Job description ACTIVITIES:
- Supervise Construction, Production, Maintenance, Logistics and TVX operations and activities in Kharyaga pads and Kharyaga vicinities in order to verify compliance of TEPR HSE standing instructions and procedures. Perform supervisory duty at the level established by his hierarchy.
- Supervise Well Services Operations and activities in Kharyaga pads in order to verify compliance of TEPR HSE standing instructions and procedures. Perform supervisory duty at the level established by his hierarchy.
- To get information on daily basis from the other HSE members working on the Pads for the others Departments as Drilling.
- Perform, in a regular basis, Safety & Health inspections as part of the TEPR HSE policy.
- Perform weekly and monthly inspections of all safety & health equipments and ensure that they are fully operative at all time.
- Perform inspection of OSR kits and ensure that they are full equipped with all required sorbent materials and tools to be used in case of Oil spillages.
- Perform daily/weekly Toolbox meeting regarding safety & health issues in order to increase the safety awareness of the TEPR and contractors working on sites.
- Participate in HSE Monthly meetings on site.
- Participate in any other HSE meetings when necessary.
- Ensure that all TEPR and Contractor personnel working on Kharyaga pads and Kharyaga vicinities are wearing the appropriate PPE and that it is used properly.
- Coordinate with the Site Doctor in order to keep all First aid stations on Kharyaga remote pads proper equipped.
- Perform Safety & Health Training for all TEPR and Contractor personnel working on Kharyaga Site.
- Perform PtW training for TEPR and Contractor personnel. The HSE Supervisorr could be assigned as HSE Authority for Kharyaga remote pads in particular cases, as per Site Management decisions.
- Verify the proper implementation of TEPR PtW system on each Remote Pad.
- Ensure that all necessary gas check is performed if it is indicated as Safety precautions on the PtW form.
- Ensure the proper implementation and compliance of TEPR H2S Policy.
- Ensure the proper follow up / inspection of all H2S Escape masks, Portable Gas detectors, Gas Beacons.
- Perform training to TEPR and Contractors personnel working on Kharyaga Site regarding TEPR Anomaly Cards reporting system and ensure the implementation and participation of all personnel on remote pads. Keep update the Anomaly card database and follow up pending actions close out.
- Supervise and monitoring lifting operations carry out on Kharyaga remote pads and ensure that all lifting gears and equipment have been correctly inspected and certified before start any lifting / offloading of materials.
- Ensure that all Gas cylinders storage areas in Kharyaga remote pads are properly defined and are in compliance with TEPR HSE procedures and RF regulations.
- Perform Monthly Portable Fire extinguishers inspections on each Kharyaga remote pads and ensure that are fully operative and kept in good conditions.
- Inform to Maintenance department of any disability of the fire and gas detection system on remote pads.
- Participate as Fire & Rescue Team member – squad leader during emergencies exercises or real emergencies on remote pads.
- Perform maintenance and testing of Breathing Apparatus. Perform on site SCBA training for operators or contractors personnel.
- Perform weekly / monthly SCBA inspection.
- Perform, organize and participate in emergency drills, exercises and alarm testing.
- Supervise the proper disposal of hazardous / domestics wastes on Kharyaga Site.
- Ensure that all personnel arriving to Kharyaga Site already have passed the HSE Induction.
- Supervise that all jobs in Kharyaga remote pad is being performed safely and following safety practices as per TEPR HSE rules and RF regulations.
- Monitoring weather conditions (wind speed and temperatures, visibility) during execution of jobs on Kharyaga Site and inform to the concerned discipline Superintendent if there is risk of accidents.

Requirements CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT:
- Reports directly to HSE Superintendent, with direct link to HSE Site Manager
- Frequent contacts with contracting companies working on the Kharyaga facilities.
- Maintaining established procedures and specialized technical standards is required.
- All work activities are spot checked and inspected at job completion.
- Harsh Arctic conditions.
- Able to do moderate physical efforts, walking and climbing.
- Skill as a driver in artic conditions is desirable

ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- To ensure that all personnel working in Kharyaga facilities are proper trained in fire / safety / health / environment protection courses as needed by TEPR HSE Statement and / or as requested by their department.
- To maintain Statement in Health, Safety and Environment protection training to all Total E&P Russie employees and contractors and ensure this is carried out in an effective manner.
- To ensure accurate reporting of incidents occurred in Kharyaga remote pads in a timely manner in line with established HSE rules and regulations.
- To ensure the dissemination of safety information and feed back through proper training.

PROFILE/ QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Strong autonomy is required.
- Good communication skills needed.
- Good knowledge of RF environmental regulation.
- 5-6 years experience in environment management on site in the oil and gas industry or similar.
- Good spoken and written English mandatory.
- Driving skills and Driving license is mandatory.

Our client who has an oil field project in Asia-Pacific is looking for an Operations Superintendent. This is going to be a permanent position.

Details are as follows:

As an experienced Operations Superintendent for major offshore projects, this individual is responsible for ensuring appropriate and timely overall operations input into the Project Engineering and Resource Development designs. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will require substantive experience in subsea engineering and operations, with an ability to optimally recover the field's hydrocarbons in the most economic and reliable manner to ensure the maximum value of the resource is achieved. The successful candidate will also lead the development of the project's operations and maintenance strategies as well as the establishment and execution of a staffing strategy for the project. Once the project design is complete and construction has begun, the successful candidate will assume preparation of commissioning procedures and operational readiness activities.

The Operations Superintendent will also provide expert input regarding offshore operations, risk identification and mitigation, safety and environment, etc. He/she will work closely with the Business Unit, delivering fit for purpose well designs and facilities within an approved budget, and will provide innovative strategies and solutions to maximize value for the Company. The Operations Superintendent will be located initially in the FEED Contractor's offices with later relocation to where the project will be managed - at this time - S.E. Asia.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Provide operations input into the project's functional and detailed design

Champion operational integrity which contains 14 elements of well-defined aims and expectations to effectively manage risks associated with the business and create a safe and secure workplace. Ensure understanding and compliance of all operational integrity objectives

Ensure appropriate operational inputs to technical, scope, cost estimate and management reviews/audits and follow up on assigned actions

Establish HSE objectives and metrics, ensuring a progressive culture is maintained towards accountability around accomplishing agreed upon targets.

Report and regularly communicate issues of critical importance to the Sr Project Manager.

Provide input to the relevant sections of the Overall Development Plan (ODP) for the project; fully support the business unit in the approval process

Develop apex cost estimates for the Development as input into budgets and economic models

Ensure operations is fully integrated to ensure the offshore fields are optimally developed to fully recover hydrocarbons reserves in the most economic manner, so that the development plan is fit for purpose and operationally sound

Develop site specific Operations and Maintenance philosophy and strategies

Develop Commissioning and Start-Up Procedures, manage and implement all operations readiness activities to meet first gas requirements

Develop and implement a recruiting strategy, staffing plans, budgets and, as appropriate, commence recruiting and readiness for project execution

Ensure the safety of all staff and contractors on site during operations

Qualifications

Our ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

A Bachelors Degree in Engineering with either a Masters or Doctorate being considered an asset

* Medicines
* Kerosene and other volatile fuels
* Detergent
* Bleach
* Fertiliser
* Pesticide
* Paint and solvents
* Mothballs

An ounce of prevention

Poisoning can be prevented through the following safety measures:
* Lock all cabinets containing harmful substances with childproof locks from a reputable hardware shop.
* Do not re-use drink bottles to contain other chemicals like kerosene, bleach, fertiliser or thinner. Even if you re-label the bottles, your child in his curiosity will not read the label and may drink the contents.
* Keep all medicines locked up. n When you take medicines, take them out of children’s sight.
* Tell children that medicine is medicine, not ‘sweets’, and that they are only to take it when you give it to them.
* Don’t leave mothballs loose in cupboards. They are often mistaken for hard candy, with tragic results. If you must use them, hang them in a cloth sachet from the clothes rail where children can’t reach.
* Store all detergents, chemicals, and other potentially poisonous substances more than 1.75 metres above ground level so that children cannot reach them.
* Don’t leave children playing unsupervised.
* Remember that cosmetics and some plants in the garden can also be poisonous.

If anything happens

No matter how careful you are to store the above and any other potentially dangerous poison far out of children’s reach, accidental ingestion can happen. So what can you do when your precious little one encounters something poisonous?

Poison on the skin

What to do:
* Remove child’s clothing
* Rinse affected area with clean lukewarm water
* If skin appears to have been burnt by poison, continue rinsing under running water for at least 15 minutes
* Seek medical attention immediately and take the poison with you

What not to do:
* Use extremely hot or cold water
* Apply ointment or medication, unless directed by doctor
* Scrub the skin

Poison in the eye

What to do:
* Hold eyelid open
* Rinse the eye under running water for at least 15 minutes
* Take child to the nearest hospital with an emergency department and an ophthalmologist

What not to do:
* Use eye drops or eye bath, unless directed by doctor
* “Rub” the eye

Swallowed poison

What to do:
* Take the poison away from the child
* If the poison is still in the child’s mouth, get him to spit it out or use your fingers to remove it
* Induce vomiting only if you are sure the poison is not a volatile substance (eg.Kerosene)
* Collect whatever is spit out, as well as any poison left in the container, and show it to the doctor. Take him to the emergency department as soon as possible because the longer you wait, more of the poison is absorbed into the body.

What not to do:
* Force the child to vomit if you are not sure of the nature of the poison.

In case of emergency…

Don’t underestimate the effects of some common household products on a young child’s body. It may be difficult to be sure if your child has swallowed or touched anything poisonous, but the following may indicate that he has. If your child has any of the following symptoms, bring him to the doctor or emergency ward immediately:
* Sore throat
* Difficulty breathing
* Drowsiness n Irritability or restlessness
* Nausea, vomiting or stomach pain with no fever
* Blisters or burns around the lips and mouth
* Abnormal drooling
* Strange odours on the breath
* Strange stains on the clothing
* Seizures
* Unconsciousness

Useful information

The following will be useful for the doctor or medical personnel to determine how to treat your child:

* What was taken
* Describe the item
* If it was medicine, bring along the container and what’s left in it
* If it was something else, eg part of a plant or a household ornament, bring it to show the doctor
* How much was taken
* When it was taken
* What had been done before taking child for medical attention

Borobudur, the Biggest Buddhist Temple in the Ninth Century

Who does not know Borobudur temple? This Buddhist temple has 1460 relief panels and 504 Buddha effigies in its complex. Millions of people are eager to visit this building as one of the World Wonder Heritages. It is not surprising since architecturally and functionally, as the place for Buddhists to say their prayer, Borobudur is attractive.

Borobudur was built by King Samaratungga, one of the kings of Old Mataram Kingdom, the descendant of Sailendra dynasty. Based on Kayumwungan inscription, an Indonesian named Hudaya Kandahjaya revealed that Borobudur was a place for praying that was completed to be built on 26 May 824, almost one hundred years from the time the construction was begun. The name of Borobudur, as some people say, means a mountain having terraces (budhara), while other says that Borobudur means monastery on the high place.

Borobudur is constructed as a ten-terraces building. The height before being renovated was 42 meters and 34.5 meters after the renovation because the lowest level was used as supporting base. The first six terraces are in square form, two upper terraces are in circular form, and on top of them is the terrace where Buddha statue is located facing westward. Each terrace symbolizes the stage of human life. In line with of Buddha Mahayana, anyone who intends to reach the level of Buddha's must go through each of those life stages.

The base of Borobudur, called Kamadhatu, symbolizes human being that are still bound by lust. The upper four stories are called Rupadhatu symbolizing human beings that have set themselves free from lust but are still bound to appearance and shape. On this terrace, Buddha effigies are placed in open space; while the other upper three terraces where Buddha effigies are confined in domes with wholes are called Arupadhatu, symbolizing human beings that have been free from lust, appearance and shape. The top part that is called Arupa symbolizes nirvana, where Buddha is residing.

Each terrace has beautiful relief panels showing how skillful the sculptors were. In order to understand the sequence of the stories on the relief panels, you have to walk clockwise from the entrance of the temple. The relief panels tell the legendary story of Ramayana. Besides, there are relief panels describing the condition of the society by that time; for example, relief of farmers' activity reflecting the advance of agriculture system and relief of sailing boat representing the advance of navigation in Bergotta (Semarang).

All relief panels in Borobudur temple reflect Buddha's teachings. For the reason, this temple functions as educating medium for those who want to learn Buddhism. To suggests that you walk through each narrow passage in Borobudur in order for you to know the philosophy of Buddhism. Atisha, a Buddhist from India in the tenth century once visited this temple that was built 3 centuries before Angkor Wat in Cambodia and 4 centuries before the Grand Cathedrals in Europe.

Thanks to visiting Borobudur and having supply of Buddha teaching script from Serlingpa (King of Sriwijaya), Atisha was able to improve Buddha's teachings after his return to India and he built a religion institution, Vikramasila Buddhism. Later he became the leader of Vikramasila monastery and taught Tibetans of practicing Dharma. Six scripts from Serlingpa were then summarized as the core of the teaching called "The Lamp for the Path to Enlightenment" or well known as Bodhipathapradipa.

A question about Borobudur that is still unanswered by far is how the condition around the temple was at the beginning of its foundation and why at the time of it's finding the temple was buried. Some hypotheses claim that Borobudur in its initial foundation was surrounded by swamps and it was buried because of Merapi explosion. It was based on Kalkutta inscription with the writing 'Amawa' that means sea of milk. The Sanskrit word was used to describe the occurrence of disaster. The sea of milk was then translated into Merapi lava. Some others say that Borobudur was buried by cold lava of Merapi Mountain.

With the existing greatness and mystery, it makes sense if many people put Borobudur in their agenda as a place worth visiting in their lives. Besides enjoying the temple, you may take a walk around the surrounding villages such as Karanganyar and Wanurejo.
