When I hear Zionism, I don't hear religion, it doesn't come to mind the thousands of innocent Arab children that Hamas has placed in the line of fire , to use as part of their propaganda machine against Israel., nor do I think of the Arabs who were given two promises in '48, one from Golda Meir that whoever stays in Israel will receive full rights, and whoever leaves forfeits them, or the promises from the Arab leaders around the world promising to "push the \Jews into the sea", encouraging all Muslim residents to leave, awaiting the anticipating victory.
What I do hear is, raising itself from the ashes of destruction, and building itself into the the only democracy in the Middle East amongst millions of hostile Muslims. Zionism has shown the creation of a country on barren lands, producing world famous produce. Zionism has invented some of the most advanced technologies today in medicine. Zionism has created the only place in the Middle East where any form of discrimination is banned, and all religions can practice freely. The Zionist army has created technology to send text messages to people letting them know that their homes are being used as missile launching pads, and it will be blown up warning the residents to leave. Zionism in 1981 chose to bomb the Iraqi nuclear reactor on a day that people should not be there to avoid harming anybody. Zionism is the future.

A Chareidi called a girl a 7 year old girl a "slut" for being immodestly attired, according to their standards.
A female soldier was called similar derogatory names for not moving to the back of a bus, that ran through a orthodox neighbourhood. As if that's not enough Chareidim in Meah Shearim protested last Saturday night wearing yellow stars, similar to those of what the Jews under Nazi occupation were forced to wear.
My take on this is that their behaviour is sickening. Israel is known to be the only democracy in the Middle East. The only country where religious fanaticism has not yet taken over the government. Although the problem has seen improvement, the chareidim unfortunately do not contribute anything to society, by not serving in the military, by receiving monthly stipends, and creating chaos and havoc every time they do not agree with a government policy.
A difference however should be in place for the dati soldiers who left a concert that had female singers, they did not make a scene and as far as I understand have their commanders prior to the event beginning.
Granted secular Israelis should give them a modicum of respect and avoid driving in religious neighbourhoods on Shabbat, but even if they do and the Charedim protest how does it make them different or any better then when Iran or Saudi Arabia kills someone for violating one of sharia laws? Truth there is no difference, religious fanaticism has always been a problem, with the Christian crusades and inquisition, to to-days Islamic terror.
I read in a article that Hilary Clinton condemned this behaviour and considered this to be official Israeli policy.
She is horribly mistaken. Maybe she is stating this from her utter failure to fault the Israeli government in her other ways.
Are all Chareidim like this? I doubt it. But even this minority is threatening democracies basic rights, of freedom.
Over here you will find winners and losers

Winners:

1) Gilad Shalit and family: Gilad goes home and his family will have succeeded in a very impressive media campaign that has lasted five years.

2) Hamas: They showed again that they are a force to be taken seriously. They also get many of the terrorists they want including those who are going back to Judea and Samaria.

3) Islamic terrorists: They proved to the world once again that the west is weak.

Losers:

1) Israeli government: They were simply outplayed by Hamas. No one should see this as a victory.

2) Israeli population: Most experts are predicting an increase in terror attacks in Israel due to the influx of dangerous terrorists throughout the country.

3) International law: Where were they on guaranteeing Gilad Shalit’s basic rights?

Somewhere in between:

1) Fatah: They do get some of their terrorists back, but key figure, Marwan Bargouti stays in jail. I think Hamas did this intentionally to keep Fatah down.

It seems to me that this whole process has been based on a false paradigm. Israel has thousands of Palestinians in its prisons. They are there for crimes ranging from entering Israel illegally to mass murder. Hamas has a total of one Israeli in captivity, yet somehow Hamas has the advantage. At the same time, Shalit has little value to the Israeli military. He is a simple gunner from a tank unit. He was not an officer and is not believed to have contained any top secret information. Israel has thousands of people who can replace him. Many of the terrorists in Israeli jails are crucial to the terror infrastructure and hard to replace. Never the less, on some level, Israel sees this trade of about 1,027 to 1 a deal worthwhile.

I know that this isn’t so simple. Israel has an obligation to bring every soldier home. It is for this reason they are accepting this deal. My problem with it rests in the fact that Israel is fulfilling its obligation out of weakness and not strength. If Israel really wanted Gilad Shalit home, there are at least four ways they could have done so without releasing a single terrorist. Please be advised that the first is the only conventional possibility. The others require brute force but I’m convinced could work:

1) A rescue operation. This option was officially tried once shortly after his capture in June 2006. Unofficially it was also probably attempted by Israeli Special Forces in Operation Cast Lead in 2008. My gut feeling is that no operation could have been successful. Hamas probably has him wearing explosives with armed guards around him 24/7 in a building rigged with explosives. In short, he would not live through any rescue attempt.

2) The first idea I thought of was to put the pressure on Hamas by attacking them relentlessly until Shalit is released. What Israel should have done the moment it was clear that he was kidnapped by Hamas was issue its own ultimatum. Hamas has 24 hours to release Shalit unconditionally or every target in Gaza is fair game. This would mean bombing the offices, homes, bases and police stations used by Hamas. Any site ever used to launch rockets into Israel should be destroyed. No ground forces would be sent in as to not risk Israeli lives. This would be an effort coordinated by the air force, navy and artillery corps. It wouldn’t take long for Hamas to get the message. Also, Israel must make it clear that if Shalit is killed, the attacks will become twice as deadly.

3) My next idea is similar to the one above. However, once Hamas issues an ultimatum to Israel of terrorists it wants released from prison, Israel should play hardball with Hamas. Being that there are hundreds if not thousands of Palestinian prisons with blood on their hands, they should become fair game. For every 24 hours Gilad Shalit is in captivity one of the terrorists would be executed. This principle would make any terrorist group think twice before kidnappings.

4) The final option is not my idea, but Eli Rapp’s proposal. Israel should take key Palestinian figures hostage in return and use them as a negotiating tool. This was done by Sayeret Matkal in Operation Crate 3 in 1972. After Israeli airmen were captured by Syria, Israel captured 5 Syrians officers and used them as a trading chip. This worked and I believe could work today.

All of these four options require chutzpah. This is something not seen by the Israel army since July 4, 1976 when they liberated the hostages in Entebbe. None of these are four options are simple, but they all send a message to Hamas they we will beat you at your own game. Unfortunately for all of us living in Israel, the government has chosen to bring our dear Gilad home the wrong way. My fear is that we will all pay the price for this decision.

Most people will say the one big pro is that the Palestinians will finally get their homeland back. But from one of my earlier articles we already know that Palestine as a independent country never existed. That the Israelis will stop harassing them, whatever goes on there now anyway wont change, even if they were to get all their votes ect. Anything else?
Cons: We already have seen what happened after Arafat came back after signing the infamous Oslo accords, the financial situation got much worse. Another con, a official in the PA just announced that "Palestine" will be judenrein, clean of all jews. At least in Israel Arabs have full and equal rights, but not in Palestine. Most probably crime and terror will rise being that even today its the Israeli forces that clean up the messes there not the PA police force.
Since when does a country apologize for killing a enemy combatant? Oh and yes they were armed on the ship. Stop criticizing Israel for political problems when you have REAL problems out there like Syria, Iran, and Libya. How is it people can protest in Israel and there will be a minimal amount of police and anywhere else in the ME the whole army will come out and blow people to pieces. How is the world concentrating only on Israel?
Turkey has chosen to come closer to the likes of the Muslim brotherhood. The Turkish flag was placed on a ship belonging to a group which is known for its ties to terror. Yes that should be condemned. If Israel's target was to kill everyone on the ship then that's what would have happened.
WAKE UP AMERICA if Clinton is demanding Israel apologize today to turkey tomorrow it will be to the families of the terrorists killed in Afghanistan.

The truth is that you dont need to hand deliver your aid to the Gazans as Israel already said they will do it after it is searched, which is legitimate considering every country checks everything that enters its country and Israel is no different. So what is the point?
Do you really think Israel would allow your boats to go in unchecked previous "aid" boats contained weapons. Last year "peaceful" activists attacked soldiers who their primary weapon were paintball guns. Hah people who avoid violence at any costs.
This year Israel was sooper careful and with the help of the Greek government stop many boats from even leaving the port to prevent any violence from reoccurring.
So what do these geniuses do? Make a fly in. I mean and that will help the people of Gaza how exactly? And then they complain about Israel not being a democracy. You want to know who is not a democracy? Go to Syria They will let you in, but you will never get out.
Learn who the real bad people are stop the Jew hating it wont get you anywhere. The gazans will be in Gaza as long as Hamas is still in power and anybody with a half a brain understands why.

Any half intelligent person who looks at what is going on will understand that Fatah, Hamas, and Hezbollah are terrorist organizations. Not freedom fighters. Not people who care about human rights. Fatah a.k.a. the PA kills people suspected of collaborating with Israel and those who dont follow Islamic law. Hamas period is infamously known for hiding behind children, in mosques, and hospitals. And your best friend Hezbollah attacks Israel kidnaps its soldiers kills them in captivity, and you have a problem with Israel. Norman you havent fooled anybody in your hour that you desperately need attention you've turned to your peoples enemies making you a traitor.

Gideon Levy: You write interesting articles for Haaretz. however how dare you criticize Israel for putting up a fence which has proven to stop almost all terrorist attacks originating from the west bank? How dare you tell Israel to allow a flotilla which is only to harm Israels security through (oh ya they proudly announced that)?

Yay for your army service you served as a reporter and then worked for arch traitor Shimon Peres. Dont ever criticize a Israeli combat soldier especially since you obviously have no idea of how much they are told to treat every Palestinanian respectfully.

Jimmy Carter: A few words to you, you orchestrated the sinai peace treaty you had better stand with Israel now and not tell everybody Israel isnt serious in peace when it is clearly Egypt that wants to back out. And if you cared so much about human rights get Gilad Shalit his basic rights.

TBC.......

Now people in America tend to think and question "is it really all worth it, Its just a piece of miserable land just give it to the Palestinians and everybody will be happy. After all its their land. Correction, it is not their land, and yes it is worth holding on to. First of all Israel came into possession of this land in 1967 after Jordan along with Egypt and Syria threatened to wipe Israel off the face of the earth (which I would assume is illegal). Second according to international law the status of the west bank is that of "disputed territories" which makes a presence legal. And if Israel did leave the west bank who would take over there? Abbas. And we all know what happened when Arafat came to Gaza, terror shot up, crime shot up. and the economy over there collapsed and as a result Israel has to be more careful of who comes in and go out which frustrates the Palestinians who either blow themselves up or complain to the UN.
So for the sake of the safety of the Israeli people and to save the Palestinians some frustration Israel should stay in the disputed territories.
And if the head of Hamas or Fatah doesn't like it he is always welcome to the caves of Afganistan thats where uncivilized human beings usually crash.
Now if you think about then Israel was being shelled daily by the Syrians from the Golan Heights, if that was then now that they are killing their own citizens in the light of day, and being criticized by even some of their arab brothers then what do u think they would do to legitimize themselves to those same Arab countries? My first guess would be to once again bombard Israel something similar to what they have done on Israels 63rd independence by sending busloads of Syrians to invade Israel.
Next Egypt. Before the '67 war Israel was in constant threat of fedayeen coming in from the Sinai desert. Even though now they are officially at peace now with the Muslim Brotherhood in charge, and the opening of the rafah crossing it would be more difficult for Israel to control and prevent weapons smuggling and the al qaeda terrorists from entering Gaza and Israel.

Now Jordan has a long border with Israel. And back in the day that border was used as a terror base for Arafats gang of hooligans although he is no longer around losing that spot could once again open a border for Abbas and his hooligans who Israel wont speak too, simply because he made a pact with the devil (hamas) and when that breaks down (watch it will) they will need a new base outside Israel to continue their develish work.

So where is the common sense for Israel to even consider this? However I get a different picture then what you may read. As a known fact they have been extremely anti Israel ever since it was founded.
More recently as a example the Fogels, a familly living in the West Bank settlement of Itamar were brutally killed in their beds by terrorists, or how about the thousands of rockets shot in by hamas. Condemnation by the UN did not come at all. But we see when Israel God forbid touches a terrorist or builds a caravan on some isolated hilltop the UN reacts as if Israel is about to begin a third world war.

Several months ago Canada was refused a seat on the security council because a day earlier the prime minister said his country would always stand behind Israel. Guess who is there now, its Libya a country which is bombing its own citizens because they went out to protest for basic human rights. Wow they really picked the right country for that one.

Anyway a solution to this UN problem something I have heard before is to abolish the group. Simple just like that. Let these people mind their own bussiness , leave Israel alone, let people just live their lives the way they want to, and for sure stop the silly resolution which pretty much no one anyway follows.

Have a good day

Define this word. Major peace advocates claim all they want is peace that the Israelis and Palestinians can either live as neighbors or that the Palestinians should have their own state in the west bank and Gaza. But we must ask are they really only out for peace? There are videos showing these "peace activists" using violence against settlers. Many of these people are convicted criminals. Are they even thinking logically thinking about the ramifications of giving the Palestinians their own country? Hamas's charter is to destroy Israel,US, and any other democratic state. Arafat after signing the peace deals with the Israelis immediately returned to violence, so can we really believe the sincerity of the Palestinian claims of peace?
Another very anti Israeli claim is the famous wall which Arabs, peace activists, and international activists come to protest every week. Before the wall was built suicide bombings were at its peak BOOM Israel built the wall the amount of terror attacks dropped. Now why in in Gods name would Israel not want the wall there. Also checkpoints every time Israel shows a gesture of kindness and removes one the Arabs return the favor by doing a terrorist attack.

Last June Israel attacked a Turkish ship carrying supplies for Gaza. Ok i'll be honest I didn't inspect the ship and i dont know what was on it but if you will refuse to have it checked out first it indeed becomes sketchy and Israel had no choice but to board the ship with their primary weapons being paint ball guns. As the first soldier descended he was attacked physically by having his stomach cut open and being thrown three stories down.so much for people seeking peace.

Everybody seeks peace but at what cost? Think logically do we give into every whim the Arabs request or do we act responsibly within the confines of respecting our Arab residents with the utmost respect and the minimum hassle?

I know for a fact what these peace activists say is exaggerated big time and if you let Israel run the show every will be just happy. they will not arrest you if you did nothing wrong and will not shoot at you because you were minding your own business.

Ok now in order to justify that claim show the world your history in this land. Show us kings, maps, currency, or a Constitution. I dont believe there is any of those things. Arafat himself is not from that area but instead from Egypt. So what legal claim could they possibly have? The Jews on the other hand always kept Jews inside Israel since their expulsion by the Romans and have proof like the kotel, ancient graves etc. things which the waqf on the temple mount is continuously trying to destroy.
Next point the Arabs claim they were chased away from Israel in 1948. Lets now look at the facts, six Arab armies attacked a tiny undeveloped country. The Jewish government promised all Arabs that if they chose to stay they would be considered full citizens, but those who left would be forever banned from returning, the Arab governments promised that if they left they would soon return as the victors. now 65 years later the Arabs who left on their own will have to live in refugee camps the oil rich Arab states still yell at Israel, the question is why dont they help their brethren by bringing them over to their countries after all arent they the ones that screwed them over?

What do you think?
