A LITTLE SOMETHING......

Hello again and ooh lovely sunshine but hmmm where's my mojo gone. Working on the Mother's Day cards at the moment....will post pic's when done, but after a slow start to the day thought I'd share something from the archive.

This was a previous years cards, blue for my mum and red for the mother in law.

Crafters Companion cd provided me with the popcorn bear images and the lettering. Trusty die cutting to finish off. Well off the sniff some more glue and get this years done so catch you soon. Have fun in the sunshine and enjoy :) xxxxxx

NEW BABY how special

Morning and OH NO where is the heatwave, certainly not here is Stockport, BUT on the upside its not raining and the washing is blowing on the line.
Well for today this is a special one as a surprise request I was given for a New Baby card.

Well here is is. I used as ever my trusty dies. The booties are Marrianne as is the pin. The bow is from the new Sue Wilson bow range, and the rest are spellbinders. Crafters Companion quilted embossalious embossing folder for the background.
I also made a matching box........

Using the Tattered Lace Rocking Horse die, the Marrianne Baby, and I added the initials of Mum, Dad and big Sister for the personal extra touch. I lined the box with the matching quilted embossed card and the corners as on the card from a Cheery Lyn corners die set.
The back of the card I used the rocking horse again.......

.....but then I wanted the inside to be a little bit special too, so a dug out my peg stamps and decorated the insert......

I was pleased with the finished set, which as crafters you know isn't always how you feel about your projects perhaps, but as a big Sister myself didn't want the new Sister to feel left out so I made this little card for her as a keepsake and to help make her feel special and part of the happy event too.

BOY'S AIN'T SO TOUGH

Today I thought I'd share my friends son's birthday card. We always say men & boys are hard to make for, well for me I have no option. Mother to a boy and of course Hubby I'm surrounded by some fabulous fella's. So with them in mind today is a boys card.

A keen gamer and loving his music this seemed the perfect combination for him. The image if I remember correctly is from Crafts-u-print. The numbers I cut on my Cricut and the music notes are a Memory Box die cut in black card.

Then using a Marrianne die I popped a very important music reference on the back. If his Mum see's this she will understand how important that is in her family :) eh Sis xxx
Well that's todays post maybe I'll go for another male card tomorrow, although I'm about to drop a commission off later today and might show that, we'll see eh......perhaps you can drop by tomorrow and take a look. Bye for now and happy crafting xxxxxxx

Good afternoon from a blooming miserable Stockport, cold and grey, perfect for a crafting day eh. Well posting today because I can seems to be my only motivation. Have a nosey and see what you think.

This I made for a friends son's birthday. I used the Martha Stewart circle punch to create the patterned circles and my Spellbinders Nestabillites to give them a background. It was then out with my trusty and much underused Cricut for the phrase and the alphabet and number.

I added die cut animals to the reverse so it could swing around if it was needed to and just used ribbon and gemstones to embellish it and make it catch the light more.

NURSING RETIREMENT CARD

Good afternoon, hope your day is moving along nicely for you. I was a sunshine day here but oh so chilly but grrrrr grey sky is back now and hmmm think its cardigan time :).
Thought I'd share this card with you today which was made for a nurse I worked with.

The dies are mostly Spellbinder shttp://www.spellbinderspaperarts.com/Products/, including the embossing folder I used to emboss the snow white pearl card from Crafters Companions http://www.crafterscompanion.co.uk/?utm_source=BingAds&utm_medium=CPC&utm_campaign=BINGADS.
Cheery Lyn corners http://www.cheerylynndesigns.com/, with Tonic http://tonic-studios.co.uk/?doing_wp_cron=1394024939.9309890270233154296875 roses and the oval on the back of the card is a Sizzix die.

For those of you who might recognise, nestled in with the flowers I borrowed a cannula bung and the wrapper was added on the right under the sentiment with some bandage. Thought it added to the theme and if nothing else would remind her of us all.

BIRTHDAY CARD FOR MUM

Well hello from a dull and grey and drizzly day in Stockport, oh how I prefer the sunshine to lift your spirits, but enough doom and gloom lets make our own sunshine and sniff some glue eh.
Today's card is the one I made for my Mum's birthday. She loves blue so easy colour choice for me to make. Here's a look.

     Once again Crafters Companion snow white card, with a backer of blue pearlized from a Docrafts pack. Then I used the Anja dies to cut the corners and edge by Marrianne dies. Finished with Spellbinders daisy dies and dazzlers as flower centres. Cheery Lyn leaf swirl and Martha Stewart paper clay butterflies and bows glittered and the Mum word to add more dimension.
     You crafters all know that sometimes you start a card and when its done you look and say did I do that, well this has been one of those better ones that I have completed for sure.

WEDDING CARD

Well can you believe twice in a row, can she sustain this momentum they ask ha ha. Thought I'd pop on a Wedding card I was asked to make, some of you may have seen this already but I would just like to pop it on my blog.

I used Crafters Companions snow white pearl card and some silver mirri to highlight. The dies are a mixture of Tattered Lace Bells, Horseshoe, Doves and of course Bride & Groom. The tag is a Spellbinders, and the rings are a Marrianne die. The lattice background is a Cheery Lyn die and the ivy corners are once again Marriane. The lilac bows are the paper clay and molds from Martha Stewart.

     I then used one of the Anne Marie Design 8 x 8 boxes to make it a keepsake card, and embossed some of the same card with a Crafters Companion 8 x 8 embossing folder

BABY BOY CARD

Well well twice in a day, is this a roll starting perhaps :) xxx. Thought I'd complete the set by posting the card that accompanied the Nappy Bike.

I used a Debbie Moore cd-rom and printed the topper sheet and backing papers. Spellbinders Grand Ovals and Marrianne Baby die to finish off, and my trusty Glossy Accents which I find gives a more professional look to a finished card applied here and there, especially on word toppers.

I finished it with a complimenting box. I then went on to make two origami boxes for Mum and one for Dad filled with fun message baby grows to complete the gift set.

Hope you've enjoyed my efforts and its given you some inspiration maybe for your own future projects.

Nappy Motorbike adventure.

     Well Hello, been a while and I really should make more effort to make it onto my blog. This is something rather different and possibly a one off for me, but a special couple needed something extra as a New Baby gift so here it is. A Nappy Motorbike ( he is a biker and of course it was a wonderful and very premature baby boy who is doing wonderfully well now and growing day by day!)
     So of course nappy wheels, joined by a baby blanket. A baby towel and sock handle bars, with a bottle head light and a seat of a bib, and a little buddy to ride it.
I went on to wrap in cellophane and decorated it with ribbon and used the Tonic die cut stars which spelt out his name.
      It was funny when we called with it. "Oh how wonderful thank you" etc.......then whilst we ladies were cooing a sudden exclamation of what sounded like thrilled surprise from new Daddy "OH WOW! its a motorbike!" it was cute and funny in equal measures, and for me had been worth the effort to include Dad as always a bit sidelined by Mum and Baby perhaps :) xxxxx

     Morning fellow bloggers, hope the sun is shining in between the chilly showers for you. Thought I'd add another make for you to nosy at.
     This was for a girly girl and I used a Jem's design image which I sprayed with the Crafters Companion spray glitter and mounted onto the pink card.
     Using the same card and Cheery lynn lace border die, along with Memory Box butterfly strip die and a Joy heart in silver, and of course glittler glue for accents.

     Well here I am again blogging :), maybe getting the hang of it, hmmm well maybe ha ha. This was my good friends birthday card and as we love our summer by the sea the image seemed just right for her. It's from the new Joanna Sheen cd rom, and I used a combination of Marianne and a memory box swirl die to embellish it.
     I used glitter bits and pearls to look like sand and to add texture, and before decoupaging the image sprayed with Crafters Companions spray glitter to add yet more depth to the image, My trusty Cricut was used to cut the 40 out to declare to all her age as you do on these occasions ha ha xxxx

     Wow! twice in a day I am on a roll lol.......this was a commissioned card for a ladies Mother and father in law's 50th Wedding Anniversary.
     I used a mix of dies to create the flowers including Spellbinders, Memory Box and Cheery Lyn, with Marianne Champagne glasses and wedding rings dies. Once again my trusty Cricut got used for the alphabet and numbers, and the D and M monograms were actually their initials not Mum and Dad ha ha......
     Centura Pearl card from Crafters Companions was embossed once again with my favourite embossing folder dots from Spellbinders A4 m-bossibillites, and corners finished with the Anj

a corners from Marianne.
     I like to personalise my cards so tend to print off greating to suit the persons needs then I inked the edges and applied glossy Accents to make it shine and stand out more I find this gives a nice professional finish to printed word, and the back to continue and complete the journey.
     The insert was once again done using My Craft Studio, and was the wedding photo from 50 years ago on the inside panel and a verse opposite but silly me I didn't take a photo of it to show but it was lovely and very romantic.

     Hello anyone who stops by and thank you for taking the time. I don't blog often not sure it's my thing really but making an effort to make it my thing as I love to craft and seems a great place to pop some of my completed work.
     I was asked by a family friend to make a special Christening card for her Granddaughter. She asked if she could have cupcakes featured somewhere as this was the nickname for the little one. So I took the opportunity to use one of my many cuttlebug embossing folders to emboss some cupcakes so as not to overwhelm the card but send the loving message as requested.

          Spellbinders crosses with Little weed by Crafts too dies were used, and I decoupaged an image I found in my stash.
     I always like to make the back of the card part of the journey so I added a die cut I had from goodness know where and a memory box heart I cut along with the image from the card front.
     For the insert I scanned an image from the invite her daughter had created and used My Craft Studio to crop and fade the image and add it to the card insert to continue the journey.

Ha Ha I think she liked it as it brought a tear to her eye, job done I think maybe! The lady also mentioned it being a keepsake so while I had my crafty mojo flowing I thought I would have a go at bunting again, and here was my attempt.
I dusted off my Cricut machine for the letters and embossed each one with the m-bossitillites dots from spellbinders. Marianne Ballet dies with Joy bunting, and Cheery Lyn butterflies and back to spellbinders swirls. The bunting it self is Spellbinders also. The flowers were fabric ones from my stash to add further texture.

and this is how it turned out, better than I expected and I was pleased with the end result, as were our friends and this is how it was used much to my surprise and pleasure on the special day.

What a wonderful surprise for me also, and the bonus was the day was a success to for both sets of families.

     Well after promising myself and a good friend that I would join the Daily Challenge I finally plucked up the courage and found the time to have a go and this is my entry, an 8 x 8 card..
     The image is a craftsuprint one combined with spellbinders blossoms and Lattice dies, cheery Lyn fence and leaf swirl coloured with copic's, and l'leabilities bird dies.
     Its is three dimensional in that the top two flap open to reveal the full cottage and garden in all their summer glory enhanced with a little flittering of glitter to add some sunshine twinkle.
     I didn't win the challenge but I'm back blogging for the first time in a very long time. So if you've stopped by and taken time to look. Thank you and hope you'll drop back again soon. Hugs and stay safe xxx
