Well I guess I should get back to trying to spread some expertise (lol) and so called knowledge that I have learned in my absence from my writing posts on this blog.
Let's see now what I have learned? I have learned that there is no easy way to earn a living by using the Internet, but that with a lot of work one can tap into the treasure trove of wealth that lies in the cyber world. Going forward I will try and pass on this information that I have gathered along the way and share my experiences and try and point you in the right direction towards financial freedom through the Internet.

Something To Think About

In this dog eat dog world of online business I have noticed something that is evident in a lot of people's mindset. They want to go into this with a what's in for me attitude. Well I guess there is nothing wrong with that seeing how we live in a "Free Enterprise" system. But when I sat back and realized that in the business the goal is help others while helping yourself.
So I am doing something a bit dramatic, but I believe it will work incredibly well! Many of us in our efforts to make money online have spent a lot of money! Depending on whether or not there was ever any profit to be made, this can tend to make skeptics of people!

Well, I want to “prime the pump” for just a few folks. Growing up in the country we had a water well and if it every lost pressure it had to be “primed” to get a steady stream of water flowing … actually the story of Desert Pete illustrates it better:

Many years ago, a weary traveler hiked for miles across the desert with the hot sun beating down on his back. His water supply was gone, and he knew that if he did not find water soon to quench his thirst, he would surely die.

In the distance, he spotted a deserted cabin, which brought hope that maybe water was to be found there. He made his way to the cabin and discovered an old well. He frantically pumped the handle of the well to draw water, but all that came from the pump was dust.

Then he noticed a tin can tied to the pump, with a note inside. The note said:

Dear stranger:

This pump is all right as of June 1932. I put a new sucker washer in it, and it should last for quite a few years. But the washer dries out and the pump needs to be primed. Under the white rock, I buried a jar of water, out of the sun and corked up. There’s enough water in it to prime the pump, but not if you drink some first. Pour about 1/4 of the water into the pump and let her soak for a minute to wet the leather washer. Then pour the rest medium fast and pump like crazy--You’ll get water. Have faith. This well has never run dry. When you get watered up, fill the bottle and put it back as you found it for the next stranger who comes this way.

Ok,so let's talk about another income stream. If you like to play poker then this post is for you. most people play the game because they enjoy it.

Aside from just enjoying the game, why should anyone play poker for money? The answer is a blank for most people, and in a nutshell that is the reason some other people should play the game. Poker is a game where study, deliberately trying to improve and hard work pay off. There is no poker equivalent of taking golf lessons that make some aspect of your game better but that screw up those few things you currently do well. The only close parallel in the cumulative learning process involved in poker is something like once you learn how to successfully bluff you have to still maintain patience and not try to bluff every single hand.

But beyond the most basic levels, improving as a poker player is usually quite difficult. Evidence of this can be found by observing the mass of players. It is really easy to say "going on tilt is bad, so don't do it." But not one player in ten manages to keep tilt to a trivial level. Somehow in the rest of their lives people are able to handle equally obvious concepts: don't lick frozen lampposts; don't put your hand on a stove burner; don't wear your clothes inside-out. But when it comes to poker, they simply can't prevent their anger, machismo and stubbornness from governing their play.

But more to the point, most players simply refuse to accept that poker is a difficult, complex game that requires much from them.

Believing in ghosts and fairies is easier than doing the hard work needed to win. Saying "change the deck" is easier than studying opponent's tendencies and adapting your play to their strengths and weaknesses. Crying, whining, blaming dealers, flinging cards or saying the game is rigged, these exist in the poker world because they are easier to do than studying and having patience.

Even among somewhat more thoughtful players, the lust for shortcuts overwhelms them. They crave easy answers to complex problems. They want to be told an answer rather than learn it -- despite the fact that phantom knowledge does not bring success.

One common question shortcut players ask about Texas Holdem or Omaha is: "what percentage of hands should I play before the flop?" This is akin to asking: "what should I wear?" Well, for what? Are you going to a wedding or a digging a ditch? Are you in the Amazon or the Antarctic? The question alone isn't just pointless, it's ridiculous.

Some games are loose and aggressive; others are tight and passive. Some games feature seven solid opponents and one looney-tune donator. Then you get to more specific circumstances. The percentage of hands you play third under the gun with a super-tight rock in the big blind will be different that the percentage of hands you play when an outstanding loose-aggressive player is in the big blind.

Don't misunderstand. I'm not talking about "it depends." I'm talking about the process of poker. Each circumstance and judgment you face in a poker game is an opportunity to exercise thoughtful decision-making and data processing.

And so, you should play poker for money if you like to do that!

Players who want to follow the rules or thought-processes set out by others, even outstanding players, are not playing poker so much as pretending to play poker. Poker is a battle of wits, intellects, of nerve. In short, winning poker is a challenge. Play poker to win if you like a challenge (and not coincidentally, money).

Players who seek to avoid challenge do not succeed. Sir Edmund Hillary did not take a helicopter to the top of Mount Everest. Great explorers explore, and so do great poker players. So if you enjoy it then do it.

Well it's been a while since I posted. So, I am back and ready to supply some of the knowledge and insight that I have learned while away. The big thing that I have learned is that while I have focused on Home based businesses, there is a whole lot more out there than just that.
The first that I would like to talk about is Forex. This is the buying and selling of currencies in order to produce a profit. The overview of the Foreign exchange, Forex or just FX is the trading of the world's many currencies. The Forex market is the largest market in the world, with trades amounting to more than USD 3 trillion every day. Most Forex trading is speculative, with only a low percentage of market activity representing governments' and companies' fundamental currency conversion needs.
Unlike trading on the stock market, the Forex market is not conducted by a central exchange, but on the “interbank” market, which is thought of as an OTC (over the counter) market. Trading takes place directly between the two counterparts necessary to make a trade, whether over the telephone or on electronic networks all over the world. The main centres for trading are Sydney, Tokyo, London, Frankfurt and New York. This worldwide distribution of trading centres means that the Forex market is a 24-hour market.
So, you might be asking what is a currency trade? A currency trade is the simultaneous buying of one currency and selling of another one. In case that the EURUSD indeed declines, then you can take your profit. The opposite trading scenario would occur if the EURUSD appreciates.

My System Is Better Than Yours

Here's a quick test. Go into any network
marketing forum online and ask this question
in this way . . .

"I'm new to the network marketing industry
and I'm looking for a good company to join,
does anyone have any good suggestions?"

And then just watch what happens . . .

First off, it's going to be the most popular
thread in the forum for about a week or so,
and second it's going to be filled with
network marketers jumping to your rescue
telling you why their company is so much
better than the next guys, and you know what?

It really doesn't matter.

Until those in the industry understand that
it's not about companies it's about
delivering unique value to your growing and
developing organization network marketing
it's going to continue to have a high failure
rate.

If you ever get taught to handle the
objection of "why I should join your
business" by your upline by explaining the
comp plan and how great the product or
service is do NOT do it!

Why?

It's wrong first off - it's exactly what the
other 20 people trying to get your recruit
are doing and that potential recruit is
confused out of his or her mind because of it
all.

And it's not really what they are looking
for.

Let me explain a little more about network
marketing than you might want to know.

The industry is great. It allows average
everyday people like you and I do achieve
extra ordinary things and grow into the
people that deserve it, but when we start
we're not extra ordinary we just have a hope.

And we take a leap of faith.

We join a business and we say "Just tell me
what to do to make money and I'm on it"

Not wrong, but dangerous because we take a
leap for a second and then we revert to the
old J.O.B. mentality.

"Just give me a job I can do that will make
me money and I'll go do it"

Is what they are really saying.

And so what most sponsors do is they give
their recruits exactly that . . . A job.

And the worst job in the world at that; Call
a bunch of people you don't know and read a
some script to them and take what comes at
you.

Yuck!

But we happily oblige, and for most that job
never pans out.

The danger is . . .

We try to build the company up into something
irresistible that our prospects can't help
but to join and in the process diminish
ourselves into obscurity.

Very dangerous because this leaves the
prospect choosing between companies,
something we have no control over when, in
fact, we should be making them choose US,
something we have complete control over.

When they choose YOU you can win a lot more
than when they are choosing between
corporations.

Think back . . . Why did you join your
company or last company? Was it because of the
company OR the person in the company that was
going to show you how to use the company as a
vehicle to your life's dreams.

Most of us choose a company for the second
reason whether we consciously know it or not
and it's why we should choose a company in
the end anyway.

A network marketing company is only as strong
as it's leaders and a leader is only as
strong as his or her leaders.

And what leaders do is they take the choice
of choosing the company that a prospect joins
away from the technical aspects of the
company and make their prospects decided
whether or not to choose them.

And when they think from that standpoint most
of the time they turn into top recruiters.

People choose people.

Make your prospect think about joining YOU
instead of your company, almost as if the
company could be anything - it's just
something in the background that you are
going to use to help THEM achieve their most
exciting dreams, and once you start doing
this you'll start recruiting more people than
you can handle.

As an industry we MUST get away from
diminishing ourselves and building up our
company and start to do the exact opposite.

But don't wait for the industry to change -
Start the change in you right now.

Virtually every single big networker I know has mastered lead generation at some level. Virtually EVERY ONE. Point being if you arent currently generating leads for your business then youre like a car on empty gasping for the measly fumes before your inevitable death.

LEAD FLOW is the lifeblood of your business. And if you want to start making it BIG in network marketing then you have to start generating leads NOW.

Step 2: Personal Branding

Again, virtually EVERY big networker, and true leader I know in this industry has built a reputation and a BRAND around themselves. Want to know the reason why?

Because people follow PEOPLE in this industry. People do not join companies, they dont join products, they join other people who they like, care for, respect, and TRUST are going to help them get where they want to be in life.

Thats why almost every big leader in this industry brands themselves. Thats why they all have followings and are considered a leader.

Step 3: Earning Immediate And Up Front Cash In Your Business Regardless Of Whether Prospects Join You Or Not.

This last one is a REAL tricky one that took me a WHILE to figure out. Dont feel bad I had no clue this existed for a LONG time either.

The main difference between winners and whiners is that winners take 100% responsibility for their results in their life. Whiners blame everything and everybody for the results they have manifested in their lives. You know a whiner straight off by asking the following question "What has been your biggest failing in life". If they go off on a tangent and blame everything and anything about their life, you know you are speaking to a regular whiner. By asking the question to a winner, their answer should be that they don't have any failings. Why?. Because they have taken 100% responsibility for all actions in their lives. Do you really think that people like Bill Gates complain about such trivial things like there is not enough time in the day?. A Story I Found Interesting

A man walks into a typical commercial office building and
looks around. He sees a receptionist at the desk who asks
him to sign in before getting on the elevator.

He looks around and sees the normal hustle bustle of the
typical business day that it is. He sees people standing
around probably on a break just chatting. He sees a man with
a mop cleaning the floor. He looks around and sees a water
fountain spewing a relaxing trickle of water surround by a
nice plant arrangement. Nothing out of the ordinary . . .

He carries on with his appointment in the building and on
the way about an hour later looks closer at the vegetation
surrounding the fountain and realizes that some of the
plants don't look as healthy as they could. He thinks to
himself "Hmm almost a perfect arrangement."

He walks out the door, but stops mid steps and heads back
in, being the plant lover that he is, and decides to ask the
receptionist at the desk who was taking care of the plants
in the building.

She didn't know, but feeling conviction to his curiosity he
decides to investigate further.

Finding his way to the management office he asks the
building manager the same question he had asked the
receptionist, she said I think the maintenance people take
care of that, but I'm not sure.

He asks her further . . .

"Do you have office plant specialist to ensure the proper
care of your onsite plants?"

She replies no and that she didn't even know that such a
position existed.

He replies that he's actually quite fond of plants and has
been so for some time. He makes a few suggestions about how
the vegetation arrangement can be approved.

The office manager is floored.

30 minutes later he walks out as the office plant
specialist. He's paid $120 a month to take care of all lobby
plants.

Fast forward a year and he now has 22 contracts with
several office buildings of the same type as wells as 61 smaller
contracts he's picked up from the actual professional
offices within those buildings.

He loves it! He walks in to each office he has a contract
with and spends about 5 minutes taking care of the plants
for each account and then finds his way back to doing the
same thing on either a biweekly or monthly basis depending
on the type of vegetation in the account.

He looks at his financial statement and realizes that he's
making a huge sum of $$$ in his eyes, that is over
$112,000 year, just doing what he loves on his own time, and
it all started with a little curiosity and the intention to
help.

Everyday people walk by those plants and it wasn't until the
day that he walked in the door and noticed room for
improvement that anyone even took notice of improving the
care of those plants.

He does his work with pride and get's paid well for it.

And at the end of the day he always seems to ask himself:

"Why am I the only one doing this? Don't others notice that
there are plants in office building that need tending to?"

He shrugs the question off and carries on living the life of
his dreams.

Do you now see that there is opportunity everywhere?

All it takes is a little curiosity, a keen eye, and a passion to
help to see it.

Are there little things that could be done better in your
business? That's your que!

When I saw the opportunity for network marketing on the
internet and how little real training on how to actually do
it the right way I found my place.

Not by writing a book about it, but rather seeing the value
in the opportunity to explore the possibilities. Then
testing them, validating them, and finally teaching them to
others.

And now sharing those experiences with you so that you can
benefit from the road I've walked. It's your turn for
success in your network marketing business as long as you
can see it.

W. Somerset Maugham put it better that I ever could when he said, “The common idea that success spoils people by making them vain, egotistic, and self-complacent is erroneous; on the contrary, it makes them, for the most part, humble, tolerant, and kind. Failure makes people cruel and bitter."

But remember failure also drives people to success if propely applied.

We see obstacles as opportunities...

We are entrepreneurs because that’s all we know what to do. As a stroke of luck, even with all the sacrifices, heartache, disappointments, setbacks and the like we were dealt an ACE!

I Won't Lie

I will not lie to you, network marketing is a real tough business for the ordinary punter. When prospects ask me about income potential, I would be a fool lying to them, saying they can make money quickly with mlm. If I didnt made money quickly at the start, how can they (presuming thay have less internet experience) make money.

Thats why you have to fish through alot of students before you find the gems. If a student is getting a few sign-up's, then he HAS to keep going until he finds the leaders. When you do that you are set. But it can be really hard finding them and then they have to go through the experience of loosing most people they bring in. But if they are true leaders (which you are, if you can relate to this e-mail !), then they will overcome this and battle through it.

But when I and my team achieve this and achieve massive success , look at the sense of achievement we will have.

Two things keep me going

1. The payoff. I see top earning mlm members and others soaring with their network marketing business'es so I know its there for me but more importantly my team.

2. I never want to have to say to myself that this was impossible because I would be lying to myself. People are walking the path and others around the globe are also.When people give up, they are sealing their faith.I will never be one of those, neither will you!

Now you must make up your mind also that you will never be one of those also!

Fix your focus on your vision my friend and you WILL attain it !!

Today I will make a difference. I will begin by controlling my thoughts. A person is the product of his thoughts. I want to be happy and hopeful. Therefore, I will have thoughts that are happy and hopeful. I refuse to be victimized by my circumstances. I will not let petty inconveniences such as stoplights, long lines, and traffic jams be my masters. I will avoid negativism and gossip. Optimism will be my companion, and victory will be my hallmark. Today I will make a difference.

I will be grateful for the twenty-four hours that are before me. Time is a precious commodity. I refuse to allow what little time I have to be contaminated by self-pity, anxiety, or boredom. I will face this day with the joy of a child and the courage of a giant. I will drink each minute as though it is my last. When tomorrow comes, today will be gone forever. While it is here, I will use it for loving and giving. Today I will make a difference.

I will not let past failures haunt me. Even though my life is scarred with mistakes, I refuse to rummage through my trash heap of failures. I will admit them. I will correct them. I will press on. Victoriously. No failure is fatal. It's OK to stumble...I will get up. It's OK to fail...I will rise again. Today I will make a difference.

Now alot of people are asking me questions about income potential in this business and how much money you make from it, but I still feel alot of people are missing the point here.

My success in my online business will come down to 2 things primarily with this website
1. How many leads I can generate on a daily basis
2. How many relationships I can develop with those leads.

What I'm saying is, Don't think of the money !!. Don't chase the money !!. If you want real success in this industry, the right question is " How good can I get". You CAN create your own lead capture pages if you want to (it's quite easy for non-techies to do this, but it's optional).

Prospects fill out your lead capture form and you have another prospect added to your list.

Now, that's all great. But to capitalize on what just happened you have to understand the next step.

Your prospect just gave you permission to communicate with them.

If you follow the 3rd piece to this puzzle (below) you'll be able to place your 'offers' in front of those prospects continuously and bring customers and new team members into your business in droves.

OK, so let's repeat the biggest point of Part 2...

Now your prospect has given you permission to communicate with them, which gives you the chance to build a relationship and to sell to this person without ever 'chasing them.'

But it doesn't stop here (most people think it does and that's where they fall short). Step 3 is vital.

3. Offer Value and thus Gain the Privilege to Place your 'Offers' in Front of Your Prospects...

The key to attraction marketing is to provide value in the form of free or low-cost information, such as sharing books, articles, live events or recorded trainings. It could also be products or services that are related to the 'bigger item' you're offering (like your auto ship or opportunity) but it should have very little commitment attached to it...

By providing value using auto-email (and emails you send manually) you then gain permission to place 'your offers' in front of the prospect to buy from you, or to contact you with a sincere interest.

When you set up a business website, one of the components that is a "must have" item is an autoresponder email service. An auto-responders is an e-mail marketing tool which is used to sign up subscribers and send them email messages, track subscribers and sales made from the email messages.

The auto-responder back office will provide you with a block HTML code that you can cut and paste onto your website to create a professional-looking "lead capture form".

Virtually every professional business website features some kind of lead capture form which visitors are encouraged to fill in so as to receive further information about the product or service. It may be more information in the form of a free newsletter, a special report, an ebook, or even a free software package.

When visitors fill in the form they are required to submit their email address so that they can receive the information. Their names and addresses are added to the website owner's mailing list and they will start receiving regular messages in their inbox.

If your business website doesn't yet have a lead capture form on it for visitors to fill in and subscribe to your newsletter, then you need to get one set up as quickly as possible by subscribing to an auto-responder service.

When it comes to auto-responder services, the two market leaders are Aweber.com and GetResponse.com. Their services are slightly different, but they offer high quality services for webmasters.

Once you have subscribed to an auto-responder service, place the opt-in form in a place on your website where people will see it right away. In other words, place it close to the top of your web page. Offer your visitors a free incentive to encourage them to sign up.

When people fill in the form they will receive an email thanking them for signing up and inviting them to "opt-in" to the mailing list. This is commonly referred to as a "double opt-in" process. It ensures that nobody will accuse you of spamming them with email because they have agreed to receive mail from you on two occasions - when they filled in the form and when they click the link in the "thank you" email.

Once the subscriber has clicked the link in the email message he will be added to your list and will begin to receive the messages or newsletters which you have preloaded into your auto-responder.

The great thing about auto-responders is that they can automate the mailing process. You can program the auto-responder to send messages to each person on your list at pre-determined intervals from the day when they subscribed. Watch subscriber receives a similar series of messages from you at similar intervals for as long as he remains a subscriber or until the last newsletter has been mailed.

Actually, there never needs to be a "last newsletter" because you can continually add new articles and letters to onto the end of your mailing series in the auto-responder.

Auto-responders are powerful tools in the hands of experienced Internet marketers. Once you have one newsletter set up there is no reason why you should not write a newsletter series for each product you sell and build several email lists at the same time.

If you wanted to contact every subscriber across all your lists you could simply send a "broadcast" email to all your subscriber lists in one go, which would be ideal for special time-limited offers, or seasonal offers and messages.

An auto-responder email service is a versatile resource in the battle to convert visitors into subscribers and also for converting those subscribers into regular customers.

The consistency of your email campaign and the message inside your emails are a vital part of your marketing plan. Marketing is all about being in the right place at the right time. I hear stories all the time of an email arriving at a moment when the prospect was considering their options and it prompted them to action thus making the sale. This is the point of email marketing to your prospects. Always keep it in mind that one email will not be enough when trying to connect with a prospect.

Have Multiple Emails: I have heard multiple sources say that it takes approximately seven attempts before someone is ready to buy. Keeping your email's fresh and relevant will keep your contact attempts fresh in their memory and will allow you to make the most of those 7-10 connection opportunities. A good auto responder system only utilizes auto responders for those agents that request information off the internet. Keep this point in mind that they requested the information, you are not bugging them.

Focus on your Audience: When composing each email always have the recipient in mind. Write as if you were talking to the individual and think about how you would view the email if you received it. How would you feel when you read it? Would you think that it is just another email by someone pushing a product or would you think "wow, there is some useful information in this email?" Your audience has come to you because they have a problem to solve. Maybe their rates are too high, they don't get the customer service they want from their current insurance provider, or they are looking for someone to write all their insurance in one agency. Talk to your audience and address their need, this will catch their attention and your level of connection will increase.

Check for Key Words: Some junk filters will put your emails in the junk box if your words are not carefully chosen. Make sure to avoid words in ALL CAPS and extreme punctuation (!!). First, don’t be afraid of unsubscribes and make this step easy and safe for your subscribers. The last thing you want are for subscribers to unsubscribe by hitting the ’spam’ button or changing their email to a ‘trash’ email.

Did you know many subscribers are afraid to unsubscribe? It’s true. Look what peewhy said on WebmasterWorld, “I’m convinced that the moment you click on the fatal ‘unsubscribe’ link, they simply sell your email address on to others“.

Don’t be in such a hurry - Take your time and built it right. Build a strong and legitimate list. Never ever buy a list.
Free bribes - One effective method of building a list is by offering something free to subscribers. This can be a good practice but it shouldn’t be your only or even primary list building tactic, especially if you plan on selling anything using your list.
Be honest - We see a lot of ‘tricks’ to build a list but we want to be careful. Tricking people to subscribe to your list is non-productive and will hurt your reputation and overall objective. Have you ever signed up for an email course just to learn you are now on every list that marketer has? Have you ever made an online purchase and somehow magically become a newsletter subscriber?
If you want to offer a free ebook, for example, to build your list then just be honest. Let subscribers know they will receive your newsletter or future offers. Better yet, give them a choice from the start. We do run such list building campaigns at the Extreme Ezine but we always include a statement such as this:

* By submitting this form you will be subscribed to the Extreme Ezine. You will receive our newsletter and emails from ExtremeEzine.com including important updates, tips and occasional special offers. Your email address and other information is confidential and will never be shared or sold. You can SAFELY unsubscribe at anytime.
Good content - Here’s something that we see being abused by many mega-marketers or email marketing gurus. Everything you get from them is a offer of theirs or one of their partners or affiliates. Nothing of substance. They are far too busy working on the next big send to worry about offering any real content with substance. That’s fine if that’s what your list is about but if it’s a newsletter your subscribers are expecting more.
Sample - One way to help new subscribers make an informed decision is by showing past issues. Making archives available for potential subscribers is a sure fire way to build a relevant and responsive list.
Respect - Show respect to your subscribers. Don’t assume they are interested in every offer you have or that comes to your inbox. Limit your mailing to once a day, once a week, several times a week - whatever you have established. Don’t send three a day because you ran across some article you like. Save that for your friends and treat your subscribers with a little respect. Your subscribers have other interests and tasks other than your continuos emails.
Assurance - Assure your subscribers by including a simple statement at your opt-in form like:
“Your email is safe with us. We respect your privacy and do not share your information with anyone - even if you unsubscribe!”
Relevancy - Are your E-mail marketing messages relevant to your list? If your newsletter in about woodworking then stick to woodworking related issues. Expanding too far beyond your main niche’s interests are going to hurt your list’s effectiveness.
List Management - This is a big one and most of us figure this out after we have already invested time and money into the wrong solution. By the time we figure it out we find ourselves starting at the beginning again. There are many reasons to use a reputable list management and autoresponder service. You gain instant trust by many because they know the list management company is going to keep you honest.

How Clean Is Your Email?

How ‘clean‘ is your email list? Do you get a lot of unsubscribes? If you do then good job! A clean and responsive list is the only list worth having - no matter how big it is. You would much rather have a thousand subscribers that read what you send than fifty thousand emails that are never noticed.

An unresponsive list will lower both your open and click rates and even get you into spam reporting troubles. When you are paying a list management company more for a large list and very few even bother opening the email you have essentially failed at list building. You are throwing money away and wasting valuable time.

Inexperienced email marketers may feel the urge to let such a problem slide because the numbers look good but quickly learn a valuable lesson. A clean and active list is the only list worth having. Many marketers boasting their huge list sizes are the ones that didn’t learn. Hint: If a newsletter or ezine’s primary source of income comes from selling email ads be very cautious. If they are selling solo ads then run away as quickly as possible. Oh yeah, that’s going to upset a lot of people - lol. Angry solo-ad selling email marketers feel free to state your case below if you dare. (I’m referring to email lists here, not safelists and such).

Ezine Ads

Ezines can be a very effective form of advertising but there are a few things to take into consideration before you place an order for you ad.

First, what is an ezine?

An ezine is an “Electronic Magazine” or a newsletter of some kind, where a list of subscribers is marketed to over a period of time from an individual or a group.

You can purchase ad space in their issues and newsletter broadcasts, that will go out to thousands of readers at one time.

When advertising with ezines the only two ads you should take into consideration are “top sponsor” and “solo” ads.

A top sponsor ad is a short 5-10 line ad that is placed at the top of the issue and is the first thing the readers see. (See example ad for more info).

When writing these types of ads, be sure that you get to the point of what they are going to get by clicking on your link and be sure to include the URL or your tracking URL is included in the ad.

A solo ad is just as its title portrays. It is the only thing that is included in that particular issue. These are what we recommend the most.

Usually ezine owners will limit the length to 60-65 lines long but some will give you unlimited length. (See example ad for more details)

One thing to take into consideration when using solo ads, longer is not better. Try to keep your ad down to less than a page. Break the paragraphs up so it is easy to skim.

Be sure to include your URL or tracking link in the ad a couple times and sign off with your name and the link.

When considering placing an ad with an ezine owner you must first do two things.

1. Subscribe to their newsletter to see the types of information they send to their subscribers. This way you will be able to follow their format and writing styles.

2. Be sure that the content of that particular ezine is related to the content that you are going to sending them. You don't want to send out an ad

A couple things to take into consideration…

If it seems too good to be true… IT IS!

You can't get something for nothing advertising with ezines. But that doesn't mean that it has to cost an arm and a leg. Just be cautious of ezines that guarantee your results, or promise some crazy results for a very small price. (See the resources for some good places to find ezines to advertise with).

The size of the subscriber list is not always a factor to take into consideration. For example, if an ezine has a subscriber list of 2,000 people, and the cost to place a solo ad is $5. You might want to find another one.

This means that the list is not that responsive to offers. But you could do a test to that list and see what happens.

However if that same list has a solo ad price of $50, this means the list is probably going to be responsive.

This is of course just a general rule of thumb to go by, your results are never guaranteed.

Be sure you always track your ads to be sure you know what works and what doesn’t. (This will be covered later).

The same thing goes for if an ezine has 50,000 subscribers and they only charge $10 to place an ad, this means the list is not as responsive. But if they charge $100 than you will have a better response.

This is not always the case but it is a good guide to follow when selecting an ezine.

Tracking Your Results

You will want to be sure that you track your results using tracking links. This way you know which ezines work better than others and which ones don’t work at all.

There is definitely a testing time with ezines but you can get huge results if done the right way.

Things you are going to want to test…

· Length of your ad. (longer vs. shorter)

· Placement of your link (middle, bottom, middle and the bottom, toward the top, or all three spots)

The best way to test is by using tracking links.

There are a couple different places you can get tracking links from that are inexpensive and easy to use.

This new link is what you'll place within your ezine ad.

Set up a NEW tracking link for EACH different ezine or ad you test, so that you can see which ones perform best.
