I found this from someone’s profile on a famous social networking site, I am not sure who is the author and I don't bother to search for who is he. I just love the content and some points to ponder that is worth sharing to anybody else. It was entitled: Some Thoughts On New Year! But for me I would rather make the title: Some Thoughts to Ponder About Life Today.

SOME THOUGHTS ON NEW YEAR!

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider freeways, but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom. We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.

We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbour. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things.

We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less.

These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete.

Remember, spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever. Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side. Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent.

Remember, to say, "I love you" to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you. Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again. Give time to love, give time to speak, and give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind.

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

Archbishop Oscar V. Cruz for Senator?

LOL! That’s the biggest laughing matter I heard this week and probably the biggest loser. Seriously? Well it is not for real, because it is just an Archbishop Oscar V. Cruz for Senator Movement Facebook page. Cruz said that he has no knowledge about the page or even the people behind it. The page has pictures of Cruz and his books, as well as a link to his blog. (http://ovc.blogspot.com).

He laughed while saying "Sana barangay tanod pero pati siguro nanay ko hindi ako iboboto."
Cruz said all priests are barred from running for public office.
"Bawal ang cleric to join an office that exercises power. That's Church law. Take the case of Ed Panlilio. He is neither in or out. Of course, he is still a priest but he cannot celebrate mass, cannot perform his priestly functions. He is on leave permanently. Masyado naman buenas yung ganun if he left his priestly functions to run for public office and then went back to the priesthood after his stint in politics," he said.

I am not so sure who are behind this but what I am sure of is that… WTF is happening to the people behind this page wanting a person like Arch. Oscar Cruz to run for office in the Senatorial seat. Even if he is not yet running for an office he is already considered a nuisance, how much more when he will file for candidacy at the COMELEC.

I am sorry but I don’t trust priests running for office in the government and even priests who keep on throwing stones to the government everytime they site issues that are not favourable to the church. I am so confused; I thought there’s a separate distance in the relationship between organized religion and the nation state or government but how come churches leaders specially in the Catholic religion keeps on pestering the government with their ruling etc.

There are numbers of people made comments on the issue of the Facebook page movement for Oscar Cruz to run for Seantor.

Carlos Celdran made a comment on the issue of the Facebook page movement for Oscar Cruz to run for Seantor and said: "For realz? This isn't a parody is it? This man is a joke."

Transgender Association offered free sex changes in Thailand

A Project to 'free' women trapped in men's bodies

A transgender association is offering a free sex change for cash-strapped transgender people to fulfil their dream of becoming a woman. More than 100 transgender people have applied for free sex-change surgery under the Sister's Hand project initiated by the TransFemale Association of Thailand. But only five will be chosen to undergo operations.

The project, which is sponsored by the Preecha Aesthetic Institute, Yanhee Hospital and Discovery Channel, is in its second year.Yollada Krirkkong, the association's president, said the association was founded five years ago to campaign to improve the life quality of transgender people in "every possible aspect".

Sister's Hand was launched last year and is the first project initiated by a private sector to provide free sex-change surgery, said Ms Yollada, who has herself undergone a sex change operation. The project is aimed at freeing transgender people from feelings of "being imprisoned in a male's physical identity", she said.

With sponsorship from several private companies, the project provides assistance to transgender people who do not have enough money for sex-change surgery, which costs more than 100,000 baht.She said applicants had to pass the assessment criteria by psychiatrists and doctors on endocrine systems to qualify and they were also required to spend at least one year living as a woman to qualify for sex-change surgery.

Ms Yollada admitted the project still had not received funding on a permanent basis. "But the project must go ahead and we will do all we can to help [transgender people]," Ms Yollada said.She also called on the government to lend support to the project.

The Jim Collins Foundation is also been doing this kind of work in the United States.

Deceit of Harpo Studios and Oprah Winfrey According to George Ricketts of Casablanca, Morocco

I received this email from George Ricketts of Casablanca, Morocco with an email address gpricketts@yahoo.co.uk. I don't know him and its the first time he emailed me. He said he just want to spread this to have a release of the bad feeling he has with this matter.

Here's the message he sent to me with the Subject: Deceit of Harpo Studios and Oprah Winfrey...

Deceit of Harpo Studios and Oprah Winfrey
In spring 2004, I sent a draft copy of my manuscript for the novel ‘Tarik – A Bridge for Imlil’ (the original working title) to one or two influential people, including Oprah Winfrey. The novel is set in a small mountain village in Morocco.
It was explained in the covering letter that I had written the project in the hope the recipients would like the project and, perhaps, assist in finding a suitable publisher.
The letter also spelt out the reason for writing the work.
At the time, I was deeply involved in charitable work, helping poor children in the mountain regions of Morocco. Many were unable to attend school due to a lack of funds to buy the necessary books etc. I provided them with free school materials and an assortment of much needed clothing.
My plan, if the book was successful, was to use the royalties to expand my charitable work. Subsequently, there was no direct response from either Harpo Productions or Oprah Winfrey.
Early autumn 2004, I sat down to watch the first program of the new season of the ‘Oprah Winfrey Show’ on MBC 4, an Arabic channel transmitted by satellite.
I followed the proceedings with great interest. After all, it is not every day that every member of the studio audience receives a brand new car.
There was also a piece done on a ‘local hero’, where a very generous elderly lady was given assistance to continue looking after a number of socially disadvantaged children. I recall she was about to be evicted from her home because she was behind with the rent. Also, her neighbours and a band of musicians were assembled in the street to give her a grand reception.
However, it was not until a young homeless girl was awarded with a free scholarship, and as announced by Oprah Winfrey, ‘to any university of your choice’ that the penny dropped. These were the exact words spoken by a male character in my manuscript when presenting a free scholarship to a young boy.
At that precise moment, I saw the connection between the events of the show and my manuscript.
In my manuscript, several people lost their homes when a devastating flood inundated the village. Subsequently, a kind and appreciative benefactor promised new homes for all affected at no cost to themselves. I concluded the cars given freely to the Oprah Winfrey audience were a substitute for the new homes.
The manuscript also included a ‘local hero’. When he returned to his village, after confronting a corrupt local official, whom the villagers feared, he was given a rapturous reception in the street. In the crowd was a band of musicians.
Low and behold, the piece on Harpo Productions’ ‘local hero’ also included a band, playing on the street.
I was even more convinced my ideas had been stolen when Oprah Winfrey closed the show by saying that the next show would include the preparation and making of couscous, a traditional Moroccan dish. Again, couscous got more than one mention in my manuscript.
Furthermore, I had addressed the manuscript to the ‘Harpo Dream Factory’: I wanted to make sure it would get undivided attention - which it certainly did.
However, to my astonishment, Harpo Productions also made use of this and created the concept ‘Ever had a dream come true’, or something along these lines. This entailed a bus or truck going out and about nationwide to fulfil the dreams of certain people.
This whole episode of events left me so disturbed and deeply affected that I could no longer continue to be creative and finish another writing project I was working on. It is only now all these years later that feel emotionally strong enough to return to my passion, which is creative writing.
To this day, I find it greatly incomprehensible how one of the world’s richest women, and one who claims to care so passionately about the underdog, could abuse something that was created with the intention of helping socially marginalized and deprived children.
She certainly increased her wealth and fame following this particular show, which was shown around the world.
As for me, I was no longer able to be creative or continue my charitable work due to the shock and confusion caused by such unimaginable greed and utter selfishness.

I am not sure about this. But if this is true, why would Harpo or Oprah Deceit someone with that matter? True or not it's for you to judge.

I don't know about the authenticity of the information on this email. I just posted this because I want to know the truth and I want some reactions regarding this, so that somehow the people will have some basis on whose leader they are going to elect on this coming May 2010 Presidential Election.

History of Present Illness: The patient is a 36-year old single male with a history of profuse salivation and labile moods since his childhood. He was observed to be sleeping excessively, disoriented and confusing family and household member's name. When interviewed at the time of psychiatric assessment, the patient said he had difficulty in speech, poor concentration, impaired thinking and melancholia brought about by the stresses of his work and the break-up with his flight attendant girlfriend. He also claimed he felt clumsy and uncoordinated. He also describes what appeared to be a deep sense of foreboding and feeling that the "world was coming to an end."

Current Symptoms:

Psychomotor retardation

Slowed gait and activity

Lack of initiative

Melancholia

Fatigue Lack of self-confidence

Lack of sexual interest

Substance Abuse History:
Smoker = Yes, up to two (2) packs a day
Drugs = Yes, teen-age experimentation with Marijuana and various pills

MMSE

The Psychologist conducting the interviews noticed that the patient would occasionally walk slowly and aimlessly around the room when being interviewed. He appeared inattentive, vague, non-spontaneous and detached in interactions, but passively followed simple commands. He appeared disoriented. There was some difficulty in communicating due to his deep depression and melancholia. On mental state examination, he was a lanky man of medium height who was mildly psychomotor retarded with a latency of verbal replies, and a slowness of movement. He was preoccupied with his inner thoughts, brooded and felt melancholy. He appeared quite elevated and irritable when he spoke of the loss he was feeling when he recounted his relationship with his girlfriend. He expressed a poorly-formed grandiose delusion that the world was ending and described feelings of foreboding but no disturbance in any other sensory modality. The patient was oriented in person and place, with only very mild impairment of time. Attention and concentration deficits were evident, though much in the slightest and confirmed on formal testing that he had minor difficulty in counting down by seven from 100 and could not readily spell some words backwards. Registration and short term memory were intact on testing but he was often distracted and distant. There was evidence of dysphagia, mild difficulty with three-step commands, concretism and trial-constructional dyspraxia (he could not copy complex diagrams). No confabulation or remote memory deficits were identified. His Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) score totaled 28/30. No cognitive impairments. He denied being in need of medical assistance and explained his presence in the school as being due to his sister's concerns, but did not appear suspicious of possible motives or irritated by his presence in the department. He denied that he had any cognitive deficits. He said he required medication and dietary modification, but did not accept medication offered in fact requiring detailed explanation on why the medication had to be taken.

In as much as the patient exhibits the following symptoms (1) Depressed mood (i.e. feeling sad and empty) most of the day for 10 days, (2) Markedly diminished interest on pleasure in almost all activities (including lack of sexual interest) most of the day for 10 days, (3) A noticeable fluctuation of appetite most of the day for 10 days, (4) Psychomotor agitation or retardation (i.e. increased restlessness) most of the day for 10 days, (5) A diminished ability to concentrate ordering on indecisiveness most of the day for 10 days, (6) Insomia nearly everyday, (7) Fatigue nearly everyday , And (8) a feeling of foreboding everyday. He is diagnosed as suffering from Major Depressive Disorder.

Nicollette Sheridan is pressing charges against Marc Cherry Creator of Desperate Housewives

ABC and series creator Marc Cherry for $20 million because he allegedly hit her.

46-year-old actress Nicollette Sheridan, whose "Desperate Housewives" character was killed off in early 2009, is suing the show's creator for more than $20 million, alleging assault and battery, gender violence and wrongful termination, TMZ and others report.

Mark Baute from L.A. law firm Baute & Tidus tells JustJared.com in a statement:

“Mr. Cherry’s behavior towards Nicollette was and is nothing short of abusive and appalling. The lawsuit is not something Nicollette wanted to do, it’s something she felt compelled to do. Nicollette asked ABC for help and protection from Mr. Cherry’s abusive behavior, and ultimately, ABC was not willing or able to provide that protection. Sometimes the only way that a safe and normal work environment can be created is when a hard-working person like Nicollette stands up for herself and her rights, and in doing so help protect others who have had to work in a hostile environment. We expect the case to be hard fought, and it will not be a surprise if ABC and Mr. Cherry try to depict Nicollette to be something other than a team player and long-standing industry professional. She put her heart and soul into the role of the Edie character, a character that she truly enjoyed playing.”

“On September 24, 2008, during a rehearsal for the show, when Sheridan questioned Cherry about something that was in the script, Cherry took her aside and forcefully hit her with his hand across her face and head,” Nicollette says in her complaint via THR. “[I was] physically and emotionally injured, humiliated and stunned by Cherry’s sudden physical violence and stated, ‘you just hit me in the head, that is not okay. THAT IS NOT OKAY!’ ”

Nicollette continued, “After an incident where Sheridan’s co-star on the show Teri Hatcher went above Cherry’s head to speak to ABC executives, Cherry told Sheridan, ‘I hope Teri Hatcher gets hit by a car and dies.’ ”

She says she'd gone to ABC about the incident but that no action was taken.

“While we have yet to see the actual complaint, we investigated similar claims made by Ms. Sheridan last year and found them to be without merit," ABC Studios said Monday.

The suit paints a picture of Cherry as someone who'd turn hostile of his authority when questioned, EW.com reports -- and it also may shine a different light on quotes from Sheridan and Cherry that were highlighted on our Show Tracker blog in April 2009.

A Los Angeles Times interview with Sheridan around the time of her character's sudden and violent death fell through without explanation, according to writer Denise Martin. Edie Britt died in the Cherry-penned episode "Look Into Their Eyes and See What They Know."

Though the majority of birdstrikes cause little damage to a plane, they do result in a great number of bird fatalities and cause annual damages estimated at $400 million in the U.S. alone and $1.2 billion worldwide.

According to a confidential database managed by NASA, the years from 1990 to 2007 saw almost 80,000 reported incidents of birds striking nonmilitary aircraft, resulting in emergency landings, aborted takeoffs or close calls – and these are just the voluntarily reported incidents.

LALOMANU, Samoa – A Samoan reporter says tsunami victims "are everywhere" in a hospital near a hard-hit area and the dead could number up to 20. Associated Press reporter Keni Lesa said three or four villages on the popular tourist coast near the southern town of Lalomanu on Samoa's main island of Upolu had been "wiped out" by waves that roared ashore early Wednesday.

Lesa said he had visited the town's main hospital where "there are bodies everywhere," including at least one child.

The Samoan government has not yet confirmed fatalities. Officials in neighboring American Samoa say at least 14 people have been killed there.

A retired man went into the Job Center in Downtown Denver, and saw a card advertising for a Gynecologist's Assistant. Interested, he went in and asked the clerk for details.

The clerk pulled up the file and read; "The job entails getting the ladies ready for the gynecologist. You have to help the women out of their underwear, lay them down and carefully wash their private regions, then apply shaving foam and gently shave off the hair, then rub in soothing oils so they're ready for the gynecologist's examination."

Two secret lovers became the talk of the town in the southern Philippines Wednesday after they were found literally stuck to each other.

Doctors were at a loss on how to separate the two lovers, who had been stuck for more than 17 hours since Tuesday night, radio dzRH reported Wednesday afternoon.

The report quoted doctors at the Isulan town hospital in Sultan Kudarat province as saying the two lovers experienced penis captivus, a condition in which the muscles in the female organ clamp down on the male organ more firmly than usual, making it impossible for the man to withdraw his organ from the woman's.

Before experiencing the condition, the two lovers had a rendezvous at a local pension house in Isulan town Tuesday night.

The man, 32, was described as married and connected with the Department of Public Works and Highways. The woman, 20, was working at a local department store.

Initial investigation showed that the two experienced penis captivus at about 10 p.m., and decided to seek medical help at about 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, said the report.

Draped only in a blanket, the naked couple asked a tricycle driver outside the pension house to take them to a hospital.

At the hospital, doctors used a tranquilizer on the man to make his muscles contract, but still could not immediately separate the duo. - GMANews.TV

Ahahahaha... this is what I like the most when Americans advertise their product... so true yet no offense to other party. Unlike in the Philippines, even a very lame issue, they always make it a big deal.

Anyway, I don't have any particular fave fast food chain. When I am hungry, I reach out to the nearest one McDo or Jobee... I love the burger steak at Jobee and I like the Cheese Burger at McDo, I love to sip both McFlurry and Swirly Bits and I always order the Coke Float everytime I order a meal at McDO. But, I tend to lessen my fast food intake these days... I gotta eat healthy foods now.

72 Filipinos arrested in Saudi for 'gay' behavior

MANILA, Philippines- Wearing drag at a private event may be harmless fun in many societies, but 72 Filipino men found out they could suffer imprisonment and lashing in Saudi Arabia for such activities after they were arrested for immorality recently.

An article in the Arabic news site www.sabq.org said several “deviants," a term used by Saudi Arabia’s English-language media to describe people who engage in gay behavior, were rounded up during a concert inside a compound in an eastern Riyadh neighborhood.

The report quoted unnamed police officials as saying a "large number of foreign workers" were arrested in the incident, and 72 of them have Philippine citizenship.

Vice Consul Roussel Reyes of the Philippine Embassy in Riyadh told GMANews.TV by phone on Tuesday that they are still confirming the identities of the Filipinos and will seek their employers’ help to bail them out.

Open display of homosexual behavior is strictly prohibited under Saudi Arabia’s Sharia’h law. In extreme cases, such as when the unless the government feels that homosexuals are challenging state authority, the maximum punishment for the act is public execution.

Normally, however, other punishments such as fines, imprisonment, and whipping as alternatives. Individuals caught wearing even just one article of women’s clothing could face three to six months imprisonment, and suffer between 50 and 100 lashes with a rattan stick.

Reyes said nearly 50 other Filipinos have been arrested and jailed in the past for similar violations.

Only sponsors are able to bail out foreign workers who are imprisoned, as long as they provide assurance that the accused would show up in court during trial.

In August last year, Saudi Arabia’s Commission for the Propagation of Virtue and Prevention of Vice arrested several Filipinos in a gay party in the country’s eastern province for "lewd behavior" as well as possession of drugs and alcohol.
