[REVIEW] 10 Days Face Detox: Medina Organic Kefir Mask

There is this hype in Indonesia which is a treatment to detoxify our face by putting on Kefir as a mask. Kefir is like a yogurt, but mostly made from goats milk. It is rich in probiotics, thus very healthy when consumed. Kefir is also believed beneficial for the skin when being used as a mask. The probiotics and dairy contains in the Kefir is believed to create more supple skin and to cure many impurities of skin. Several celebrity in Indonesia uses Kefir mask to neutralise their skin after days and days of thick makeup. One of the pioneers of Kefir mask brand is Medina Organic Kefir, a brand made by one of Indonesian celebrity, Ina Thomas. In this post, I will deliver my 10 day experience using Medina Organic Kefir.

Product

Each pack of Medina Organic Kefir has 10 small plastic package of Kefir. Each small plastic is used for 2 times usage. One for morning, one for night time. To detoxify our skin, this product should not be used with any type of skincare. The texture of the product is like yogurt but with an additional soft kefir scrub. The scrub will melt easily once being in contact with warm water. So I assume that the scrub is made from pure good fat from the Kefir. The type of Kefir that I bought is the Green Tosca that is designed for normal to oily skin.

Price

For a package of the Medina Organic Kefir Mask costs IDR.330.000. This is a bit more pricy compared by other Kefir mask product available in online shops. However, the Medina Organic Kefir had received many great feedbacks from its users, including many socialite in Jakarta. It is definitely worth the hype to try.

Where To Buy

Ina Thomas sells this product by having several suppliers in many different cities around Indonesia. Since this product should always being kept cool, make sure to purchase it from the nearest supplier. The supplier could be found in Instagram. Since I am living in Yogyakarta, I've purchased mine from Instagram account @medinakefir_jogja

Usage

During the 10 days detox, I did not put any other skin care in my face. Some days I use makeup in the morning. I use the Kefir mask twice a day, once right after bed, and once before bed. The Kefir mask should be kept frozen all the time. Thus, I took some time to melt the small package in a room temperature. After melted, I put half of the product in a glass bowl and put the remaining in the freezer for night usage.

Usage Experience

Half of the small package will be able to cover all of my face area, including my neck area. I put a very thin layer to it in order to make it fit. Because it is from the fridge, obviously it gives a very cooling effect. Unlike many other masks, the Medina Organic Kefir Mask does not give any tingling effect at all. This is a good sign of its organic and pure ingredients. To explain my experience of using Medina Organic Kefir Mask, I will highlight the result it brings in several days of usage.

Day 1:

My skin is super oily during the day. I also have many small blackheads and small acne on my face. I also have several scar in my cheek resulted from my previous acne. My pores are super large, and I also have hyper-pigmentation in several areas of my skin.

Day 4:

I've noticed that my skin seems a bit lighter than before. My skin also felt so much smoother. The pores in my skin seems to be smaller. The blackheads in my nose cannot be felt anymore.

Several small blackheads in my forehead tends to grow into small acne.

The dark spots in my cheeks started to blur. Just like my forehead, the blackheads in my cheeks also started to turn into small acne. I honestly was scared of continuing this product in this stage. However, I am still curious about the effect in 10 days.

Day 7:

My skin felt super soft! During the day, my skin produces less oil than before. I love how it helps me to reduce those unpleasant oil.

However, the small acne in my forehead seems to grow even more. Although acnes were developed, the acne is very dry. It is unlike the acne that I usually have.

Pores are significantly reduced. Black spots are also reduces. The small acne in my cheeks is also drying just like the one in the forehead.

Day 10:

This the end of the detox mask. In this stage, I felt my skin is at its healthiest as ever! It is very supple. My makeup stayed on better. The texture of my skin also supports me to put less makeup than before. I used to be so dependent with foundations. But after the detox period, it is enough for me to put on just powder for my daily makeup.

The acnes in my forehead looks completely dry. I've just have to wait for some times for it to completely disappear. I made a personal conclusion that the acnes that were developed is a part of a detoxing result. This is because the acne dries instantly and the skin rejuvenate by its own.

After Effect

After 10 days of religiously using the Medina Organic Kefir Mask as a detox mask, I've felt several significant effect to my skin. Those are:

Tighter pores.
Brighter skin.
Reduced of blackheads.
Drying acne.
Reduced black spots.
Reduced excess oil during the day.
More supple and soft skin.

Conclusion

This particular product is a product that needs patience and persistence! Yes, since it is organic and made from 100% pure natural product, I admit that it does not give an instant effect. However, it does significantly help into making my skin becomes healthier. I personally think that this mask is one of a must to do once every two months perhaps. For individuals like me who had tons of skin care product and makeup being used in a daily basis, the detox mask will definitely helps to give the skin some time to rest. I definitely will use it again.

[REVIEW] Giordani Gold Voluptuous Lipstick By Oriflame

Giordani Gold is one of the product line of Oriflame, a Swedish cosmetics company that sells its product through multi-level marketing scheme. Oriflame itself is very popular in Indonesia and adored by many women of Indonesia. I personally rarely used Oriflame, but I have to give it a try on one of their premium line, Giordani.

Giordani Gold Voluptuous Lipstick is designed to be one of Oriflame luxury line that are inspired by the elegance and elusive of classical Italian lifestyle. Each of the Giordani Gold Voluptuous Lipstick is sold for IDR. 198.000 which is actually quite a premium price for a lipstick. Its luxury is obviously shown by its packaging. The lipstick is packaged in a very exclusive and sleek glass package, decorated with gold details. I personally adore the packaging.

The shade that I decide to get is called Fuchsia Petals. It is a settle red dipped with just a scent of purple in their shade. The product however offer two other shades that I did not get.

The amount of product inside the package is not as generous as what I've expect it to be. The shape of the lip product is like a small tube with a flat top. I personally prefer the traditional lipstick shape that has a more narrow shape at its top to make the application on my lips becomes easier. However, the round flat tube shape of the Giordani Gold lipstick makes it a bit challenging for me to apply.

The consistency of the lipstick itself is very velvet and moisturising. It is super moisturising that it adds an instant glow. Honestly it is not a good thing for a matte lover like me. Just like any other moisturising lip product, the Giordani Gold lipstick needs an extra swipe on the application for perfect pigmentation.

The application in my lips tends to make my face looks a bit older than I am. It is super glossy which I am also not a fan of.

This is what it looks like after finishing one meal. As you can see that all the product has disappeared in my lips. But if we look closely the lip product leaves a tinted red to my lips. So yes it does stains a bit.

FINAL RATING:
I will give the Giordani Gold Voluptuous Lipstick a 6/10. I like the packaging so much. The moisturising effect does helps too. However, I am not a fan of its colour and its consistency. The pricing is also a bit overpriced for this quality in my honest opinion.

[REVIEW] Bourjois Volume Glam Max Mascara

Bourjois is always stepping up its game when it comes to mascara. I found that Bourjois mascara has a very good quality. When I took a stroll at Sogo Plaza Senayan, I stopped by the Bourjois stall that has sale promotion and bought one of their mascara line, the Bourjois Volume Glam Max Mascara. The price of this product is IDR. 175.000. This is a higher price compared to other drugstore mascara.

The Bourjois Volume Glam Max Mascara has a very thick bristles that will allow the product to be spread thicker. The consistency of the mascara itself is thick and sticky. The wand is very steady that allows the application to be easier.

Before Mascara

I don't have many eyelashes to work on. That's why I've always wanted a very thick and full result of lashes after an application of a mascara. I rely much on mascara!

After Application

During the application, it turns out that the trick and sticky consistency of the mascara paste makes it difficult to apply. After each swipe of product, the paste will turn leave a very thin "spider web" like lines that will stick to my eye lids when I blink. As you can see in the picture above, some of the mascara were accidentally stick to my lids.

After Application

The after result seems to be not thick enough for me. I don't think that the mascara gives volume like what I've imagined it to be. The very sticky consistency makes my lashes sticks to each other instead of giving it more volume.

FINAL RATE:

I rate this product to be a 4/10.

[REVIEW]: X-pert Good Affordable Eyelashes

I honestly always adore women that has great lashes, although they are just using fake lashes. However, I never had the guts to wear fake lashes for daily makeup.

When I went to my favourite beauty store in town (the legendary Toko Mutiara), I stopped by the lashes stalls and fell in love with the Xpert brand. The fake lashes brand offers such a huge variety of lashes, from the very thin to the dramatic thick lashes. Moreover, the price of the lashes are super affordable.

I'd like to start first with the lash glue. The Xpert lash glue is only sold for IDR. 30.000. This is such an affordable price compared to the other great lash glue brands. The shop attendance said that the lash glue is really good. It stayed on well and it dries fast. And she was right! I love how the glue is actually has a clear colour thus helps the applications to be more natural. The lash glue itself indeed dried up fast, so I admit that we need to work on it super fast. It stayed on very well after the application, however I found it to be not so long lasting. The edge of the lashes tends to went off after about 5 hours of applications, especially when the face gets super oily. So better make sure to bring the glue in hand if we have super long day.

For the lashes, the brand comes in huge range of lash type. The type that I choose to buy is No.30. This particular fake lashes I see it to be quite decent for natural looking lashes. The lashes is sold only for IDR.9.000. Great bargain right?!

After the application of the X-pert lashes in No.30, my lashes becomes naturally full. What I like about this particular lashes is that it works well both for daily neutral makeup, or dramatic smoky makeup.

The only downside of the X-pert lashes are the band of the lashes. The bands are quite thick compared to other lashes I've tried before. It makes it quite difficult to work with when we try to make it as natural as possible.

PROS:

+ Affordable price

+ Natural finish

+ Wide variety

+ Glue works well

CONS:

- Thick band

- Glue does not stay on long enough

CONCLUSION:

I love it. Although there are several cons about this product, however it can still be managed well. The fact that the lashes are super affordable is a plus for me because it enables us to use these lashes on daily basis without the guilt.

I rate this product to be 7/10.

[REVIEW] Mane 'n Tail Daily Control 2 in 1 Shampoo + Conditioner

I know that I am very late to talk about the magic of Mane 'n Tail hair products. The hype was just sooooo yesterday. I was very sceptical about the hype at first. Because for me, shampoo is just shampoo. No significance to buy the cheap or expensive one. But I was wrong..:D

I've purchased my first Mane 'n Tail shampoo in Guardian just because I found a great bargain in their monthly sale. So I said to myself, "why not treat my hair with some pricy shampoo".

The shampoo itself contains olive oil that will nourishes our hair quite well. The conditioners will provide shine to our hair. The shampoo has an anti dandruff formula that really suits me well at this time.

I am so happy with the after result of the first time usage on this product. My hair becomes very easy to handle. My hair is usually frizzy after every shampoo. But with this product, my frizz significantly reduced. There is also an instant shine without having to put additional hair product in my hair.

I believe that this product is worth the investment. Will I repeat the purchase? Definitely yes!

[REVIEW]: Nivea Lip Butter

Nivea Lip Butter

My lips has been super chapped lately. Usualy I use the Paw Paw balm that will instantly cure the dryness of my lips. But unfortunately I ran out of it. It is almost impossible to find Paw Paw Balm in Indonesia, thus I cannot easily repurchase.

So I was very excited finding the Nivea Lip Butter in Guardian. It was sold for IDR.38.000, a very affordable and reasonable price for lip balms.

I have tried the imported version of Nivea Lip Butter. The imported version worls very well at me. So I was wondering if the Indonesia version is as well as the imported version.

In Guardian Yogyakarta, there are 4 variants of the Nivea Lip Butter, which are Original, Vanilla and Macadamia, Raspberry Rose, and Cocoa Butter. I've decided to purchase the Raspberry Rose and the Vanilla and Macadamia. The reason is simple. It is because I am addicted to vanilla and berries.

Nivea Lip Butter: Raspberry Rose

The Raspberry Rose had similar scent to Soda Gembira, a traditional drink that is famous in Indonesia. The Vanilla and Macadamia had similar scent to Vanilla cake frosting. Yes I'm such a sweet tooth!

Nivea Lip Butter: Vanila and Macadamia

The product comes in a small tin jar filled with 16.7gr of product. The tin jar is very good quality as it is steady and firm. I don't have to worry about it spill in my bag.

The consistency of the Nivea Lip Butter is like a thick packed gel. It is scented beautifully. The smell of the product is very tender and not overwhelming. But it is enough to give motivation to put it on religiously. The thick consistency makes it quite hard to melt. However, I find it positive because it allows us to control the amount of product to be put in our lips. I have to remind you that al little goes a long way.

What I love about the product is the after effect of the usage. Our lips doesn't look greasy at all while it is still very moisturising. Although the Raspberry Rose variant has a slight pink color, when being applied in my lips, it doesn't give any colors at all. I personally love lip balms that does not give colors since it will not effect the color of my lipstick. The Nivea Lip Balm itself is very moisturising. Thus, it does quite a quick job to fix chappy lips. It took me 3 days to fix my chappy lips.

The only dislike that I have is the fact that the product is packaged in a small rounded tin jar. I find it less hygine for the long term since we have to continously dip our fingers in it.

Overall, I really love this product! It is affordable and it really does the job well.

I rate this product to be a 9/10.

In my previous article, I have posted my experience shopping in Althea, an online platform that sells Korean cosmetics and skin care at an affordable price. I was overly excited to open the package, especially because of the great packaging they present.

I've bought 4 main items that was an "editor picks" in their website. I am quite not well informed about current Korean beauty trends, so I've just ordered those that were recommended by the editor of Althea.

ITEMS PURCHASED:

1. It's My Perfume Hand Cream

My hands are currently very dry. So I was so tempted to buy these hand cream. These hand cream was detailed to be moisturising without greasing your hand. It comes in 4 options of fragrance. For my purchase, I've decided to choose "Sugar Day" and "Honey Berry". Each of these hand cream was sold for IDR.28.000 in Althea.

2. Mamie Blue Pack Mask From B&Soap

This mask was recommended by the editors of Althea because of it's soothing effect and it's ability to purify pores. I've decided to purchase this because of it's peppermint scent (I'm a big fan of peppermint). The mask looks like the dupe of Lush Face mask. The Mamie Blue Pack was sold for IDR.158.000 in Althea.

3. Under-arm Perfume Peeling Pads

I am never confident with my armpits. My skin is super sensitive and I am allergic to my own sweat. This leads to making parts of my body that tend to sweat to become dark, especially on my armpits area. Of course, this product just sold me in seconds! Plus, it was on SALE! This was sold for IDR.90.000 for 6 packs.

4. Get It Dual Brow Pencilcara in Natural Brown

I am not great when it comes to creating a sleek looking eyebrow. It always took me ages to make a "quite good" eyebrow. So I've always like to try new options of Eyebrow tools. This product has eyebrow pencil that are retractable and an eyebrow mascara in one items. In Althea, this was sold for IDR.125.000.

HOW MUCH I PAY IN TOTAL

I was actually supposed to pay IDR429.000 for all of my order. But I've received a discount of IDR.100.000 because of coupon, and an additional discount of IDR.5.600 because of first purchase. I did not have to pay any shipping fee since I've purchased the product in their promotional session where free shipping was applied for every purchase above IDR.300.000. So, in total, I only have to pay IDR.323.400 for all of my purchases. Great deal huh???!!!!!

Since the website is modified according to countries, the price presented in the Indonesian website has been converted directly to Indonesian Rupiah. So unlike other international website, in Althea, we don't have to be crazily confused with converting the currency of the price we need to pay. During the checkout process, I could not find any shipping options. Unlike any other international shopping websites that allows customer to choose their shipping options from the fastest to the slowest shipping options.

2. Handling Time

The handling time took a while. It took more than 1 week since I conduct payment to the day I received a notification that my orders has been shipped. That is too long in my personal opinion! I've put my order on Saturday, 14 May 2016, and received my tracking number on Tuesday, 24 May 2016. However, the shipping time was quite fast, counted since the day I've received my tracking number. I've received my package on Saturday, 28 May 2016.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Will I repurchase again from Althea? Definitely YES!!! I love the quality of the product and also the great packaging. The price is a bargain, compared to when purchasing in Indonesia.

[REVIEW]: Sulwhasoo Basic Set

Sulwhasoo Basic Set (Travel Size Set)

So the story begins when my favourite Obstetricians which is also the sister in-law of my best friend posted a post of her Sulwhasoo purchase. Sulwhasoo is one of the infamous Korean luxury beauty product that many people raved about. Some said that it is the "SK II of Korea". Short story short, I asked her about her instant review on the set and she replied with a very positive feedback. I was so tempted to try.

Since the product itself is so pricy, so I contacted the online shop that I usualy purchase my imported cosmetics at to ask if she has the Suwhalsoo Basic Set in the travel size. Lucky me, she has it! I think it is perfect to give me an opportunity to try on the product for a month or so before purchasing the actual size for millions of rupiah. I've purchased the travel sized sets for IDR.370.000/set.

My Sulwhasoo Basic Set 1 Week Experience:

From Left to Rirght: Balancing Water + Balancing Emulsion + Renewing Cream + First Care Activating Serum + Eye Cream

Day 1:

I tried my first attemp at night time after having a quick search on the internet on the steps to use it. The order of the usage are Serum + Balancing Water + Balancing Emulsifier + Renewing Cream + Eye Cream. I was so happy with the feel of my skin at that instance. It was so soft and elastic. However, when I woke up the next day, my skin is super greasy.

Day 2:

I woke up with a super greasy skin. Just like my usual morning routine, I wash my face with a luke warm water. After rinsing my face, I was so surprised with how supple my face feels. I never felt that satisfied before with my skin. After taking a shower, I put on the Sulwhasoo Basic Set in the orders just like Day 1. After that, I put on my makeup. It was okay when I was just done with my makeup. But after 15 minutes, my skin becomes glowing as a result of the oils. Then I went to do my routinity. Just during lunch, my face was super greasy. It was so greasy that it basically melts my makeup. Even my waterproof mascara! That was quite a day! Then at night before bed time, I use it again in the same order as Day 1.

Day 3:

After rinsing my face in the morning, I've noticed that my zits has significantly disapeared. I was so surprised with it since it gives me a greasy result on the usage. This motivates me to keep on using the product. I use the same order as Day 1 as my day cream routine. The same result occured. Greasy as always! At night, the same routine was applied.

Day 4:

I've noticed that my pores shrinks significantly giving a more healthy looking skin. In the morning, I still use the same routine. Then I went to Plaza Senayan to ask directly to Sulwhasoo beautycians about the proper way to use it and also delivering my concerns about the product. She gave great advices! So at night, I changed the order of usage into Balancing Water + Serum + Balancing Emulsifier + Renewing Cream + Eye Cream. It is just like what the beautycians suggest.

Day 5:

I still woke up with a super greasy skin. But after a good rinse, my face gets better and better. For the morning routine, I put on the Balancing Water + Balancing Emulsifier + Eye Cream only. The beautycian I met the other day suggested this to make my skin less greasy during the day. And it is true! However, my skin is still greasy although it is not as greasy as the days before it. At night, I use it in the order like Day 4.

Day 6:

Using it the exact same way as Day 5. Similar result.

Day 7:

My skin felt super healthy. The blackheads in my nose starting to melt. However, since I cannot stand the grease during the day time, I've decided not to use the Sulwhasoo Basic Set in the day time. After stopping my usage of Sulwhasoo Basic Set during the day time and switch it to my usual moisturiser, my skin instantly becomes not greasy during the day. However, at night time, I still use Sulwhasoo Basic Set as my night routine.

Quick comments on the Sulwhasoo Basic Set:

• It makes my skin super oily. My skin is oily combination skin. So I believe that the Sulwhasoo Basic Set will suits well for dry skin individuals.

• It is able to transforms our skin into a healthier looking skin in just an instance. I think it is worth the investment to have.

• Due to its greasing effect, individuals with oily combination skin like me might need to re-consider the decision of using it as a day cream routine. I personally had decided to use it as night cream only.

I hope this article can make us less confused (galau) of whether to purchase or not. For luxury skin product like these, I suggest to do research and also trial error with the sample size or the travel size before purchasing the actual size that can cause you fortunes.

What I do when I buy too pale lipstick?

I am just so into nudes. That's why I sometimes go crazy when finding nude lips products. Especially if it is drugstore products. I adore..!!! Unfortunately, sometimes the colour looks good on my hands, but pale on my lips.

Those lip colours that were too pale on me used to be just thrown out in my makeup basket to be untouched. Recently I've been experimenting on mixing on lip colours. The pale, mixed with the darker lipsticks or lip gloss.

The result is stunning! What I love about mixing colours is the fact that the colours actually tend to be build-able. If you want darker shades, just put on more of the dark colours. And if you want lighted shades, you just need to do the other way around. This is just a great solution to have new colours to your lips without even buying new ones.

One of the most favourite mixture of colours that I love recently is the Maybelline Bold Matte in MAT7 mixed with the Maybelline Velvet Matte in MAT12. I love the after result of the soft nude peachy pink colour that is so much suited for a natural everyday look.

The Legendary Leker Paimo: The Street Stalls

My husband and I recently just went for a short weekend escape to Semarang. We were aware that our hometown, Jogja will be very crowded during the long weekend period so we've decided to escape to Semarang and Solo for the long weekend. Our main destination in both of those cities are the culinary adventure. Yes.. We both like to bite and munch!

One of the legendary culinary spot in Semarang that many people recommend is the Leker Paimo. Leker is a crispy crepes filled with the desired fillings (usually chocolate chips, cheese, condense milk, or peanuts). However, Leker Paimo also provides the savoury flavour such as spicy tuna or beef sausage that is served and made like an omelet. The savoury flavour is something that I found unique in Leker Paimo since it is not found in any other crepes store

Leker Paimo is just a small stall of street food located right in front of Loyola College/High School that can be found at Jl. Karanganyar No.37, Semarang. The stall is open since 10AM till 5PM. However, since it is very crowded, it is important to come early to get our order just like what we've wanted. The price of each portion is very affordable starting from IDR.4000 (around 40 cents) to IDR.10.000 (less than 1 dollar). Although it is sold in a very affordable price, the taste is quite good. It is classic and authentic!

On the first day of our arrival, we went straight to Leker Paimo. If not mistaken, it was about at 4PM. We did not know its operating hours at first. We did not expect that it is that crowded also. Upon our arrival, we were asked to write our orders in a piece of paper with our name in it. That we were asked to wait. And when they meant wait, it is no kidding. We've waited for an hour! Yes, an hour with not certainty of when our orders will be made. But people (including us) still waited anyway.. LOL..!

I was joking with my husband asking him "what if we've waited for so long, and the materials to make our crepes is empty before they are able to make our orders??". My husband at that time answered that they have made a calculation and will stop the people from ordering once they felt that the raw materials will not be enough. So we've patiently waited.

But........ My husband prediction was wrong... HAHAHAHA..!!!

After an hour waiting under the heat, the seller (with no regret) saying that there are no more materials to make the crepes to the buyer that has been waiting for ages in their stalls. ZONK MOMENT!! We were speechless!

The Savoury Crepes

Since I don't want to leave the place empty handed, I've asked the seller if she could just sell the crepes that has been made to us (the unattended orders). The seller agreed, and we received just one peace of the savoury crepes. I honestly is a not a big fan of the savoury crepes.

Lesson learned: COME EARLY!

So the the next day, we've decided to come to the location exactly at 10AM. The crowd is not as crowded as the previous day. We also did not wait for the crepes as long as the previous day. Since we don't really fancy the savoury crepes, we've ordered a box of the sweet crepes. I like the crispy sweet crepes with banana+chocolate+cheese fillings the best.

My comment about the crepes.. Well.. It's not bad at all. It's good tasting actually. But in my honest opinion, it's just not worth the wait.

Thank God For The Never Ending Blessings..

"I've knocked on so many doors before, and God did not let me in. He said "wait".. And He was right.. Once He opened the door for me, everything was in the perfect time.."

The year 2016 has been a blast for me. God has been so kind in giving me presents of blessings that I would never had enough of thanking Him for His blessings. Two of the greatest blessings received this year is being accepted as Ph.D students at RMIT University, Australia and also being an awardee of LPDP scholarship.

Continuing school has been a dream of mine right after I've completed my master degree. I want to be an academician that is an expert in the field of study that I am passionate with. I want to be someone big! Someone inspiring! Someone that is influential enough to deliver good deeds to the world! With all the passion and the vibes that I have, God teaches me to calm down. To wait.. He teaches me a great lesson which at that time I called "failure". Today, I call it blessings..

Why blessings? Well, without the "blessings", I would not be having such a great and supportive supervisors that are so communicative and cared about my study. They have so much passion in the research that I will conduct as much as the passion that I put into. They motivate me and pushed me to my highest limit. Moreover, one "blessings" deliver another "blessings". Being accepted as an awardee for one of the most prestigious scholarship in Indonesia called LPDP. The timing was perfect. I was already settled for my enrolment. My family is more settled than last year. Moreover, my emotion has been fully settled for my future study.

Being an LPDP awardee had changed my perspective of how Indonesian future will be. As many people put pessimism in the Indonesian future, looking at the people attending the LPDP awardee scholarship event (PK-63 Satya Nagari) deliver faith and positive vibes about Indonesian Future. Indonesia is so blessed to have such gifted yet talented youth that loves their country so much and willingly to work side by side for a better Indonesia.

I met so many great Indonesian individuals in the events. Those with great passion and great personality. Those that are very humble although having many achievements in their shoulders. Meeting them showed me that I have so many things to catch up in order to great. I felt like a piece of dust in the Sahara dessert. They are another motivation for me to work harder, and contribute more to my country.

I am one of those girls who believed that using anti-aging products should start early. So I've started using anti-aging products since two years ago, when I was 23 years old. One problem of anti-aging product is the way that it delivers excess oils to my skin. This is not a good thing for oily skin like me. So after hearing about Loreal Revitalift Magic Blur, I've just got sold away with it since the Loreal shop attendance promise that this product will be able to matify our skin after applications and make our skin less greasy during the day.

The information given by the shop attendance (that this product will matify our skin) are not written in the product description in the packaging. So I was quite sceptical with the "matifying effect".

According to the packaging: The Opti-Blur Technology diffuses light on skin to immediately blur lines, wrinkles, and pores. Enriched with Pro-Retinol A, it fights the sign of aging for an anti-wrinkle action over time and a younger looking skin. The Loreal Revitalift Magic Blur instantly blurs the look of lines, pores, and imperfections. Day after day, it will reduce the sign of aging, wrinkles are reduced. Skin feels firmer and skin tone looks more even.

The texture is creamy but bouncy like a pudding. Unlike other "anti-aging" products in the marketplace, the Loreal Revitalift Magic Blur is less greasy. A little goes a long way. I love how this product does not require to put too much on. The product itself absorbs quite fast to the skin.

Right after application, I felt that it does not give a full matifying effect. There are glows in my skin. However, it is not as excessive as the effect of the previous anti-aging cream that I've used. What I noticed to be true about this product is the ability to directly reduce the pores right after application.

After approximately 5 hours after applications, I felt that my skin is as greasy as always. The oil is excessive in my T-zone area. However, I am quite surprised of how this product does not fade up my makeup. Overall, I am quite optimistic about this product. Looking forward to how it will be after long-term application.

[REVIEW]: Does Brows Silicone Mat Drawing Guide Really Works???

When it comes to brows, I put my hands up! I am never an expert with brows. So that is why I am very happy and excited when seeing the Mini Brow Class Drawing Guide by Etude House. I was quite sceptical about this product at first since I've received many bad impressions about this type of drawing tools from my friends. However, I still hope that this product will bring miracle to my brows. *pray*

The product comes in three brow stencils that can be used to three different looks. The material of each stencils is like a thin silicone mat. Although there are a clear instruction guide in the packaging of how to use it, all of the writings are in Korean. Since I don't understand Korean, so I just give it a try on how I perceived to use it.

For my office look today, I decided to put on stencil number 3. I think it is the least dramatic stencils they have in this package. What I do at first is to put the dotted lines at the edge of my natural brow-line. The dotted line should be put up straight.

After making sure that the stencils had been located correctly, I filled up the stencils using a short strokes motion. Please note not to draw an outline on the stencils. This will make the result less natural.

Then I buff out the outer layer with a blending brush. This is to intensify the gradation of the brow. (Please forgive my messy brow. I haven't clean them yet >.<)

The result of the stencils is not too bad. The stencils can also be a good guide to locate where you can plug your brows to neaten it up (which I did afterwards).

The stencils performs a natural looking brows. Bravo! It's a miracle!!!

I am very satisfied with the result. I think this is a miracle product for those of you out there who has a problem with "the brows" - just like me. I am for sure looking forward to test the remaining stencils to see how it looks like.

[BANGKOK TRIP]: Lunch with the best Food in Town!

Great Place, Great Atmosphere

It was a super tiring day at that time when in Bangkok.We've just arrived at Bangkok, and haven't got the time to rest at our hotel. We took a Ferry Boat to Khao San Road, Bangkok, Thailand. We had heard a review about a great place to eat Tom Yam at that place.

The place is called "Tom Yam Kung". This place is quite hard to find since it is not directly seen in the main road. But instead, we have to walk on a very small street first to reach this place. But if we can have access to the Google Maps, we can easily spot that "small street" I was talking about.

The Menu's Price List

Although the restaurant looks a bit "fancy" compared to other restaurant in that street, for the price it is quite affordable and reasonable. The restaurant also provide credit card or debit card transaction. This makes it easier for international tourist like us that needs to save up cash in the beginning of the trip.

The Shared Menu Plate

The portion of the food is quite a big portion. So it is more recommended to share the menu with friends or families. I ordered the seafood Tom Yam and the Fragranced Grilled Chicken. The taste??? It is theeee booommmmssszzzz...

The best Thai Mango Sticky Rice

My favourite menu of all is actually the dessert. The Mango Sticky Rice. The Mango is very ripe and the sticky rice is sweet. It has a delicious coconut scent to it. It is also served with fragranced coconut milk and creamy coconut ice cream. So mouth-watering!!! This dessert is the dessert I've missed the most in Bangkok.

[FIRST IMPRESSION]: Activa Define Firming Mask

I have been super obsessed lately with facial masks. It's all started back from my trip in Bangkok where I bought several recommended facial masks by my Thai friends. The hype went on and on until today. While shopping at one of the nearest Guardian Shops, the shop attendance promoted the Activa Devine Firming Mask. The packaging itself is not too attractive, but I give it a try since the shop attendance promise that this is the most recommended masks available (...so I got sold away...).

The price of this mask is IDR.35.000. Each package only have one sheet of mask that for sure can only be used once! Although it is still affordable, the price of this mask is still above the average price of retailed masks. Looking at the ingredients of this mask, is is filled with good things inside it.

What I love about this mask is the fact that it is "fragrance free". Thus, I am more confident that this mask does not add unnecessary ingredients to my face. Unlike many other "nourishing masks" that are usually slimy and oily, this masks is actually more like a water base masks that is cooling without the grease. It is like putting on a toner throughout my entire face. Since it is like a water base, this mask actually dries up quite fast.

I usually put on facial masks during night time before bed. After the mask paper dries up, I took it of and does not rinse my face after. This is because I felt that it will be able to make my face absorbs more of the good things inside the product to my face.

In the next morning after rinsing my face, I felt that my face is soft and supple. However, I did not directly feel the "nourishing effect" that is usually shown by a glowing skin. I did not also feel a significant difference that this product directly delivers. But I think it is more because of its least chemical ingredients so that it will gradually delivers effects instead of delivering direct effects.

Masks can really pamper your skin! So give your skin a gift by nourishing it with Facial Masks.

I am not a big fan of red lips for daily makeup. I just don't get the confidence to wear such colors to work. However, I just felt so comfortable wearing this particular red shade. The shade is not too "flashy" for work. The red lipstick have a purple undertone to it making it more settle for usage.

I also love the tingling effect with mint scents that it delivers just right after applications. The color is very true when applied. However, the after effect is not as matte as most matte lip products. This particular lip product have a slight shine effect to it. It is also not "kissed-proof", thus needed continuous touch-up during the day.

There has been a super hype in Indonesia lately on this Purbasari Matte Lipstick. This product has been one of the most wanted lip product for most Indonesian women. This lip product is super affordable. The super high demand makes it super hard to find.

I bought mine at the Guardian Kalibata City Store. They don't have the complete shade. I chose to buy the shade Crystal (No.90). The store does not have Testers to try on. They don't also supply all the range of colors.

Surprisingly, the texture of this product is not too bad. It glides on quite well. The pigmentation of the product is also quite outstanding. They have a very sweet scent like a Framboise Syrup.

So well done Purbasari! It is worth the hype!

LOTD: Mineral Botanica Intense Vivid Color In Shade Orchid Pink

Botanica is one of the brand that my makeup lover friends quite talk about. Not just because of the affordable price, but also because the quality.

Because of the hype, I've decided to give it a try on their lip product. The first one that I bought is the Intense Vivid Color Series.

The product itself is a super creamy and sticky texture packaged with a wand applicator just like any other lip cream products in the marketplace.

The texture is super creamy and sticky. I felt that it is more like a glue than a lipcream. It is fragranced with a very strong candy like scent. I love how it is scented.

When applying to lips, this product needs quite a time to perfectly set. Once it is set, it will become matte and unstransferable. After it is set, I find it quite difficult to remove well. Even with a proper makeup remover. In other words, this product does stains!

For the color, I think I've chosen the wrong shade for my skin color. I chose this color based on the recommendation delivered by the shop attendance. However, this shade is just too neon for me.

LOTD: LA Splash Waterproof Liquid Lipstick in Latte Confession

I adore matte lips! I just can't get enough of it. I usually go more with light nude shade color. But this Latte Confession shade just makes me fall in love again and again with the shade. I love how the color pops out and how the color matches with an everyday makeup.

This product is super long lasting. Once it is set perfectly to our lips, it will stay on the entire day without a significant needs to touch up. It is also kissable. Very important for my case. However, if we have dried lips, it will exagerate the dried lips. Yuck!

Another downside of this product is the aftermath when eating greasy food. The texture will breakdown and create small chappy peaces. It will easily break when we rub our lips constantly.

Aside from its downside, this product is highly recommended for everyday looks until party looks.

If you read in my 2015 Favourites blog post, you will spot on this lip product. This is so far one of my most favourite lip product so far. So here is how it looks like after applications.

I love the super smooth texture and it's ability to dry up quite fast. Once it is set to the lips, it gives a very matte effect without making my lips super dry. It last well throughout the day even after consuming food. However, it is not resistant towards greasy food.

The only downside of this product is that it is not available yet in stores throughout Indonesia. So it will be quite a gamble to purchase whether or not the shade matches our skin.

When my husband and I were planning for our Bangkok trip, we've made one ultimate promise. (((We will not shop))). But oh come on... You know that it is impossible to do when you visit Bangkok right??? They sell the best price for garments, fashion, and decoration. So we broke the promise... We visit the Chatuchak Weekend Market >.<

We received the recommendation to visit the Chatuchak Weekend Market from my best friend who has been living in Bangkok for quite a long time but currently living in the UK. She said that the Chatuchak Market is only open during the weekend (Saturday and Sunday). So if we happen to stay in Bangkok during the weekends, this market is a must to visit.

Buying Thai Silk and Fabrics

The market itself is very accessible. We can just go to Mo Chit BTS Station. The market is just right across the station, a five minute walk from the station. The Chatuchak Weekend Market is so big. It is almost impossible to go through every single corner of the market in one day. The market also sells many different things from fashion, food, souvenirs, arts and crafts, until animals and pets.

You will be super surprised with the price offered in Chatuchak Weekend Market. It is ridiculously cheap!!!! Just be careful not to spend too much in this market since the temptation to buy everything we see in this market is very high.

One thing that I adore from this market (aside from its super affordable price) is the sellers. The sellers can speak simple english conversation so it is very easy to communicate or bargain. Remember that in order to be able to get the best price, we have to bargain in this market. But just in case we don't bargain, the starting price is already affordable.

With all the hype and happiness visiting the Chatuchak Weekend Market, there are several things that we need to be aware from. First is the peak hours. The Chatuchak Weekend Market is not fully supported with air conditioner. So if we come during lunch time and peak hours, it will be hell hot! My husband and I came to Chatuchak Weekend Market at around 09:00 AM. I think it is perfect. Although several shops are not open yet during the time, but most shops are already open. There are not too many person during this time. We finished our shopping experience at around 11:00 AM. That is when the crowds started coming. Second is the pickpockets. The Chatuchak Weekend Market can be very crowded. Just be aware of the pickpockets. My tips for this case is to bring just enough money to shop. Then put it in a very small wallet separately from the main wallet. This will prevent us from continuously opening the main wallets that have all our credit cards in it. Other than the two things to be aware of, the rest is fine. Just enjoy the shopping!

Culinary Experience at Chatuchak Weekend Market

Street food is also one of the ultimate attraction in Chatuchak Weekend Market. There are many tasty food that we must try! One of them is the vegetable spring-rolls with sweet Thai chilly sauce sold in the street just before the main entrance. It super tasty and affordable. Only 20 Baht (around IDR.8000) per portion (6 spring rolls). Another must try food is the coconut ice cream. This is the culinary star of Chatuchak Weekend Market.

There are many stalls selling the Coconut Ice cream. But the legendary one is the green food stalls with coconut hanging on it. To reach this stall, just enter the main entrance of Chatuchak Weekend Market. Go straight until you reach another road. Turn left on that road. The green food stalls will be somewhere along that road.

With only 40 Baht to spend (about IDR.16.000) to spend, we can get a very delicate and rich coconut ice cream, coconut fruit shred, two toppings, and one glass of refreshing pure coconut water. The taste of the coconut ice cream is quite similar to the Indonesian Es Puter. The ice cream is very rich in flavour. I highly recommend the Nata De Coco (coconut cubes) as the toppings. It is damn good!

So the highlight of our visit to the Chatuchak Weekend Market is that if you promise yourself not to shop during your stay in Bangkok, please reconsider it. If not, you will regret it. Lol

Bangkok Trip: Hello Kitty House

When I was a child, I used to looooovvvveeee Hello Kitty. I have tons of their collections. From dolls, toys, play-dough maker, pillows, beddings, until toothpaste. They are cute and always uses the colour pink. Well, like what almost the majority of girls are like... Yes.. I like Pink.. ^_^

In December 2015, my husband and I make a super short escape to Bangkok. We actually have to attend a friend wedding. But since we haven't gone abroad yet after our marriage, so we extend the stay a bit longer to travel.

While we were walking to search for a toy store, we stumble upon a very cute cafe called Hello Kitty House. This cafe literally flipped my mind!!!! I was sooooooo excited to experience the cafe. My husband? Don't ask... Just don't ask how his expression is... lol

The cafe is located just across the Paragon Mall in Bangkok. It is very accessible to the Siam BTS Staton. The mall is called Siam Square. Enter the mall and just walk straight until the other end of the mall. The Hello Kitty house is located right in the other side of entrance door.

The cafe basically sells many kind of desserts. Of course in all of their desserts they have a Hello Kitty picture in it. The decoration of the cafe is all about Hello Kitty. It's like having a tea party at Hello Kitty mansion. The cafe also play the Hello Kitty jingle music all time, every day. It is cute at first, but believe me... This song will be stuck at your head if staying in the cafe for more than 1 hour. hahahaha..

The dessert that I buy is the Hello Kitty Strawberry Shortcake. Although the shape of the cake is ridiculously cute, the taste of the cake is not as cute as it looks. I have to be honest that the taste of the cake is not as good as the cakes sold in many Indonesian upscale bakery. However, the drink that I order is super refreshing. Their Virgin Mojito is so tasty and refreshing.

For the price, it is not too affordable. Compared to several Bangkok desserts that I bought during my stay in Bangkok, the Hello Kitty cafe does not offer the best price. For me, the price is a bit pricy compared to the quality of the cake that we pay for. However, for the experience, it's worth the pay.

I have to admit when it comes to entertainment and creativity, Bangkok has its game!

2015 Favourites: My Holly Grail

Since this is still the very beginning of the year 2016, I think it is still a great moment to update on my 2015 makeup favourites items. There items are the things that I use solely almost every single day during 2015. So here are the products!

FRAGRANCE

I am a huuugggeeee fan of sweet scented smell. I usually love to use "candy like" scent. But I don't know why that in 2015, I am quite obsessed with a slight of floral scent. Madonna's Truth or Dare Eau De Perfume represents the battle that humans face and that coexists in us all. This fragrance is a sexy and contemporary reinvention of a classic and robust signature white floral fragrance. The top notes are gardenia, neroli and tuberose. At the heart of the fragrance lie the scents of jasmine, white lily petals and benzoin tears. At the smouldering base of the fragrance are the extracts of vanilla, amber and sensual musk aura. This perfume is quite long lasting. I went to work at around 09:00AM till 04:00 PM and the fragrance still stays on well. Another thing that I love about this perfume is the price. It is very affordable compared to the other perfumes that I owned. I bought mine for about IDR.750.000. Cek out @nari_ta in Instagram for purchase.

FACE

My 2015 favourite face product has to be the L'oreal Mat Magique BB Essence. What I love about this product is it's great coverage for such a light makeup. The coverage also stays on perfectly for quite a long time. My skin is Oily Combination. I am mostly oily, but there are several corners in my face that is very drying. The only downside I felt on this product is the fact that it can make our face super oily if we don't set it with enough powder. However, I still love it very much due to its consistency and coverage. I bought mine for about IDR.150.000 in Matahari Department Store, Jogja City Mall, Yogyakarta.

CHEEKS

For blushes, I adore the Lancome Blush Subtil in shade Chedar Rose. Since I am quite obsessed with the Matte Look, this blush is perfect for the look. The shade is a soft dark pink. The texture is like a very pigmented powder blush. It is delicate and oil free. This blush is quite pricy but I never regret my decision to purchase it. This blush is about IDR.500.000. Bought in Centro, Ambarukmo Plaza, Yogyakarta.

LIPS

The Sleek Matte Me Ultra Smooth Matte Lip Cream in shade Birthday Suite is a great every day shade that can compliment my daily matte look. The shade is a creamy pink shade. What I love about this product is the shade that are able to match with every look and also the ability of this product to last well in my lips even after eating and drinking. This lip product is also affordable. I bought mine for IDR.150.000 from a friend of mine that helps me to purchase this product from an online shop.

EYES

If I have 3 wishes, I might use one of it to wish for longer lashes. Yes.. I am those girls who almost have no lashes. That's why I am always super paranoid when having to use false lashes. My sister actually introduce me to the Bourjois Twist Up The Volume Waterproof Mascara. I fell in love with this mascara right after my first try. This mascara have a multy-function application wand that we can twist into two different effect. The first effect (number 1) is for lengthening, while the second effect (number 2) is for thickening. I combine both effect on my daily basis makeup look. The result? I loveeee it!!!! My lashes looks super full. I bought mine for IDR.200.000 in Sogo, Plaza Senayan, Jakarta.

BODY

When it comes to body care, I am not that good on it. I am super lazy on putting body butter or body cream each day everyday. I am quite picky on the things I put on my body skin. HAIR

Just like body care, for hair care, I don't really like to invest much on it. I am just too lazy to deal with my hair. I am also not quite skilful when it comes to hair styling. I rarely style my hair in a daily basis. However, I am in love with Tresemme Keratin Smooth Heat Protection Shine Spray because I felt that every time I style my hair with it, it becomes very easy to control and also make the hair style stays on in a quite long time. The after effect of this product is that it makes my hair super shiny and smooth. This is also super affordable. Only IDR.45.000 and can be bought almost at every local groceries store.

SKIN CARE

Whooootttt!!!!!! Almost forget to write about my ultimate skin care favourite in 2015. It is the L'oreal Revitalift Laser X3 New Skin Anti-Aging Power Water. The power water is just perfect for my oily combination skin. It hydrates well without making my skin feeling extra oily. The water texture of this product makes it very fast to be absorbed by the skin. I felt an instant hydration and extra glow whenever I am using this product. I don't quite remember the price of this product, but I believe it will be somewhere around IDR.200.000.

So that's it for my 2015 favourites. I don't know if I will fall in love with different product in 2016 or will still be using some of my 2015 favourites this year.

Updates About 2015: I am Married!!!!

Hello gorgeous...

Gosh.. I can't believe it's already 2016. Yet again, as what can be seen in my blog, I rarely post an update on my blog content. Sad sad sad!!!!

Many wonderful things happens back in 2015. I can't thank God enough for the blessings and the wonderful life that God had given me till today.

Reflecting on many blessings that God had given me, I would like to highlights an event back in 2015 that has made my life complete. I am married to the man that I love so much!

It was 7th of June 2015, my husband Yovie made a promise to be faithful and loving me for the rest of is life. From that day, till forever.

Being married to him is a wonderful thing. Although there are several ups and downs in our marriage, I felt that my husband are able to deliver many positive things in my life. I appreciate the way he is able to push me to become better each time, everyday. He teaches me many things in life. He teach me to become more humble. He teach me how to become independent with respect. He teach me that to live is to love. I am very excited to pursue more and more incredible journey with him in the future.
