5 ways to overcome Temptation

Over the years, I've noticed five things that make all the difference in overcoming temptation.

First, you've got to be wise. Think about the choices you're making and the consequences before you make them. Wisdom looks ahead.

Next, you have to believe that you can resist temptation. Condemnation, guilt and shame work off of momentum, if you stop them early, they lose their power, but once they get rolling, they're hard to stop.

Third, think of facing temptation as normal life. If you're expecting a fight, you'll always be ready.

Fourth, avoid areas of weakness. Don't put yourself in situations where you can easily fall. If you struggle with managing your money, don't go to the mall when you can't afford to buy anything!

And finally, don't give yourself too much credit. We don't graduate from being tempted. It's so easy to think you've matured beyond stumbling, and once that happens, you make yourself an easy target.

At some point in our lives, we always get to the crossroads where we ask ourselves what next? Either after the loss of a job, loss of a loved one, after our wedding ceremony or any other event, not getting a visa, resigning from a job, relocating to a new town. Whatever the situation is, there is always a point we get to where we ask ourselves, what next?

The truth is sometimes the answer drops immediately while in some cases the answer does not drop. When the answer drops we are happy but this happens due to certain factors:

Having a plan
Not deciding alone
Having the means and opportunity to do anything we want immediately

This feeling is sweet as there is no holding back because we have scripted our plan beforehand so we can just go back to it and check the next item. When the decision of what to do next is not entirely up to you it can also be a relief as you as just in the passenger seat and not the driver seat so you suggest and watch what happens next. Sincerely this is sweet, you think less, spend less and in some cases, you are not even involved because you are on the receiving end. So what you receive is what you will use to work. The last group in this category are those who have the means and opportunity to do anything they want immediately. When the means and opportunity are there, what else do you need? Having thing done require a means and an opportunity so when they are at your disposal life just flows.

The next group of people are those whose answer does not drop. This is the group that require a lot of thinking, a lot of quiet time but the painful part is time is not usually on their side. They need to decide what to do next otherwise they get lost or stuck. They might have a plan, they might be the masters of themselves but the means and opportunity to do that which they really want to do are not there. So the question, WHAT NEXT? Stares them in the face and they are just powerless; they are powerless.

The only thing they can do and this is what they do most times is to have another plan or continue with is happening because they can not correct it neither can they change it.

Everyone wants to be happy but when the means and opportunity to be happy is not there the initial question pops up WHAT NEXT?

So if you are reading this and you have experienced this, share with us what you did and how you discovered the next thing to do. If you are reading this and you are currently experiencing this, my advice is to have another plan, one that is within your means.

February: LOVE and LIKE

Relationship is not something you rush into. Live your life as if you will not die. Death is a price every human being will pay, so do not plan your life as if you will live forever. 'Love' and 'Like" are two words people use in a relationship, permit me to say wrongly. I say so because they both mean different things and should be used at different times and situations.

Love is been encountered in a moment but Like can be for a long time. Do not go for what you think but go for what your heart pounds for or force love to flow between you and anybody. It should be allowed to find its purpose and process.
Feelings for me should begin with Like not Love because it is those things you like about the person that will keep the fire of the love burning. Falling in Love at first sight is interesting although I have not felt it but I feel it does not have the qualities as Liking before Loving.
This statement 'I Love you' has three words and we use them at different times. Do me really knowing what we are saying, that is the power in those words? Be safe, say I Like you till you are sure you Love the person.

Here are some of the things I do, when some says I Love you.

- I look into the person's eyes if the eyes are saying the same thing the mouth is saying

- I observe the feeling I got as the statement was made

- In my mind, I ask myself:

* Did I really feel anything or do I feel anything?
* Am I worth this Love?

After asking myself these and other questions, if the answers are not positive I conclude by asking the most important question which is ' Does this feeling, have the potential of growing and becoming something better? If this is also a No, then I start pulling off.

We are in the month of Love. For me, it is a month of evaluating a relationship. Defining the next stage of the relationship and I will advice you do same. This will help position your relationship for the remaining months of the year.

Today is Valentine's day. A day that's about love. This day has different meaning to different people, to some a day to spend quality time with the person you love, to some it is the day you show you love someone with the hope of getting something back today to show your love expression was felt and acknowledged. To others it is a normal day, you wake up in the morning, say your prayers, eat, take your bathe and go to work. Close later in the day, come back home take your bathe and rest as work continues tomorrow.

To some special people it their birthday, others wedding anniversary, others relationship anniversary and others the day there hearts were broken.
The last group of people are those that are sad today, either they lost someone or something no one can replace.
So from the above mentioned which category do you belong? What is Valentine's day to you and what is the perfect valentine gift?
For me the perfect valentine gift is, renewing our vows to each other as a family, as friends and as lovers. No gift can replace the gift of peace, knowing that you love someone and the person loves you too. Willing to go the extra mile for your sake, loving and accepting you despite your weaknesses and shortcomings.

It is not a day of just sending flowers, hanging out or making love; it is about strengthen your relationship and being sure you are with the right person at this stage of your life.

Travelling from Abakaliki to Lagos inspired me to write this. For some drivers whom I have travelled with, they spend 3hrs from Abakaliki to Onitsha, some 2hrs. Each of them using different routes, old road and new road. There are many routes to a particular place, we might not get to our destination at the same time, with the same speed, same type of engine, e.t.c
The truth is that we will all arrive. What matters is getting there in one piece although it varies for individuals.
Some might need to get there on time and taking a longer route is wasting their time.
Some might even decide to go by air, because of the comfort. Since they can not fly Abakaliki they will decide to drive to Enugu and from there fly to Lagos.
The truth is all these decisions are also dependent on different things, for example, money, knowing the shorter route, e.t.c
Where do you want to get to in life? What do you want to achieve? There are many ways to achieve it, the question is what can you afford? At what pace can you go?
Sit down and plan your route, remember to include option B and C.

FREEDOM

Freedom comes from a desire to change from one's state of bondage or deprivation from certain functions or things.
If you are not tired of your present position, changing the position which I'm referring to as been free can not occur even if everyone sees you in bondage or been mistreated.
Sometimes it even gets to the point where people tell you to free yourself but it will not mean anything until it comes from you.
Take for example, a man who borrowed money from his friend. He needs to free himself even if his friend does not ask him of the money and other people are saying he is a debtor. He can ignore what everyone saying and live with little or no worry untill it hits him that he has to pay, probably as a result of realising that his friend or any other person won't be interested in helping in the future or as a result of what his friend did or said to him.
The bottom line is that he will decide to pay back when he gets that kick within himself that it is time to.
That condition that you are in that seems impossible to change or to be free from actually requires you to decide that it is time to be free.
Sit down and ask yourself 'how did I get here?' And then ask yourself 'how can I leave here?' When these questions are asked and answered honestly, it means one wants to be free. Remember that in being free certain decisions and actions need to be carried out.

Jealousy they said is the root of evil. Sometimes it requires looking deep at what it really means to understand if one is actually jealous or not.
Jealousy as many would define it, is been defensive of a thing or person. Not wanting to share it or the person with anyone.
To others, they say it is the same thing as been envious. Something you admire but can't have is own by another person. That person becomes a problem to you not because he or she offended you but because he or she has something you want.
For another group of people, it is not about something they want. It is about a person been in a position they want or achieving a feet in life that they want, probably can't get to or it is not yet their time to get there.
All is jealous, my question before we carry on is; what is jealousy to you? In your own words what is jealousy?
So back to what I was saying, there is no way one would paint jealousy that makes it a good thing. The painful part is that jealousy is everywhere: Family, office, friends, you name it. Jealousy is there sitting in the conner.
I do not want to go into the causes or effects of jealousy, what I just want to draw our minds to is that people can be be jealous for the slightest reason and this can mar relationship, affect productivity and growth.
One way to avoid it is to be patient and always remember that you can be where you want to be and have whatever you want if you work hard.

How to Tweak the IMEI of a phone

Many people usually find it difficult 'tweaking' their phones. This is because they do not understand what it means and so assume it is difficult or it needs a broad knowledge of programming to do such. Today i give you ten (10) steps on how you can do it from your comfort zone.

1. Look for MTK engineering app or mobiles uncle.
2. Download it if u don't have. Install and run.
3. Then open and choose MTK SETTINGS.
4. Then swipe to ur right to CONNECTIVITY and choose CDS INFORMATION then choose RADIO INFORMATION.
5. Now choose the simple slot u wanna change (phone 1 or 2).

6. Then u will see a box with A+ .
7. Click inside and type any letter and delete it to bring out a drop down menu where u choose AT+EGMR=1,7,"" then type ur IMEI number between the "".
8. That is AT+EGMR=1,1,"IMEI NUMBER".
9. And when you're done, press send command and restart ur phone.
10. Then dial *#06# to check if it changed

Tanzania is a day old today. It is located in the eastern part of Africa.roups. The official language of the country is Swahili and English, its also has different religions: Christianity, Islam and Traditional religions. Their currency is the Tanzania Shillingi. The mineral deposits include gold, diamonds, gemstone, coal and natural gas. The country was actually known as Tanganyika in 1920. Tanganyika gained independence in 1961 and became a republic in 1962. In 1964, it united with Zanzibar uy President Julius Nyererere until 1985. The country subsequently experienced both political and economic struggles; it held its first multiparty elections in 1995. Why my interest in this country? A good question, we both need this informatas its medium in secondary school while Swahil is used in primary school,thereby making the students to understand and speak both languages. Would you believe the country has had the same president for 6 years?

As it celebrates its day today, i wish the people of Tanzania a wonderful celebration.

How to Downgrade BBM

Some people upgrade from BBM 7 only to miss some wonderful features such as:

BBM upgrade notifications – BBM will notify you when there are updates to download straight from within the app
BBID Synchronization – your BBM profile, Groups and Contacts are linked to your BlackBerry ID
16 Additional emoticons – even more choice for those times when words just aren’t enough.

BBM 7 gives you the freedom to choose how you connect with your BBM contacts. It is designed so you can seamlessly switch from a BBM message to a BBM Voice call for free over Wi-Fi.

In case you miss these features and want to go back to BBM 7 here are the steps to do that:

1. Press Your Blackberry button to go to Menu

2. Select Applications in your Menu

3. Run Blackberry Protect and backup your contacts

4. After backup is complete, go back to Menu

5. Select 'Options'

6. Select 'Device' inside Options

7. Select 'Application Management' inside Device

8. Scroll to Blackberry Messenger and delete it

9 After deleting is complete, it will ask you to restart your phone, let it restart'

10. After your phone restarts, just type 'about' at the home screen of your phone and some icons will pop-up (Browser History, Social Feeds, Facebook, Options, Help etc)

11. Select Options and Click 'About Device Versions' to see your Blackberry OS version

What August taught me.

Life is a gradual process. You can not get it right all the time. When it even seems like you have got it there is still need to check and ensure you made ir write.

In the month of August, something that has never happened or better put something that only happened while I was learning happened. Not that I was more than it but I just believed that it can not happen. I had an accident the good news is that no life was lost with a little damage to the car. Of course I had to fix it.
The lesson is not from th accident or before the accident but rather after it. The same person who advised and helped in solving the situation was the same person who blew it all out. So what's the lesson you might ask?

The lesson is anything worth doing is worth doing well. That's accidents happen and its better to say it happened than let someone else say it the other way he or she felt it happened. Its only the person who has worn the shoe that can tell if he can walk with it or not.

How to Install an OS on your Blackberry

Have you had difficulties uploading/ installing a new/updated/latest Blackberry operating system on your particular Blackberry? Below are steps that can help you do it. This method is universal, which means that it works on OS5, 6, and the latest OS7. It works on old phones as well as on the latest OS7 powered device.

Download an official OS from your wireless carrier from the official Blackberry site: http://us.blackberry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp

Select your blackberry model and download the latest OS that is available on the site.

Install the new OS that you just downloaded off the blackberry site onto your computer.

Download and install BBSAK, the trusty 3rd party backup program for blackberry:http://bbsak.org/

Download and Install Desktop Manager (DM) from the official blackberry website:http://us.blackberry.com/apps-software/desktop/

Before moving to further process, you should have everything you need to perform the installation by now. Check list:
- Current OS downloaded and installed
- Latest DM downloaded and installed
- BBSAK downloaded and installed on your Windows PC as well

Connect your blackberry to your PC with your stock blackberry USB cord, and fire up BBSAK. BBSAK will automatically detect your BB. Once BBSAK detected your BB, hit the “Backup Apps” button to back up your 3rd party applications that have been installed on your BB.

Be patient, this process will take up to five minutes max. When it's done, hit “OK” and exit out the program.

Launch Blackberry Desktop Manager(DM). Click “Device”, then select “Backup and Restore”, once you are in it, click “advanced” and back up the settings you would to backup. Only backup your calendar, service books, bbm contact list, and contacts because if you are backing up other settings from the old device, when you load them onto the new OS, the extra old settings might not compatible with the new OS. Once the backup progress is done, exit out of DM.

Launch BBSAK again; make sure that your DM is not running in the background. Click “wipe device” this time. It will wipe out everything on your BB. Once the wiping process is done, the phone will reboot itself. Then you will see a “507 error”. Please do not freak out, this is normal; it means you are doing the thing right. “507 error” means your phone OS is corrupted or there isn’t one. To be sure that you phone is wiped clean, click “wipe device” again, the program will perform the same wiping process like the first time you did. Again, the phone will reboot and the 507 error will appear as expected.

Warning - This step is extremely important, so follow this instruction closely: Navigate yourself to this location on your computer: c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader. Once you are in it, find the “vendor” file and delete it. If you are running on Windows 7 64 bits, you will have two vendor files instead of one like xp and vista. So locate yourself to the 2 hidden vendor file by doing following:
- Open up a command prompt:
  - type “command prompt” on your computer’s built-in search engine to bring up the window.
  - type “dir /a /s C:vendor.xml” in it. Once you typed in the command, the hidden vendor file will pop out. Delete that hidden vendor file.
  - *C* is the hard drive that your current Windows is installed on it, so if you have your windows running on a “D” drive, please change “C” to “D”.

In the same folder, find “loader.exe” and launch it.

Follow the program itself, select whatever extras you want to install along with the new OS. Then hit “Next” for a couple of times, then the loader will begin the actual os installation process.
