My weird dreams last night:

There were two guys in a covered swimming pool. I don't know them actually. And I can't remember their faces. But one, on the further end was slim, thin, then the other guy, who seems to know me, or i think in my dream he's my boyfriend, was a very fat guy.

He called me to jump on the pool. then I jumped then hugged the fat guy. i felt heavy. he pulled me underwater, then I passed out.

Second dream:

I suddenly realized I was in the middle of a very long stairs. I saw a dark ending. I wanted to go up stairs but it was so dark and I felt like I know how it felt to be in that dark end. I feel like I already went to that end but gave up. I was scared, so instead pursuing up stair to the dark, i run. but I notice I was running back and forth. ascending. descending. ascending. descending. until I found a woman holding a chips

When you hear even just the first few line of his last words, you can

determine that it is the famous Mi Ultimo Adios.

Anne De Leon, 57 years old, a retired travel agent, recalled that when sh

e was in 4^th year high school, they have to memorize the Mi Ultimo Adios before she can graduate.

“The study of

the literary compositions, novel and life of Rizal was really integrated in our curriculum from Grade six until College… I remember, we can’t graduate not unless we can memorize and recite fully the Mi Ultimo Adios” she recalled adding that because of the thorough study she can still remember fully the poem.

She said that during her time, the curriculum was an exhaustive stud

y about Rizal; from the time he grew up in Laguna until he was transferred in Manila to study in Letran and Ateneo Municipal or the now Ateneo de Manila in Katipunan Avenue, Quezon City unti

To recall our history, the Mi Ultino Adios of Rizal was originally written unsigned, untitled and undated poem of 14 five-line stanzas. It was during the afternoon, a day before his ex

ecution on December 29, 1896 when Rizal handed the small alcohol stove or cocinilla to his sister Trinidad and told her in English that there was something inside the stove.

In line with the Dia del Español or the Day of the Spanish language

celebration, the Instituto Cervantes in tribute to the birth of Rizal, today, June 19, hold the first and largest Spanish choral reading of Mi Ultimo Adios or Huling Paalam in Tagalog.

“This is our tribute to Jose Rizal. Many of the great works

in Philippine literature were written in the Spanish language during the Spanish period and the first half of the 20^th century. And Rizal’s Masterpieces are, definitely, no exception”, Rodriguez said.

“Jose Rizal perhaps one of the most influential Filipinos of all ti

me, but also to one of the most prolific writers in the Fil-Hispanic literature” he added.

To commemorate his writings, some 150 Spanish language enthus

iasts, Spanish Students, member of diplomatic course and the curious in general performed the first and largest Spanish choral reading of Rizal’s Mi Ultimo Adios in Spanish.

One of the readers who has participated the choral was Bayan Muna Partylist Representative Teddy Casiño.

“Kita sa tula ang kanyang puso, pagasa at pagmamahal sa bay

we utter in Spanish]. Kahit papaano malalasap mo kung papaano iniisip ni Rizal yung maganda basahin sa original na language” Casiño told the reporters at the sideline of the event.

Rodriguez said that since Rizal [former surname Mercado] came from a very rich clan, he was fluent with the Spanish language. And noticing his literatures we can see all of his novels were written in Spanish.

“We are paying tribute to the language of Rizal” he added, urging all Filipinos to learn to speak the Spanish language.

He said that learning the language, individual may understan

d fully how deep the formation of every words used in the

writings of Rizal.

Rodriguez said that Spanish is the second most spoken language in the world in terms of native speakers and the second largest language for international communication.

There were 450 million people speak Spanish worldwide; around 14 million students study Spanish as a foreign language.

In 2007, there were around 237,000 students travelled to Spain to learn Spanish.

Also base from the data collected in 2005, English, French, Spanish and German, are the most studied foreign languages.

Rodqiguez projected that by 2030, 7.5 percent of the world population or 535 million people will speak Spanish.

“This percentage is significantly higher than that for Russian with 2.2 percent; French with 1.4 percent and German, 1.2 percent. By that time only Chinese native speakers will outnumber Spanish native speakers in the world.

“We are all taking part in this international fiesta to promote an ongoing effort to raise awareness about the importance of Spanish and to establish a meeting point for all Spanish speakers,” Rodriguez said in parting words during his speech in El Dia Español or Day of Spanish language celebration.

Jose Rizal's Train-Affair

Did you know that Dr. Jose Rizal was reported to be a frequent train rider during his journey in the North to meet with his fellow patriots?

However, aside from his agenda with his fellow nationalists, the Philippine National Railways (PNR) general manager Junio Ragragio revealed Saturday that Rizal also visits his childhood sweetheart Leonor Rivera who was said to be the inspiration of the character Maria Clara in Noli Me Tangere.

“Our railroads were silent witnesses to the rich and colorful annals of Philippine history” Ragragio said.

Ragragio narrated that Rizal went to Malolos, Bulacan and Fernando, Pampanga and Tarlac using the train under the defunct Ferrocaril de Manila-Dagupan, the original name of Manila Railway Company Ltd. of London and to what is now the PNR.

“Rizal frequently rode the train to recruit member for his La Liga Filipina, a progressive organization he created based on reformist ideas” he said.

“He also made some stopovers over in Camiling, Tarlac to visit his childhood sweetheart Leonor Rivera who was said to be the inspiration for Maria Clara in Noli Me Tangere” Ragragio added.

PNR was the mode of transportation century ago which witnessed most of the country’s rich history.

During that time, trains was discovered because of the growing galleon trade activities with Mexico which paved the way for the Spanish government in 1875 to later came up an idea to introduce the railroad in the Philippines.

“Spain believed that it was the most efficient solution to utilize the untapped natural resources of the virgin island of Luzon” he added.

Ragragio cited further the connection between the emerging railroad industries of the country during the Spanish periodand the love affair of Rizal.

“The romantic affair of Rizal with Leonor Rivera is indeed a classic story by itself” he said.

Rizal and Rivera both were in a relationship for eleven years. The two love birds have been writing with each other or after he met with his co-patriot, he will stopover in Camiling, Tarlac to secretly visit Rivera.

“But Rivera's mother was against this romantic liaison and seized the letters sent by Rizal. Leonor Rivera was later made to believe by her mother that Rizal no longer loved her and so with a heavy heart reluctantly married Henry Kipping, a British engineer who was associated with an engineer named Crisostomo Villamil, the supervising engineer of the Manila-Dagupan railroad line project at the time,” Ragragio further said.

Aside from his constant meeting with the members of the La Liga Filipina and his secret affairs with Rivera, our National Hero, Rizal, also mentioned from his writings his 120 km or five hours and 40 minutes train trip from Manila to Tarlac.

This journey, Ragragio said, was two weeks before his exile to Dapitan.

“These series of events, that almost looked like it was lifted from a movie scene, gave a foretaste of the railway's future from the historical and interesting life of Rizal to the present plans of PNR to restore its glorious past connecting people through an efficient mass land transportation system” he said.

Missing Dodi

In my place, there's Muning and Doding Daga...

Indifferent tandem. Can you believe that? How can a cat and a mouse get along well with each other? They supposed to be enemies [but right now, i guess they are lol] not frenemies [a term which means from enemies to friends]. Or a catch-me-if-you can antics.

However lightning strike, this two defied the norm and started a “special” partnership that anybody can’t imagine. However, like a lightning, it also ended so sudden…

According to Muning, meeting Dodi is the craziest thing that happened in her life and she will never regret any single dinner-out, movie-dates, and other misadventures they have shared for the past months.

“Meeting him was a bliss. Everything’s new and different” Muning confessed, recalling her memory with her drinking buddy.

She recalled that the special thing they have seems so wrong from other people but it felt so right for her. Her fellow cats called her crazy for falling head over heel in love with Dodi. But what can she do?

“I believe, you can’t choose love, love will find you no matter what. I might put it too cliché but once love strike, you have no choice but to follow what’s your heart is saying – I don’t believe in that ‘overrated-cliché’ saying before. But then, this is what happened, so… so be it” Muning said.

Odd-weird-heart-pounding- mindblowing-kind of thing – that how she described it.

Muning is the gullible, naïve but very witty cat while Doding Daga is the feisty yet serious mouse.

She said, she tends to forget the painful goodbyes and frustration after the separation, “I will only keep the happy thoughts, the happy memories, laughter and even petty fights … At least I’ve learned a lot about myself and a deep appreciation and understanding about love among all ages”.

“I won’t forget but I will be okay soon…” Muning sighed.

A fiction story

Dark, smoky room. I was sitting in a chair facing him across a round table. The lamp hanging on the ceiling is the only light in this gloomy room. The air was filled with smoke which made my eyes become fuzzy and teary. It was a one–on-one card game…

As I was holding my cards, I stared steadily on the player, examining what’s on his mind and which card he will reveal to intimidate me.

He looked at me, smirking. Is he just bluffing? I asked myself. I did not blink and kept staring at him steadily. He looked so relaxed while holding his cards.

Then the dealer showed the first three decks of cards. My hands started to sweat, my heart beat faster for I know I’m going to lose this game. Sara, just bluff, just bluff, pretend that you’re okay… pretend that you have a say on this fight. I reached for my cigarette and puffed it hardly until the smoke reached my entire lungs, inhaling the smoke and its nicotine as if I were living my last day.

“Am I going to risk it all?” I asked myself silently as I displayed a poker face.

“You know what, Sara? I really want you to win this game… but I’m too selfish. I want to win,” he said with a look of mockery in his eyes.

I puffed my cigarette and threw its butt on the ashtray then I looked at him again, trying to act cool. I know myself. For the moment I sat on this chair, the moment we begin this game, I decided to accept what will happen and enjoy the ride and eventually risk all my cards. I am sure as hell that I want this game, win or lose.

However, fear crept unto me when I saw that he is just playing around. He is just not ready to risk all of his cards… oh yeah, he’s playing it safe, I said while studying his moves.

“If I bet it all, will you bet it all?” I asked him for the last time. His face turned red and became more serious. I was shaking, for I know his answer.

Then the dealer revealed another card that will complete the four decks of cards. I closed my left fists upon seeing the decks and accepted that I’m going to lose this game.

I bet all of my chips. Nothing left. What the hell. He did the same thing as I did for he had no choice.

Then slowly we both showed our cards. As what I have expected, I lost the game…

I am about to cry, but I don’t want to show my weakest spot, as soon as he got his chips, I stood up and headed towards the exit door. I guess there’s no need for me to stay. I guess I gave my best shot…

Even though I left the room with a heavy heart, I know someday, somehow, somewhere over a beautiful rainbow, I will soon win the game.

Pitiful for the both of us for neither of us won. For in reality, we are both losers on this game called love…

What is the source of what couples fight about? Why are some couples fighting all the time and seem to always be fighting in their relationship? What is the source of their verbal disagreements in marriage and relationship fights? Is it just a difference of opinion, an unwillingness to compromise, does it stem from a previous hurt, do their quarrels reflect stubborn, bullheaded, obstinate attitudes, or do the fights stem from arrogant pride or stubborn selfishness?
The answer is that relationship fights in marriage come in many forms and there could be a multitude of factors that fuel the couples fights and arguments. Have you ever lied? If you answered no to that question, you probably have an issue with pride and honesty. Many couples have difficulties because they never take the time to do any self introspection, it’s always the other guys fault. In your marriage, have you ever had a fight with your husband or wife because you selfishly wanted something? Where you were totally focusing on what you wanted, fighting to obtain your own desire?
The couples who fight about things in an argument are trying to reach a particular outcome. The question is; what is the source of the desire within them that is causing their marital arguments and relationship fights? The next time you are in an argument, stop and ask yourself; what am I fighting for? What am I trying to get out of this disagreement? Then ask yourself, am I being honest and upfront, or am I being dishonest with my wife or husband? (Boyfriend or Girlfriend). We first need to be honest with ourselves before we can be honest in our relationships with others. So then, get rid of lies. Speak the truth to each other, because we are all members of the same body. Ephesians 4:25
A liar provokes an argument, and pride and selfishness take fighting to the limits. Think about that, sometimes we just do not want to accept the truth, so we remain dishonest even to ourselves. We want to remain in the bubble that says we don’t have any flaws and never make mistakes. That’s called denial, people are dishonest because they do not want to take ownership of their blemishes, (pride), they are seeking a selfish outcome, and/or they do not want to be held accountable for their own behaviors, (irresponsibility). There is another element to this, deep down a person knows that if they accept their flaws and they admit their mistakes, that there is something inside of them that needs to change. A persons pride can make it quite hard for them to go take a really good look in the mirror, and that is a big reason for the arguments and fighting between many couples in marriage relationships. Rebellion is as sinful as witchcraft, and stubbornness as bad as worshiping idols. 1 Samuel 15:23
As humans we all struggle with pride and selfishness, we all have been hurt by others, and so we need to be more observant of our own natures. With that being true, we also need to make allowances in our relationships, and marriages, for our spouses or partners. There comes a point during an argument that you will realize that, even though you know the truth, and your wife or husband knows the truth, that they are not going to admit it. There is a time to let things go, to quit being so hard on your spouse, and to stop fighting with them. Love overlooks issues and allows room for growth. People won’t change until they accept and realize that it’s their own limitations that are holding them down. You can not force your partner to change, you can make your points without instigating a relationship fight, and you can do it in an calm mature manner. When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom. Proverbs 11:2
In marriage relationships two people can have difference of opinions and disagree without fighting. Just because two people dispute something does not always mean that either of them are right or that either of them are wrong. In fact, it is entirely possible that a disagreement forms out of two peoples misconceptions. Often times people are trying to win an argument just for the sake of winning, one may win a fight, but in the end, the relationship loses. Arguments are a choice, instead of fighting you have an opportunity to love, and an opportunity to learn how to compromise. Starting a quarrel is [like] opening a floodgate, so stop before the argument gets out of control. Proverbs 17:14
Many couples have arguments and relationship fights over money. Many end up in divorce because of it. At the beginning of your marriage you each say those three words, "I love you", and then you turn on a dime for the money honey! Money can control you and your relationship if you allow it too. Do not allow your emotions to rule you, and begin to ask yourself these questions; What is the fight really about? Are you fighting to obtain a selfish desire? Are you fighting to avoid the pain deep within you? Are you fighting to cover up a wrong you have committed? Do you have to be right in the relationship disagreement? Can you resolve the argument with compromise? Is the relationship fight more about you than your partner? What is this fight doing for my marriage relationship? Are you fighting to hold onto something so you don’t have to change your character?

They say there are some things you can't describe, some situations you cannot explain how or when did it happen.

If it is love, will a person be able to describe what he or she feels towards someone? Is it sometimes possible that what you feel is indescribable?

There was this friend of mine who got married with his one-year-girlfriend. I remember the time when he and his girl decided to get married, there are many people reacted with the sudden decision of tying the knot with the girl. Some said that they are rushing things. Others said that she got pregnant that's why they need to get married.

Then I asked him, "why are you getting married? I mean you only knew him for one year or so?"

"I don't know. But once you feel that she's the one, you will know", he said.

Then I asked him again "Why do you love her?"

He kept quiet and just look at me and said "I don't know, I can't describe... love for me is something you can't explain nor describe --- you just feel it".

Does this mean he really is feeling something deep over the girl? Why am I asking this? because someone again answered me the same answer. It was coming from a very special person, someone i love so dear. I asked him of what he feels for me, and then he answered

THE SMILE THAT WAS… it feels sad to know that because of misunderstandings, pride, ego, hate and ungratefulness destroys the bond of a family… I hope other people realized that tolerating and concealing the wrong doing of a certain person will not fix the problem, instead they will make it worst. And who will be affected of the sad result? It’s not you guys – but US..

The role of a family is not only through helping one member to stand from a fall, but also making them understand and realize that in a certain issue, he also made a mistake and he should find some remorse to be humble enough to accept his fault.

Please learn how to face it. You chose to be in that situation so face the consequences.

For the coward ones – stop concealing, stop tolerating.

For the small minded ones – stop expecting, stop bickering, whining and all that shit… start having a heart of understanding and forgiveness, and a wider views on things.

For the egoistic – stop talking and do the act. Stop being a burden. And be grateful because despite your shortcomings, the people close to you are always there to help you out and give you life from a drought.

For the strong ones – try to mellow down so the cowards will not be afraid to speak from their minds and so the egoistic would have a clearer view and find a way to say sorry for his fault. Kung si President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III ay may first 100 days na gagawin sa kanyang pagupo bilang Pangulo ng ating bansa, aba naman! hindi ako papatalo, echusera ako eh, meron din akong first 100 days sa simula ng pag-pasok ng bagong taon ko.

Yes. I consider my birthday as my new year -- not January 1. LOL.

Wala lang, naisip ko lang na maikli lang ang buhay, kaya kailangan kong gawin mga bagay na magpapasaya sa akin o kaya mga bagay na gusto kong gawin sa unang pagkakataon.

The Cinemalaya, the event which promotes independent film, has started last Friday. It has eleven entries, nine full length independent films and two short stories. I missed the opening yesterday, it totally slipped from my mind -- maybe because I was too excited to see my guy that time, which turned into another disappointment.

So far, I only seen one film, the Donor, and i have 10 more to go before it ends next week.

Medyo hindi ko feel yung movie, dahil una, yung title na donor hindi nirepresent yung movie as a whole, the movie is not about donating or whatever, although nag-donate siya ng kidney, pero hindi umiikot yung story sa pag-dodonate. something like that.

Okay yung mga artista, may mga scene na nakakatawa, may script na funny, at may dull moments din - pero pamatay ang ending. doon bumawi ang direktor. nakakapang-hina ng laman.

The way i see it, parang yung story is like a struggle ng bawat mahihirap sa Pilipinas na tipong sumusugal ka to the point na pumapasok ka sa mga illegal na bagay maka survive lang. The typical set-up na, babae - nagsisipag magtrabaho bilang pirated DVD vendors, may ka-leave-in na walang trabaho, ginagamit ang pera ng babae para sa pang-inom, malibog, tamad, sunog-baga, walang pangarap kung hindi tumunganga. Then nagka-struggle - na-raid yung store, then nag balak mag abroad, malaki placement fee, kaya nag donate ng kidney.. mga ganon lang.. linear yung story line, kaya medyo petiks.

Oh well, excited na ako bukas, to watch other films, since ayaw ni boyfriend ng mga indie-films (hay) i'm gonna watch it with my friends.

Feeling ko din, parang indie-film ang buhay ko -- kakaiba, nakakaloka, minsan masaya minsan malabo, minsan single, minsan double, minsan iiyak tapos naman tatawa. ewan ko, i feel confuse over something lately, but i don't want to dwell on it and make some fuss about it, chaka pagod na din ako magisip, hinahayaan ko na lang yung panahon sumagot para sa akin. Go with the flow na lang at mag enjoy. GAAAAA.

WEIRD COUPLE? --> That's us.

I know we are and I'm proud about it. Pero syempre hindi mo minsan maiiwasan yung reaction ng ibang tao.

A friend told me that what my guy and I have right now is beyond the norm of an ideal relationship or a typical one - the getting to know stage, the courtship stage, then the officially couple stage, sexy time and endless outpour of love and all that shit.

Ang sa akin lang, do we have to follow the norm? What if naging kayo because you simply like each other and you want to be with each other? Kahit walang ligawan. What if we are just creating our own love story in such a way na alam namin na tama, sakto, less drama, less cheesiness, less complication. At hindi kami sumusunod sa typical love story na nagligawan, na inlove, naging sila, lagi magkasama, na tipong parang telenovela sa telebisyon.

Kami ang nasa relationship, kaya kami din magpapatakbo neto, in such a way na alam namin tama at masaya. I don't know why other people were surprised because we don't say I love you's to each other. In my opinion, I don't think it's appropriate or normal na on the first three months in your relationship, you two are saying I love you na. Kasi love is not a one shot deal e, love is earned through time so I guess it's too premature for us to say I love you. Am i right??

But don't get me wrong, I like him very much, he's like a cherry on my ice cream, a sprinkle for my doughnut, a chocolate syrup for my waffles and we are taking things slowly. Kasi sa akin, mas okay yung magstart kami na relax lang then through time it will grow, the feelings will grow, kesa naman sa una sobrang love niyo isa't-isa - na para kayo si Romeo and Juliet na halos kayo lang ang tao sa mundong ibabaw na hindi kayo mabubuhay without your partner - tapos after noon, nagdedecline na yung feelings at mauuwi lang sa masaklap na Kris-James hiwalayan (all time fave talaga ang kris-james hiwalayan! woot!).

A friend also told me I'm not daw sweet, I guess I'm not but I know myself, I know I'm sweet in my own little way.

Sweet na hindi hopeless romantic, sweet na hindi PDA na mushy na nakakasuka. Oh well, I tried to be open, so I asked my friend, so kung hindi ako sweet ano gagawin ko, that friend said:

1) Kiss him on the neck

reaction: what??? out of the blue? kiss sa neck?? hell no!

2) Kiss him then suddenly whisper "i love you" to his ear

reaction: oh-uh, that is sooooo not me, too hopeless romantic, eck! hindi ko kaya!!

3) Or utter the words like "thank you for coming into my life, for making me happy" bla bla bla

Gosh, I don't know, but I found those things overrated. Para bang sa isang brand na it's too commercialized. And I don't find it sweet, i guess it's boring.

Pero syempre, siguro magagawa ko yan pag one year na kami, pero like right now we are on our 3rd month, and trying to beat the three months milestone, i guess, again, and i'm saying it, it's too premature for us to do those stuffs. Tell me I'm wrong people but it's not really my thing. and I know it's not his thing too. We are just being practical, so why follow the norm, or follow what those romantic movies are telling us - seriously, those shits are polluting our mind.

Dumating na ako sa point na ayoko na umintindi, yung tipong pagod na pagod ka na, na feeling mo isa kang kandila na unti-unting nauubos, tapos namamatay na siya, pero pinipilit mong sindihan ito. Gumagawa ka ng way para kahit ubos na yung kandila naroon pa din yung apoy. Kahit halos ubusin mo na ang lighter, o ang palito ng posposro o kahit ikiskis mo ang mga bato, mag apoy lang ang kandila, gagawin mo.

Pero alam mo sa sarili mo, paubos na ang kandila, kahit gamitin mo pa ang wax na nakapalibot sa katawan ni F. Marcos wala pa din mangyayari, mauubos at mauubos siya.
