A couple years ago i moved locations and sold new and used vehicles in Issaquah. Selling New Ford's and Lincoln's was a great experience. I learned patience and also worked with great people. This was a e-mail from a very satisfied customer who found me on the internet and we started e-mailing about a week before his Hyundai lease came to an end. I showed him a Ford Fiesta, Ford Fusion and a Ford Escape. We then looked at a Ford Focus. Turned out the weekend he was planning on dropping off his Hyundai Elantra . I offered him a nicely equipped Ford Focus on sale. Of course he liked the way it drove and all the options it had and it turned out less than the others.

We had a very pleasant experience with Dan. He is patient, professional and thoughtful. He helped us find a car we want, explained a lot of details about the car's features and various functions. We were given plenty of time to make a decision; test drove two different cars and fell in love with the C-Max. We weren't aware of the C-Max and Dan took the time to explain the difference between the Escape and C-Max. He also may us aware of leasing versus an outright purchase. He will answer any question honestly or say "I don't know but will find out" A Great dealership! We live on Bainbridge Island but are happy to drive to Kirkland for the service we receive at Kirkland Ford.

Dan Lozott (Internet Manager) spent over 4 hours with me over 2 visits to the dealership, inclusive of staying 2 hours late to process the purchase paperwork and to show me how to operate the Sync system and other features of the vehicle. Dan described their Internet Pricing philosophy and quickly researched the new car inventory via the computer to show me what was in stock and all the options on the various vehicles. There was no pressure to purchase; Dan just gave me all the stats/specs/information so that I could make an informed decision. Even though the vehicle did not have one of the options I was looking for, the low Ad price was too good to pass up. The Ad price was thousands less than MSRP. I'll use a portion of the savings to pay for a local aftermarket installer to add the equipment. Dan answered all my questions and everything concerning the transaction was transparent, no surprises.

I would recommend Dan Lozott for your new car purchase anytime. He's not pushy and goes out of his way to get you the car you want. I bought a Ford Flex from Dan 2 years ago and now I am going back for a Focus SE hatchback. Would buy more cars from him again in the future!!!

I came into Ford of Kirkland to look at a Ford Fiesta because I need a great gas mileage commuter car. My salesman told me about a great Lease opportunity for two Fiestas sitting on the lot! I had looked at Toyota, Mazda and Kia. For the money, the Ford deal was hands down the best! I can afford to buy the car but I really don't need to buy it for work errands. This lease option was incredible! We were done with the deal in about two hours and I drove away feeling happy and comfortable that I was treated exceptionally well! Car deals are usually long, drawn out deals where salesmen try to up sell everything. I was asked about the options available but not coerced and I really appreciated that! I am not new to buying cars and I felt that for once that was respected! This little car has all I need with a few bells and whistles I like but didn't need for example Sync, USB connectivity, and Sirius radio ready. I still have my Toyota Land cruiser and will continue driving it as my first love but believe that soon Ford will have a comparable car. Ford is stepping up their line of vehicles to compete, and Dan is so knowledgeable about the line that it made this experience truly simple! When I am ready for another car, I will call on Dan!

From the email communication to the time I got my keys, I was treated with quality service. Dan worked with me and helped me figure out exactly what model was right for me. They sold me my 2012 Ford Explorer for the advertised price, no hassle, no haggling. I have a difficult credit situation and was quite fearful of even looking for a new (used) vehicle. I did not have very high hopes of being able to find both a vehicle I would be proud to drive and could afford or be loaned. I was realistic in knowing that I would have a higher interest rate.

Dan showed me many options, which was different from another dealership who said I had the choice of 1, very ugly vehicle at 23% interest. I was treated very respectfully by Dan, given many options and ultimately found me a vehicle that I am truly happy with and I'm not paying 23% interest.

The happiness I felt was overwhelming and still feel it each time I get behind the wheel of my new (used) car.

I plan on coming back to Dan for future purchases and will definitely be referring him to people in the market.

Recently during a visit to the service department I had some disagreements with the work they had done I have to tell you readers that Ford of Kirkland came through after all. Jim Walen called me this morning and told me how important I was as a customer and that he wanted to make things right. I stopped by Ford of Kirkland and met with Jim and his wife Amy. It’s not very often that you meet someone with integrity but I have to say Jim has it. It is obvious that he cares a lot about their business and so does Amy. They bent over backwards to clear the air between us and restored my faith in their store. I have always respected Dan Lozott (internet sales) he sold me my truck in 1999 and has done a lot to make sure I was taken care of. Dennis in parts is always willing to give me the right info and makes sure I get what I need as quickly as he can. A new guy to me Greg the "New Car Sales Manager" seems to be a real nice guy that is honest and wants to do what is right all the time. When you talk to this guy you know you are talking to someone that has a heart. All in all I will return to buy a vehicle from Ford of Kirkland and I definitely suggest you do to.

Ford designed ‘Scorpion’ diesel engine to replace the Navistar Power Stroke for 2011

How important? Diesels make up almost 80% of Super Duty sales. And the move is expected to permanently end Ford’s longtime use of Navistar built diesel engines in its heavy duty pickups, due to an ongoing legal battle between the two companies over warranty and cost issues related to the old 6.0-liter V8 Power Stroke model years 2003 to 2007.

Ford has used Navistar diesels in its F-Series trucks since 1982. Ford has a new engine under it’s 2011 hood, with a new grill to accommodate its all new engine.

The all new Ford designed ‘Scorpion’ 6.7-liter V8 diesel engine that will replace the current Navistar supplied 6.4-liter V8 Power Stroke by 2011. The Scorpion will also use lighter aluminum cylinder heads, abandoning the cast-iron heads in the current 6.4 liter Power Stroke. Power targets are said to be about. 390hp & 720lb-ft of torque. Today’s Power Stroke V8 is rated at a more ’sedate’ 350hp 350lb-ft of torque. Scorpion fuel economy is expected to be increased by at least 3 miles per gallon (mpg) versus the current engine. Helping the Scorpions mileage will be a new 6-speed automatic, like the 2009 F-150 has.

After releasing some exciting technical info on an all-new Power Stroke engine for the 2011 F-Series Super Duty with sales starting in the Spring of 2010.

Under the hood of the new F-Series Super Duty will be a revolutionary new 6.7-liter Power Stroke turbo-diesel engine. The all-new engine promises a “significant improvement in torque, horsepower and fuel economy,” this new F-Series Super Duty would continue to be a class leader in both payload and towing. It will also be significantly quieter than past diesels.

Numerous high-tech innovations have been employed in building this new engine, starting with a compacted graphite iron (CGI) engine block that Ford says is twice as strong as standard iron blocks. This was deemed necessary due to the increases in power output. (This may evenn make it to other vehicles like the GT 500)

The new engine makes use of a Honeywell single variable turbine turbo (this is similar to the one found on the Porsche 911 Turbo), but takes turbo technology a step further still. Instead of one, there are two compressor wheels driven off a single turbine impeller, working like a bi-turbo setup that gives the engine a fast response time with little lag as well as the power of a larger turbo.

Visually, the new engine looks remarkably different, due to the fact that the intake and exhaust systems are the reverse of a conventional engine. The exhaust manifolds sit in the valley of the big V8 engine, while the intake manifold is on the outside. This means the cylinder heads are essentially flipped around.

By significantly reducing the amount of exhaust piping, lag is reduced considerably. Additionally, this new packaging moves the hotter elements of the engine like the turbocharger and exhaust pipes away from the intake areas, ensuring a constant supply of cool air to the engine. And as for that turbo, it sits in the valley between the cylinder banks. Due to its location, spool up is considerably faster and the engine’s overall balance is improved. Another major benefit of this setup is that that cab no longer has to be removed from the frame if work needs to be done on the turbo. Making the maitenence easier, the fuel-pump, EGR also know as exhaust gas recirculation and the thermostats are also easily accessible from the front of the vehicle.

Dan's first drive in a Hybrid Ford Fusion

Today I had the chance to take the first test drive around our Ford dealership in a Hybrid Fusion.

Wow what a great car. Quiet and smooth ride, felt like it has more power than 175 Horse power (13 more than Ford's last Hybrid Engine) and I was able to cruise at 43 mpg on the 275 volt (Ni-MH0) battery. Ford boast it can do 47 on Electric and with time I'm sure this is a reality. We have been offered just a few and I would guess these will be sold out soon. Check with your tax accountant as you will get great tax benefits with the purchase of this vehicle.

2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid EPA rating 41/36, best in class

Fusion highlights;

The vehicle, rated at 41 m.p.g. city and 36 m.p.g. highway, goes on sale NOW, Hurry they will be sold out soon. Point of interest a four-cylinder gasoline-powered version that, in its own right, delivers 23 city and 34 highway.

The Fusion's regenerative braking system, which recovers up to 94 percent of braking energy (the electric motor does the bulk of the braking, turning into a generator and using the recovered power to recharge the battery pack). Thus brake pads are expected to last three to five times longer.

Ford stacked the battery pack behind the rear seat. That still allows for a large trunk. The "battery" actually is 208 individual cells the size of a household 'D' cell.

The Fusion can reach 47 mph on electric power alone – provided you have the right touch on the throttle.

You don't feel the gasoline engine kick in or cut out because of the powertrain control module is calibrated to ease the transition.

Oil change intervals are expected to be at 10,000 miles because the engine does only half the work in this hybrid configuration.

The Fusion Hybrid is a complete car, with some advantages over the competition. Like the Prius and Camry, its hybrid system has an electric motor boosted by a gasoline engine in this case, a 2.5-liter four-cylinder. With both motors working together, the output is 191 horsepower, driving the front wheels through a continuously variable automatic transmission.

Aside from the power train, the new Fusion Hybrid is virtually the same as a Fusion SEL, which is to say it's been substantially upgraded from the original model. The exterior styling has been freshened to improve aerodynamics and give the Fusion a wider look.

Most noticeable are the interior styling changes, with redesigned seats and extensive use of upscale soft-touch materials, which together fashion a substantial, near-luxury ambiance. The front seats are big, deep and supportive and the outboard back seats also offer decent comfort, though not an excess of knee or head room. The center-rear position is impossibly cramped.

On the road, the Fusion Hybrid is serenely quiet and the drive train is so sophisticated that it's difficult to discern when the gasoline engine kicks in and out. Handling is secure and the ride is comfortable.
