Q&A - Musician Scott Ian (Walker in Webisodes)

The Anthrax guitarist describes his undead cameo in The Walking Dead webisodes and explains why metal music and zombies go hand-in-hand. (The Walking Dead returns with all-new episodes Sun., Feb. 12 at 9/8c on AMC.)

Q: How did the opportunity to play a walker in The Walking Dead webisodes come up?

A: I know Greg Nicotero. We have a mutual friend, Kirk (Hammett) from Metallica. I met Greg as far back as the late '80s through Kirk because Kirk's a big collector of horror memorabilia. So I'd gone to the set of the webisodes here in Los Angeles, and got to get made up as a zombie.

Q: Why do metal musicians love horror so much?

A: They've always gone hand-in-hand. Metal guys are huge nerds. [Laughs] A good percentage of are either horror or scifi or comic book or fantasy nerds. So, all of a sudden if you have some disposable income, you're like, "Wow, I can actually buy that zombie head from that movie!"

Q: Anthrax released a zombie-themed single last summer, "Fight 'Em Till You Can't." Did you listen to it to get yourself pumped up for the shoot?

A: [Laughs] I didn't need to listen to anything to get pumped up for the shoot. I was so excited to get made up by Greg and his team. I was beyond stoked that day. I would have left the makeup on for days if it didn't itch and tighten my skin up so much.

Q: I read that you actually wore the make-up home. Were you able to prank your family and scare them?

Q&A - Michael Bolton (Production Designer)

Michael Bolton is the Production Designer for AMC's The Killing. In this exclusive interview with AMCtv.com, he talks about how the look of the Larsen house reflects that family dynamics and how rain can look like tears.

Q: What are your key responsibilities as production designer?

A: My key responsibility as a production designer is to maintain the integrity of the script and to have a close collaboration with the producers, the cinematographer, and the director. Another responsibility is the general look of the picture and to make sure we don't stray off into doing things that we don't want. We've established a look which is grays and darkness; there are no real pulpy colors in this because it's a sad story. We're at a dismal time of the year in Seattle, so there are gray clouds and lots of rain. We do try to keep that feel by the environments looking like that.

Q: We see a lot of scenes in the Larsen home. How did you achieve such a genuine familial atmosphere?

A: During the pilot, the Larsen home was an existing location. Once it became a series, we decided it would be best for everybody that we build that on the stage because we can't keep going back and forth to a real location. This story is not only about Rosie's murder, but it's also about how it affects the family including siblings, and we wanted to show that the house is slowly falling apart because people aren't doing what they normally do. Each day, which is one episode, we get a little bit more disarray on the set. We try to think like the family. We try to be as real as possible.

Q: You've worked on an array of different movies from Final Destination 2 to The Muppets' Wizard of Oz. What's your favorite genre?

AMC Announces Season Two of The Killing Will Premiere Sunday, April 1

AMC announced from the Television Critics Association (TCA) Press Tour in Pasadena, CA that the hit series The Killing will return for its second season with a two-hour premiere on Sun., Apr. 1 at 8PM | 7C. Following the premiere, on Sun., Apr. 8, The Killing returns to its regular time slot at 9PM | 8C.

For those looking to catch up on the series, all 13 episodes from the Emmy-nominated first season will be available On Demand beginning Mon., Mar. 5.

Based on the Danish television series Forbrydelson, The Killing follows the police investigation of a young girl's murder in Seattle and the hunt for her killer. Written and executive produced by Veena Sud, The Killing stars Mireille Enos (who garnered an Emmy nomination and a Golden Globe nomination for her portrayal of detective Sarah Linden), Joel Kinnaman, Billy Campbell, Michelle Forbes and Brent Sexton.

Q&A - Talking Dead Host Chris Hardwick

The host of AMC's Talking Dead discusses his new book on nerd culture, imagines what Mark Twain might say about The Walking Dead and explains what the zombie series has in common with his erstwhile MTV dating show, Singled Out.

Q: How did you end up hosting Talking Dead?

A: I don't know if that's really an exciting story. I was a fan of The Walking Dead, Robert Kirkman had been on my podcast, and I had somehow heard that AMC was thinking of doing a wrap-up show. And time froze for a second and I was like, "What?" I immediately got on the phone with my manager and I basically just said, "You have to get me that job!" I don't know how you can represent that tone in text, but...

Q: Did you have to do any sort of campaigning?

A: I felt like my audition was moderating The Walking Dead panel at Comic Con. I thought, well, if I completely bone this I'm probably not going to get the job. So it worked out that I thankfully did not bone the panel and then right after that they gave me the job.

Q: Is there anyone you fantasize about having on the show?

A: I think, Mark Twain would be delightful.

Q: OK, I was sort of thinking of people who are still alive... but what do you think Mark Twain would say about The Walking Dead?
