Okay! I just made it to a milestone in my learning curve. I sent my first LIST JOE email to random members AND found my referral page for getting new members! This is proof that you should never give up...lol.... I had all but StOPPED clicking on ads for money. Since my time is so limited, my efforts at marketing my blogs are random. But this Mother's Day, I received this sign...this blessing telling me there is hope for all of my work to not have been in vain. Just when I have grown weary of marketers calling me all day long and yes, I admit it, I have even been rude. So sorry! But I am juggling way to many things and cannot have my phone constantly ringing at work. I don't like high pressure sales or being harassed but this goes to show that if I could just slow down a bit, pay more attention and stop trying to fly thru the air like Superman..that this stuff might actually pay off!

My brief interlude, I must assert here. You won't see this kind of random blog often, but it is my blog so here I may blog. My blog today is about television. Yes, television. It will not die though I watch it much less than in the past. It brings sound to an otherwise quiet room. I enjoy some shows. Today, I am pontificating about two of my favorites. House and The Guiding Light. These are two of many more favorites..such as CSI, Nancy Grace, ....

House, I must declare, his accurate sarcasm never fails to amuse me.

In fact, my listening to him now, likens him as a favorite. I imagine myself, one of his students who respect him, and admire him but truly hate him more than they like him. The show features a comatose death row inmate who quickly springs to life when his doctors speak of racial killing in his presence. The show commonly integrates current real life statistics to tie storylines to the audience in a unique way. If you haven't guessed, the now alert but viciously ill patient who is shackeled to his hospital bed is African American. House is forever and always THE abused, and abusive Hero, who simultaneously is a victim and survivor, one with a chip on the shoulder but a bigger heart standing up for someone others care not for and for whom he seems to actually despise himself. While this behavior is not an obvious cover for an exceptionally, big heart, it is an attribute of his quirky genius personality.

He breaks policy established by "the machine" to save a killers life. He always pursues his most treasured idea only to change his mind one or two more times before a final aha! Often just in the nick of time. He thinks his doctor is in a gang because he has a tatoo. The doctor spitefully stabs the killer with painkiller. If that is not great writing, then I do not know what is. House has a drink with the dying man leading me to wonder how his victims felt about that.

The murderer threatens of course to kill House when actually the patient had tried to kill himself which is what made him sick. He started drinking chemicals. So House gets him drunk to find out the truth but in truth this is a bonafide counteractant against the chemicals. Then House breaks out laughing because he tricked the dude into now saving his own life by drinking alcohol. The killer looks at House like he is going to kill him as the show flashes to commercial.

Do not forget, of course, a touch of psychology is integrated into every House story line. In this particular show, it was a quick glimpse at Khubler Ross's Stage of Death and Dying.

Phillip returns to GL this week. Yes, my thinking is random yet you still love me. No, seriously, just when Beth is marrying his evil Father. So ironic. These storylines go back to my teenage years, which yes, was one of my all time favorites. This show reminds me of being a teenager growing up at my parents house. Not that we acted like them. We just watched the show. Then, the world of work interrupted my luxuries.

But one good thing I can say about DISH network, is they included free DVR recording capacity so if we find a show in the assorted maze of unwanted channels. A much needed improvement is the capacity to select Favorites reducing the burying effect of so many you do not want. Or give us our choices only. See, the thing about American's ~ we like package deals. Bulk is a necessity. We are so afraid of missing something we end up with all the needless frills.
