Happy Holidays everybody!  I hope you're having a great time decorating your houses and baking your cookies in preparation for the holidays.  I celebrate Christmas and I'm loving being able to see our Christmas tree from the kitchen as I cook; it makes me smile.  Did you all get your shopping done?  I did a few days ago thankfully, so I had some time today to create an original chocolate

A perfect light lunch.  A delicious side dish.  Dinner for one with a glass of wine when your man is out of town.  This One-Pot Kale and Quinoa Pilaf from The Food52 Cookbook is all of the above.  It's light, delicious, and healthy.  I'm pretty new to quinoa; I've only prepared it a couple of times, but I think I really like it.  As I get older, I'm getting more and more interested in eating

So I've been working on some things behind the scenes, one of which is a blogger group I am now a part of called Virtual Potluck.  Basically we are a group of 12 bloggers that work on projects together and support each other along the way.  Our food blogs come in all shapes and sizes and during the brief time we've been working together, we have learned so many things from each other.

During my last year of school I was so busy with final projects and homework and just trying to make school and work not make me crazy that I had to give up some fun stuff like a super cool cooking club called "The Daring Bakers".  If you've never heard of them, google  it.  They are awesome and being in the club is so much fun.  Well, as you can see I didn't bake anything to share with you

Well, this time of year usually means basketball, right?  I should be watching the Cavs on TV this evening with a cold, delicious Great Lakes Oktoberfest.  But as we all know, that's not gonna happen thanks to this stupid NBA lockout.  If you've been a FOODIE reader for a while, you know I'm a huge Cavs fan, so you can imagine the withdrawals I'm going through.  It's just such a fun

Hi all!  Happy Weekend!  I thought I'd pop on here real quick and share a quick, healthy, and super delicious side dish with you.  Mark was out of town the last couple weeks so I haven't been doing that much cooking.  I mean, I've been making myself dinner most nights, but it's been things like beans and rice with chicken or a salad with chicken tenders on top.  Nothing really worthy of

So here we are kids…  the last day of the Emeril One-Pot Blogger Cooking Party.  It's been a challenge, it's been hectic, it's been delicious, and it's been fun.  I've met some new foodies because of this project and discovered some new food blogs.  I'm still blown away by some of your photography, fellow food bloggers.  It's also fun to see so many other people cook dinner like I do on a

Pasta e Fagiole translates to "Pasta and Beans" in English.  Hmm... it sounds so much fancier in Italian, doesn't it?  As I mentioned in my last post, and probably here and there over the years, my boyfriend is Italian and loves food - cooking it and eating it.  He is also a wealth of knowledge to me when it comes to pronouncing the names of Italian dishes correctly and what they should look

I love giveaways. I just started getting opportunities to do them, but I have to say, they are so fun! I love making someone's day by telling them that they won a prize. Probably because I'm a huge cheesehead sap. But I don't care :-) I love it!
So anyway, I'll bet you want to know who won, right??

Hey guys!  I've been blogger-partying my butt off lately (I know, nerd alert!), and cooking up a storm in the kitchen during the few days I've actually been home.  Phew!  But I was challenged to cook 9 recipes in 3 weeks out of Emeril's new cookbook, Sizzling Skillets and Other One-Pot Wonders, and dang-it, I'm gonna do it!  Plus, it's pretty fun ;-)

By the way...  Emeril's cookbook goes on

I hope you've been enjoying my recent posts chronicling all the cooking I've been doing from Emeril Lagasse's new cookbook, Sizzling Skillets and Other One-Pot Wonders. It's made for a few busy weeks for me, especially with all the traveling we've been doing, but it has been fun.

I've always gravitated toward Emeril recipes for several reasons. One... he's not afraid of garlic and heat. At

Hey everyone! Having a good morning so far? I think I'm still waking up... thank goodness for Starbucks. Yesterday was a long day at the Browns game, but it was worth it because they won! Anyway, a couple days ago Mark and I had a party to go to and we wanted to bring an appetizer that would use up ingredients we already had on hand. Since we had a bag of pita bread in the fridge, I decided we

Hi guys!  Happy Sunday!  It's a beautiful mid-70s degree day here in Cleveland today and I'm about to head out to the Browns game.  Go Browns!  But before I do, I wanted to tell you about another recipe from Emeril's new cookbook, Sizzling Skillets and Other One-Pot Wonders.  I think this one was my favorite so far because it's spicy and tangy... two of my favorite things in a dish.  Plus, now

So if you're anything like me, you sometimes just CRAVE seafood.  Well take a look at this fast and easy pasta taken from Emeril Lagasse's new cookbook, Sizzling Skillets and Other One-Pot Wonders.  It's fresh, simple, comforting, and delicious.  I would say this is another great choice for a weeknight dinner since it's not all that difficult to make and really doesn't have that many

So… are you guys ready to party?  It's almost the weekend, right?  Well, sit back, crack open a cold beer, and let me tell you about a meal that's not only easy to prepare; it will also taste great with that second beer you grab out of the fridge ;-)

Before I begin, let me let you in on what will be going on around here on FOODIE from now until October 1st.  I am honored to be one of 20

So lately I've been really trying to make an effort to eat healthier to not only lose weight, but to just feel good and be healthy. One of the things I started doing is packing my own lunch for work, including my breakfast and snacks, instead of buying it every day at work. It not only saves money, but I can also plan everything I'll eat each day, which makes it SO much easier to make good
