and Elliot Schrage, not to mention Gideon Yu from YouTube, Facebook has now hired Mozilla's VP of engineering, Mike Schroepfer, as its new director of engineering.

"I'm moving on from my role at Mozilla Corporation to head up the front-end and platform development at Facebook," Schroepfer said in a valedictory blog post.

PC isn't selling too well- HP, Lenovo and Apple benefited

HP's announcement that it might spin off or sell its PC business in August didn't hurt its sales in the third quarter, according to data from research companies Gartner and IDC, which said that it retained its spot as top seller. Yet Dell, expected to benefit, subsided to third place behind China's Lenovo. Meanwhile Apple continued its remarkable record of growing its share faster than the PC market, which has now gone on for 22 quarters: in the US it moved to third place behind HP and Dell with 12.9% of sales.

Data from the two companies indicates that PC sales worldwide grew sluggishly in the third quarter, with Gartner saying that they grew by just 3.2% to 91.8m - below its forecast of 5.1% - while rival IDC put the figure at 91.9m, which it says was up 3.6% - but below its forecast in August of 4.5%.

Total sales for North America and the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) fell from 44.9m to 44.5m, according to Gartner's figures. The two companies use slightly different measurements. The numbers are aggregated from many places, typically including shipments to distributors, making them imprecise measurements but valuable for gauging the overall direction of the markets.

No iPhone 5, Apple unveils iPhone 4S with dual-core CPU and 8MP camera

Apple just unveiled the newest member of its iPhone lineup of smartphones. Dubbed the iPhone 4S, the latest offering by the Cupertino-based company is more of an incremental upgrade than a complete overhaul of the iPhone 4. Design and dimensions stay the same, but there's a notable increase in processing power.

The Apple iPhone 4S comes with the A5 chipset, which is the SoC that powered the iPad 2. It comes with a dual-core Cortex-A9 CPU and PowerVR SGX543MP2 GPU, which as we know is a pretty powerful combo.

The Apple iPhone 4S also improves on the network data speeds of its predecessor. It's not the LTE everyone was hoping for, but 14.4 Mbps is still pretty good for most market. More importantly, however, the iPhone 4S is a true world phone, supporting both GSM and CDMA networks.

The other major upgrade that the Apple iPhone 4S brings is in the camera department. The 5 megapixel shooter of its predecessor has been replaced by an 8 megapixel unit and the video recording has been upgraded from 720p to 1080p.

Much like its predecessor, the iPhone 4S will come in black and white color versions (only this time the white one will be available from day one). However there will be three storage options this time - a larger 64GB edition will join the 16GB and 32GB ones.

The iPhone 4S pre-orders will start on October 7, while actual sales begin on October 14. Pricing on a two-year contract is $199,$299 and $399 for the 16GB, 32GB and 64GB versions, respectively.

Unlocked iPhone 4S will costs $649 for 16GB, $749 for 32GB and $849 for 64GB.

In the US the Apple iPhone 4S will be available with AT&T, Verizon and Sprint (for the first time). Canada, Australia, UK, France, Germany, and Japan will be the other countries in the first wave to get the new iPhone, while 63 other countries will join before the end of the year.

iPhone 4S is releasing on 21th October

According to a Greek website an iPhone will be announced in early October and released to the major markets around the world on October 21. The site claims this will be the iPhone 4S with the same size display, 8 MP camera with 1080p video recording, a dual-core 1GHz A5 processor inside and a second antenna on the top. We already heard that Apple iPhone event will be held on October 4th.

The rest of the specs are pretty much identical to the current iPhone 4. The site claims to have a "100% reliable source", but we wouldn't rush to bet our salaries on it if we were you.

We also received another tip, claiming that the next iPhone will feature BlackBerry's Messenger service. According to the tipster, BlackBerry will be getting a lot of cash in return for their messaging service. Once again there's no confirmation of any kind to those rumors, so it might all end up to be science fiction.

Now, we are not quite sure what to make of those rumors. The iPhone 4S seems likely as Al Gore himself says there will be more than one iPhone announced next month, JP Morgan confirms that, and AT&T has listed a white iPhone 4S. But what about the iMessage service that will come with iOS 5 - is Apple just going to put it side by side with BlackBerry Messenger?

Developers are able to animate millions of objects with smooth 60 frames per second rendering and deliver console-quality games on Mac OS, Windows and connected televisions. Captive Runtime: Developers can automatically package AIR 3 with their applications to simplify the installation process on Android, Windows and Mac OS in addition to Apple iOS. In addition, with the captive runtime option developers can manage version updates to their application independent of general AIR updates by Adobe.
Content Protection: Premium video content can now be protected using Adobe Flash Access® 3 across all supported platforms, including new support for mobile platforms.
HD Video Quality Across Platforms: Full frame rate HD video can now be displayed within AIR applications on Apple iOS devices using H.264 hardware decoding. Rich applications on televisions are also able to deliver HD video with 7.1 channel surround sound.

Mabinogi is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game released by South Korean Game Distributing Company Nexon, and developed by devCAT studio. The settings for the game are loosely based on Irish mythology. Mabinogi was built on a hybrid Value Added Services model that allows free play and the subscription of paid packages, purchased through the game shop. Windows 8 Developer Preview is out: Taste it now

Microsoft just released Windows 8 ISO images for users from all over the world to the public today. Everyone will be able to download Windows 8 from the Microsoft Dev website as long as they have or create a Windows Live ID to log in.

This is the only requirement to download the development release of Windows 8 today. Microsoft makes the release available as a 32-bit and 64-bit edition, and will include development tools and samples as well. This includes the Windows 8 SDK for instance and application samples.

The company notes that those samples are not necessarily the apps that will ship with the operating system next year when it comes out.

As this is an early build of Windows 8, it is not recommended that you install this on a production machine as it might not be stable enough. Also, some features in this build may not make it through to the final version of Windows 8.

The developer preview has the build number 8102. It will ship with an early preview version (preview 3) of Internet Explorer 10 which plays a major role in Microsoft’s vision for the new operating system. Tablet users will get a special version of Internet Explorer 10 for their systems.

A new feature that will be introduced in Windows 8 is a new task manager which has been designed for end users. Professionals and experts can display a new and improved task manager as well that offers more details in a new layout.

Rio (Rio: The Movie) is a 2011 American 3D computer-animated musical comedy film produced by Blue Sky Studios and directed by Carlos Saldanha. The film tells the story of Blu, a male blue macaw who is taken to Rio de Janeiro to mate with a female. He eventually falls in love with Jewel, a free-spirited macaw, and together they have to escape from being smuggled by Nigel, a cockatoo.

20th Century Fox released the film on March 22, 2011 in Brazil and April 15, 2011 in the United States. The film received generally positive reviews from film critics. The film was also a box office success, grossing over $483 million worldwide.
