Dhaka University one of the leading university of Bangladesh and Asian Region. The University is situated in the central Dhaka from Nilkhate, Sahabug, Ramna, Azimpur and several areas with 600 acres of land. There are eight Institute of Dhaka University are also situated to Dhaka university. It's have Many departments, Institutes and Research Centers. Dhaka University is the co-education, independents public university.

Dhaka University inauguration in the first July 1921 with 877 students, 3 faculties, 12 Departments, 60 teachers and 3 dormitories (Residential Halls) . The University start on the current Emergency Building of Dhaka Medical Collage was the main building. The first Vice Chancellor was P.J. Harton and the first Registrar was Kahn Bahadur Nazir Uddin Ahmed.

Current status of the Dhaka University consists of 13 Faculties, 71 departments, 10 institutes, 17 dormitories, 3 hostels and more than 38 research centers. At present total number students are 33,112 and the total number of teachers are 1,805.

National University is the largest educational and examine as well as an affiliate university in Bangladesh. This university established in the 1992 as a public university act. It's Chancellor Honorable President of Bangladesh, Vice-Chancellor Professor Harun-or-Rashid. National university have large number of academic staff 2000, administrative staff 1800, number of total students 1,000,000 (2013). National university situated with large area of land in the urban area at Gazipur in Dhaka District of Bangladesh.
