Disable Non Genuine Windows Notification
This copy of Microsoft Windows XP is not genuine - Want to bypass and remove this warning by disabling WGATray.exe ?

Windows XP Pirates have again found workaround methods to bypass the new Microsoft Anti-Piracy effort - Windows Genuine Advantage Notifications that notifies you through annonying pop-up messages if your copy of Windows is not genuine.

The WGA Notifications patch is installed if the user has opted to automatically update Windows via the Windows Update Website or if a XP users manually downloads the latest Windows updates.

A workaround posted on internet WGA install workaround (KB905474) suggests the following:

End the process wgatray.exe in Windows TaskManager and restart Windows XP in safe mode. Now delete the following files:

Delete WgaTray.exe from c:\windowss\ystem32
Delete WgaTray.exe from c:\windows\system32\dllcache

Start Windows Registry editor and delete the folder "WGALOGON" located in the following location:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\ Windows NT\CurrentVersion\WinlogonNotify. Delete all references in your registry to WgaTray.exe

Another alternative suggest that three files are installed Windows XP System Folder:

\WINDOWS\system32\WgaLogon.dll
\WINDOWS\system32\WgaTray.exe
\WINDOWS\system32\LegitCheckControl.dll

The wgatray.exe process makes the check for genuine windows software. You can disable WGA by removing the execute bit on WgaLogon.dll. That way, winlogon can't call it as a notification package at boot, and since WgaLogon is responsible for running and maintaining WgaTray.exe, no more tray popups either.

To change the execute bit of WgaLogon.dll, first turn off Simple File Sharing. Now right click the file in Windows Explorer and open the Security Tab. Hit the Advanced button, uncheck the Inherit box at the bottom, hit the Copy button, then hit OK. Go through each listed user/group and remove the "Read & Execute" permission for that file, leaving the "Read" permission as-is.

Hit OK to apply the permission changes and close the file properties dialog. Restart the machine. You can now turn "Use simple file sharing" back on, if you want.

A third alternative posted on the internet suggest that users clear the content of file data.dat located in the following directory:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Windows Genuine Advantage\data

Save the data.dat empty file and change the attributes to "Read Only" - Restart you computer. Or start your PC in Safe Mode and delete the following files from Windows system32 folder - wgalogon.dll spmgs.dll wgatray.exe The WGA setup file is in C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\ Download\6c4788c9549d437e76e1773a7639582a

If you don't use "Fast User Switching", you can disable the Windows XP Welcome Screen if you are logged in as an Administrator. This will remove the initial WGA Warning Screen:

1. Click on Start -> Control Panel ->User Accounts
2. Click on "Change the way users log on or off"
3. Uncheck "Use the Welcome Screen" - Choose Apply
4. Close the User Accounts window and the Control Panel
5. The next time you reboot your computer, the classic login prompt will be used

To enable Fast User Switching, you must also enable the Use the Welcome screen option. Also, Fast User Switching cannot be used when Offline Files are enabled.

Disable wgatray.exe - Some users are claiming that removing the WGATray.exe (or killing the WGATray.exe process) are working for them.

None of these methods are guaranteed to work and people are just experimenting. Meanwhile Microsoft is not willing to relent to crackers this time and are planning to release an update of WGADiag2.exe utility in the next few days.

WGADiag2 will also fix the problem with registry key permissions may cause the installation of Windows Genuine Advantage Notifications KB905474 to fail from Windows Update:

Here's a manual fix provided by Microsoft. These permissions can be repaired using Registry Editor as follows:

1. Click Start, and then click Run
2. In the Open box, type regedit, and then click OK
3. Expand HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT
4. Locate the subkey HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\LegitCheckControl.LegitCheck
5. Right-click the subkey and select Permissions.
6. Ensure that Administrators allowed Full Control permission
7. Repeat steps 3-6 for the subkey
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\LegitCheckControl.LegitCheck.1

Microsoft has also published a kB article if the Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA) validation check process does not validate successfully on a Microsoft Windows XP-based computer, and you receive one or both of the following error messages:

Product Key Inaccessible 0x80080212

This problem occurs when you do not have the appropriate permissions for the Windows Genuine Advantage\Data folder. In the Permissions for Users section, make sure that Read & Execute, List Folder Contents and Read permissions are given. If the previous steps fail, start the computer in Safe Mode and rename the %allusersprofile%\Application Data\Windows Genuine Advantage directory.

pin to "START--> RUN-->" type "regedit"

then follow the route

Did You Notice, whenever You Insert any game 0r software cd, or simply consider Windows Xp Operating system cd. As soon as You Insert the disk in CD-ROM, It automatically runs the cd.

If you want to make a autorun file for that CD you are ready to burn just read this...

1) You open notepad
2) now you writ: [autorun]
OPEN=INSTALL\Setup_filename.EXE
ICON=INSTALL\Setup_filename.EXE

Now save it but not as a .txt file but as a .inf file.

But remember! The "Setup_filename.EXE" MUST be replaced with the name of the setup file. And you also need to remember that it is not all of the setup files there are called '.exe but some are called '.msi

3) Now burn your CD with the autorun .inf file included.

4) Now set the CD in you CD drive and wait for the autorun to begin or if nothing happens just double-click on the CD drive in "This Computer"

Look for Received: from followed by a few hostnames and an IP address between square brackets [ ]. In this case, it is

How to Change Default Wallpaper Directory / Folder in Desktop Properties for Windows

We can easily change our desktop wallpaper by right-clicking on desktop, click “Properties, open “Desktop” tab, pick one of the provided wallpapers within the list and hit the apply button. However, when we want to change the desktop wallpaper with another one that is located within another folder, you’ll have to click the browse button to go to the folder and pick the wallpaper.

If you keep your favorite wallpapers in a separate folder and most of the time you rotate the wallpapers on the desktop, why don’t you just make the folder to be your default wallpaper directory? In this way, you don’t need to click the browse button every time you want to change the desktop wallpaper from Desktop Properties window.

How to change the default wallpaper directory

Open registry editor and go to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion

After you find the key, look the right pane and find the string value “WallPaperDir”.

The default value data of it is:
%SystemRoot%\Web\Wallpaper

This value data has to be changed. Double-click it and enter the location of your wallpaper directory or folder.

Mine is located in H:\Visual Styles Collection\Wallpaper\Sweet, so I change the default value data with the location.

That’s it. After you change it, you can close the registry editor window and open the Desktop Properties.

You’ll see that all of the wallpapers within the list are the ones that are located in the folder you set in the Registry editor.

Like previous versions of windows, it takes long time to restart or shutdown windows XP when the "Exit Windows" sound is enabled.

To solve this problem you must disable this useless sound.

•Click Start button.

•Go to settings > Control Panel > Sound, Speech and Audio devices > Sounds and Audio
Devices > Sounds.

•Then under program events and windows menu click on "Exit Windows" sub-menu and
highlight it. Now from sounds you can select, choose "none" and then click Apply and OK.

Virtual Memory too low Warning Trouble in Win XP and Vista

When there is less physical memory than needed, then some virtual memory (Virtual RAM) is created on the disk. When there is a limit set to the size of Virtual Memory usage and there is not enough of it present there is a warning that frequently comes “Virtual Memory too low”.

Solution 1 :-
This problem occurs when physical RAM + Virtual RAM (usually created on hard disk) together are not sufficient to take care of the currently needed RAM size, or this situation is about to arise. This usually happens when some fixed upper limit for Virtual Memory has been set. To solve this problem, you can either upgrade you physical RAM on your computer (recommended), or you can set the Virtual Memory to system managed size or you can do both. Setting Virtual Memory to system managed size means windows will set it to higher size whenever needed automatically, for this,

Right click on My Computer --> goto Properties, goto Advanced tab, click on Performance Settings, now click on Advanced, now click on Change button for Virtual memory.

On this screen select the System Managed Size, press OK. After this re-start your computer. This will solve the virtual memory too low problem.

Solution 2 :-
Recommended solution is to upgrade your physical memory (RAM) according to requirements of the kind of applications that you run on your computer. If you upgrade RAM or not, the following procedure will help prevent this warning by increasing the virtual memory limit.

Right click on My Computer icon and click Properties.

This will show system properties window. Click on a Advanced tab and click on the Settings button under heading Performance.

This will open Performance options window. Click on Advanced tab and click on Change button under heading Virtual Memory.

Check if the space available is set to some custom value or double the RAM size ? If it is not double the RAM memory size , then select the size option set the virtual memory size double the RAM Size and press set button and press OK button.

Restart the computer.

This trick provides a solution !!!

What can be done :-
** Command prompt can be added to 'Right Click Menu' of each folder.

** Clicking on this will open the folder in cmd prompt.

** Now, the files in that folder can easily be operated.

How to do it :-
** Open any folder.

** Tools >> Folder Options...

** Change to File Types

** Select Folder from the list.

** Click Advanced button.

** Now, click New

** Type Command Prompt in Action

** Type cmd.exe in Application used to perform action

** Now, click OK and Apply

set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once.

How to Copy Music from iPod to the Computer

Many methods of copy music from your iPod to the computer involve programs such as PodUtil. This method is simple and there are no outside programs to use.

See Step-to-Step Guide:

1. Plug your iPod in and wait for the computer to recognize it.

2. Open up 'My Computer' and under 'Devices With Removable Storage', double click and open apple iPod.

3. Click on 'Tools' at the top of the window and drag down to 'Folder Options'.

4. Under the 'View' tab, find the subfolder called 'Hidden files and folders'.

5. Select the option 'Show hidden files and folders'.

6. Click 'OK'.

7. Double click on the newly shown 'iPod_Control' folder and open up the folder called 'Music'. These folders are named randomly and your music is impossible to find individually.

8. Select all the folders and copy them to a new folder on your hard drive. You are now done with your iPod. Eject it if you wish.

9. Open up iTunes. In the new folder you created, open up each individual folder labeled 'F##' select all the music files in the folder and drag them into your library in iTunes. iTunes will already have the tags stored for these songs so renaming them should not be an issue.

10. Alternatively, Press F3 to enter search, and enter "*.mp3" (no quotes) to find all the MP3 files at once, then press CTRL+A to select all the found files then copy them to a folder on your computer. This way all the music files are in the same folder which makes it far more simple to import them into iTunes. (If any of your files are in MPEG4 format, you can search for "*.m*" to generate a list of all your songs.) (see Warning below)

Tips

* You can't drag a whole folder into iTunes. It will not recognize the file tags and you will not know which song is which.
* The detailed folder view in Windows XP will read the tags off of the mp3s and display the proper Artist, Title, and Album information. The columns should show up by default, but can be added if they do not. This may work for other versions of Windows (someone please verify).
* FYI: One more thing to note, If you have bought songs from itunes and the computer you are storing the songs on is not the computer you have purchased the songs from they will be copied but may not be played because of AAC format. This format is protected and may not be played on and other computer unless purchasing a licence which is the same price as the song in the first place

Warnings

If you follow the step #10, to copy all the songs at once, you may run into trouble if multiple songs in different 'F##' folders have been given the same random name. For example, you may have several different songs given the same name '01Track01.m4a'. When you try to copy them all to the same new folder on your computer, you will either not get all the songs from your iPod, or you will have to manually copy over all the duplicate named ones into separate folders, which is very time-consuming. It may turn out to be faster to use the first method above (copying each F## folder to iTunes separately).

Here’s a fast trick which will help you to speed up IE startup. Follow the below instructions in order to do so:

Although there are plenty of software applications that can change the product key installed in Windows XP automatically, but some users may prefer to manually change the product key by themselves. Changing or modifying Windows XP product key is not a common practice after installation, especially so if already activated, and that explains why Microsoft didn’t have built-in mechanism to edit the product key used in Windows XP.

However, for some reason such as the need to change the product key to newly purchased genuine product key, especially when the existing installation of OS is pirated or illegal. The situation also happens in big corporations which have volume licensing (VL) agreemnts with Microsoft, which tends to use a same VLK (Volume License Key) or leaked product key to activate all computers. To enter and make use of the new product key does not really require whole fresh re-installation of Windows XP. Follow the hacking guide below to remove and delete current product key used to activate existing copy of Windows XP, and force the OS to prompt user to enter new product key for activation.

1. Click on Start and then Run.

2. In the Open text box, type regedit and click OK to run Registry Editor program.

3. In the left pane, locate and then click the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\Cu rrent Version\WPAEvents

4. In the right pane, right-click OOBETimer, and then click Modify.

5. Change at least one digit of this value in the Value Data to deactivate Windows.

6. Click Start, and then click Run.

7. In the Open box, type the following command, and then click OK:

%systemroot%\system32\oobe\msoobe.exe /a

8. When the Windows Product Activation window appears

click Yes, I want to telephone a customer service representative to activate Windows, and then click Next.

9. Click Change Product key.

10. Type the new product key in the New key boxes, and then click Update.

If you are returned to the previous window, click Remind me later, and then restart the computer.

11. For user using OEM system or volume license product key (VLK), repeat steps 6 and 7 to verify that Windows is activated. User should receive the following message:

Windows is already activated. Click OK to exit.

For retail Windows XP users, a 30 days registration for activation reminder will appear. User will have to connect to Internet for online registration and activation, or call the local Microsoft activation hotline for phone activation.

Find Who is Invisible on Yahoo Messenger

Sometimes some of your friends who appear offline in yahoo messenger may not be actually offline, they may in the 'Invisible' mode. This maybe if they are trying to ignore you or are too busy to talk to anyone.

There is this small trick that you can use to find out what the truth is.

Firstly open your yahoo messenger main window and double click on the name of the person whom you want to check. The chat window will open obviously.

Click IMVironment button, select See all IMVironments, select Yahoo! Tools or Interactive Fun, and click on Doodle.
After loading the Doodle imvironment there can be two possibilities

1.If the user is offline Doodle are will show this "waiting for your friend to load Doodle" continuously .See in the first picture:

2. If the user is online (but in invisible mode), after few seconds (it can take up to one minute, depending on your connection speed), you should get a blank page like in the picture below. So you know that the user is online.

Multi Google Talk

Just follow the simple steps Below:

1)Right click on the Google Talk shortcut.

2)click on Properties.

3)Go to Shortcut tab on Google Talk Properties window.

4)On the Target textbox, add in the /nomutex to the end of the line so that it looks like below (or you can simply copy and paste the below syntax and replace the original).
“c:\program files\google\google talk\googletalk.exe” /nomutex

5)Click on OK.

You can lock any folder without using any software

Just follow these Steps:

NOTE: It will by pass to Control Panel instead of opening the Folder ...

1.Suppose you have a folder named abcd in D:\abcd.

2.In the same drive next to the folder create a new notepad
file with the exact statement
ren abcd abcd.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D**

3.Now save this text file as loc.bat

4.Create another notepad file and type
ren abcd.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D** abcd

5.Save this as key.bat

6.Now there are two batch files . Double click loc.bat and your
folder will change into Control Panel and its contents cannot be viewed .

7.To open the folder double click key.bat and you get back your original folder .

8. For more safety keep the key.bat in another location .
Only for unlocking copy paste to the original location and double click .

Its very easy

Open Notepad and put this in

x = msgbox("box message",0+48 ,"box title")

Simply replace the "Box message" with the message of your choice ,do the same with "box title"

Now for the button selection......

x = msgbox("box message",0+48 ,"box title")

The 0 is where you want to select the buttons you have

0 =OK Button

1 = OK and Cancel

2 = Abort Retry and ignore

3 = Yes No and Cancel

4 = Yes and No

5 = Retry and Cancel

and now for the logo.......

x = msgbox("box message",0+48 ,"box title")

The 48 is what you are going to be changing........

16 = Critical Message

32 = Warning Query

48 = Warning Message

64 = Information Message

Now just save that as ******.vbs(replace *** with whatever you want)

Now, if you want to trick someone into thinking it is there Internet Icon for example...........

Move the file to any place that it will not be seen

Right click on the file you have made and select "Create Shortcut"

Then when you have the shortcut to it

bow place this for example on the desktop

Now right click on the shortcut.....

Select Properties and click on the "Shortcut" tab
Now click the "Change Icon" button

Now you can find an icon of your choice...
Now click "ok" and "ok" again

Now you will have something that looks like this....
now when u click it you will get a error message
