Kedah Merdeka Drag Racing 2025 Roars into Bukit Kayu Hitam with Three Days of High-Octane Action

Bukit Kayu Hitam, Kedah – 2 September 2025 – The Kedah Merdeka Drag Racing 2025, organized by MUSC Motorsports, brought roaring engines, blazing speed, and patriotic pride to BKH Phase 3, Bukit Kayu Hitam from 29 to 31 August 2025.

Held in conjunction with Malaysia’s Merdeka celebrations, the three-day event drew motorsport enthusiasts, professional racers, and grassroots competitors from across the region. Running daily from 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM, the event transformed Bukit Kayu Hitam—just steps from the Malaysia-Thailand border—into a festival of speed and community spirit.

A True Test of Speed & Precision

The event adopted a “Test N Tune” format (Siri 1), giving racers the chance to fine-tune their machines and push limits on the drag strip. The program was divided into two main categories:

Motorcycles (29–30 August) – Riders from across Malaysia showcased blistering speed and mechanical mastery.
Cars (31 August) – Merdeka Day was capped off with roaring engines and thrilling car drag races that had spectators on the edge of their seats.

With every run, competitors tuned, tweaked, and tested their performance, proving drag racing to be as much about strategy and engineering as it is about speed.

Celebrating Merdeka in Style

Beyond racing, the event carried deeper significance. The 31 August finale served as a symbolic tribute to Malaysia’s independence, uniting speed and patriotism in one electrifying celebration. Spectators waved flags, cheered from the sidelines, and joined in the spirit of Merdeka—making it a motorsport weekend to remember.

From the moment I entered the expo, it was clear that this wasn’t just about food — it was about ambition. The hall was packed with local SMEs, international players, halal-certified beauty brands, logistics firms, and even tech startups, all showcasing Thailand’s readiness to lead in the global halal market.

What impressed me most was how seamlessly halal was being integrated into everything — not just for Muslims, but as a standard of quality and trust.

The Bangkok Halal Forum took that conversation further. Speakers from the Central Islamic Council of Thailand, regional halal bodies, and global experts shared the stage. They talked about halal as a lifestyle, a trade advantage, and a growing export sector — not just a certification.

In short? Thailand may be a minority-Muslim country, but it’s not playing small. Bangkok Halal 2025 proved that with the right strategy, even a 6% can lead the halal wave.

As I moved deeper into the venue, the Bangkok Halal Forum was just beginning. The session attracted a strong turnout, with key speakers from the Central Islamic Council of Thailand, Malaysia’s Halal Development Corporation, and other industry leaders sharing insights. One highlight was a panel discussing the global halal economy’s future—emphasizing digital traceability, ethical production, and cross-border halal trade.

Whisky & Drams Fest 2025: Penang’s Signature Whisky Experience Raises the Bar

Penang, July 2025 – Whisky & Drams Fest 2025 just wrapped up, proving that Penang is fast becoming known for more than just amazing food. It's now a cool spot for lifestyle and spirits culture, too! This year's festival, organized by My Whisky Craft & Foodicious, brought together rare whiskies, tasty snacks, and smooth jazz in a chill, stylish setting. It was perfect for both whisky experts and anyone just curious to try something new.

Held at the SPICE Convention Centre in Penang, the place was buzzing with energy from the moment Gary Gideon & Friends started playing. Live music set the mood as hundreds of guests checked out booths featuring over 30 whiskies from Japan, Scotland, Taiwan, and even Malaysia. Many of these whiskies were shown to the public for the very first first time in the country!

New Stars: Kaichi, Sorachi, and Dré Coklat's Tuak

This year, some big hits included the Malaysian debut of Kaichi and Sorachi whiskies. These were previously only available on All Nippon Airways (ANA) flights! JFC Malaysia brought them in, and many were surprised by how smooth and easy to drink they were—they quickly became crowd favourites.

Just as interesting was Tuak by Dré Coklat, one of the non-whisky drink at the festival. Dré Coklat is usually known for premium local chocolates, but he introduced his handcrafted rice wine, which was rich, fragrant, and deeply rooted in Sarawak tradition. It offered a refreshing local twist and everyone loved its unique taste.

"We didn't want just another whisky tasting—we wanted people to discover new things. From rare Japanese labels to homegrown Tuak, this event was all about opening minds and palates," said by the organizer of Whisky & Drams Fest 2025.

Taste the World, One Sip at a Time

The festival had a great mix of popular names and hidden gems:

Togouchi & Kurayoshi (Japan) – Smooth, gentle, great for beginners.
BenRiach & Glendronach (Scotland) – Bold, rich flavours, often with sherry notes.
Torabhaig & Stalla Dhu – Smoky (peated) options for those feeling adventurous.
Glen Scotia & GlenAllachie – Becoming very popular among collectors.

The evening also featured a sold-out special class led by Roxxanne Rock, a Whisky Ambassador for Aberfeldy. Guests tasted Aberfeldy 12 & 16, learned cool tasting tricks, and heard stories about how the whiskies were made. It was a relaxed, lounge-style session that was both informative and, yes, a lot of fun!

More Than Just Drinks – The Food Was a Hit Too!

Food vendors were on hand with specially picked menus to go perfectly with the whiskies:
