We recently had the opportunity to check out an amazing diaper/mommy/work/school bag from Amy Michelle! I know, sounds complicated, but it's really the smartest bag I've seen in awhile! But before I go into how cool the Amy Michelle Eco Tote is, let's back up a little.

The Dilemma...
When Lil' Pea was, well, a Lil'-er Pea, we had the heavy duty diaper bag! You know the one that can hold everything and promises not to eat your items up in the process, yet somehow you can never find anything in it! Yea we had on of those. It was big enough to hold it all, yet completely failed in the function department. It was a diaper bag and nothing beyond that. Which seems a bit silly to me, considering the price of some of these diaper bags. I mean, c'mon you want me to shell out $350 for a diaper bag? Ok but that bag better be with me when the kids are in 3rd grade!

Women today need a bag that's going to function as a diaper bag in the baby days, incorporating plenty of pockets for individual items AND can be used down the road as a purse or a tote bag. At least that's my picture of a perfect diaper bag. Oh and let's not forget it has to look good!

The Solution...

I originally intended it for use with Lil' Pea. It's big enough to fit everything, yet has multiple pockets so that I can designate certain things to certain areas, making sure that I don't lose anything in the process. Turns out I don't just use it just for my everyday running around, but it makes an amazing school bag. I can fit my mini HP laptop inside, along with my school books and all of my personal items that remain in there on a daily basis. The Eco Tote has an open pocket on the front, as well as a zippered pocket for important items like cell phones and keys that require easy access at all times.

Eco Friendly...
Let's not forget the main focus of the Eco Tote and that's the fact that its Eco Friendly! Each Eco Tote recycles about 11 water bottles and 8.5 oz. of fabric...pretty cool, eh? How Exactly Do You Take a Picture of 300 Million People?

I don't know how they do it, but I know that it would be impossible to conduct a census, without the help of those on this earth! Yes, that means you, unless of course you arrived from K-pax, then we'll let you off the hook this once!

I'm urging all of you to send in your census surveys! There are so many people involved in the 2010 census and many, many who are volunteering their time to conduct this census. In order for a census to be accurate, we have to have everyone involved! So please don't just toss it aside, fill it out and send it back.

In fact, the information the census collects helps to determine how more than $400 billion dollars of federal funding each year is spent on infrastructure and services like:

* Hospitals
* Job training centers
* Schools
* Senior centers
* Bridges, tunnels and other-public works projects
* Emergency services

Have You Checked Out Overstock Lately?

You know I have seen and heard great things about Overstock over the years and have visited the site a few times and found some great deals! However, I just visited the site again after a long hiatus and realized that they have really expanded! As I was shopping around I found some amazing Handmade Jewelry that any woman would drool over, one being a turquoise multi-layered necklace from India for just $22!

Further surfing revealed household items like Shower Curtains in some really amazing designs. I say this because I searched and searched for a shower curtain a few months ago and it was nearly impossible to find anything designer-like or even easy on the eyes at all, for that matter. Mommy Mission Control with Verizon's Palm Pre Plus!

I've been using my New Verizon Palm Pre Plus for a few weeks now and I have to say I've become very fond of it! I have yet to open up the manual to figure anything out, a big bonus in my book! As a mom, I don'nt have a whole lot of time to sit down and read an entire manual to figure out how to use my phone. I need my phone to power on and work automatically...end of story! Needless to say the fact that the Palm Pre Plus is user friendly gets extra bonus points from me.

Sync online calendars
I'm a mom and I have alot going on, both offline and on. We all have appointments and deadlines and without a calendar, I would lose my mind! A really sweet feature about the Palm Pre Plus is the ability to sync multiple calendars and applications. This means that your Palm Pre will automatically sync to your Google, Outlook, Facebook, etc. accounts without using a USB to plug into your PC! It automatically grabs your information via the web, allowing you to have multiple applications at your fingertips and more importantly on the go! You'll never again have the need to check your work calendar against your personal calendar, as it's all in one place. The best part is...it takes virtually no effort!

I have been a long time Gmail user for multiple reasons, one being the ease of the calendar. I can input my appointments from my home PC and my Palm Pre Plus automatically picks it up and stores it in my phone! I also have all of my contacts at my fingertips! Trust me when I say, that is a priceless feature for me, as I do more than my share of social networking! Not only does the Palm Pre Plus sync my online calendars and give me access to just about anyone I've ever emailed, but the application is easy to navigate, using color codes to distinguish between calendars, yet all on the same screen. It also gives you the option to View your calendar from a daily, weekly or monthly view. You can even set reminders and tasks!

Operation from the Phone
The Palm Pre Plus allows me to input calendar information including dates, times, names and even notes right into the Phone using the keypad and touch screen. I cannot tell you much this feature helps me stay on track! There are times where I become lazy about using my calendar, a bad idea for someone as high strung as me, but knowing that I can input information directly to my Palm Pre Plus just gives me more motivation to consistently input my appointments and deadlines even when I'm not on my home PC. This feature makes it easier for me to have one girl at her dance class on time and the other to music class, all while remaining on schedule and never missing a beat!

There are still a ton of features that I have to explore on the Palm Pre Plus and I'm going to tell you all about it over the next 4 weeks.....so stay tuned!
