Victorian Flower Card

Here is a victorian looking card I made using the die "Fun Flowers" from Stampin' Up. After I die cut the flower, I embossed it with a Cuddlebug embossing folder. I distressed the edges and attached them with a lace and pearl brad. The leaves are made from the large oval punch from Stampin' Up, folded in half and crimped. Lastly, I added a little organdy ribbon off to the side of the card.

Jenni Bowlin Vintage Valentines

Here are a few supplies that I just love! I ordered some vintage valentine bingo cards from Jenni Bowlin. I then found a paper pack at Hobby Lobby also by Jenni Bowlin that matches perfectly. I used some of the flower embellishments I made a few days ago with Stampin' Up's "Fun Flowers" die. I used black paper and some dyed newspaper (dyed with "Mel's Dinner" glimmer mist from Tattered Angels). I put a pearl gem in the centers. I used some wrinkle ribbon from my stash and some red flower embellishments (from Michaels). Thanks for stopping by. Happy creating!

Ladybug Kit

Here are some of the things I made from a Ladybug Valentine kit. I used the cartridge Create A Critter from Cricut. I used the cute little ladybug to made some cards, a notebook, a treat bag and more. I have also been making these little paperbag pocket envelopes to put all the valentine treats in. The sentiment is from the set Bugs and Kisses (retired Stampin' Up) and the glitter hearts are punched with a Stampin' Up punch from their red glitter paper.

Ladybug Gem

This ladybug card is a pattern I got from a friend a couple years ago. As I was cleaning my craft room (again, and no I'm still not done organizing!) I found this ladybug card kit. I revamped it a bit to add some dazzle with the sticker gems. Those and the googly eyes make this card quite adorable. The card base is cut from Real Red cardstock the scallop circle die from Stampin' Up. The little black flowers are punched from a Creative Memories punch. The edges are sponged in Whisper White craft ink.

Whimsey Valentine

Here is a Valentine that I made into a kit to sell. I made one sample and included enough pieces to make 5 more cards. The stamp on this Valentine is from Jenni Bowlin Studio called "Whimsy Silhouette". The girl is actually holding a star, I just put the heart over it. The glitter heart is punched from Stampin' Up's red glitter paper. Thanks for looking!

Vintage Popcorn Valentine

I found these cute pictures of a vintage popcorn Valentine and thought this would make a cute Valentine gift this year. I found the clip art picture on a site called Vintage Crafts and Holiday clip art. I printed the Valentine and cut it out. I then decorated a mini bag of popcorn with pattern paper and attached the valentine on the front. A little glitter on the popcorn adds just the right amount of sparkle. I also added some ribbon and punched hearts. The second time I was creating these I had a thought.... I had these popcorn bags (for no reason other than I thought someday I would be able to use them for crafting!). I put the popcorn in the bag, stapled it shut and then decorated the bag.

Make Your Own Valentines Kit

Happy New Year! I am sorry I haven't posted recently, but I have been busy with the holidays and now busy creating! I often get questions about where I find my supplies for creating. I am more than happy to share, but I often get my things from all over (and sometimes random places). Well, this time... you won't have to go out to find the materials to create some of my projects. I created some Valentine Kits and went way overboard throwing things in! There are over 50 pieces included: cards, envelopes, buttons, postage stamps, clothespins, paper clips, gems, flowers, ribbon, rick rack, lace, cut out letters, vintage ephemera, felt hearts, playing cards, and more! It is all packaged up in a cute paperbag pocket envelope. If you are interested in this, check out my etsy store! Here are a few samples I made from the kit, plus I still have pieces left over! Some of the supplies I used includes glitter designer paper from Stampin' Up, the Fun Flowers die also from Stampin' Up (I used newspaper that had been dyed with glimmermist to create the flowers), a sizzlet alphabet die to create the word "friends", a Close to My Heart stamp set called "Find Your Style", vintage postage stamps, some playing cards, vintage tickets... and more!

Here are some cute little felt pieces I found at JoAnn Fabrics (for $1!). I paired these cute felt cutouts with some holiday paper to make these cute easy cards, perfect for little thank yous to my students this year. Of course, everything looks better with glitter, so on the white circle background, I added a layer of Martha Stewart white glue and sprinkled with some chunky white glitter (also Martha Stewart). I have gotten several messages asking me how I attach the glitter in my projects. Mostly I use a glue pen, but for chunky glass glitter, I use a white glue. You could use Elmer's glue, but I use a brand called "Best Glue Ever" by Scraperfect.

Well, a few more Christmas posts and then I will be working on Valentine projects! Time flies! I have had this elf set for years and still love it. The background paper is from the Recollections pack from Michaels I told you about in an earlier post. I think he made need some glitter though. This stamp is so elegant. I stamped the reindeer and the sentiment in white and then embossed them. I added some silver glitter on the antlers and mica flakes as the snow. That's it! How easy is this!

Some things have to be believed to be seen. This is one of my favorite cards. I love anything with a Santa. The stamp is a Tim Holtz stamp. The paper and the embellishment is from Melissa Frances. Glitter Stockings

This card was made with the new stocking punch and glitter paper from Stampin' Up. The background paper was from a big paper pack called "Bright and Jolly" by Recollections I found a Michael's. It has the cutest holiday paper. I have used this paper for several holiday cards already. This card will be available this week at my classes.

Patterned Pines

Here is another sample of a card that will be offered at my card classes this week. This is a fun color combination for a Christmas card. The base is kraft cardstock. The trees are done in garden green and the snow hills are done with bashful blue, tempting turquoise and white. All with dazzling diamond glitter added for sparkle.

Holiday Class

It's been a while since I have had a class, so I have schedule two classes coming up next week. I have been working on some cards and projects to offer next week, so over the next couple days, I will be showing some of the projects. To start off with, I have a gift card holder which is perfect for Starbuck's or other coffee cards because it is made from a recycled coffee cup wrapper. Another project (that actually matches the above card) is a decorated gift bag, ready to be filled with some homemade treats. One class will be Wednesday night, November 30 (6pm - 9pm) and the other is Saturday, December 3 (10 am - 2 pm). Check back often to see more projects and cards.

Purple Snowflakes

It seems I always make the traditional red and green Christmas cards or blue snowflakes, so I wanted to mix it up a bit and try a different color. I found this purple patterned paper with snowflakes on it and that was my inspiration. This silver snowflake die is called "Bianca" from Memory Box. It is so delicate and I was wondering how well it would cut, but I was surprised, it cut quite well! These are cut from shiny silver paper. The purple snowflake behind the silver is punched with a Marvy punch. I then added some Glimmermist to the purple snowflake for some added glitz. The glittery pen (swirls around the edges) was from Gelly Roll. The "holiday photos" was cut from my Cricut using the cartridge "Joys of the Season".

The Great Outdoors!

Look at this darling moose! I found this Cricut cartridge "Campin' Critters" and just had to have it! I made this moose into some cards, but I also made a few photo/journal albums. He just seemed to be the perfect cover for these. I used the Stampin' Up "On Board Journal" for this project. The paper is by "Happy Camper" by Imaginisce (found at my local Ludington craft store!) The title "the great outdoors" was also part of this cartridge. The senitment "smile" is Stampin' Up and the phrase "a picture is worth a thousand words" is from "Say Cheese, too" by LawnFawn.

Gobble! Gobble!

It's getting to be that time of year! I have been making a ton of holiday cards. Here are some Thanksgiving cards I just added to my spot at Changing Thymes. I made these cards using the stamp set and matching dies "Gobble Gobble" from Paper Trey Ink. Again, the paper is from the paper pack "Autumn Splendor" (see previous post). Of course, the googly eyes really make this card so cute. Don't forget, if you are in mid-West Michigan, check out my booth (all the booths) at Changing Thymes on Chicago Dr. in Grandville, Michigan! Felt Leaves

These cards are made using the stamp set Leaf Prints from Paper Trey Ink and the matching dies. I cut the leaves from felt (also from Paper Trey) and then stamped the leaf veins. I added some clear glitter glue to add some sparkle. The scallop circle is cut using a Nestibilities set (Beaded Circle, I think). The paper is from the paper pack Autumn Splendor from We R Memory Keepers. I will be showing a lot of cards from this paper pack - I love the fall plaid in this card.

Sparkle Leaf

November is right around the corner and this is a perfect November fall card. The card stock and ink colors I used are Soft Suede and Baja Breeze (both from Stampin' Up) The pattern paper is from "First Edition Specialty" from Stampin'Up. The maple leaf is heat embossed using white embossing powder. I then sponged ink around the embossed leaf and added glitter glue (from Ranger). I added wrinkled ribbon (seam binding) that I antiqued with Bronze glimmer mist (Tattered Angels).

I made this "witch" card using the Cricut cartridge Mini Monsters. The background glitter paper is from a Halloween paper pack. The sentiment is from a retired Stampin' Up set. I stamped the sentiment and then punched it out using the label punch (Stampin' Up). The button is from DeNami Design (Boutique Buttons) in Halloween colors. Again, here was another vintage Halloween picture I found. And again I distressed the edges with the ink Vintage Photo by Ranger. I matted it on Stampin' Up card stock and added some Stickles glitter glue. Very quick and simple.

I'm not sure where I found this picture, but I knew I would want to make something with it. I cut the picture down a little and matted it on Pacific Point blue and then on Dusty Darango (all of the pieces were distressed. The card base was embossed with the Square Lattice embossing folder from Stampin' Up. I added a little orange glitter glue (Stickles) on the pumpkin. I have another vintage halloween card to show next time! Thanks for looking!

Totally Tools

Here are a couple birthday cards I made using the set "Totally Tools" (Stampin' Up). I had a friend ask for some masculine birthday cards and thought this set would work. I colored the stamped tools with Copic markers, cut them out and attached them to the printed background paper. I found the brads shaped like "nails and screws" at Hobby Lobby. I thought they would look good on a card like this.
