Yes folks, you heard that right. The much-awaited fifth installment of the Bloggers United Bazaar is happening next Saturday at SMX and I am ~~slightly panicking as I haven't done any preparations yet~~ giddy with excitement!

Get ready for another round of intense shopping experience as 60+ of Manila’s top fashion bloggers open their closets once again in a big bazaar this June 1, from 10am to 8pm at our best venue yet, the SMX Convention Center (Function Room 3)! Philippine Fashion Week Holiday 2013: SM Ladies' Fashion and Parisian Shoes and Bags

Philippine Fashion Week Holiday 2013 was kick-started with SM Ladies' Fashion and Parisian Shoes and Bags' show last Wednesday night, and our team is honored to handle the PR for the event. I was in charge of the registration for our friends from the blogging community as well as the winners of the contest hosted by our chosen bloggers.

The show was slated for 8:00 PM but we were there as early as 10:00 AM.

Instead of showcasing the Holiday 2013 collection, SM Ladies' Fashion and Parisian Shoes and Bags decided to stay current and feature the Summer 2013 collection instead. Presenting pieces from Studio S, Philosophy, NY Square, Weekender, Folio, SM Classics, and Coco Cabana, SM Ladies' Fashion sets to provide us women with the chicest options to suit a variety of lifestyles. Here are some photos from the runway showing the looks I loved:

Divine Lee, Ingrid Chua-Go, and Ruffa Gutierrez also worked with the brand by walking down the runway wearing SM Ladies' Fashion and Parisian Shoes and Bags.

I love that the collection was styled so well and everything is wearable. You may not be able to see the shoes that clearly in the photos but they all polished the looks nicely. All shoes are from Parisian Shoes and Bags and they came up with two new collections: Mod and Music Fest.

Bring back the vibe of the swinging 60s with two new collections that truly capture the spirit of the hippie subculture, in styles that have been updated to suit our modern times. Here are some of my favorites:

I know I should be sleeping now because I need to brace myself for a long day tomorrow, but I'm feeling restless.

Philippine Fashion Week starts tomorrow, and we are in charge of SM Ladies' Fashion. Being the Online Relationship Manager, I will be in charge of bloggers. Although I have met more than 90% of those invited and am even friends with around half of them, I'm still terrified because, well, I am one of the most awkward persons I know.

Whatever. I guess I'm just going to have to wing it.

Little black dress and heels? Check. New hair color? Check. Makeup skills? I'll do a smokey eyes-look tomorrow. Check. Accessories? Almost done preparing.

I need to remember to inhale-exhale tomorrow. Cross your fingers for me?

Time to DIY dye: Review of Richenna Bubble Color in Red Wine

I am bored of my hair. There, I said it: I am bored of my hair. I don't know if I should stay with this pixie cut or whether I should grow it out. Everyone tells me I look better with short hair though, so I guess having long hair again, at least for now, is not an option. The challenge lies in updating my hairstyle without being limited by its length, by exploring other ways I can change it up without making any drastic changes like shaving half my head or having a fauxhawk.

The easiest solution: hair color!

The last time I had my hair colored was in September of last year, and I've grown it out since then. I wanted so badly to color my jet-black hair but I don't want to cough out more than a thousand bucks for it, so I figured I should try the DIY route.

There's only one problem: I've never done it before.

Still, there's a first time for everything. Last Thursday, as I was in Watsons, the many different brands of hair dyes caught my eye and, well, you know the rest. I got a box of Richenna Bubble Color in Red Wine for only P309 (on sale from the original price of P349.50). The packaging is so kawaii I had no qualms getting it! From what I understand, it is a Korean brand. The box says it doesn't have ammonia, that's a good thing! For that price, you get everything here:

Bubble color, developer, pump bottle, plastic cape, one pair of gloves, a sachet of conditioner, and an instruction booklet
Not bad, right?

I started with this hair color:

I have really dark hair so I didn't have high expectations. My only wish is for my hair to turn just a wee bit lighter.

I read the instruction booklet about three times. Good thing it's written in English!

I wore the cape and gloves and got to work. First, you have to pour both the dye and the developer in the pump bottle, then invert it around five times after making sure the cap is secure. Do not shake vigorously because the mixture might not turn into foam!

The mixture will turn a little warm and come out as foam when you pump it out.

Apply on dry hair but be careful because you don't want it dripping on your skin and clothes!

The booklet says wait for 30 minutes, but I took my chances and waited for an hour before I rinsed it out heh.

I was a little scared before I rinsed it out because I was worried that the formula is not really right for me and I would end up with big clumps of my hair on the bathroom floor, but thankfully that didn't happen. I was still terrified a bit though because the water turned dark red and then dark purple when I stepped under the shower-head ha ha.

Did you like it? I do! As I said earlier, I wasn't really expecting that much because of the price. I am pleased to say I got what I paid for, and a wee bit more. Here's my quick pros and cons list about Richenna Bubble Color.

What I liked:
- Accessible. Available at the many Watsons branches nationwide!
- Variety. There are a lot of other colors available. I think I'd like to try Pink Brown next.
- Affordable. At P349.50 a pop, it wouldn't be that difficult to try a new hair color every couple of months *wink*
- Easy to use. Everything you would need to color your hair is included in the box. No need to buy other stuff separately!

What I didn't like:
- The smell. But then again, it smells exactly like what they use in salons so I'm not sure if it should belong in this list.
- Although the conditioner helped, it wasn't enough to make my hair as smooth as before I dyed it. Still, there's nothing that a deep hair conditioning mask couldn't overcome ;)
- I wasn't able to apply to all areas equally, so I might need someone else's help next time. I liked that it gave my dye job more "character" though, if there is ever such a thing. LOL.

So there you have it, folks. My first ever DIY dye job. It involves some serious work in the forms of arm exercise and lots of waiting, but I think I did okay. I'm excited for my next hair experiment!

Bored and Crafty fan

I have a special spot in my heart for handmade pieces, mainly because they have an inherent charm that cannot be replicated by mass-produced and factory-made products.

I also have a bit of an artsy side in me and I have already tried my hands on a number of craft projects, but I can never match the skills and talent of Meream. We've never met in person but we've been online friends for years now, and it all started when I left a comment on her blog expressing my admiration for her craft. She sews, paints, draws, carves, and makes miniature houses (I love her dollhouse so much, she made my alternate universe-self a tenant in the Alcott Study!) among other things! Seriously, you have to visit her Facebook page to see some of the stuff she has made.

I can never sew to save my life so I'm always amazed that she is able to make her own clothes. I've bugged her to make me a skirt or a dress but she hasn't budged (yet!) but I'm glad that she has finally opened her own shop so I can have some of her darling works of art.

Last month I got a pouch from her and she gave me a lovely banner as a present. I already have more than enough pouches in my life but I couldn't resist this one, mostly because the fabric reminded me of one of my favorite books I've read recently, The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern.

And now, I am proud to say that I am the first owner of a Thimblecap Kindle case!

She even threw in a bow bracelet for free. See the other designs here, too cute to resist! Aww Meream, you spoil me endlessly. ❤

It is very well-made and has foam so I am assured that my Kindle Max is protected. I bring him everywhere in my bag so I am thrilled he has a new home. Looking forward to all the new places and dimensions we will go to together.

And look! It fits inside the pouch I got last month! I really, really love the vintage feel of this fabric, complete with maps and hot air balloons, as well as the word CIRCUS written on some of them. Read The Night Circus, too, and you will understand.

On a gratitude high

I honestly don't know how to write this post or what angle I'll use to make it more interesting to whoever reads it, but I guess I will just let my stream of consciousness flow and type away.

I woke up today with a big smile on my face and then when I remembered how amazingly awesome yesterday was I just suddenly teared up.

After being prettified by the Make Up Factory team, we had a bloggers' launch attended by most of my favorite beauty bloggers. Sometimes I still want to pinch myself when I think about how I used to just read their blogs before and now I get to interact with them in person, forealz. I will share more details and photos about the brand on my next post, but I've also written a little bit about them before. I can't wait to use my new blush and lipgloss. Pretty, pretty colors ♥ For the meantime, make sure to visit their first branch in Bonifacio High Street!

After the quick but intimate event, I braved heavy rains, traffic jams, long lines, and a packed MRT just to get to Smart Araneta Coliseum where my forever concert buddy Ana was already waiting so we can watch Jason Mraz's concert. Thanks to Angela for dropping me off at Ayala and to Kira for lending me her MRT card - those two random acts of kindness saved me lots of time! We went to his concert two years ago and it was one of the most emotionally fulfilling and enriching concerts I've been to, so there was no way I was going to miss this one ~~even though I feel like I wasn't entirely prepared for it because I've only been listening to Fun. in the last couple of months~~.

When I got there, Ana told me I didn't have to pay for my ticket anymore because it was part of her birthday gift to me! And, get this, from General Admission, we got bumped up to Upper Box A thanks to Niche! Could this day get even more awesome?

Apparently, it did. When Jason Mraz started singing, the sheer joy I felt from being able to watch his concert for free was multiplied eleventy thousand times. ♥

I can't explain it, but it was like he and his Superband lifted everyone's worries away. It was a solid two hours of great music, spectacular instrument-playing skills, and Mr. A-Z's soothing voice. He even dished out several tips after every song that Ana joked it wasn't just a concert, it was a peer counselling session as well. My favorite was when he said that "Worrying helps. I need to worry a lot more because 90% of things I worry about doesn't even happen." I should always keep that in mind ;)

I have a lot of favorite moments from last night, but my top three are: hearing A Beautiful Mess live again (what a beautiful song), hearing I Won't Give Up live for the first time (he sounded divine, I swear), and hearing this song:

Oh Jason, you beautiful soul you. You are my sweet serenity.

Using that song as a segue, I'd also like to thank my dear friend Ed for sharing the experience with us even when we were at opposite sides of the stadium and my friend Third for waiting for me until after the concert just so I'd have someone to keep me company on the long way home.

What a day yesterday was. First we finally learned who the Mother is, then I got to hear some of my favorite Jason Mraz songs live (never mind that he didn't sing Details in the Fabric and Life is Wonderful), and then I got a message from my favorite local comic book artist Manix Abrera!

Sublime. Happythankyoumoreplease, I guess?

I am still on a Gratitude high, and I don't think I will be coming down anytime soon.

Purple Faery

As with all other things that come with being a girl, make-up should be fun. With the spectrum of colors, shades, and formulations available from hundreds of cosmetic brands, it's great to experiment and switch things up a bit every once in a while.

I have always wanted a purple lipstick but I've never had the courage to go and get one for myself (the closest to purple I have is the Maybelline Jewels Amethyst Ablaze that Kira gave me). Yes, courage, because as you may know, bold and out-of-the-ordinary lip colors require a certain amount of chutzpah for one to pull it off, and I'm not quite sure I have it.

Nevertheless, for one fun afternoon of launching Make Up Factory to the press yesterday, I entrusted my face to Jen of Maquillage Professionnel and let her work her magic on me. Here's what happened:

She made me a purple faery. It made me really giddy as one of my first (and favorite) SNS usernames is purpleazure_skye ha ha. I love this color combination so much!

Flawless base, groomed eyebrows, neutral shadow on lids and purple and blue eyeliner on the lower lash line, mascara, a light blush, and purple lipstick. All products used are from either Make Up Factory or MakeUp ForEver.

I really love how Jen did my make-up and I'm crossing my fingers I can replicate it when needed.

After experiencing the kind of boost that comes from wearing the perfect make-up and feeling pretty, I know I am going to be more experimental with colors and not go for neutrals all the time. Timing couldn't be better because tomorrow's make-up class is about Professional Photography. I'm so excited!

But first, I must rest.

Sofia the First: Once Upon a Princess

I think I can speak for the majority when I say that at one point in every girl's life, she has dreamed of being a princess. Being a girly girl who loved flouncy dresses and fancy shoes when I was young, I had countless daydreams of living in a castle and being treated like royalty. ♥

My daydreams were like sweet escapes inspired by scenes taken straight out of books and movies, and my favorite stories are those of Sara Crewe and Princess Jasmine. There's just a different state of calm that can be achieved by watching a Disney Princess movie, don't you think? Even now, when I feel stressed, I watch a Disney Princess movie and get transported to a magical and happy place where everything is possible.

It's nice to know that amidst our rapid-paced world, Disney still comes up with new materials like Sofia the First: Once Upon a Princess to inspire our new aspiring Princesses.

Set in the storybook world of Enchancia, the movie introduces Sofia, an average girl whose life suddenly transforms when her mother marries the king and she becomes a princess, Sofia the First. Sofia must learn to navigate the extraordinary life of royalty while holding on to her own hopes and dreams. Her journey to being the best she can be also paves the way for those around her to realize how special they each are. Disney's Cinderella makes an appearance in the movie to offer Sofia some words of wisdom – princess to princess.

Sofia's royal adventure begins as she prepares to move into the castle with her mom, starting a new family with her step-father, King Roland II, and step-siblings, Amber and James. Helping Sofia in her journey are the three headmistresses of Royal Prep Academy - Fauna, Flora and Merryweather (the beloved fairies seen in Disney's classic "Sleeping Beauty") and royal steward, Baileywick, as well as a group of cute woodland creatures led by a wise-talking rabbit, Clover. Sofia soon discovers that looking like a princess isn't all that difficult, but displaying honesty, loyalty, courage, independence, compassion and grace is what makes one truly royal.

The movie will premiere on May 19 at 11am on Disney Channel and on May 27 at 1pm on Disney Junior! I definitely won't miss this, ~~never mind that I am a 27 year old lady.~~ Are you going to watch as well? Round up kids to watch with you! Don't forget to share your thoughts about the movie! ♥

Smokey Eyes with Maquillage Professionnel

Previously in Krissy's Quest for Personal Development, we learned how to do evening make-up. Last Saturday, well, let's just say we turned it up a notch. For our second session sitting in to Maquillage Professionnel's Personal Make-up Module, we learned how to do smokey eyes!

I've learned that using the right brushes is VERY important in creating the perfect look. Sometimes good techniques rely not only in your skills but also in using the proper tools. That being said, I need a pro make-up brush set in my life.

What follows is a series of selfies ha ha. Don't worry, this is just to show you what I learned from the class and applied to myself and I made sure I used the least number of photos needed ;)

We started with the base, and with that I meant applying primer and foundation (and if needed, concealer) with medium to full coverage. As what any make-up tutorial will tell you, when going with smokey eyes, make sure to keep the rest of your face looking simple - thus the light blush and coral lipstick. By the way, I really, really, really love the MakeUp ForEver lipstick I am wearing here. Another color to find a dupe for because we don't have MUFE here anymore!

Now comes the eyes. I'm really glad I learned a super easy, fool-proof way for smokey eyes because it is something I've always wanted to learn and attempted to do ~~but I always end up looking like someone punched me in the eyes~~! I wish I can teach you how to do it but if you really want to learn, you'd have to enroll in Maquillage Professionnel and take up the Personal Make-Up Module as well. ;)

You can choose any color you want for your eyeshadow so long as it's a dark color. I chose green. Aaand here's the result:

Meeting Manix

I never realized the extent of my fan girl-ing until today, when I lined up for more than six hours just for a few moments of shy conversation with my favorite local comic book artist, Manix Abrera of Kikomachine Komix fame.

1. My sister and I were numbers 88 and 89. They only accommodated 100 so thank God we were still able to get slots!
2. View from the fourth floor where we waited all afternoon.
3. My Kickers boots and my out-of-this-world Havaianas flip flops that my sister wore.
4. My little sister Kyla who's not so little anymore. She's only 13 yet she's already taller than me! Life's not fair.
5. I live for surreal moments like this.

Those more-than-six long hours of waiting? WORTH IT. Manix is so humble without even the slightest hint of false modesty, and he's so cute! The reason why we waited so long is because he drew on every. single. book handed to him for his autograph. When it was already my turn, I told him about how I brought all my books but I'll just ask him to sign five because I feel for the others who were also waiting, but he insisted on signing everything! And then I thought that yes, I've waited just as long as everyone else, I deserve that little pocket of time! So now all my ten books have different mini illustrations and messages done by him, and yes I have ten books again even though I lost Blg. 5 because I bought a new one earlier!

I wasn't able to get free comic books from the Free Comic Book Day but I don't mind because I got more - so much more - than I bargained for.

Thank you so much, Manix! I don't know if you'll ever get to read this but I hope you don't stop being awesome. Rakenrol.

Comics and curses

Ah, weekend. We meet again.

I'm so excited because tomorrow I'll go to Maquillage Professionnel for another makeup class! Last week we did evening makeup, and then tomorrow we will learn how to do smokey eyes. I can't wait to seduce you guys with my smoldering stare LOL.

After class, I will then head to Fully Booked in Fort for Free Comic Book Day! This is my first time to attend so I don't know what to expect exactly; all I know is that there'll be a lot of falling in line involved. As excited as I am for free comic books though, I am much giddier at the prospect of finally meeting Manix Abrera, the creator of the Kikomachine Komix I am so addicted to and look forward to getting once a new one is out hee. His works were introduced to me by my good friend Niel. Back then he has already released four books so I bought all of them at the same time following her recommendation. First few pages and I was hooked! The 9th book was released just a couple of weeks ago and I made sure I got a copy on the first day it was available. :)

I have a dilemma though: I'm not sure whether it's okay to ask Manix to sign all my 10 books. If he doesn't mind it, I'm sure other people will since I know there'll be a looong line for his autograph. I asked my friend/ officemate Anne about this and she just went on and talked about how cute my problems are ha ha. I thought I'd just bring everything and then decide there tomorrow. When I got home, I looked for all my Kikomachine Komix and I found everything... except for one.

I can't find my Blg.5 anywhere!
RAGE.

I remember keeping it somewhere safe because it was a gift from someone and I didn't want to lose it. Well, I guess I must have kept it really good because I can't find it! Either that, or the comic book is clearly cursed. I've already asked for my mother's and sister's help to no avail, so screw it, I'm just going to buy a new one tomorrow and have that one signed by Manix so that I won't feel so bad about my ~~cursed~~ lost copy.

So there, I think I need to sleep now so that I would look well-rested tomorrow. It would be nice also to reserve my energy since there'll be a lot of waiting heh. Goodnight, everyone! I wish you all a great, lazy, and unproductive weekend! (⌒▽⌒)☆

I made my own Havaianas and I loved it!

I'm sure a lot of you can identify with me when I say that collecting can be addicting especially if it's from a brand that regularly steps up and offers new things (or in this case, cool and cute designs) to us consumers. Hay naku, "goodbye money" LOL. Around three years ago I totally got addicted to collecting Havaianas flip-flops; I waited eagerly for new collections and took pride in snagging those tagged as Limited Edition. Here are three of my favorites:

This pair has never missed a single beach trip ever since I got it more than five years ago.

They're so durable that, if you take care of them, they can last for years. I stopped buying them when I realized I have more than ten pairs already and I only have two feet. I still regret letting this Batman collection pass, though.

But I guess when you love something, you never really forget it.

Last night, I went to the press launch of Make Your Own Havaianas 2013 in Rockwell Tent and even though it involved a lot of falling in line, I enjoyed every second of it!

Being a self-confessed Havaianatico, it may come as a surprise to you that it was my first time to attend an MYOH event. Well you see, aside from concerts, I am not a big fan of big crowds. I know that MYOH is a HUGE annual phenomenon where Havaianaticos come in droves. 'Nuff talk, here are some photos!

These pinwheels located in strategic places in the tent help you decide what color combination you want for your sole, strap, and even pins, and whether you want a Slim Sole or a Regular or Metallic Top!

It is said no one can ever feel sad while holding a cupcake. Scratch that, no one can feel sad after seeing these colorful treats.

Filipino illustrator and designer Dan Matutina was introduced during the program. He discussed his collaboration with Havaianas and shared what inspired his design. He said he has always been interested in science and space (I think he and I can be good friends because I like those, too!), so when the Havaianas team told him that this year's theme is "imagination", he immediately worked on exploration-inspired studies, and one of those was chosen and released exclusively for MYOH 2013!

The Havaianas bar officially opened after a toast to the much-loved flip-flop brand!

After much deliberation, I finally came up with the combination I really wanted!

It was so exciting, seeing my custom-made pair being made right before my very eyes!

April's swan song

Is it just me, or did you also feel like April was never going to end?

I feel like I say this every month, but really, it feels like April is the busiest month for me at work, what with all the events we had and reports I needed to do. Honestly I feel a little overwhelmed sometimes, but then I recognize that it is a good problem, and the only time I would need to be worried is if I don't have to do anything for work at all.

Aside from an eventful month work-wise, April was also special for me because I turned 27 this year. Time to really concentrate on skin care, baby! I'd like to thank everyone who made me feel loved and special on my birthmonth. I feel so blessed because of you all. And yes, I guess it really ain't over 'til it's over, because today I received a special gift from the Glamourbox team!

Green Beauty Box

I loved everything in the box, and you know I am not saying that just because I got this as a gift. Even if I paid the regular monthly subscription fee of P595, I would feel that it's really more than worth it! I will share more about the products inside the box once I've taken better photos.

Today I also let my imagination take me wherever it wants to go! I went to the press launch of Make Your Own Havaianas 2013 in Rockwell Tent with my friend/ officemate Rica and here is what I came up with:

My pair is totally out of this world! I think it has now become my favorite among my humble Havaianas collection because I customized it according to my taste, and you know I LOVE aliens and astronomy ;)

And this is worth mentioning: this month, I informally started a "mutual admiration club" with Riz. I have been a silent reader of her blog for years now and whenever I feel a little blue, I just type her URL, read away, and find peace instantly. I don't know but there's just something about the way she writes that resonates with me so much. Anyway, I've loved her blog for so long but I never found the courage to leave a comment because... I don't know, really. But just last week, she left a comment in one of my favorite personal posts and said that I remind her of "those days when bloggers blog what's in their hearts like no one's reading." And I guess that level of sincerity and honesty is what I've always wanted to put across in my posts. I admit that sometimes I feel tired of blogging but then I come across bloggers like Riz and I am reminded again of how much I really love writing and sharing a piece of me to anyone who would care to read what I put out there. Now I promise to leave a comment in all the blogs I like to let them know I appreciate them. If you are reading this, why don't you leave your link in the comments so that I can say hi to you?

So there, my friends, it's already May. Have you already decided who to vote for? Personally I need to dedicate at least half a day to read through the hopeful politicians' platforms and plans for the country. I must find time to do that this weekend.

I am especially excited for this because I'm thinking of updating my wardrobe since I know I need to ~~stop buying clothes from the kids and teens' section ha ha~~ start dressing my age.

The event was held in Bistro NYC and was hosted by the lovely Issa Litton.

The runway show will be segmented into different style tribes but only three were shown during the preview.

Evening Make-up with Maquillage Professionnel

I've always been a powder-and-lipgloss kind of girl but I also love prettifying myself up for special events or for those times when I just feel like it. I've wanted to enroll in a make-up class for so long now but I never got the chance (or the funds) to; somehow tutorials in Youtube, beauty blogs, and Allure magazines have been enough.

I am not one to let a chance to go to a make-up class for free just pass me by, though. As an added perk to working for ARC PR, we were enrolled to Maquillage Professionnel's Personal Make Up Module! Located in Burgos Circle, MP School of Make Up Artistry provides technical training for both individuals who seek to become professional make-up artists. They also have modules for novices like me who just want to learn the basics.

Today's lesson concentrated on Evening Make-up. This is important for us because we also hold evening events and the last thing we want to happen is to not appear presentable to clients and guests.

For Evening Make-up, there are only two things you have to remember: intense and dramatic. After a quick demo by Miss Yuki on my boss Jenny, we got to work on our own. This is where going to classes is better than Youtube tutorials - you get to see the techniques in person and you get immediate feedback whether what you're doing is right or not.

I admit I had a bit of a problem with the eyeshadow because I couldn't determine where the crease should be ha ha, so I'm thankful that Miss Yuki was very patient with me and taught me a technique I can use to make it much easier!

I am looking forward to finishing the rest of the module! I'd like to thank my bosses Jenny and Celine for this! Now I need to go shopping for more make-up because I realized how much I lack... I mean, I've never even used concealer on myself before this, thus the concealer-less existence of my traincase. I also need a great eyeliner and a new eyebrow pencil. And a blush palette, too,! As I said on my previous post, "Costing me lots of money, this job is. Oh well." It's fun being a girl! ヾ(´▽｀;)ゝ

As those who have my personal mobile phone number know, I switched to the better network sometime last year after I've had enough of dropped calls, late messages, and going over my set budget for monthly phone bills. Why make things complicated when I can just choose the easier and better option, right?

Anyway, I am a Smart prepaid subscriber now and I love how it's a lot more pocket-friendly because I only need to buy P300 credits per month and use the MEGA 250 promo that gives me unlimited texts to all networks, 3 hours of calls to Smart and Sun subscribers, and 100 mb of data at just P250 every 30 days! I know I sound like a paid advertisement right now but I'm not; it is really what I use and I have since convinced a couple of my friends to switch to Smart because of this promo. :) Also, because we were given company phones with unlimited data (also powered by Smart), I do not need to switch my data on anymore - I just use my company phone as a portable hotspot. ;)

Say Bonjour! to fashion’s newest darling, Elle Girl!

I'm sure you're all familiar with Elle and Elle Girl magazines. Well, this retail brand actually branched out from the publication to answer the demand for fashionable pieces the magazines are known for providing aspiring fashionistas with inspiration for. Exactly a week ago, we held a press launch for the Parisienne fashion-inspired British brand at their newest branch in the new wing of Shangri-La Plaza.

Today should have been my 6th year with HSBC if I didn't take the leap more than eight months ago. As it is, I am now in an industry that can be really stressful ~~at times~~ most of the time but I think I'm doing okay.

I don't go to as much bloggers' events as I used to because I am now part of the team who plans these events; just today we did two press launches for two separate clients. I have met a lot of interesting people and my social circle has become wider - I just hope there's a single man in there somewhere ha ha - and honestly, although I juggle a lot of tasks and responsibilities, I couldn't be happier.

Now, if there's anything I can leave you with, I guess it's an advice to never underestimate the power of a ~~good~~ great cocktail ;)

Laissez-faire at Casa Lapa

I know that like "literally", the word "epic" is literally one of the most overused words in the Internet. Epic meal, epic episode, epic movie, epic everything. But then again, it is indeed subjective and what might feel epic to you might not be it for me, and vice versa. In this case, I am sorely tempted to describe our weekend as such but I feel like doing so might be reductive but I don't know, that's just me.

Such a long-winding introduction, but here are some photos from our weekend where us four girls stayed in Alex's farmhouse in Tagaytay and just let things be.

Persian food for dinner. Full body massage at Sesitra Spa. Road trip. Brunch at Bag Of Beans. Chocolate chips pancakes. Pineapples. Being surrounded by nature. Girl talk. Late lunch at Leslie's. Being serenaded by "Adele". '90s playlists. Dixit. Pink bunny. Monopoly Deal. Winning at life. Late night stories. Salted Caramel ice cream. Mochi. Mike Wazowski. Bananas and Speculoos Crunchy Cookie Butter. The search for pandesal. Hot showers. Lazy Tagaytay dogs. Nate Ruess. Buffalo's. Chili 'n Cheese Nachos. Buko tarts.

I have a lot more memories from this weekend, but my favorite is probably when we were already on our way back to the farmhouse after getting groceries. Imagine this: road trip on a nice day with the windows down and then a classic favorite song, "With a Smile", comes on the radio and you're with three of your favorite people and you all start singing along. Sweet, sweet life.
