Orange, Calif. – February 10, 2012 – Hansen Racing Team riders Matt Lemoine, Nick Myers, and John Pauk will be using Talon/Excel wheelsets provided by Dubya USA for the 2012 Supercross and Motocross seasons.

Bel-Ray Racing-Weekend Racing Preview – February 10, 2012

San Diego, California will be the site of the final Golden State appearance of the 2012 Monster Energy Supercross Series. On Saturday night, February 11th, the stars of Supercross will compete for the top step of the podium.

Coming into San Diego after another podium finish is TwoTwo Motorsports/Bel-Ray Racing's Chad Reed. Second in the points standings, just three points away from the leader, Reed has confidence on his side this weekend. His six previous main event wins in San Diego are the most by any competitor. Look for #22 to be leading the pack when the gate drops this weekend.

The Dodge/Hart & Huntington/Sycuan Casino/Bel-Ray Racing team is hoping to rebound from last weekend's disappointing finishes in Anaheim. Josh Hansen’s DNF on Saturday night ended his string of Top 10 finishes, but Hansen intends to re-start his streak again this week. Despite a strong showing in his heat race, Kyle Partridge struggled in the main event and finished 16th. Both riders are currently in the top 20 in the series' points standings coming into this weekend's event.

Team Rockstar Energy Racing Suzuki's Martin Davalos and Jason Anderson both come to San Diego with something to prove. With a more than two month break ahead, a positive finish this weekend will set the tone for their training and preparations to finish the series. Teammates Blake Wharton and Hunter Hewitt will replace Davalos and Anderson for the East Coast rounds until the series returns to West Coast in Seattle, WA on April 21st.

Bel-Ray Racing-Weekend Racing Wrap-Up – February 6, 2012

Angels Stadium in Anaheim, California again played host to the Monster Energy Supercross Series on Saturday night. Southern California fans had the opportunity to witness exceptional racing for the second time this season.

TwoTwo Motorsports/Bel-Ray Racing's Chad Reed has been a favorite for each main event. Reed had an excellent choice of starting gate position after he finished second in his heat race. When the gate dropped he was in second place on the first lap. Reed slipped back into third place just before the half way point, a position he would hold until the end of the event. His third place finish moves him back into second place for the series, just three points out of the lead.

Dodge/Hart & Huntington/Sycuan Casino/Bel-Ray Racing's Josh Hansen and Kyle Partridge both qualified well in their heat races, with Hansen taking a fourth place finish and Partridge taking sixth. Hansen experienced technical issues in the main event and was forced out of the race. Teammate, Partridge, started near the middle of the pack, and rode a consistent race to finish in sixteenthplace. Both riders are in the Top 20 in points, with Hansen in twelfth and Partridge in eighteenth place.

This season has had its share of ups and downs for Team Rockstar Energy Racing Suzuki. Both Martin Davalos and Jason Anderson qualified directly for the main event from their heat races, with Davalos scoring third place in heat race #1 and Anderson scoring ninth place in heat race #2. The main event began with both riders just outside the Top 10 on the first lap. Anderson went down in a high speed corner, and Davalos went down just behind him. Davalos was quick to recover and finished in tenth place. Slower to make a recovery, Anderson finished in twentieth place. Anderson sits tenth in the series' points standings, while Davalos is currently sixteenth place.

The series continues at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, California this Saturday night.

Red Bull Joins Forces with MX Nationals

(February 1, 2012) - MX Sports Pro Racing and Alli Sports have announced a multi-year agreement with Red Bull, the world's leading energy drink, to become the "Official Energy Drink of Pro Motocross" for the upcoming Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing. The partnership will be highlighted by Red Bull title sponsorship at three of the 12 national events this summer -- Budds Creek (June 16), RedBud (July 7) and Unadilla (August 18).

Bel-Ray Weekend Racing Wrap-Up

Round 4 of the 2012 Monster Energy Supercross series took place on Saturday night, January 28th in Oakland, California. The 2012 racing season has been full of exciting action and Saturday’s event didn’t disappoint the crowd.
TwoTwo Motorsports/Bel-Ray Racing’s and winner of Round 3, Chad Reed, looked like he was going to continue his winning ways when he grabbed the holeshot in the main event. Reed led for the first half of the race until eventual race winner, James Stewart, got by. Reed kept Stewart in sight and continued to ride a smart race holding onto second place at the end of the race. Reed’s second place finish puts him into a tie for the points lead as the series heads south to Anaheim, California for Round 5.
Dodge/Hart & Huntington/Sycuan Casino/Bel-Ray Racing’s Josh Hansen scored another top 10 finish for the 4th round in a row. Fellow teammate Kyle Partridge qualified directly into the main event with a strong 6th place finish. Early in the main event, Partridge went down in a difficult section of the track and could not continue. He was credited with 20th place for the main event. Despite his 20th place finish in the main event, Partridge is 19th in the point’s standings.
Team Rockstar Energy Racing Suzuki team riders Martin Davalos and Jason Anderson provided a great deal of excitement on Saturday night. Davalos scored a confident 3rd place in his heat race while Anderson won the last chance qualifier for the second week in a row. Davalos took the holeshot in the main event and led early, while Anderson was coming through the field after a mid-pack start. Anderson was on a charge that brought him as high as 3rd before he was taken down in a corner by another rider. He was slow to remount and placed 12th by the end of the race. Davalos, allowed few riders to pass, giving up his lead, placing him 9th at the checkered flag. Both riders are in the top 15 in the series standings with Anderson in 7th and Davalos in 15th.
The series continues next Saturday night in Anaheim California for Round 5.

Renegade Racing Fuels would come into Oakland with momentum in the lites class as Tomac would look to repeat his winning ways and stand on the top step of the podium again. In the Supercross class Renegade Racing Fuels would see 5 riders advance on to the main event as the top 20 riders at Oakland. Renegade Racing Fuels Powersports Director, Mark Ticen, stated "the 2012 season could possibly go down in the books as one of the best years of racing. I know that many of us have said it before, this year the classes are stacked, but you can watch a race this season and see great battles going on throughout the entire field. This season the classes are so competitive that you see common names from years past going to the LCQ or not making the main events. For a lot of riders, they are putting in a ton of hard work and a great effort just to make the main and they can be proud to say they were one of the top 20 riders on that day."

Hendersonville, North Carolina: It’s a podium followed by a podium for Zach Osborne in the Monster Energy Supercross Lite West Series, on his Team Monster Energy BikeIt Cosworth Yamaha YZ250F, fitted end-to-end with Öhlins suspension. Osborne followed up his third-place finish last week with a third-place finish this week, in Saturday’s SX event in Oakland, California, at the Overstock.com Coliseum. Smooth.
Clocking the second-fastest time in his Heat, Osborne earned gate number-four for his start in the Main, where he launched off into about eighth-place into the first turn. Osborne quickly made a handful of passes and was immediately also aided by errors of others, finding himself suddenly in second.
At the other end of the race, with just two laps to go, Osborne was passed for position to finish a close third at the checkers, less than two-seconds behind second, and more than two-seconds in front of fourth. Osborne’s consistency throughout the season has catapulted him into sole ownership of third-in-points, a mere six points from second place. And he did it all just for fun.
After the race Osborne said, “I was comfortable all day and thought I’d be in contention for a podium, maybe the win. In my Heat I didn’t have a great start but rode well to finish second. In the Main, after just a few laps, I rode a little tight and had some arm pump. I think that seeing the others make mistakes and fall in front of me caused me to over-think things a bit and tighten up. Early off I was running at around eighth and then pretty suddenly I was in second. I never really regained the speed I knew I had, though third is a really good finish. Everything with the bike was comfortable and great, showing how pre-season testing with Marty from Öhlins USA has paid off. ”
Using these races as pre-season testing for his real job, South Carolinian Osborne will no longer be competing for the SX Lites West Championship in the USA, but has now headed off to Europe to compete in the MX2 World Championship Series. His first race overseas is March 11, in the British Championship Series, and then the MX2 World Championship Series starts its season April 9, in the Netherlands. But don’t despair, Osborne has announced that next year he will challenge for the SX Lites Championship here at home.

JDR/J-Star/KTM’s Moss Earns Career Best Finish at Oakland Supercross

Oakland, Calif. (January 29, 2012) - Moss was placed in the first SX Lites heat race where he earned a mid-pack start around the first corner. He quickly moved around a few riders to move inside the top ten. After six laps, Moss passed two additional riders and qualified 8th overall into the main event.

Moss’ teammate, Ryan Marmont, returned from injury at the Oakland Supercross and was placed in the second SX Lites heat. Marmont pulled a phenomenal start to round the first corner in 2nd position. Unfortunately, his endurance is still lacking from the multiple injuries and time off the bike over the past few months so he slipped out of qualifying position. Marmont was sent to the LCQ where he held on for a 2nd place finish to take the final transfer spot to the main event.
“I consider it a good night to qualify into the main event tonight,” stated Marmont. “I wasn’t able to ride much since hitting my head in a practice crash two weeks ago and it catches up to you fast. It was hard to hold on in my heat race and I am just glad I was able to qualify and will get a chance to compete in the main.”
When the gate dropped for the main event, Moss secured his best start this season when he nearly pulled the holeshot around the first corner. “I got a great jump off the gate and had the lead heading to the first corner but was slightly edged out by Martin Davalos,” remarked Moss. A decent start placed Moss inside the top five as the riders began to tackle the 15-lap main event.
Moss quickly moved into 4th place where he remained throughout the first half of the race. Moss held a consistent pace and rode with little mistakes to maintain his top five placement. The farthest he dropped throughout the race was 6th place which he quickly moved out of after capitalizing from a crash by Jason Anderson. He continued to move forward with a last minute pass on Davalos to regain 4th position. “I started to ride a little tight with a few laps to go and I lost one position to Ryan Sipes which put me in 5th place,” said Moss. “I’m still very excited with my finish and it gives me a confidence boost to know I can run up front. The goal from here out is to work toward a podium result.”
Marmont was not as fortunate in the main event and suffered a poor start and a crash near the mid-way point. He eventually finished the night in 19th position.

Ohlins Podiums Los Angeles SX

Hendersonville, North Carolina: Nailing a huge result for Öhlins, Zach Osborne rode to a third place finish in the Los Angeles Supercross Lites class on Saturday night at Dodger Stadium, stunning the regular factory teams with his Team Monster Energy BikeIt Cosworth Yamaha YZ250F, fitted with Öhlins suspension, both front and rear.

In his third SX Lites West race and third top-ten finish of 2012, Osborne earned third in class, catapulting him to a fourth-place tie in the points for the season, where he’s rubbing tires with the top three in the points.

Osborne started the day out big and right with second-fastest time in qualifying, winning Gate 1 for Heat 1. In Heat 1 he then locked up a great gate for the feature SX Lites race with a third-place finish. Starting the Main from Gate 6, Osborne finished the race just 16.6 seconds behind race-winner Eli Tomac, and a scant one second behind second-place-finisher Dean Wilson, who he battled gate-to-fireworks in a race that could have gone either way.

After the race Osborne said, “We now have a great setup for SX Lites. I can’t thank Marty Lange and everyone else at Öhlins USA enough for all the work they’ve done with me to sort out the set-up on my Yamaha. In my race I had a good start, then I settled in for a few laps before making a pass for second. Then Dean got me back with just a few laps to go. The bike was consistent all race long.”

The last chance to see Osborne in this series this year is at next week’s race in Oakland, California, at the O.co Coliseum. Following that event Osborne will be heading to Europe from his home in Chesterfield, South Carolina to compete in the MX2 World Championship Series. His first race overseas is March 11, in the British Championship Series, and then the MX2 World Championship Series starts its season April 9, in the Netherlands.

Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki Los Angeles Race Report

Corona, Calif. (January 23, 2012) – Los Angeles’ Dodger Stadium played host to the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship for the second time. Despite an ominous weather report, fans made their way to the stadium to catch round four of the series, in what proved to be an exciting and intense night of racing.
Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki rider Dean Wilson kept his podium momentum going and finished with a solid second in the Supercross Lites West Main. Wilson quickly got serious after an average start, and made multiple passes in the first lap. He held strong for the remainder of the race and finished in the runner-up spot. Wilson leaves Los Angeles one point behind the current points leader in the class, and wants everyone to know he’s taking the championship seriously.
“Second place is alright,” says Wilson, “but after winning in Phoenix I’m not really happy with second place anymore. Once you get the feeling of a win it’s hard to accept anything else. I know exactly what I have to work on this week, so I’m just going to stay focused and get it done.”
Tyla Rattray came to Los Angeles with the points lead, and the coveted red plate, in the Supercross Lites West Region. Rattray’s heat race didn’t go as planned, however, and a slight mishap forced him farther back in the pack than he had hoped, giving him a less-than-ideal gate pick for the Main. Rattray’s tenacious drive kept him focused during the Supercross Lites Main, though, and the South African stayed aggressive and finished strong in fourth. He still sits in the top three in the overall series points.
“It was a little bit of a tough night and it’s unfortunate that I got such a bad gate pick as a result of my heat race,” said Rattray, “but there are a few things I’m going to work on during the week and I plan on coming out swinging in Oakland.”
Broc Tickle fully redeemed himself in Los Angeles, and showed everyone he deserves to ride with the big boys. The competition was stacked in the Supercross Class, but Tickle stayed consistent and strong all night and earned an eighth place finish.
“I would say it was a big improvement from last weekend,” said Tickle. “We made some changes on the bike and watched a few tapes to find out where I could improve. I got a good start and made it up to eighth, but the top five isn’t a far reach for me. I can definitely do it.”
The Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki boys head to Oakland, Calif., this Saturday, January 28th for the fourth round of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship. Wilson sits second, one point behind the series points leader, in the Supercross Lites West Region with 62 points. Rattray moves to third with 60 points, and Tickle jumps up to 14th with 22 points in the Supercross Class.

Bel-Ray Racing-Weekend Racing Wrap Up – January 23, 2012

The 2012 Monster Energy Supercross series continued on Saturday night at Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles, California. Despite rain the night before and morning of the event, the race program took place under sunny skies and seasonable temperatures.

TwoTwo Motorsports/Bel-Ray Racing's Chad Reed claimed his first win of the 2012 season and the 41^st win of his career. Coming off 2^nd and 5^th place finishes in the previous two rounds of the series, Reed was struggling with bike setup and trying to find the top step of the podium. He set the 6^th fastest time in qualifying practice, but crashed in his heat race and could only manage an 8^th place qualifying position. The main event got underway, but was quickly red-flagged for two downed riders. Reed came out swinging on the re-start and moved quickly into 3^rd at the end of the 1^st lap, 2^nd at the end of the 3^rd lap and into the lead by the 5^th lap. He went on to ride a perfect fifteen laps on his way to the checked flag. Reed is currently tied for second in the series standings, just four points out of the lead.

The Dodge/Hart & Huntington/Sycuan Casino/Bel-Ray Racing team was off to a good start this weekend with all three of the riders qualifying for the main event. The main event took an early turn for the worst when Ivan Tedesco crashed, breaking his finger. Tedesco joins teammate Josh Hill on the injured list pending further review. Hansen and Partridge were able to finish the race in 7th and 16th respectively. The series point’s standings have Hansen in 9^th, Tedesco in 15^th and Partridge in 19^th after the first three rounds.

Each weekend has been an improvement for Team Rockstar Energy Racing Suzuki. Martin Davalos won his heat race, and Jason Anderson won the LCQ sending both riders to the main event. Anderson improved on his previous round's results with a great 5^th place finish. Davalos also improved on his early season results taking a well earned top 10 finish in 9th place. Anderson is currently 6^th in the points standings while Davalos is inside the top 20 in 17^th.

The series continues this Saturday night at the O.co Coliseum in Oakland, California.

Bel-Ray Super B Honda Concludes Dakar Rally With a Positive Finish.

Dakar is a 15 day 8,300 kilometer race through Argentina, Chile and Peru. With 443 vehicles taking part in 2012 event, the rally is the largest race of its type in the world.

Often referred to as the world’s toughest race, the 2012 Dakar certainly lived up to its name. The rally began in Argentina on New Year’s Day. The Bel-Ray Super B team of Quinn Cody, Sam Sunderland and Juan Carlos Salvatierra were considered to be top contenders for a victory, but this hope was short lived.

The first day of the race began with success for the Bel-Ray team as team leaders Sunderland and Cody were within the top 40 positions. Cody was ranked in 9^th and Sunderland was ranked in 35^th.

Day 2 saw the beginning of the team’s problems when the first of the Bel-Ray riders was forced out of the event. Elite rider, Sam Sunderland, was ruled out of the race with a technical issue. Despite his valiant efforts to remedy the situation, he was unable to resolve the problem, and was forced out of the event. When he retired, Sunderland was competing in the top 10 of the 188 rider field.

The team’s second elite Quinn Cody started the race exceptionally well and was into a top 10 position during the early stages. On day 3, disaster struck the young American rider. In a high speed, spectacular crash, which was seen around the world, Cody was injured. His injuries included a suspected broken clavicle, a lance to the eye and a concussion. His injuries were too much to continue, and another of Bel-Ray’s racers was forced to retire from the event.

Cody's crash left Juan Carlos Salvatierra as Bel-Ray's final hope for a respectable finish in the event. Making progress from an early position outside the top 150, Salvatierra performed with great skill and promise. He progressed through the field, winning several non-elite class special stages along the way. With his teammates out of the event, Salvatierra was the lucky recipient of some of the special parts reserved for team leaders Cody and Sunderland. Salvatierra rewarded the team by ending the 15 day event in 31^st position.

Despite the difficulties endured by Sunderland and Cody, the 2012 Dakar was a positive experience for the Bel-Ray Super B Honda team. The finish shown by Salvatierra is a sign of things to come for the Bolivian rider. Sunderland and Cody will regroup for the 2013 running of the Dakar, beginning next January.

MotoConcepts Phoenix Race Report

Temecula, CA. MotoConcepts Racing (MCR) performed in front of the almost 50,000 Supercross fans poured who beautiful Chase Field in Phoenix Saturday night for the second race of the 2012 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series. Like the prior week, the team fielded three warriors – Mike Alessi, Jeff Alessi in the Supercross class and Vince Friese on Lites for the January 14^th, 2012 event.
Vince started off inauspiciously, hitting a Tuff block kicked onto the track by eventual main event winner Dean Wilson, causing him to eat some dirt in the first go at timed qualifying. He regrouped for the second session and went into the night show with the 15^th fastest lap time. Friese, usually a fine starter, gated poorly in both his heat race and the main event. He took the last transfer spot to the main in his heat with a 9^th place finish. After rounding the first lap of the main in 16^th, Vince picked off a couple of riders in the first few laps of the race and settled into 14^th place, where he ended his evening. He sits 15^th overall in series points after two races.
For Jeff, the younger of the Alessi brothers, the day almost ended before it really even started. Coming up short on the triple during untimed practice, he bent the shift rod going into the engine case. His mechanic worked feverishly to repair the bike while Jeff missed the first session of timed practice. In the second session, Jeff was able to secure a time fast enough to move him forward to the night program, where he placed out of a direct transfer spot in his heat race. In the Last Chance Qualifier, Jeff showed much improvement and ran as high as 4^th place, to eventually finish 5^th.
Mike Alessi looked good all day, qualifying 10^th ahead of such notable riders as Millsaps, Short, Grant, Tedesco, Metcalfe, and Wey. His MCR-built race bike has been working well for Mike this year and his lap times reflect it. He easily qualified for the main event by placing 3^rd in his heat and felt confident going into the main. Uncharacteristically, he got a terrible start, coming around the first turn in the back of the back. Mike went to work and moved up six places on the first lap to 11^th position. Battling with factory Honda rider Justin Brayton, the two became entangled and both went down hard, with Mike having difficulty restarting his bike. He rejoined the field almost 30 seconds off of the next closest rider but didn’t give up. He put in solid laps for the remainder of the race, moving his way up to 16^th place the race’s end. He currently sits 12^th place overall in the series.

FARMINGDALE, NJ – January 16, 2012 – Bel-Ray Company, Inc. – Bel-Ray Racing-Weekend Racing Wrap-Up

Round 2 of the 2012 Monster Energy Supercross season took place on Saturday night, January 14^th in Phoenix, Arizona. Riders from all 3 of Bel-Ray’s professional Supercross teams competed.

TwoTwo Motorsports/Bel-Ray Racing's Chad Reed started the evening well on the challenging track, recording the second fastest lap in timed qualifying. Reed’s night went downhill from there. While challenging for the lead in his heat race he fell in a corner, handing the lead away. Reed was able to quickly remount and qualify for the main event with a 7^th place finish. Reed began the main event around the middle of the pack. He challenged quickly and was able to advance to 7^th place by mid-race. As the main event drew to a close Reed worked his way into 5^th place where he finished. His finish, coupled with the 2^nd place from the opening round a week ago leaves Reed in 3^rd place in the series standings.

The Dodge/Hart & Huntington/Sycuan Casino/Bel-Ray Racing team came to Phoenix down a rider as Josh Hill suffered a broken leg in Anaheim and will be out of action for the next several weeks. The 3 remaining members qualified directly for the main event from their respective heat races. Josh Hansen and Ivan Tedesco finished 4^th and 5^th respectively in the first heat, while Kyle Partridge finished 8^th in the second heat. The main event was a bit more difficult for the team as all 3 riders suffered from poor starts and were forced to work their way through the field from the back. By the end of the main event, Hansen had worked his way into his second top 10 finish of the season. Tedesco improved on last week by finishing in 11^th place, and Partridge in his first main event of the year, finished 17^th. All 3 riders currently sit inside the top 20 in the series point’s standings with Hansen in 10^th, Tedesco in 11^th and Partridge in 20^th.

Team Rockstar Energy Racing Suzuki continues to turn in promising performances. Both Jason Anderson and Martin Davalos have shown they have the speed to run up front. Anderson turned in an excellent 3^rd place finish in his qualifying heat. Teammate Davalos was leading his heat when an unfortunate mistake caused him to go down. Davalos was not able to recover quickly enough for a direct transfer, but he won the LCQ and transferred to the main event. Both riders started inside the top 10 in the main event. Anderson rode a consistent race to an eventual 7^th place finish. Davalos had an excellent race going and was up to 8^th place before retiring with a couple of laps to go. He was awarded a 20^th place finish. Anderson currently sits in 6^th place and Davalos in 24^th place in the overall series standings.

Round 2 of the Monster Energy Supercross series will take place on Saturday night, January 14^th in Phoenix, Arizona. Bel-Ray teams and riders will be in attendance at Chase Field, the home of Major League Baseball’s Arizona Diamondbacks. For the 2012 season, Bel-Ray is the lubricant of choice for TwoTwo Motorsports/Bel-Ray Racing, Dodge Motorsports/Hart & Huntington/Sycuan Casino/Bel- Ray Racing and Team Rockstar Energy Racing Suzuki, as well as several privateers competing each weekend.

Off to a successful start to the 2012 season, TwoTwo Motorsports/Bel-Ray Racing's Chad Reed comes to Arizona second in the points following his podium finish at round 1 in Anaheim, California. Reed won his heat and raced to a commendable second place finish in the main event. Reed will be a favored contender for a victory this weekend in Phoenix.

The Dodge Motorsports/Hart & Huntington/Sycuan Casino/Bel-Ray Racing team arrives in Phoenix with mixed results from the opening round. Both Ivan Tedesco and Josh Hansen showed promise by entering the main event directly from their heat race. Tedesco took an early top 5 position, and if not for an unfortunate fall late in the main event would have finished in the top 10. Teammate, Josh Hansen, started near the back of the pack, and charged through the field to an eventual top 10 finish. The other half of the team suffered less than ideal results. New team rider Kyle Partridge just missed out on a qualifying position in his heat race. While running in a qualifying position during the LCQ, he went down in a corner and couldn’t regain his position. Teammate Josh Hill was involved in a first turn crash in his heat race, injuring his leg. Despite the pain, Hill tried to ride in the LCQ, but was unable to finish. It was determined this week that Hill has a broken tibia and will be out of action for 4-6 weeks.

Bel-Ray's newest addition, Team Rockstar Energy Racing Suzuki will also compete this weekend in Arizona. Team rider Martin Davalos comes to Phoenix looking for redemption after his Anaheim DNF. Davalos won his heat race and was charging through the field toward a top finish when his bike failed. Teammate, Jason Anderson, came from the back of the pack and picked off riders, one by one, for an eventual 7^th place finish.

Unadilla to Host 2012 Vintage Motocross Event

Unadilla MX, one of the oldest and historically significant Motocross racetracks in the world, is pleased to announce a new event for the 2012 season taking place on June 1-3. Called "MX Rewind", the three day festival will focus on vintage machines and will serve as a platform to celebrate over forty years of racing history at Unadilla.

With three full days of entertainment scheduled, this event is being designed to appeal to both racers and the fans of racing alike. Those who attend this event as a fan can expect to watch AHRMA vintage racing (both on the pro track and through the woods), browse a massive vintage swap meet, see a huge display of vintage show motorcycles, camp out on the scenic Unadilla hillsides, all while rubbing elbows and bench racing with some of the most popular legends of the past. There will be much more added to the entertainment list in the coming weeks.

For those looking to test their metal, the AHRMA sanctioned vintage motocross races will take place on the famed Unadilla national track, which is generally off limits to anyone who is not a pro rider. Additional promoter vintage classes will be added, as well. Recognizing that the bikes of yesterday are not the bikes of today, the track will be reworked by a former MX National Champ into a vintage friendly track. There will also be several other forms of racing, some very unique, which will be added to the racing schedule in the coming weeks too.

The early list of celebrities that are scheduled to attend reads like a who's-who of Motocross: Brad Lackey, Gary Jones, Marty Smith, Ron Lechien, Jimmy Weinert, and Gunnar Lindstrom are amongst the early list of guests.

"This is a brand new event for us, one that we are crafting as a "lifestyle" type event, says Greg Robinson, part of the Robinson Family who are the owners of Unadilla. "It is designed to appeal to all fans of motorcycling, whether it is dirt or street. Our natural focus will have an emphasis on the off road portion, but we want to make it clear that everyone who is a fan of motorcycles is invited to come out and enjoy the weekend. Robinson also added, "While racing is an integral part of our dna, and it will be large part of this event, there will also be much more to experience from a pure entertainment standpoint. Lake Elsinore Named Final Motocross National of 2012

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (January 11, 2012) – MX Sports Pro Racing and Alli Sports announce that the brand new Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park will become the new home of Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing, in Southern California. On the heels of announcing the 2012 series schedule and advance ticket sales for next summer, both parties are pleased to welcome the completely renovated Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park as the host site of the season finale, set to take place on Saturday, September 8, 2012.
Located in the hotbed of the motocross industry, and about an hour outside of the major metropolitan areas of Los Angeles and San Diego, Lake Elsinore serves as an ideal location for fans of the sport across the entire southern portion of the state. It’s also well-known to students of the sport’s history as the site of the Lake Elsinore Grand Prix, which was featured prominently in the epic motorcycle racing documentary film On Any Sunday back in 1971 – one year before the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship was born.
“A successful search has landed the Pro Motocross finale at what we feel is the ideal location for a national event in Southern California,” said MX Sports President Davey Coombs. “This is a brand new facility that was built from the ground up to host such an event, and offers riders one of the best layouts of any track in the country. We like to close out the summer where the sport of motocross thrives, and we believe we’ve found the perfect place in Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park.”
The Marc Peters-designed venue is state-of-the-art in terms of motocross and features multiple elevation changes, spectacular obstacles, and easy access for the fans. The facility was designed with not only riders but spectators in mind as well, with paved roads and walkways, lush landscaping, camping amenities and designated areas at multiple elevations for viewing.
“Sight lines might be one of the most underrated values of what makes or breaks any motocross track for the fans,” said Peters, himself a former pro racer and the son of recent Motorcycle Hall of Fame inductee Stu Peters. “We built this so there isn’t a bad spot to watch from, no matter where you choose to stand. It was our dream to host a national and in an effort to do so, we took away from all the various experiences at the many tracks that have been a part of American Motocross in the past to make what we hope to be the ideal motocross facility, for both riders and spectators.”
The original Lake Elsinore track was a local hotspot for many years, but over time, newer venues throughout the region garnered the attention of enthusiasts and pros, ultimately forcing it to shut its doors two years ago. After months of sculpting and fine-tuning, the new Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park opened its doors to the public the first weekend in December. While the facility is ready for business (and has been getting rave reviews for the complete makeover) there is still plenty of work to be done, including the completion of a full Lucas Oil four-wheel off-road short course stadium on the property and the finishing touches of what will be the site of the final round of the 2012 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship.
In addition to hosting the best riders on the planet this September, Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park will also be the final stop of the Women’s Motocross Championship. The eight-race season will feature the fastest women riders in the world, including multi-time champions Ashley Fiolek and Jessica Patterson, bringing a fitting conclusion to what is sure to be a memorable final weekend for Pro Motocross and the inaugural national event at Southern California’s newest facility.

AURORA, Ill (January 10, 2012) – With the Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, now underway, Feld Motor Sports^® announced today that Motorcycle Mechanics Institute (MMI) has returned to serve as the official technical institute of Monster Energy Supercross for the next two years.

As part of MMI’s involvement with Monster Energy Supercross, they will once again reward the top-performing mechanic at the conclusion of each supercross race with the MMI Top Tech award of $500. Top Tech award recipients, who against all odds, helped their rider qualify for the main event will be showcased at the closing of the night’s racing action. After numerous hours of preparation, the Dodge Motorsports/Hart & Huntington/Sycuan Casino/Bel-Ray Racing made its 2012 debut with double the team, double the pit space and loads of excitement!

“There was a lot of excitement in our camp this weekend with our expansion to 4 riders! The guys had a lot of ups and downs over the course of the night, but everyone came away in one piece. We are looking forward to building on each week and gaining momentum through the season. We had a lot of great race coverage thanks to SPEED Channel’s live broadcast.” – Carey Hart, Team Owner
It was a busy night of racing for the entire team. Josh Hansen and Ivan Tedesco qualified for the Main event, finishing 10th and 13th respectively. Making his long awaited comeback to SX, Josh Hill fell hard in Qualifying after colliding with another rider. Hill lined up for the Last Chance Qualifier, but was in too much pain to continue; Hill was forced to retire for the evening and hopes to be ready to race Saturday night in Phoenix. Kyle Partridge, also riding in the LCQ, had a terrific start and took the lead for a few laps before falling in a corner, preventing him from qualifying for the Main event.

Ivan Tedesco, #9: “A solid effort by the Dodge, Sycuan Casino, Hart and Huntington, Bel-Ray Racing Kawasaki team. The weekend went decent. I wasn’t a fan of the track the whole day. I got a good start in both the Heat and the Main event and that made life way easier. In the Main I had a good race going. I was running up front after a second-place start. We ran up front for a while. I held fifth for a long time and had a big crash on lap 17 and that was it. I ended up 13th. I showed myself that I can run up front and looking forward to next weekend.”
Josh Hansen, #100: “We came out with a top 10. We started out the race dead last; there wasn’t one dude behind me. It could of helped to start up front, but I’m lucky to have a great crew working for me. I got my Dodge/Sycuan Casino/Hart and Huntington/Bel-Ray Racing Kawasaki working well. We made some adjustments after practice and that helped. To run top 10 to start off the season is cool. It’s a solid start to the season. I’m pumped and ready to go to Phoenix next weekend.”
Josh Hill, #75: “It was good to be back racing and it was great to be there to practice and to have that feeling of racing again. Unfortunately our night went sour 100 yards off the start in a first turn crash. I’m looking forward to getting back into the speed of things and to consistently get better each weekend.”
Kyle Partridge, #83: “After a solid 2nd place start in the LCQ, I was close to claiming the final transfer spot into the main but a tangle coming out of a corner with a tough-block eliminated me from that final transfer spot into the Main. I’m looking forward to a better showing next race.”

That’s right – cash! Not just discounts, coupons or free product. Cash payouts are available to first through third-place finishers in most classes!
Payouts range from $25 all the way up to $500 for the pro class in certain series. MTF Camp for Military Families

Millsaps Training Facility announces the date of the 4th annual “Free Motocross Camp for Military Families” will be April 25-27, 2012.
Offered to active duty or retired military personnel (and immediate family) the camp is a way to say thanks to the military for their service.
Run just like a regular camp riders will learn how to ride faster and safer with instruction in cornering, starts, jumps and rollers and whoops.
Registration is now open (max 2 per family) for those who have not previously attended. If spaces remain anyone may register beginning February 1st.
