Miley Cyrus's father OKs Teen Choice Awards Pole Dance

Miley Cyrus's father Billy Ray says he approves of her raunchy pole dance at the Teen Choice Awards earlier this month.

The 16-year-old Hannah Montana star cavorted around a stripper pole during a performance of her song Party In The USA at the awards in Los Angeles.

Country singer Billy Ray Cyrus said her moves moves were all good, clean fun.

He said: "You know what? I just think that Miley loves entertaining people. She loves singing and songwriting. I always tell her to love what you're doing and stay focused for the love of the art and not worry so much about opinion.

"I give my kids a lot of freedom to make the art they want to make and make it in their own voice. I think it's important."

Hugh Jackman is set to team up with teen sensation Miley Cyrus in a tween version of The Bodyguard, a movie musical called Personal Security.

Jackman is due play a tough New York police detective who is forced to play bodyguard to a spoiled teen heiress on the receiving end of kidnapping threats - a part lined up for Miley.

Cyrus and Jackman were recently seen lunching with movie executives at Los Angeles hot spot, Morton's Steakhouse .

Chris Brown has been sentenced to 180 hours of community service after he admitted attacking ex-girlfriend Rihanna on the night of the Grammy Awards

The 20-year-old R n'B singer will have to carry out his punishment in his home state of Virginia according to his lawyer.

He escaped jail but has five years' probation and must stay at least 50 yards away from Rihanna - 10 if they attend the same public event.

Rihanna suffered a black eye and bruises after the pair, who left Clive Davis's pre-Grammy party in Brown's silver Lamborghini last year, fought.

Reports said Brown had attacked her in the vehicle after pulling over in street in a Los Angeles neighbourhood.

Sources said he put his hands around Rihanna's neck and said: I'm going to kill you!'

Leaked police pictures showed her right eye blackened and badly swollen and she had scratches and bruising on her arms.

Rihanna arrived at the LA courthouse prepared to testify against Brown but was spared the ordeal when he struck a plea bargain with prosecutors.

Brown sat with his head in his hands during the hearing. He now faces work such as cleaning up highways and cleaning graffiti off buildings.

He will also have go back to court every three months and must enrol in a domestic violence counselling programme.

Singer Lady Gaga has claimed she went blonde after an interviewer confused her with Amy Winehouse.

The 23-year-old ‘ Poker Face’ singer was shocked when an interviewer asked her questions thinking she was the ‘Rehab’ hitmaker and insists she wants to be known for her own style.

“Amy is a badass but I want to be known for my own look,” says Lady Gaga , real name Stefani Germanotta, who took her name from the 1984 Queen hit Radio Ga Ga.

In a cryptic message on her Twitter.com blog last week Miley Cyrus wrote “my heart is in two ... and its all because of you,” which the teen sensation passed off as “a song i am starting to write,” but which some have interpreted as a message to fans about her romance.

According to some insiders a split from her model boyfriend Justin Gaston is on the cards.

Meanwhile Justin has been twittering himself, sending out this anguished missive:

Naked pictures allegedly of Rihanna which have surfaced online may have cost her a cover shoot with Vogue magazine according to reports.

Seven pics, apparently self-taken in a bathroom and bedroom, have spread like wildfire online in spite of attempts by Rihanna's camp to suppress them.

Miley Signs Up for a Fourth Series of 'Hannah Montana'

Teen superstar Miley Cyrus has signed up for a fourth series of 'Hannah Montana'.

Disney Channel spokeswoman Hope Diamond said Cyrus (16) has signed up for another helping of the family friendly sitcom, and filming will begin early next year.

Before that Miley will be busy shooting the Nicholas Sparks drama "The Last Song" and doing a concert tour.

The reaction of George, 48 in five days time, has not been recorded.

Miley went on to add:
"I refuse to date actors as a rule, they’re too good at lying – it’s their job."

Miley Cyrus' Hannah Montana: The Movie banked a huge $17.4 million on Friday making it the best opening-day gross for a (live-action) G-rated movie ever.

The Disney Channel adaptation for the big screen is on pace to bring in more than $30 million over the Easter weekend. Nice work if you can get it.

Apology from Britney Spears

Britney Spears has apologised on her website following her Vancouver show last night. Britney left the stage after only three songs.

Her website stated:
"We want to apologize to all the fans who attended our Vancouver show tonight for the brief pause in Britney's set. Crew members above the stage became ill due to a ventilation issue."

A spokesperson for Orca Bay Sports and Entertainment said that the "ventilation issue" was due to smoke from cigarettes and not marijuana.

Britney returned to the stage after half an hour to some booing from the audience.

While Britney was offstage a message was given out saying, "It’s become uncomfortable and unsafe for the performers, including Ms. Spears. The show will resume as soon as the air around the stage is clear. The performance will not proceed until the air clears."

Britney won the fans over in the end though and they went home happy and humming her songs.

The 'Circus' tour continues and includes stops in the U.S., Canada and the United Kingdom.

Its official , Miley Cyrus is the new Teen Queen demoting Britney Spears to third place. In an online poll conducted by PopEater.com almost 32% of the respondents called the Hanna Montana star their favourite teen idol. Another 10% think she is the best role model.

With 27% of the votes the Jonas Brothers came second , followed by troubled Britney in third place. The Backstreet Boys were voted the greatest teen idols of the 90s. Rob Lowe was voted as the most scandalous idol of all time while goody goody country pop singer Taylor Swift was overwhelmingly named the celebrity who has the best influence on young people.

Spandau Ballet Reform for Comeback Tour

After the years of bad blood, court battles, mutual slagging etc eighties pop group Spandau Ballet are back on the road.

The band announced they will begin a world tour in autumn which kicks off in Dublin on 13 October followed by seven dates across Ireland and the UK.

All five original members of the band, who had hits like Gold and True, got together publicly for the first time in 20 years to make the announcement.

Tickets are on sale for the announced dates now through the band's website.

They will go on general sale at 9am on 28 March.

Spandau Ballet split in 1989 and a bitter feud over song writing royalties went to the High Court ten years later.

Lead singer Tony Hadley did not speak to brothers Gary and Martin Kemp for many years - but they have now set aside their differences.

In a press conference at HMS Belfast in London, the scene of a landmark early gig in 1980, the band told of a gradual reconciliation over the last 18 months.

Gary Kemp said: "This is my other family really and I just missed them for the last 20 years.

"I wanted to get together just to have a chat about all those great experiences we had. To be able to make some new experiences is a really great opportunity and that's what we plan to do."

His brother Martin added:

"Families go through terrible times sometimes and they argue,
but in the end we've got back together - which is the main thing."

Tony Hadley felt the thing that brought them back together was "the realisation that time is a great healer."

In 2003 Tony Hadley said:
"I never want to see those people again - I want to walk away from that side of my life"

Then in 2007:
"I know you should never say never, and bands in the past have said hell would freeze over before they got back together, but in our case I think hell is frozen and we still wouldn't do it."

'Blazingly Sexy' Angelina Ad Banned

A TV ad in the UK for Angelina Jolie's new action film Wanted has been banned by Britain's Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) for glamorising violence.

Advertising watchdog ruled that TV ad for Wanted 'glamorises violence'

It shows Angelina kissing co-star James McAvoy during a high-speed car chase, and both firing guns towards the viewer.

It also includes a voice-over describing the film as "the coolest movie of the year" and Jolie's performance as "blazingly sexy".

The ASA said the ad for the DVD release of Wanted gave the overall impression "that using guns was sexy and glamorous" and told Universal Pictures the ad must not be broadcast again in its current form.

Jennifer Aniston to be Bond Girl?

Jennifer Aniston is being considered for a role in the next James Bond film. The 40 year-old ex-'Friends' star, who recently expressed an interest in appearing in the British spy film franchise, is expected to be offered a screen test for the sequel to 'Quantum Of Solace' starring Daniel Craig.

A source at EON, the production company which makes the Bond films, said: “Jennifer has all the qualities we are looking for in a Bond girl. She has to be beautiful but she also needs to have brains. It helps if she’s athletic and able to keep up with intense stunt work a Bond movie demands. It is likely she’ll be called in to meet producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson soon.”
Jennifer previously said of her Bond aspirations: "I get offered funny, quirky, pretty roles. But I'd love to do an action movie. James Bond - glamour. Daniel Craig. Loads of fun.”

Miley...like upset

Miley Cyrus has been talking about how upset she was when Radiohead refused to meet her backstage at the Grammy Awards.

Though only four doors away Thom Yorke and his Radiohead mates would not come meet her or even let her visit their dressing room. And, sadly, she'd already texted her friends that she was going to get to meet them.

"If someone, like, said that, like, 'I would cry if I met them. I really want to meet them,' I would freaking, like, run and, like, give them the biggest hug in the world because that's cool, you know?" said Miley talking on the "Johnjay & Rich" radio show. "But they were like, 'We don't really do that.' "

"I had already texted all my friends!" she added rather poignantly.
A spokesperson for Radiohead has responded with: “When Miley grows up, she’ll learn not to have a sense of entitlement.”

So Radiohead with whom Miley claimed to be "freakishly obsessed" come off the Cyrus Christmas Card list.

On a positive note Coldplay's Chris Martin, was like so cool and hung out with her backstage and everything at the show.

Angelina Jolie has been named as everyone’s favourite "Yummy Mummy" in an online pre Mother’s Day poll conducted by MSN .

The star has six children - three adopted (Maddox, Zaharat and Pax Thien) and three with partner Brad Pitt (Shiloh Nouvel and twins Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline). She still manages to find time for her busy acting career and humanitarian activities, all the time looking gorgeous.

Angelina polled 30% of the votes with stunning Halle Berry coming second and Reese Witherspoon third. Kate Winslet, Katie Holmes and Gwyneth Paltrow also featured in the top ten.

The survey was compiled to mark Mother's Day in Britain, March 22nd.

Jonas Brothers World Tour Kicks off in Peru

The Jonas Brothers have announced their first world tour, beginning May 19 in Lima, Peru. The bros will spend the end of May performing in South America with dates in Peru, Chile, Argentina, and Brazil before beginning the North American leg of their tour on June 20 in Dallas, Texas. Tour dates in Europe, Australia, and Asia are still to be determined.

Opening acts include season 6 American Idol winner Jordin Sparks and Honor Society, a band which describes itself on their MySpace page as "where the great arena-rock acts of the eighties meet modern pop and hip-hop shows" which should be fun.

The Jonas Brothers say they’ve been working on new material (from their upcoming June 15th album and Disney TV show, Jonas) in the studio and “can’t wait for the fans to hear our new music.” A “Water Screen and other crazy stuff” are promised for the production, which includes a new stage.
