$2,000 Nordic Trak Treadmill for $75

I am SO STOKED about a new purchase of ours, yes debt free. Yesterday, my mom called and said that there was a brand new $2,000 Nordic Trak treadmill that someone had just dropped off at the Sugarhouse D.I. and they were selling it for $85! I was over there in 10 minutes and FELL IN LOVE. The worker knocked it down to $75 for me.......

My Bombshell Bargain advice is to try out the Sugarhouse and 700 E. D.I.s! You'll say, "Well, I just don't have patience for the D.I., I'd rather go somewhere easier"

Well here's my view: This treadmill costs $2,000. To pay for it retail you'd have to work for 200 hours at $10 an hour. However, I got it for $75 being inside for ten minutes.

The most time I've ever spent at the D.I. is an hour but I find quality items worth purchasing 95% of the time. Try it. Spend an hour scouring it and you'll thank me.

If you don't have an "eye" for that kind of stuff. CALL ME, We'll make it a shopping date!

Car shopping sucks! Unfortunately, that has been basically a part time job for my husband and I for the past few months. To get enough money to pay down student loans we had to sell our $20,000 SUV for two cars we could pay for with cash.

Our former car-2007 Ford Escape-24 MPG-$20,000

Of course, the only place to find a car that cheap and in decent condition is on KSL. Dealers are freakin' RIP OFFS and a huge majority of them are SCAM artists. I can't even tell you how many times we almost got robbed.

Brittany'y TEN Rules for Car Shopping

1) Pay with cash (but always get a bill of sale)-when you flash the cash, people are more likely to respond. Cash it a great negotiating tool when you're trying to knock the price down. People have an emotional attachment to cash. If you purchase the car for your safety and the seller's...always obtain a bill of sale.

2) Buy Privately (a lot of the time great cars get put up for sell because people just want to get rid of having them as an expense).

If you follow these rules, one day you can own a car this sexy! :)

3) AVOID dealers at all cost (even if they are family friends, you will still pay way over what you could get it if you buy privately).

4) Get it checked out by a mechanic before you buy it. I happen to know a mechanic who is the most honest man I have ever met and he gives great service for an incredibly low price. Every diagnosis he has given me on a car was done for free. (not saying he will do yours for free but he might).

5) Do NOT finance or put on a credit card (redundant to #1)

The point of getting a car if you're young or in debt is to get OUT of debt so you can enjoy wealth later on and a nice car in the future. Drive a clunker now and you'll be happy you did. Therefore, financing would make your purchase even more ridiculous.

6) Set expectations for yourself (are you willing to put a few dollars into the body, mechanics, are you okay with "as is"?)

7) To get the best bang for your buck and reliability on a long lasting car, Search KSL for:
1. Year over 1997
2. Miles under 130,000
3. Type: Hyundai, Honda, Mazda, Acura, Honda, Volvo (foreign cars are best)
4. Between $1,000-$3,000

If you want a long-lasting transmission avoid: Chevy, Ford, Chrysler, GMC etc. But these are great SUVs

If you want great gas mileage: Mazda, Hyundai, Acura, Honda, Volvo, Kia (though not the best cars) etc.

8) Be diligent in your search and never settle-watch KSL like a hawk and especially after 5pm when people post great car ads. If you test drive a car and you feel there might be problems with it, don't settle. Great cars get posted EVERY day.

9) Check consumer reviews and Kelly Blue Book-If the majority of the reviews on the car are bad, don't buy it. If it is over KBB, don't even bother, you're getting ripped off.

10) Get a car fax report (I think it's like $30 for 8 reports)-If the title is bad, your insurance goes up.

Wedding Reception Flowers for under $160

So.... searching for a florist is the worst thing ever when you're trying to plan your ceremony or reception. Usually, once you do find one, they want to charge you an arm and a leg for it all.

This is why you make a plan and do it yourself. It's not hard at all.....I did it.

So yes, it's true. There is no such thing as a gimmick on my blog. I am all about the truth and I am all about sharing the secrets. Anyway, I've been in much need of a vacation since I've gotten married and been in school working my face off.

Anyway, in February I was able to get 30,000 Delta Skymiles for free and I went to Orlando, FL with my handsome husband for an entire week.

Just FYI, just about anyone can do it as long as you're over 18.

What to do:
1) Call American Express

2) Sign up for a Gold Skymiles Card (free)

3) They will put your application through and if you get approved (it doesn't matter your credit limit approval) you get an initial 25,000 Skymiles just for signing up. If you wish to instantly earn 5,000 more miles while you're still on the phone, they will ask you to put two more names on your card (I put my husband and mom's names).

4) They'll send you the card(s) and when you receive them in the mail.....CUT THEM UP!! On Bombshell Bargains, we live without credit cards. They will also email you a delta skymiles account number.

5) Once you have the card, you have the miles. Go to delta.com and click on "skymiles" then "book award trip" to see where you can go for 30,000 miles. You want to make sure you're searching in the low season when you book your trip (February and the first week of May are low times).

6) If you find a place you want to go and you have enough miles then book the flight (you can do it online or call delta...just make sure you have your skymiles number).

Just FYI......(Year-round you can usually fly to LA, Vegas, Phoenix etc. from SLC for only 25,000 miles). If you want to go back east (NYC, Miami, DC etc.) like I did, you'll need to make sure you're booking in the "low" season to get it around 30,000.

9) The dress only takes a month to make and they ship it overnight.

* Personally, I think it's rather lame when prom goers purchase their dress. I have friends who paid over $300 for their prom dress and they wore it for ONE NIGHT! ( I had my wedding dress custom-made from China for only $57!) I'm sure the next morning they or their parents have "buyer's remorse."

- As for boys, they are usually the smart and logical ones anyway because they rent.

Why is it only $5? Because it will last you around 5 months and for the normal size it is an initial investment of $25.
(Ulta has coupons all the time for saving even more on Bare Minerals).

Over a long period of time (at least 5 months) you'll save a lot of money than you would by buying cheap, crappy drug-store makeup.

I would go into Ulta or Apothica and get color-matched for free. I wear the C30, medium tan SPF 15 because I have fairly tan skin. If you get a color darker than your skin tone, it still looks pretty natural.

Ifyou end up buying the product, I would head to Smith's Food and Drug to buy a Real Kabuki Hair Blush Brush. If you want your makeup to last, you can't use the crappy brushes. I believe at Smith's it ranges from $4-$7. (They even sell the Bare Minerals brand blush brush at Smith's or Rite Aid too).

Quality Wedding Photography under $900

Are you getting married this summer???

I got married last August and it was crazy planning a wedding on a budget of $5,000. However, to this day I STILL get compliments on how beautiful my wedding photography was. Guess What? My photographer was only 13 years old and it was her first wedding AND she only charged me $500 for everything. Yet, her mother is one of Utah's best photographers and she had been camera shooting with her mom since she was 8.

*Rules in Finding Quality Wedding Photography*

~ Don't fall for Big Name Studios- Don't bother going well-known studios (Inkley's, Swensen, Barrus) that charge ridiculous sitting fees, engagement fees, extra for prints, limited time etc. You'll usually get RIPPED OFF!

~Search Facebook and KSL -I found my photographer on Facebook. Usually, great photographers will leave a "watermark" of their name or business on their photos. Search for someone who has interests in photography or their own page. After you've looked through their photos and like their style (I guarantee you will find someone) send the photographer an email and ask them how much they would charge for bridals, engagements, wedding day, and reception.

~ Know What Syle of Photography You Want-I went for the Romantic, yet artistic feel. I wanted beautiful scenery and an "in the moment" feeling. I found Wren Gracyn Parker (daughter of well-known photographer Julie Parker) and emailed her. Little did I know, she would do my engagements, bridals, wedding day and reception with NO TIME LIMIT for $500 (Not including prints). Since I gave her her first ever wedding shoot, she now charges only $900 for newcomers. (She's well worth more). Search photographers on facebook or ksl, especially if they're new to the scene. I promise you should not be afraid to take a chance with them. Their photos say it all.

~ Get Pictures Printed Through Costco.com- Do NOT get your prints through your photographer unless they can beat Costco's prices--whose quality is fabulous and amazingly inexpensive. I was able to get all of my prints done for under $100 (That is including EVERYTHING, invite pics...EVERYTHING!) It is not much extra work anyway.

So, in about 2006 I CHOPPED my hair off. DO NOT ask me why! Long hair is so sexy and according to Glamour Magazine, 95% of men prefer it on women. Why? Because it's super feminine! Needless to say, my hair takes FOREVER to grow so I had to find a solution...and fast.

At first I was skeptical because they did not match my hair color. I am blonde with brown weaved in, and they only had blonde. I decided to purchase $3 brown dye and weave brown into my extensions with a $1 toothbrush I bought. I washed and blow-dryed my extensions and now I've worn the same ones for almost 5 years.

Once I discovered the secret, my friends would compliment on my FB or in person on how beautiful my hair was! I told them, and yes, cocky as it may sound... I kind of feel like the originator since they came to the market in 2006 and I was one of the first one to get them! :)

Alright, so we all know Spring is in the air and Summer is not much further! What does that mean? Yup, we as bombshells need to be bikini ready. Instead of going to gym, hiring a personal trainer, or buying diet pills/dietary supplements, you can get the body you want for free. What a bargain!

The Truth: 90% of celeb weight loss regimens are a lie.

In 2007, I reached my heaviest weight ever and it was because I was falling for the quick ways to lose weight. Needless to say, it back fired. Diuretics (water pills), hoodia, obsessive exercise were not the answer for me. I also justified that because I was taking diet pills, I could eat whatever I wanted.....


My heaviest in 2007. My legs were toned because I was working out, but it was obvious in my stomach that I was not eating healthy and that diet pills and diuretics were causing me to lose healthy muscle mass.

*Lose Weight in 3 steps, the RIGHT WAY*

1) "Moderation in all things"- just like the scriptures suggest.
I allow myself to eat anything, but I CONTROL how much of it goes into my body. My favs are diet mtn. dew, chips, and oreos. Instead of eating a million oreos, I use self-control and only eat 2 (or even just the part I like, the frosting!) If you restrict yourself, it will always backfire. Obvsiously, incorporate healthy foods into your diet everyday so you don't becoming "what you eat."
2) Expend More Calories Than You Take In
80% of weight loss is based on diet. The other 20% is exercise.It is important to figure out your BMR (the rate at which your body burns calories just to stay alive).

If you weigh 124 lbs, just X's by 10= 1,240kcals/day.
-TO MAINTAIN- eat 1,240 kcals of food to MAINTAIN.
-TO LOSE- Eat 100 kcals less= 1,140 kcals
-IF YOU ARE ACTIVE- Eat 1,240 kcals. If you burn 300 calors in a workout, allow yourself 300 more.

3) Weigh Only Once a Week

Be patient and not obsessive. I weigh every Friday at 8am which accurately tracks my weight. If you weigh everyday, you will become discouraged because your water weight fluctuates. Another rule of keeping your weight down is to eat "lightly, nightly."

I lost 30 lbs by applying these long lasting principles, and I feel great!

Save on cake price by decorating the cake w/ your own flowers (Costco)

Wedding Cake is an important element that adds to your genre of a reception. However if you have a budget, it is something you are allowed to skimp on. After all, no one really ever cares for cake once they have eaten the reception food.

Your best bet to find a quality price is through internet searches. I went through Granite Bakery and they are one of the top wedding cake bakeries in the state. They offered me a low price of $370 (to feed 175 people-3 tiers, 3 flavors, 3 filling) but even better, they tasted good! I had over 500 people at my reception, but by the time you cut the cake, 175 servings is way too much.

The tier holder was included and the cake decorated elaborately. Less is more.

All white is my romantic style, but there is something out there for everyone.

There are many people who advertise in the classifieds (KSL, Craigslist) who will create a beautiful fondant cake for a ridiculously inexpensive price. Make sure the cake looks nice, but it is a plus if it tastes good. Remember though, taste truly is NOT CRUCIAL. It's more about the look! I know from experience that no one eats the cake and it goes to waste 90% of the time anyway!

Places like Ross, TJ MaXX and Marshalls are listed as top places that millionaire wives shop (why do you think they are millionaires?). Personally, my favorite places are Plato's Closet, Deseret Industries (especially the downtown one, you get awesome stuff from rich people in the avenues), Wal-Mart, and anywhere with a good sale going on.
