Happy belated Valentines Day...I missed you. What have you been up to? How has the new year been treating you? I'm still here and I hope you are too. Finally the snow is melting and I have started my countdown to spring and intend to keep telling myself it is spring until it arrives....this will help me as I am shoveling huge piles of snow...hahaahaha. I am finishing up some songs and making good progress. I am looking forward to the completion of the Album. 2008 You Will Be Missed But Bring On 2009

Happy New Year! Did you have fun last night? Did you ring in the New Year with the Jonas Brothers? lol Well 2008 will be missed but HELLO 2009. Let's make it a year of change. Maybe instead of resoultions we can take steps on our own personal journey and be part of the changes we want to see in the world and in our life. Maybe we can take small steps, make a check list, change our routine, do something different, face some fears, have some fun, challenge ourselves and as we go along enjoy and be sure to stop and smell the roses from time to time. Maybe we can create more, give more, take more time if needed. Maybe we can laugh more, slow down more, love more, share more, feel more, hug more, smile more. Not only will others feel great but you will feel great most of all.

What do you want to see for 2009? I am already seeing the changes I want to see for 2009. Nearing the end of 08 I heard about a dog that saved another dogs life. So I had to have you see this for yourself....I was shocked. I don't think it's a trained dog and even if it was how did it know to wait for the traffic and bring the other dog to safety. I must say we don't give animals the credit they deserve. We are use to believing that dogs don't think and have a very short term memory....I must say something is very different here.

I want to send you off to a great start of 2009...so enjoy firewire celebrations of last night from around the world.

I came across a great site called Micronutrient.org that distributes vitamins and minerals around the world to impoverished people and those in need. Their program focuses on delivering vitamin A and zinc to increase child survival; iodine and iron to help with a child´s mental development, improve women´s health and contribute to the general health of a population; and folic acid to prevent birth defects. Indonesian children bathe in drums filled with waste water as that is all that's available in their Jakarta slum. Song Writing or Squirrel Watching...Same Thing?

So today I sat down to finish writing the rest of the songs for the Album. It seems every time I try to complete a song a new song pops up...lol. How do I complete a song you ask...well let's see...I must first prep the area to get me in the mood for writing. Make sure the area is clean and organized with my guitar in hand, tuner, lyrics, paper, pen, chord book and mini tape recorder. Then I need to focus on writing lyrics for the verses. I then experiment with what the chorus and bridge will sound like then I write more lyrics to complete the song. I have to discipline my mind during this process because suddenly I'm thirsty or hey Oprah's on or isn't that squirrel outside my window eating that nut really cute. So I'm here to say that yes that squirrel was really cute he really was but I'm giving up squirrel watching next time so I can finish the songs and record them for you to listen to soon. I'll keep you posted.

Hiya, I am just checking in on you to see how you are doing? Did you have a busy week? My week has been good. Hey it's Friday and it's a long weekend so that should make your day. Last week I performed a few of my songs in Toronto....wish you were there....maybe I will get a chance to perform for you soon. Currently I am working on my other songs which I love just as much as much as the other songs I have shared with you. I am also working on getting some photos taken and will be putting together a Myspace but I will post them all here first.

I came across a video called "Jessi in India" Jessi Cruickshank is an MTV Host and Free the Children ambassador, to the city of Udaipur where she explores its culture and learns about the issues affecting the youth in the surrounding tribal communities. Yay! I am pleased to share with you a new video I created called "Voice of the children" Some 26,500 children die every day due to poverty, hunger and easily prevented diseases. Can you imagine seeing life though the eyes of a child. I believe it's the children that suffer the most at the hands of war and poverty because they just don't have the understanding as to why such tragedy and hardships can happen in the world.

So let's get involved. There are so many ways to help. We all have have talents and gift and things that we are good at...hey maybe you are a skilled accountant...why not find a way to share that with the world. Well I was searching through some recordings I had on my computer and I stumbled across a karaoke song I recorded. I bet you're saying to yourself...karaoke? That's so cheezzeee...hahaha. But this one's not too bad. I'm singing Amazing Grace to a backing track. This one goes out you and to my Grandmother that loved to listen to me sing hymns to her when I was a little girl and I think she is the one that inspires the soul in my music till today. Busy Like A Bee

I just wanted to let you know that I am working away diligently writing songs, singing and recording. I am almost finished the video as well...which I will be posting very soon...I know, I know I said that before...but really it's true. My inspiration for my music as you know is Children in need and to help raise awareness to allow people to get involved, to help and to take action. I want to inspire people to align their talents and abilities to find ways to give in service to help others. As you know the song writing process can be quite different from person to person. For me I sit down, grab my guitar, play a chord then I will find another chord to compliment it and quite often it will inspire a song along with a few lyrics.

At times I will just make up my own chords by just picking some random strings to form a chord. I am self taught so I find myself somewhat fearless to be slightly unconventional with my music...which I find to be more fun. It is great for me to go beyond the music as I am discovering the world and people around me. As I discover, learn and grow about all the greatness there is all around us, I will keep you informed and updated and you can grow right along with me. Thanks Again for accompanying me on this journey. We are never alone. :)

The Official Day of Murphy's Law

How are you all. I hope you had a wonderful day. My day was quite interesting. This weekend I was fixing my car for the smog test. I bought a brand new shiny catayltic converter this weekend. I drove my car this morning and it stopped cold on the road. After I towed my car to the mechanic I realized I forgot to send my car keys.

But no shortage of very good hearted people to help me. One person towed my car with their CAA membership, another helped push my car while one person just offered to help in anyway they could and a family member dropped my keys to the mechanic. So I am sending out my great thanks and appreciation to all those who helped me. So if you are having one of those days like me or maybe your day was good and you could use a laugh. I thought I would lighten things up as a reminder to not to sweat the small stuff.
