The thing with showreels for me is that I always want to add new stuff and make it look cool haha- i know that's the whole point in showreels to give people a feel for what you do, well here is our 2013 showreel i hope you enjoy... if you haven't guessed what we are communicating - simply... we do cool stuff FOR EVERYONE :-)

Hello,

So the problem I have with blogs is that I have to write stuff haha!
And when i'm super busy doing fun stuff I dont get time to update my blog so im up super early and thought I would do a post on the last few weeks! Its been pretty awesome as I was out in Abu Dhabi doing a really cool shoot and then working for the Prince and Princess of Wales trust, then was in the highlands shooting an awesome film (more info to come on that later!) and then did another really fun job for leith. Here are some pics :

Rural road campaign with David Coulthard

In January MBP worked with Newhaven advertising agency on a great project, it was a safer driving campaign and MBP was asked to produce all the behind the scenes photos and video content.

It was a great shoot not only for the alexa but it was mounted on a russian arm = so so cool!

And David Coulthard from F1 fame was the star of the show.

Arri Alexa and Fashion

As usual im very behind in my blog posts but I thought I would share this video that we just finished for Iona Crawfords new fashion collection.

We shot it on an alexa - and it was amazing ill post some pics. I've shot with an alexa before but this really did change the way I think about this camera, its just amazing. The thing I love most is the simplicity of it. Everything from the build of the camera to the post workflow just makes sense.

Each New Year whilst most people are snuggled up with their loved ones a few brave souls who work in the AV/ production arena brave the cold night and huddle around screens to bring the festivities to life. This year I was working with an amazing team from across the country unique events, mcl, CT to name a few to do just that in the only place to be for New Year - Edinburgh! I was vision mixing for one of the live stages and above is a pic of my view for the night!

Its not all bad though, I got to vision mix some amazing bands and reverend and the makers were AMAZING!

I've been really rubbish and not posted for ages! I've been super busy doing loads of stuff at the moment just working with Elph on a really fun project for a huge client and doing some nice animated graphics. Got loads of cool stuff to come as well, done a couple of really nice photo shoots over the last few weeks and ill post some pics soon. DOing up the house which is crazy - who would have thought that after all the hardcore building work the most mess has come from the decorating! Got some really cool projects set up for the end of the year and 2013 is shaping up to be Epic! Talking about epics trying to figure out what new camera to get. I'm very tempted by an epic or a sony fs700 or a canon c300! Really havent got a clue haha so many fun cameras to play with!! I promise ill start posting more cool stuff soon. Oh and I picked up a beauty dish last week which is AMAZING!

I've been looking over all the images I have taken behind the scenes on sets over the last 10 years and I wanted to put them all in one place so I have been putting a book together on Ibooks. It should be finished in the next week or so and then I will release it to the world :-) I've also just got back from my editor the first draft of my technical guide on dslr film making which I will also be working on over the next few months whooo :-)

Here is a music video I shot for the Jive Aces. I was using the FS700 for the first time with CP2s and I have to say I was really really impressed it was a much better camera than I was expecting! Its on my shopping list.

Catherine is an amazing singer/ song writer based down south, she asked MBP to shoot her newest music video called communication. Gillian (my wife) directed this video and I shot it. It was so much fun doing it and after a crazy long day and seeing a snake in the lake - long story and no I promise I didnt jump onto the nearest rock and scream like a girl SNAKE SNAKE SNAKE we got a great film :-)

Busy?

If you have been following my blog you will get that I'm quite busy and when I don't post for a bit that's mainly because I'm really busy!

August in edinburgh is always my busiest time of year mainly down to one thing the festival, but this year we have had the Olympics!

So every night over August Mbp is covering late n live from 1am till 4 in all the glorious comedic chaos and gill and I were at the Olympics working with Emma Brumpton at Jamaica house, last week we were at glen eagles working with the amazing Fraser Balgowan and ps I got the first prototype of my camera bag - very excited!!!

I was also in york for Heineken!!

Next week is a very fun week, I'm shooting for the NHS we ( scott and Mik) are shooting an advert for a huge Hungarian company working with the awesome Elaine then shooting a fashion video for Iona Crawford.

And as if this wasn't enough we also moved house in a building site so right now I've just finished sanding the upstairs floors - including my soon to be office ( I can't wait to have a desk again!)

So roll on September and the. I'll post lots of very cool pics :-)

For the next 4 days I'm working with Endeavour TV at Jamaica House for the olympics, lots of videos to follow soon but in the meantime I thought I would post this image of linford christie, Judy McCluskey of McCluskey's pr and Emma of Endeavour.

So gill and I have just moved house whoo and at the moment there is no bathroom or kitchen but we did sand one of the floors in our new house ready for all our stuff here's a pic

And at the same time I am working with the gilded balloon for the edinburgh festival with a great crew and heres a pic of our half rigged control :

Gill and I are also leaving tommorrow for the Olympics to film with Emma of endeavour tv and Getty

So it's all a bit mad but very exciting!!!

So all in all lots of fun stuff but the best thing ever is my new hard hat which is industry tested and certified :
