The Bellevue PetSmart is located at 100 108th Ave NE, Bellevue, WA 98004. Directions can be found at http://stores.petsmart.com/result-details.php?store=2055.

Why should I adopt at this event?

More than 100 dogs and puppies of all different shapes, sizes, ages and breeds from 10 animal rescue organizations will be onsite available for adoption, along with over 40 cats and kittens from around the state.

Puppies, kittens, adults, small dogs, purebred and mixed breeds will be available. No need to buy a dog from a breeder and then have to pay for shots and spay/neuter, with these dogs all of that has been done and is included in the adoption price. All cats and kittens are also altered and up to date on shots, making the adoption donation a great value. The only thing these furry friends need is a new home to love and protect them for a lifetime. Plus our dogs and cats have a money back guarantee and are always welcome back at the shelter or rescue for any reason if it’s not a right fit for your family.

Experienced shelter staff, volunteers and trainers will be on hand to help you find the right animal for your family. The trainers will be available to answer your questions about any dog you are thinking of adopting. Shelter staff has evaluated each dog and cat’s behavior and temperament. Adoption fees range from $150 to $250 for dogs/puppies and $75 to $100 for cats/kittens.
Due to a flood of recent arrivals at the Kent shelter, Regional Animal Services of King County (RASKC) is looking to find good homes for lots of great dogs. To help in this effort, RASKC will waive the adoption fee for adult dogs from now until May 31.

“Because we don’t euthanize adoptable pets, space can sometimes get tight at the shelter,” said RASKC Manager Ken Nakatsu. “By temporarily waiving the adoption fee for adult dogs, we’re hoping to get more of them into loving, permanent homes. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking for a new member of the family.”

Until May 31, the adoption fee for dogs over six months old will be waived. Residents can take home their new pet for just the cost of the license, a savings of $75 to $250. All pets from RASKC are spayed or neutered, vaccinated (including rabies vaccination), and have received a health exam. Available pets can be seen at the shelter, 21615 64th Ave. S. in Kent, or online at www.kingcounty.gov/pets.

The shelter is also seeking volunteers to provide foster homes for both dogs and cats. Foster volunteers take care of pets on a temporary basis in their own homes until the pet is adopted.

“Fostering a dog or cat is easy to do, and we provide almost everything you need,” said Sarah Luthens, manager of volunteer programs at RASKC. “The pet benefits from being in a family environment, you benefit from having a loving, if temporary, companion, and it reduces the space crunch at the shelter.”
Prospective foster volunteers need to complete an application and attend a 90-minute training session. Once an animal is placed in a foster home, RASKC provides pet food, cat litter, a litter box, and medical care for the pet at no cost to the foster family.

Additional foster homes are needed for kittens and puppies that are too young for adoption, pets recovering from surgery or other ailments, or animals that need a break from the shelter environment as they wait for their forever home.

Foster training sessions will take place:

Thursday, May 19

Thursday, June 2

Thursday, June 9

Thursday, June 16

Thursday, June 23

All sessions run from 5:30-7 p.m. at the shelter, 21615 64th Ave. S. in Kent. To sign up for a session, call 206-296-3946 or email pets@kingcounty.gov.

noreply@blogger.com (S. Update - May 9, 2011
Our Birmingham Rescue team returned from tornado ravaged Alabama with 25 dogs, 30 puppies and 23 kittens. With the recent events of devastating tornadoes, not only have hundreds of animals been abandoned or lost, but sadly many displaced families were left no choice but to relinquish their pets. This has resulted in local shelters being inundated with animals with nowhere to go.

Why should I adopt at this event?

More than 75 dogs, puppies, cats and kittens of all different shapes, sizes, ages and breeds from 6 animal rescue organizations will be onsite available for adoption. Babies, adults, small and large, purebred and mixed breeds will be available. No need to buy a dog or cat from a breeder and then have to pay for shots and spay/neuter, with these animals, all of that has been done and is included in the adoption price. The only thing these furry friends need is a new home to love and protect them for a lifetime. Plus our animals have a money back guarantee and are always welcome back at the shelter or rescue for any reason if it’s not a right fit for your family.

Experienced shelter staff, volunteers and trainers will be on hand to help you find the right animal for your family. The trainers will be available to answer your questions about any dog you are thinking of adopting. Shelter staff has evaluated each dog’s behavior and temperament. Adoption fees range from $150 to $250 for dogs and $75 to $120 for cats.

LYNNWOOD, WA, — In anticipation of Spring, the Feral Cat Spay/Neuter Project is offering a promotion from now until April 30. Female cats will be spayed for a suggested donation of $25.
By having your cats altered now you can help reduce the number of homeless kittens that will be born this spring.

You won’t need the luck of the Irish to find a great pet at Regional Animal Services of King County (RASKC) this St. Patrick’s week. Cats and dogs of every size and color are ready for adoption at the animal shelter in Kent, Wash.
Adopting a pet from RASKC won’t cost you a lot of “green.” All pets from RASKC have had a veterinary exam, come spayed or neutered, have received all of their vaccinations (including rabies), and come with a pet license. Additionally, adult cats aged 6 months or older are available to adopt for just the cost of a pet license.
This week, Regional Animal Services is joining with Petfinder.com to help the website celebrate its 15th birthday. Many of RASKC’s adoptable pets are listed online through Petfinder.com, and can be found at www.kingcounty.gov/pets. The celebration kicks off on Tuesday, March 15 with Petfinder’s “Adopt the Internet Day.” Residents can support adoptable pets online by adding a special badge to their website, by Tweeting about adoptable pets, or by adding an adoptable pet to their Facebook page. For more information about “Adopt the Internet Day,” visit www.petfinder.com/adopttheinternet.
To try your luck and search for a treasured pet, visit the RASKC shelter, located at 21615 64th Ave. S. in Kent, or view adoptable pets online at www.kingcounty.gov/pets.

Regional Animal Services of King County is a joint effort between partnering municipalities and King County to advance public health, safety, and animal welfare in the communities we serve. People interested in adopting or fostering a pet from should call 206-296-PETS or visit our website at www.kingcounty.gov/pets. Meet hundreds of great dogs and puppies from across Washington in one location. Come meet the dogs Sunday, December 12th, noon until 3 p.m. at Academy of Canine Behavior in Bothell, WA. Over 97 families found their new best friends at our last year’s Canine Christmas event!
The Academy of Canine Behavior is located at 4705 240th St. SE, Bothell, WA 98021. Directions can be found at http://www.aocb.com/contact.
Why should I adopt at this event?
More than 100 dogs and puppies of all different shapes, sizes, ages and breeds from 11 animal rescue organizations will be onsite available for adoption. Puppies, adults, small dogs, purebred and mixed breeds will be available. No need to buy a dog from a breeder and then have to pay for shots and spay/neuter, with these dogs all of that has been done and is included in the adoption price. The only thing these dogs need is a new home to love and protect them for a lifetime. Plus, our dogs have a money back guarantee and are always welcome back at the shelter or rescue for any reason if it’s not a right fit for your family.
Experienced shelter staff, volunteers and trainers will be on hand to help you find the right animal for your family. The trainers will be available to answer your questions about any dog you are thinking of adopting. Shelter staff has evaluated each dog’s behavior and temperament. Adoption fees range from $150 to $250.
Participating organizations bringing animals to adopt include:
