One is about the palm oil plantation. The plantation role is on planning status. Therefore, the workload is not heavy. I just have to made a few calls daily, check what are the fruit market price for today in MPOC web site and estimate in future what is the trend on economic.

On the other hand, I am working on Production role at PowerConcord. For geeks only, I know this web site is very traditional, like 90 centuries, static webpage and yet is not created from me! Why am I working on two position? Because existing employee is leaving the company. So, if there is another employee leaving, I might hold more than 2 position role, what a joke! General speaking, I have no idea what I have to do on this position. Because there isn't have a proper documented or is not systematic. Therefore I need to observe from myse, if it make sense I would let it go, if it is not I will screw them up. On this production role is like a supervisor on these products, make sure the raw material is sufficient, workers are following up with their job and there is more I haven't discover yet. Oh yea, We are manufacturing on returnable and disposable metal pallets. It is mainly for rubber factory to use and chemicals factory. It is very common in oversea country, because metal pallets can recycle, environment protect on trees. But it is not very popular in Malaysia yet, due to Malaysia still have plenty of woods for pallets.

There is my recent update!

~eddiekua

About HttpClient

<meta equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; I am writing a small program to help me collect some data from the web site at everyday. It’s just like a normal day that people go for movie or having dinner with your partner. It happen same to me as well. I went for a movie with my girlfriend on tonight which is Batman: The Dark Knight.

I believe most people have seen this movie. It has been up in the cinema for couple weeks. I wasn’t free on the past few weeks and luckily there is someone who always waits for me. Then how was the movie? Was it good?

Overall, the movie is not bad at all likes storyline, acting, action, bat mobile, new technology and characteristics. There is one thing I dislike from this movie and it made me downgrade rate of this movie even though it shows 9.4 out of 10 from IMDB. The thing that I don’t like is the moral of the movie. Sometimes a single view, a single thing, a single sentence or even a single word will influence people mind and how they look at on the object in a good way or bad way. Eventually, a movie can influence you more either can bring you more happiness, sadness, hope for the life or human is evil. Human is not evil, because they are criminal. Human is more evil, because they are not caring, sick of life and it threat people as emotion toys.

In the movie, the mayor is trying to save the city or to secure others life or reduce the criminal. But at the end, he turns evil because he is being betrayed by someone that can trust. There is some good thing about the movie is human life cannot judge good or bad based on what they have did on the past. The movie influence me on the bad things that, why should I live on this world, why should I being well to others? What I got return when I being well to others? It makes me look very down on this world; it shows there is no thoughtful. Look what is happening on our politician (战争连连， 受苦始终是老百姓).

The movie increases my emotion and anger. I use my hands to block the lift and it caused some annoying sound (DONG DONG!) when it tried to close. By doing this action, its scare people in the lift that, why am I doing this. To be honest, I did not plan on this. But the mind and body is not control by me and it control by my emotion.

On the way back to home, I almost caught two car accidents because of this movie. I almost want to bands his car because he over take me or blocked my way. Another time, my car almost got scratches on a stand pole when I reverse the car, because someone car park my car post.

Alright, I finished my beer and air-cond is switch on and everything back to normal again.

About Vietnam

What an interesting lunch I had it just now! I meet this person during lunch time. He is working in a company who had invested factory in Vietnam. He works half a year in Vietnam and half a year in Malaysia. During lunch time, he told us a lot interesting things in Vietnam and why people choose Vietnam for further investment.
On the pass 3 to 5 years ago, we always heard people want to go China for future invests especially those on manufacturing company. But, now the investor has changed their mind.

Why employer or investor does not likes to invest on their own country? Few reasons I can think of:

• Workers salary
• Lifestyle
• Land, electricity, water
• Population
• Human rights
• Government Policies likes tax, laws and others

With the reasons above and more, it cause the investor does not want to invest on their own country. Profit of the return would take much longer and it might go through a lot of process.

Take an example; a listed company in Malaysia requires 30% shared hold by Bumi (Malays) person. Why is the reason? Simple it is share the portion of the foods.

In Vietnam the land boundaries is 4,693 km and Malaysia the land boundaries is 2,699km. The population in Vietnam is 86,116,559 and Malaysia is 25,274,133. This is one the reason that Vietnam land and worker salary is cost much lower than Malaysia.

Currently, Vietnamese do not have much happening lifestyle; due to their 70% of salary will go to food, motor-bike loan, family expense and the rest. Thus, in off working time or weekends, they will take stool to the walkway and chit-chat while drinking tea and children will play on the ground.

He told us that in Vietnam, most of the business or manager level is run by women. There are 4 women days happen in a year like 8th of March, 20th of October and others. In these days, the employer will buy a rose or give some voucher to the women as a small gift to them. What a grateful day! How do they come up with the figure? Is that figure reliable and is it a gain or loss within the timeline?

Here it's come the calculation, assume that I need this much of resources (man-power) and number of days (8 hours per day for normal office hour exclude lunch time) ? The resources multiply number of days, then divide by 8 hours per day then the number of day is what you need. To be safe, you would need to plus 10% ~ 20% of extra timeline, incase of sick leave, public holiday and some unpredictable case.

How about your budget? Budget which is based on your man-power salary. Let say, if you need 10 resources to work out this project within this timeline. If Each of the resource is about RM150 per day (salary RM3k per month). You can multiply the number of resource and number of days. After that you need to include tax and minor expense, once you got the amount that is your minimum amount to roll up a project. Based on the minimum amount and compare the current market price, you can roughly know that whether this project is doable or not. Last time, people can earn 40% ~ 60% from a project. But right now at the moment, the economic is meltdown and inflation increasing rapidly. People can only earn 10% ~ 30% profit from standard project.

~eddiekua

About Movies Review

I watched Kung Fu Panda movie. Sometimes, this quote can let you know deeper of yourself or motivate yourself.

Kung Fu Panda:

"Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift, that's why it is called the present."

Coach Cater:

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine as children do. It's not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own lights shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

Bruce Almighty #1:

Parting a soup is not a miracle, Bruce. It's a magic trick. A single mom who's working two jobs, and still finds time to take her son to soccer practice, that's a miracle. A teenager who says "no" to drugs and "yes" to an education, that's a miracle. People want me to do everything for them. What they don't realize is *they* have the power. You want to see a miracle, son? Be the miracle.

Bruce Almighty #2:

If someone prays for patience, you think God gives them patience? Or does he give them the opportunity to be patient? If he prayed for courage, does God give him courage, or does he give him opportunities to be courageous? If someone prayed for the family to be closer, do you think God zaps them with warm fuzzy feelings, or does he give them opportunities to love each other?

I believe there is more, I will update if i find more.

~eddiekua

About Working Days

Welcome Malaysia to one steps forward on market fuel oil price, thanks to subsidise fuel oil from government and now has taken away. But yet does your fixed income can survive with raising fuel oil price, rice, mee, noodle, chicken, meat and others. We always seeings from the newspaper that comparing the fuel oil price with our neighbour (Singapore or Thailand). Let's check it out.

Fuel oil price in between Malaysia and Singapore:

Petrol

Diesel

Malaysia

RM2.70

RM2.58

Singapore

SG2.260

SG1.833

Without converting the currency rate looks like Singapore having cheaper rate of fuel oil price. The next thing, we need to check out is whether your income can survive.

Median Salary by Years Experience - Country: Malaysia (Malaysia)

Median Salary by Years Experience - Country: Singapore (Singapore)

Comparison on salary in between Malaysia and Singapore:

Malaysia

Singapore

Less than 1 year

RM25,000

SG31,123

1-4 years

RM35,639

SG37,428

5-9 years

RM58,913

SG58,004

10-19 years

RM95,352

SG85,242

20 years or more

RM122,612

SG121,621

Based on the table graph above we can see that Malaysian earning salary on the first 4 years is very low compare to Singapore. Thus, for those who earning less income how can they survive?

Lately, I have read article news about American reduce working day life because of the ridiculously high fuel prices. They are proposing reduce working days from 5 days to 4 days and each days plus 2 hours which is mean everyday work for 10 hours. By doing this, people can save petrol and have more time with the family. But can this work in Malaysia, I believe alot people doubt this is going to happen in Malaysia. Few reason pop on my heads

* Some worker gain income based on working hours and overtime hours. Less one day of overtime hours (multiply 1.5 or 2)
* Employer need to higher more people for rotate day. More income need to generate before hire more people.
* Delay time on project or service
* Traditional 5 and half working days. Probably, they should start with 5 working days :p

~eddiekua

About Black and White

What does "black and white" stands for ?

* Black and White - Refer as early phtotgraphy, film and other media
* Black and White - Refer as a brand scotch whisky
* Black and White - Refer as two different races in American
* Black and White - Refer as Micheal Jackson
* Black and White - Refer as Computer games produce by Lionhead
* Black and White - Refer as Contract and Document

I refer them as a contract or document. I usually workout on weekend, but last few weeks ago I were travelling to East Malaysia for some research and future investment.

I always remind myself "work hard, play hard, live good!". That why, today I wake up early this morning and go for jogging. On the half way track, a guy come out for walk and he's bring along with his dog. At the same time, I was jogging pass by them. Out of sudden, the dog jump and want to bite on me. I shout on it and showing anger to the dog (I used to have this kind of skill told by few persons and today it's safe me). In this century, people is work for life and not live for work. Last time, we can always heard our cousin/neighbor/senior, they have been working for the company about 7-8 years or at least 5 years. Now the trend has changed, people only work in the company for 2-3 years. After that they will attend to higher position and salary in a new company, in order to have a better life or more resource to cover. Especially the economic is raising up rapidly until people cannot survive with standard salary. Everything has raise up 20% of the original price, but how much of your salary is increase?

If you still have time, probably you can consider which job can help to earn your fist million?

About Printer connection Error Message (0x0000866)

Windows Vista again! I cannot connect it successfully and it prompt me this error message:

Windows ME is released on September 14, 2000. This is how Mirosoft handle the trash:

Effective July 11, 2006, Windows 98, Windows 98 Second Edition, and Windows Me (and their related components) will transition to a non-supported status. After this date, Microsoft will no longer provide any incident support options or security updates. Microsoft is not offering a custom support agreement for these products. Link.

I am not quite sure what is the reason behind why Windows Vista cannot connect the shared printer from Other Windows Operating System. Aren't they from same "family"? However this is the solution:

1) Add a local printer
2) Select the share printer port from "Use an existing port:"
3) Then select according printer driver
4) Complete!
5) You should able to print your document/image now.

Here is where I find the solution.

~eddiekua

About Receptionist

What is Receptionist? Receptionist is an office adminstrative and the first person to interact with the client either through face/phone. Thus, the first impression of the company to the client is given by the receptionist. It's could affect on your business, because clients may loss confidence on your company. What a receptionist should knows about it? Yesterday, I was requesting some information for some products of the company. End up, I have been passing around by the receptoinist through different departments. Some of it, I managed to get my information and some are not. Due to they do not know what is the company working on and what is the department of the company is handling. This is what we say in chinese "人在其位,不谋其职". It's means that you are assign to this job, but you are not doing what it suppose to do.

A receptionist should have this things on hands:

* About the Company. What is your company doing or selling?
* The location of your company? Provide a map and details like phone or fax or email
* General about each departments, if client is asking some details of the product.
* The extension number of the department
* Speak on apporiate volume, tonnes and clear.
* Almost forget, Greeting to the customer and tell your client I am going to pass you to who is in-charge.

~eddiekua

About end of April

It's almost end of April, what have you done so far? I have been working in a new field nearly three weeks here. How was the fields? It's totaly new envirnoment for me and to be honest I could not catch up here well yet. Part of the reason, I am not sure how to involve into the field. During my uni times and previous job, it has alot of pratices and now all these pratices has been gone.

Take as example, in a new century we wants you to drop down what have you learn and how you learn from it; in previous century, they learn through from hard part and they reference this as "experience" and it's part of their own values. To be turth, everyone has it own values and depends how do you define their values. He/She might not as smart as you are, however he/she might have better learning procedures compare to you. One day things will change, if you stay in the hole.

However, it has another type of pratices for olden-days company that you couldn't found the resource in the book. They have their values (aka experience), but the values you couldn't found in any report/documentation and it is not given as prerequisite? So, how you going to do? I believe you need to apply the following skill and it could be some other guide line which I haven't explore yet:

* Self-motivated
* Do it before he asked
* Know when let him make decision instead of you. To show respect of him.
* Humble
* Know how to apporach
* Know how to request
* Observe what is happening
* A lot more that I haven't explore it yet

By the way, alot new movie is coming up which do you plan to watch? Here is my current list:

* IronMan
* The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian
* PromNight
* Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
* WALL.E
* The Incredible Hulk
* Hellboy 2: The Golden Army

~eddiekua

About SnapShots

I found an intreseting web tool - SnapShots. The first impression is quite good, because the improvement on the look and feel, feature, searching, navigator tree, gadget and etc.

However, there is some process quite irritating. For example:

* It request for permission
* It pop up a new small windows
* The background brightness turning low
* It focus on the small windows
* Once it's granted permission, it back to normal brightness

The idea was good to prevent user skip the notify, but imagine you need to apporve few times. You are just like having a flash camera infornt of you, it's make my eyes more tired and cannot focus on the screen.

Another things, I would like to mention it. There is 43,000K memory eaten by dwm.exe. What is dwm.exe file? It is a Desktop Windows Manager to display all the graphical effects such as live window preview and a glass-like frame around windows.

My notebook is built in 2GB of RAM and without any major application turn on, it's takes 42% physical memory. So, if you are planning to get a new PC with windows vista make sure it has 2GB ram and above.

I found out that the telnet client is not installed initially in Windows Vista. You need to enable it by following the steps below:

* Control Panel -> Programs and Features
* Click on "Turn Windows features on or off" at the windows sidebar
* Search for "Telnet Client" and tick on it
* It's done!

~eddiekua

About Job Scope

As Employee:

Do you ever do the job where only deinfe in your job scope? Do you apply a job as following option?

* Internet (JobDB or JobStreet)
* Newspaper or Media
* Referrer (this works very well in certain country)
* Job hunter

You know what it's surprise me? I got a phone call from a Company that they have review my resume and want to ask me for job interview. The resume I have sent it on the past one year! How could that it be?

Look likes the system design in this way:

Fish (employee) go look for a pond/sea (Company) and the fish decide to go on this pond/sea. Then, they put a notice board there. This fish is available EAT ME! However, this depends on the hunter (HR/Manager) want to get this fish or not? He/She might think that I am not hungry YET! OR it could survive by themselves? Or you should tell the fish, the pond/sea is full of fish (respond)?

Eventually, I already got a job past one year ago. Recently, I got a new job. Now they send their hunter over! I think I would die in the fish pond/sea!

~eddiekua

About Orientation

What could you imagine on an orientation? An orientation of school, university, travel or office? Do you think is it necessary have an orientation week? I believe majority people tend to skip orientation week, if it is not compulsory. The reason is because people think that is just another boring day, they could spend hours more effectively. Normally, what does orientation week cover?

* introducing area/colleague
* planning
* uniform
* study time/hours (working office)
* schedule/procedure
* subjects/products
* jobs/course scope

A good planning of orientation might be bring employee/student to another level of training or fasten up the process. In another way, a bad planning of orientation might bring less motivate of employee/student. They might found it less intreseting of the company/university.

At the same time, who could absord those info from the presentation slide or presenter speech? Who is the audience?

* Fresh Graduate
* 1-2 years working experience
* 5-6 years working experience
* Team leader/Manager/Director role position

You may have a proper planning, but could the person absorb all the information that you have given. Would it useful for him/her in their current job/study scope? Then, who should take the resposibilities? This led us back to calculation

* positive + positive = positive
* negative + negative = positive
* positive + negative = negative
* negative + positive = negative

Which side is your company on? and which side are you on? Think it about it :p

~eddiekua

About my first about page

My first blog on this about page!

~eddiekua
