The title makes it sound all dramatic but it is not.

I am personnally very glad to blog again, I wonder why I ever stopped actually. See, me -Beny- and 3 other fabulous girls started this blog 4 years ago. Each of us made it unique and this is exactly what we wanted The Core to be...UNIQUE and personal.

However, as in every fairy tales, everything's perfect until the witch appears. In this case, the witch was LIFE.

In 2012,the 4 amazing girls (I love superlatives) took different paths and unfortunately this blog was not a priority. 3 of us are still very close, so close that I even have a tattoo in common with one of them (siiiick) and as far as I am concerned,I would not picture my life without these 2. Of course not being in touch with the fourth one was painful at the start but then people grow up.They CHANGE.

Anyway,just to make things clear, I (Beny still) decided to take this blog back because I thought it was time for a change. Even though no one may read this post, it is important to clear things out.

Kate Middleton admitted in hospital for ''pregnancy-sickness''

The Duchess of Cambridge was admitted in hospital 3 days ago,due to acute morning sickness.

She is staying at the King Edward VII hospital in London, where her husband,The Duke,joined her later on ,as he was spending the weekend with friends.

But why all this happiness in England? Seems like the news of a young woman who needs extra fluids and nutrition cares make a whole country happy.

A royal baby on the way?

The couple announced later on, that Kate Middleton was apparently pregnant,which explain the amount of joy reigning in the country. The Duchess wanted to keep this pregnancy secret until she reaches 12 weeks. Unfortunately her journey in hospital kind of rushed the news.

The Core says congrats and wishes the best for the family.

The American designer Michael Kors (MK) opened his 6th store in the UK on the 25th October.

This store is located in Covent Garden, London. Of course The Core couldn't miss the opening, so we rushed over there, had a quick chit-chat with the lovely manager and went back home with lovely golden gloves from MK and a tote bag.

We all agreed that we should keep the enthusiasm a little bit longer. Therefore, we thought it could be a nice idea to team up with MK and give away the tote bag, ''Michael Kors Loves Covent Garden'', to someone that didn't have the chance to attend the opening.

The Core should be punished by letting you down for such a long time...but we are overwhelmed to see,that despite the lack of news, you guys keep checking out the blog.

You may know by now that myself, Beny, have a very weird relationship with fashion. It's kind of a love/hate relationship. Anyway, today i am here to update you with what's new in the Fashion industry and what make people talk.

Balenciaga/Ghesquière the end of long story

Nicolas Ghesquière turned the french house,Balenciaga, into a huge, and respected luxury brand. After 15 years working as the creative director, PPR, which owns the brand, announced the departure of Ghesquière on the 5th of November 2012. Surprising news as it is N.Ghesquière himself that transformed the brand, which was performing quite well during those 15 years.

Ghesquière would apparently create his own brand in collaboration with LVMH which make people speculate. Why leaving PPR for LVMH? However regarding the name of his successor at Balenciaga, it remains a mystery.

H&M & Maison Martin Margiela

You want to wear big names but your bank account can't keep up? Do not worry, H&M got your back and your credit card...as always. It's been years now that H&M wants to make Luxury affordable (*cough* kind of). And it works, everytime they launch a new collaboration with a famous brand, fashonistas over the world rush to dry out the stores. From Stella McCartney to Jimmy Choo or Lanvin, it's been a success. This year Maison Martin Margiela (MMM) give the chance to all the ''small budget fashion addict'' to wear its atypical collection.

Gaspard Ulliel plays Yves St Laurent in an up coming movie

Hard to recognise him behind the glasses, but take a closer look. The Chanel's new face is a complete look a like to Yves Saint Laurent.
The french beauty is going to give his face and his acting skills for a film dedicated to YSL. Gaspard Ulliel will be working with the director Bertrand Bonello.

It's been a while isn't it? The Core's team has been quite busy. Julia, Do and Beny are back to School and having a lot to do, but you may hear about them quite soon...

So What those days have been bringing? What's new, hot, on, in.... Let's see!

Let's talk a bit about the luckiest toddlers in the world!
The little Beckham's girl, Harper Seven, has recently shown that she was ready to go after her mom in fashion. Wearing Chloe or Little Marc Jacobs, the little girl even has her own bag; Victoria created "The Harper" bag.

During the Paris Fashion week, another little girl got quite lucky without even realizing it. Emme, Jennifer Lopez' daughter, attended, at only 4 years old, the Chanel fashion show, front row please, proudly carying her little Chanel bag (and getting a bit bored during the show).

Last but not least, and probably the most lucky of all the boys, Alexander. After 25 years of love and life sharing, the fashion journalist Richard Buckley and the great designer Tom Ford decided to adopt a little boy.

If they are ever planing on adopting a little girl, I agree on wearing dresses all my life!

MTV Video Music Awards-VMAS 2012

Since 1984, the youth's favourite music channel, best known as MTV broadcasts the Video Music Awards. This year, the VMAS will be hold in Los Angeles on the 6th September 2012 and hosted by the comedian Kevin Hart.
The different categories are already set and so are the nominees. It is now up to you to vote for your favourite artist or band.

The VMAS fall down into 15 different categories. The Core expects a very tight battle between the Beliebers and the Directioners in the Best Pop Video, so Ladies be prepared. And why not a throw of bottles between Drake and Chris Brown in the Best Male Video.

Which brings us to Rihanna and Drake kicking ass with 6 and 5 nominations respectively and based on Robert Pattinson's prognostic RiRi is likely to win the Video of the year.
But what about Lady Gaga? Seems like the new queen of pop has been forgotten...

From the fashion side of the event we expect our eccenctric fashion icons such as Katy Perry or Nicki Minaj to surprise us,the glamour of Beyonce and why not to spot Jelena(Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez) showing their love again and again.

Oh and how could i forget about the hottest couple right now(after Beyonce and Jay Z lets be honest): Kanye West and Kim Kardashian.

Hi all!

In order to improve the quality of my recordings, I lately bought a new micrphone and sound card. As I went through the microphones, I decided to buy a Rode Pack, including microphone, anti pop filter and so on...

They were kind enough to provide a DVD including all the techniques you could use to record with this microphone, creating very intimate or rocky effects.

This is how I discovered Mitchell Thompson singing "Tasted" from his australian band called "Is it her".

I immediatly came to them cause this song was really great, some Placebo influences in it.

After some mailing with Damien Smith, the bassist of the band, he answered a few questions for us, talking about the way the met and decided to get seriously involved in their music!

How/When did you meet?

mitch and i grew up together, our mums were friends so we were always hanging out. Mitch met liam our drummer at school.

When did you decide to create an "official" band?

Mitch and lima would jam in music class and they gradually started taking it more and more seriously and started up a band MOLD, which later became is it her.

How did you choose the name of the band?

The name was just random, Mitch and liam though it was quirky at the time and we've just kept it.

How do you deal with the creative process? Does everyone have a special place like "Ok You do the lyrics,

then I do the instrumental"...

Mitch will write the crux of our songs and liam and myself will generally just toy with the minor things, just so the song takes on different feels and its not so black and white.

One of your best moment as a band?

Favourite moment as a band was playing to 5-600 screaming girls at Brigidine girls school. Was the first time we actually felt like we could have been famous, was nuts.

Live or Studio?

We love playing live, we have not really had much time in the studio, so we use live shows to really refine our sound and improve as musicians.

Do you have a dream as a band you did not achieve yet and keep on chasing?

We're just trying to improve constantly, refine our sound and songs, hopefully one day people will love our songs and will be lining up to buy our records. But that's still a long way away haha.

Which song you wish you had written/composed?

yes and no, i wish i had written mr brightside by the killers, but i know we would not have done it the justice that the killers have.

DO you have a special item/thing you do to bring you luck?

Hmm, not really, I guess, we tend to wear the same sort of things show after show thats about as close as it comes haha.

What would be your advice for somebody who'd like to start in music?

Um... get together and play with friends, you will become such better musicians from it and you will enjoy it that much more.

I know, it's pretty late here but I felt like sharing some cool and very funny stuff with you dear readers.

You just need to find a good picture of yourself (it's better if you face the camera), upload it, follow the website's instructions to get your face ready to be morphed and there you go... The world of designers is a world in which you must fight to make your point and ideas clear, and where you have to differentiate yourself from others each and every single day. It’s not a secret that originality is THE rule to which every designer or fashion creator has to live by if he wants to survive this tough world. For models it’s no different. They constantly search for new, fresh faces full of potential, but in order to succeed you need a lot more than just a pretty face. If you are not one of the most famous models in the modeling industry, your career could be over from one day to another. One day you’re in, the next day you’re out; like Heidi Klum would say.

Every day, new men and women step into the business and hope to become a big name in this world of fame and beauty. The most models are scouted in the most random places such as shops, streets, restaurants, McDonalds…or in Lottie Moss’ case: when you are a bridesmaid at your big sister’s wedding.

The name ‘Moss’ probably sounds very familiar to you, thinking of the famous British model Kate Moss. So…are they somehow related to eachother? That's right. Lottie Moss, or rather Charlotte Moss, is Kate Moss's half-sister. The thirteen year old girl was scouted at Kate’s wedding by ‘Storm Model Management’.

Last month, Lottie had her very first test-shoot with Vogue photographer Andrea Carted-Bowman, which brought even better results than the management had hoped for. She is not professional about posing yet, but she does have that expressiveness we all like in some models. Although it’s still too early to make definitive plans for Lottie, it already seems that she could have an even more successful career than Kate. From an interview with her father, we see that Lottie loved to spent a full day as a real professional model and that she is a very gifted girl who could achieve a lot once the plans are officially made.

Milan Stay- Gold Restaurant by Dolce & Gabbana

Amuse bouche & Cosmopolitan

Do you know this sentence: You get what you pay for? Well Dolce & Gabbana fully integrated this notion with a little extra. Magdalena and I booked a table to the Gold Restaurant on Friday night. We first had a drink in the smoking area, a diet coke for Miss Gray and a Cosmopolitan for myself. We were quite surprised by the amount of amuse bouche they brought us while drinking. Of course do not expect your drinks to be cheap as it is a high quality establishment but it does worth it because of the food.

The Bar's theme is about gold bullion bars, while the restaurant itself looks more purified with some white on the tables. The whole staff is very welcoming and take the time to anticipate your every needs. We had a long and nice dinner! On photos, the place looks empty when actually few minutes after it was full of people which i guess is normal for a friday night.

As a result Magdalena and I really love this place,we even thought about going back. I couldn't walk after the dinner, I was so full. But for sure this is the 1st place i will go back next time!

Milan Stay- Maison Moschino-

Hi everyone,

Beny and myself are just back from Milano where we had a blast! No need to say that, as we went there during the first days of the Italian Sales, it was quite busy!

After hours of train and flight, we finaly arrived at Maison Moschino.

Designed into a XIX th Century milanese Train Station, the five stars Hotel created 65 rooms according to very peculiar themes.

Nevertheless, each design takes you to the Alice in Wonderland, seen by Moschino's sense of Elegance and pure Magical Greatness.

Model on spot: Carolina Ballesteros

Long hair,flawless face, bright eyes and measurements you are dreaming about, Spain gave to the fashion industry Carolina Ballesteros. It is at the age of 14 that Carolina started modelling for worldwide magazines as Vogue or Elle. But it is at 16 that she launched her career at international level with IMG. Today Carolina.B is travelling from a country to another and experimenting a real model's lifestyle.

It's been awhile that The Core and Carolina are in touch, and therefore she nicely accepted to tell us what her life is really about.

What was your 1^st photo shoot like? Nervous much or ''born for this,you can tell''?

Hahaha. To be honest, i don't remember. I'm a model since I'm 12 years old, but i think i was kind of excited!!

Do you feel like you have missed your early-teenage years ?

Not at all. I had such an amazing early teenage years! Modeling at first was my hobbie, not my full-time job. So i had time for "living my teenage life".

What is the fashion industry like in your opinion? Is it as shallow as some people could imagine it?

It is really normal from the inside. People think fashion is a wonderful world, but it is just a job with workers on it!!

How do you stay skinny?

It's because of my parents. But i have to say, i have super healthy habits about food. So, it's a little of everything :P

Is there any pressure from your agency(eating habits,personal situation...)?

The pressure comes more from clients (photographers, designers...) than the agency.

But it's not that terrible as people think. hahaha.

Are you afraid of being seen just as a ''pretty face'' because you are a model?Do you wish people to focus more on your knowledge?

Sometimes that's really annoying, but sadly, that's sometimes kind of true... People focuses on the "pretty face" and not in the soul behind that.

What does your family and friends think about your job?

They are really proud of me! That's one of the best part of modeling. There is not a familiar lunch without talking about me and my job and it's very funny!

What was your best experience thanks to your job?

Traveling, amazing jobs, lifestyle... i don't know. You just can grow up as person and see everything from the "outside" of your "normal" life.

It's very interesting!

What would be your advice to become a model?

Follow your dreams, fight for it. The way to get to your dreams is often really difficult.

How do you imagine yourself in 10 years?

I have no idea!! I can't even know what i'm gonna do tomorrow, so... 10 years is too long!!

Black Milk Clothing.

"So who am I? I'm just the guy with the coolest job in the world."

-James Lillis.

Black Milk Clothing is an online fashion label that manufactures awesome printed leggings, swimsuits, tops and skirts, all the way back in their little design studio in Brisbane, Australia. In just a few years, the label got extremely popular and earned recognition all over the world. It’s original, alternative, colorful and unique. The label also cooperates with a big name in the shoe-fashion, Jeffrey Campbell, and designed some amazing pairs of shoes.

But where did the idea of creating this kind of clothes come from? Who’s the mastermind behind all of this? There’s only one answer to that: James Lillis.

All started with a secondhand sewing machine and a boy who had only 6 bucks left in his pocket. One day, Lillis wanted to make himself a shirt, and with no money left he walked into a fabric shop and bought himself the cheapest fabric he could find; nylon lining. As Lillis put it himself: “It was these fateful decisions that lead me down the path to Black Milk. Because nylon lining doesn't look particularly attractive, it meant I had to make it fitted. I made myself a tight shirt. It was tragic. The stitching was wrong, the pieces were cut weird, and the neck was a nothing more than a hole. And I loved it. I wore it constantly.”

From there on, Lillis started to focus on doing odd small jobs to earn money, but at the same time he was already planning and plotting in the back of his mind. Each time when he earned some, he went to a store and bought some new fabrics to try out new things. He made a pair of leggings out of tribal African printed fabrics and tried it out on a friend of his friend. He cut and sewed them again and again until they fit, and in the end, the girl was so satisfied that she asked Lillis if she could buy them. This was a major change in Lillis’ plans and from then on, he knew what he wanted to do. He wanted to design more of these clothes, because if there was one girl who was prepared to buy one pair of his leggings, there were probably even more girls who wanted to do the same.

As Lillis only had his sewing machine (which he couldn’t even use properly yet), he had no other option than to figure out how to create something in the best possible way. He attended sewing lessons and slowly his collection of self-made clothes was becoming bigger and bigger. The next step was something more difficult: go out and sell the stuff! Most of the stores turned him down, and when he finally found one who wanted to give him the chance to try and sell his stuff, this turned out into a disaster. So Lillis decided to go to markets and try to sell his creations there, but also there he and his creations weren’t very loved.

But then the unexpected happened. More and more people found Lillis’ creation through his blog, and it very soon got to the point where Lillis’ clothes were selling rather well at his little online shop. This is when he decided that Black Milk clothing would be exclusively an online fashion label, and it seems he made the right decision. His clothes are selling very well and Black Milk clothing became a lot bigger than he expected.

By now Lillis has an entire team which helps him to continue to make his dream come true, and an entire community of devoted Black Milk fans.

Raf Simons' debut for Dior, 2nd of July.

If you are a little aware of everything that has recently been happening in the fashion world, then you must surely know who the creative director of Dior is. Exactly, Raf Simons. I am honored and proud that I can tell you that yesterday afternoon, Simons had his debut show for Christian Dior in Paris. If there’s ever been a show the fashion world has waited with absolute bated breath to see, it’s this one: Raf Simons’ debut for Christian Dior. The show could be followed online at Dior.com.

The modest Neerpelt -a Belgian, just like me- Raf Simons, said earlier that "Too many people look up to fashion. Gone with that elitist stuff, fashion should be for the people again." though, his new employer, Christian Dior, keeps fashion more exclusive. Exclusive in every sense of the word. Very chic and not available everywhere. Certainly the haute couture. In France, couture is still a protected trademark. The unique garments are tailored for a selected market of the richest women on earth.

Christian Dior is also exclusive in the sense of ‘exclude’. Not everyone is allowed to get inside. The pile of applications for the fashion show this year was higher than other years. Journalists from the oddest corners of the world wanted to witness the first Raf Simons’ fashion show for Dior.

Last week, Simons’ presented us his Eponymous spring/summer 2013 menswear collection. This proved -once again- how talented this designer is, and that he is the right man for Dior. It was androgynous, clean and his uniforms turned out to be a real statement at the end of the day.

Yesterday, fashion addicts and journalists from all around the world gathered to witness Raf Simons' first representation and prove as to why he is worthy to be creative director of Dior. The result was better than wished for and all the hope and expectation was fulfilled. Simons is a genius, a person who is respected and admired by many. The fashion world is hard and intimidating, yet Simons took the challenge without fear. He came and he conquered. ;)

There was elegant femininity; cigarette trousers sat beneath bustier dresses which came short and strapless and encrusted with embroidery – they were modern-day ball dresses. Then came more strapless gowns, this time with severely-defined pockets and their waists cinched in. They were architectural but feminine and there was a sense of respect too, with skirt lengths sitting below the knee at mid-calf. Colours stayed soft and pretty – pale pinks and blue – and made for a fresh contrast to the neon make-up and the severity of the pointed shoes.

What exactly is it that Simons did to become such great results and leave the audience in such delight? I wish I had personally been there so I could have watched it and give myself an answer to my question. But I wasn’t, so the only thing I can say is; there's something magical happened. That's the only explanation I have.

Adele: Her pregnancy announcement

It is official the British singer ,Adele is expecting her first baby at the age of 24 years old. The lucky daddy is Simon Konecki (38). The couple is dating since January 2012.
The Grammy Award winner wrote on her website:

“I’m delighted to announce that Simon and I are expecting our first child together. I wanted you to hear the news direct from me. Obviously we’re over the moon and very excited, but please respect our privacy at this precious time,”

Pretty soon it won't be awards that Adele will carry. Anyway,The Core says congratulations to the couple!

Hey all,

As many people did those last days, we would like to make a tribute for the man who inspired us all at least once in our lives: Michael Jackson.

And, on The Core, we believe it is better talking of the 51 years he was with us than when he died.

We may have all different memories concerning how we discovered his music, all of his dance routines and his inimitable style.

For me, I have a clear remember of how I fell in love with his talent. I was 7 and HIStory, the video (yes, no DVD at that time) from the album of the same name.

On this DVD, you see parts of the show and many video clips, with special appearances such as Mc Caulay Culkin, Eddie Murphy, or Naomi Campbell. And I imagine myself in most of those works of Art...

For some others, Beat it, Thriller or Bad are the songs who made him a legend. But my legend of Michael Jackson started with all the paper kids shapes during HIStory shows....

And even if sometimes i feel a little bid old in this Core, I am happy that I was born soon enough to have a lot to remember about him.

Hi all!

Today (or tonight, whatever), I'm playing the gossip part as I had some news here and there that made me think "gosh, 2012 is really the end of the World".

By this, I mean the big bad new Celebz Love Life has ever had to carry: Johnny and Vanessa broke up!

And for the first time, before feeling happy about the fact that a sex symbol is now single, you feel sad about the perfect couple you always admired!

Remember this Oprah appearance a few years ago where Johnny Depp said "I saw her getting out of a boat, and I knew it was her, the only one."

Come on John, you messed it up! Yes, Cause Vanessa is too cute to have any responsability in this. Anyway, let's have a visual overview of our favorite ex-couple in the showbusiness!

I first heard about her in a magazine were she was telling how her dad was insisting on her to graduate before making a second album!

The first one is a very pure and out of time work of Art. The weaknesses in the voice makes it even more naive and charming. At 16, she is a very natural and strong singer, songwriter and composer. All the best for you!

Hello my loves, it's Beny!
I felt the need to come and to chit-chat a little. As you may know it now, last week has been all about The Core. Unfortunately, Julia had to leave a bit earlier so we had a nice drink - full of calories,for sure- at the French Coffee Shop , and brought her and her friend Carole to the train station.

Afterwards, Magdalena and I did a photo shoot for the website she created with Domien.
I am very looking forward to seeing the photos, i am sure my girl did a great job as usual!
I barely had the time to change my clothes that we had to catch the bus to go to my house which is in Tours' country side.

We also did a photo shoot during the night, a little bit scary and ''psycho'' but it was a lot of fun. The day after we had a photo shoot in the nature, the wind was so strong that i could not even walk.

As you may know it is summer, Beny's back from London, Magdalena from USA and Julia is free from university. Therefore it was the perfect opportunity to meet each other in Beny's home town : Tours.

Paris, 26.05 : Tim Burton Exhibition

Hey all!

I went in Paris and ended at the Cinémathèque, for the Tim Burton Exhibition that began in May and will end in August.

This was the occasion to remember all the things I knew about him and learn some new stuff!

The exhibition was very personal, as you could see his private Polaroid Collection, immortalizing his most famous characters such as Sally or the Wolfman of The Nightmare Before Christmas.

As you were watching them, you came from corners to corners, seeing where he began with his first book submission to Disney Studios, that was refused but fiercely encouraged.

An entire corner is dedicated to my favourite cartoon of Tim Burton: Vincent. This very dark cartoon has been his "forced way out" from Disney Studio as they judged it to be too dark for a Disney collaboration.

Several screen were also here and there to see the less known videos of Tim Burton, the last screen showing a small part of each famous Burton's movies.

BUT. But. During this exhibition, there was a very special part. The "Real accessories" part.

This way, you were begining with the puppets of "The Corpse Bride" and "The Nightmare before Christmas", with a quite long line of all Jack faces used during the movie.

And the best part. The most magical to me, was all the Edward Scissorhands accessories. The hardest part was not to touch Edward entire outfit and not to jump on the scultped deer used during the shooting of the movie.

The exhibition was ending on tens of napkins Tim Burton drew on, probably getting a new idea whil having lunch outside!

For the ones who have the occasion to stop by Paris, don't hesitate and go to this Exhibition!
