Revenge politics behind KCR's 'Dandayatra' on Maharashtra!

BRS President and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao embarked on a sudden and significant journey to Maharashtra on Monday, leading a massive convoy of over 600 cars.

Accompanying him were ministers, BRS MLAs, MLCs, MPs, zilla parishad chairpersons, chairpersons of various corporations, and more, totaling over 2,000 individuals.

KCR's convoy resembled a 'dandayatra' (a military-like expedition) aimed at conquering Maharashtra. He is expected to return to Hyderabad on Tuesday.

The question arises: why did KCR organize such a sudden dandayatra to Maharashtra for two days?

Political analysts perceive 'revenge politics' as the driving force behind KCR's tour to Maharashtra.

They suggest that KCR received clear indications that the Congress is likely to come to power in Telangana in the Assembly polls scheduled for December 2023. In response, he aims to seek revenge on the Congress in Maharashtra for defeating him in Telangana.

Maharashtra is scheduled to hold Assembly polls in October 2024, providing a ten-month gap after the Telangana Assembly polls.

During this interval, KCR intends to expand the BRS to as many constituencies in Maharashtra as possible, thereby undermining the prospects of the Congress-Shivsena (UBT)-NCP alliance by splitting anti-establishment votes.

Currently, Maharashtra is governed by the BJP-Shivsena (Ekanth Shinde) alliance, and KCR aims to ensure their victory with the assistance of the BRS.

Several former and current BRS leaders are also planning to join the Congress in Telangana soon, following the Congress' strengthened position after the Karnataka Assembly polls.

Anti-incumbency sentiments against the BRS and KCR are growing in Telangana, and surveys suggest that KCR has no chance of becoming Chief Minister for a third time.

Realizing that the Congress is likely to defeat the BRS in Telangana, KCR seeks revenge by ensuring the Congress' defeat in Maharashtra.

Since transforming the TRS into the BRS in October 2022 and proclaiming it a national party expanding to all states, why is KCR solely focused on Maharashtra?

He has already visited Maharashtra five times since February this year and addressed five public meetings.

Political analysts argue that this indicates KCR's desire to take revenge on the Congress in Maharashtra in 2024 for their victory over him in Telangana in 2023.

Vanitha Reddy Get Evidence?

In a latest development in Vijay Sai suicide episode, his wife Vanitha Reddy has finally surrendered before the police.

Vanitha has been absconding for 11 days following her husband's death. Before committing suicide, Vijay Sai had taken a selfie video accusing his wife of torturing him which led to his decision of taking his life. Based on the video, the police had issued notices to Vanitha Reddy.

After surrendering at the Jubilee Hills police station, Vanitha Reddy said she had been to various places to collect evidence and that she had no intention of absconding.

In fact, soon after the death of Vijay Sai, Vanitha Reddy had given two pictures to the police. Now, she had various other proofs which included intimate pictures of Vijay Sai with other women he had affairs with. She also provided some audio files as part of evidence.

Claiming that she never tortured her husband, Vanitha maintained that Vijay Sai had sexual encounters with other women right in their house, due to which she was contemplating divorcing him she added.

While the evidence does look straightforward, it will be quite some time before the police are likely to let go of Vanitha Reddy.

For starters, Vijay Sai is said to have provided some crucial information in his selfie video. Also, Vanitha Reddy seems to have a 'dubious' side to her, thanks to the two different passports she carries. She is also known to go about under various names.

In fact, Vara Lakshmi happens to be the real name of Vanitha Reddy, but she has used names like Vanitha, Brundam, Vinny on different occasions.

It is being said that the police also questioned her about changing different cars of late.

Megastar gifts tractor, cleaning beach

Mumbai: Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has gifted environmentalist Afroz Shah an excavator and a tractor for cleaning up Versova beach here.

Amitabh, who is a supporter of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, on Thursday shared a series of photographs from the beach.

"The joy of gifting for a cause as noble as the one I did today is the most satisfying experience of life! Gifted an excavator and a tractor for Versova Beach clean up," Big B captioned the images.

Shah shared the images too, saying it's a gift from a "dear friend".

"Our dear Amitabh Bachchan gifted us a Jungli excavator and tractor by Escorts Group. Today the engines were fired by him. Love and love and love for holding our hands tight. Sir, you are a torch of light in this fight to beat pollution," Shah tweeted.

This is not the first time a celebrity has lent his support for the beach clean up. Previously, actors like Randeep Hooda, Anushka Sharma and Dia Mirza have supported the cause.
