What makes Organic Make Up Better?

Most organic make up producers take special pride in providing you with organically-based cosmetics produced using the

testing or other cruelty to animals in the making of their products. All fragrances are natural and all essential oils come
from natural sources. Special attention is made to make sure there are no pesticide residues in any of their organic products.
Essential oils are extracted from bark, roots, flowers, stems and leaves of organic plant sources. They are cold pressed or
steam distilled to keep the oil fresh and not degraded. Essential oils are used as organic make up preservatives, fragrances
and to create a certain texture. Only small amounts of essential oils are used to protect sensitive skin.
In some cases, organic make up can contain iron oxides and titanium dioxide that are processed synthetically but exist in

Decorating your Gift Basket

Gift baskets are one of the ways to make your loved ones feel special and if you have ever had the opportunity to make a gift basket of all your own then chances are that you know how special it can feel to do so. Perhaps the main reason that you feel proud about the gift basket that you are about to give to your family or friend is because you have spent countless hours putting together something that will be appreciated for a long time! For starters, wrapping cellophane paper around the outside of the basket and everything that is contained inside is the best thing that anyone could do for a gift basket. Considering the fact that cellophane paper is just about the only way that gift baskets are ever wrapped you will probably be hard pressed to find anything else. Of course you can always use another type of shrink wrap paper underneath the cellophane plastic outer wrapping, but this is only usually done if the gift basket is filled with fruits or other awkward gifts.

The outside wrapping of the gift basket, though, is just the start of decorating the outside of the gift basket. There are so many other things that one can do in order to make the outside look pretty and creative. For starters, curling ribbons and taping them on the outside of the cellophane paper or other outer wrapping will add a creative and beautiful decoration to the outside of the gift basket. There are plenty of colors in which ribbons can be purchased as well so making good use of colors is also another tip if ribbons are going to be taped to the gift basket.

Of course you also don't want to forget about the loose ends of the wrapping paper, either. The top of the gift basket will more than likely need to be tied somehow and this is where some other use of the ribbons can be used. One suggestion that you have is to simply tie a small bow around the top of the cellophane or other wrapping paper of the gift basket, but another interesting thing to do would be to make the ribbon a very long one. You can either be creative and wrap it multiple times around the base of the gift basket or you can do another creative thing by attaching a helium balloon to the top of the gift basket as well!

One also doesn't want to forget about the gift tag that should go on a gift basket, either. Making sure that the recipient knows who the gift basket is from is very crucial. One can either by plain gift tags or they can even make their own at home! Altogether, though, all of these things are great suggestions if wanting to make the most out of decorating a gift basket!

Without various scents, and now almost can not imagine life. Few people, both women and men who do not use at least one odor. But there are those who are true collectors, and they have dozens.
Many think that the smells come from the Middle Ages, when they were massively used for the concealment of other scents. But their history starts much, much earlier.

Perfumes respectively. scents have been used in ancient China, Palestine and Egypt - were part of daily religious rituals. Distillation of essential oils and the use of aromatics progressed in the Far East as well. Like the Christian Gnostics, Chinese Taoists believed that extraction of a plant's fragrance represented the liberation of its soul. Like the Greeks, the Chinese used one word to represent perfume, incense and fragrance. That word was heang. Heang was divided into six aesthetic moods: Tranquil, reclusive, luxurious, beautiful, refined or noble. (Keville, Green) The Chinese upper classes made lavish use of fragrance during the T'ang dynasties that began in the 7th century AD and continued until the end of the Ming dynasty in the 17th century. Their bodies, baths, clothing, homes and temples were all richly scented, as was ink, paper, cosmetics and sachets tucked into their garments. The ribs of fans were carved from fragrant sandalwood. Huge, fragrant statues of Buddha were carved from camphor wood. Spectators at dances and other ceremonies could expect to be pelted with perfumed sachets. China imported jasmine-scented sesame oil from India, Persian rosewater via the silk route and, eventually, Indonesian aromatics-cloves, gum benzoin, ginger, nutmeg and patchouli-through India. (Keville, Green) The famous Materia Medica Pen Ts'ao was published in China during the 16th century. It discusses almost 2,000 herbs and contains a separate section on 20 essential oils. Jasmine was used as a general tonic; rose improved digestion, liver and blood; chamomile reduced headaches, dizziness and colds; ginger treated coughs and malaria. (Keville, Green)
It was the Japanese who turned the use of incense into an art, even though incense didn't arrive in Japan until around 500 AD. By that time, the Japanese had perfected an effective distillation process. By the 4th to 6th century, incense pastes of powdered herbs mixed with plum pulp, seaweed, charcoal and salt were pressed into cones, spirals or letters, then burned on beds of ashes. Special schools still teach the ancient art of kodo [perfumery]. Students learned how to burn incense ceremonially and perform story dances for incense-burning rituals. (Keville, Green) From the Nara through the Kamakura Periods (710-1333), small lacquer cases containing perfumes hung from a clasp on the kimono. The container for today's ‘Opium’ brand perfume was inspired by one of these. An incense-stick clock changed its scent as time passed, but also dropped a brass ball in case no one was paying attention. A more sophisticated clock announced the time according to the chimney from which the fragrant smoke issued. Geisha girls calculated the cost of their services according to how many sticks of incense had been consumed.

By about 300 BC, myrrh and frankincense from Yemen reached the Mediterranean by way of Persian traders. The trade routes swelled as the demand for roses, sweet flag, orris root, narcissus, saffron, mastic, oak moss, cinnamon, cardamom, pepper, nutmeg, ginger, costus, spikenard, aloewood, grasses and gum resins increased. (Keville, Green) Iraqi men and women painted their faces with kohl just like the Egyptians did. This was to protect them from the ‘evil eye.’ After the defeat of the Greeks by the Romans, the original Egyptian intention suffered its final bastardization beyond any reasonable recovery. The Romans were unabashedly hedonistic; Egyptian oils that were once used for sacred purposes became nothing more than sexual accoutrements in Rome. There was some dignity amended when the Romans discovered medicinal applications as well. Plagues were so rampant throughout Rome, that aromatic gums and resins were burned to repel demons and bad spirits. (Rady) It was the Romans who gave us the actual word perfume and the rest of the surviving vernacular used today. "Per" is Latin for ‘through,’ and "fumum" means ‘smoke;’ the release of aromatic material through burning. Combine the act of burning incense with prayer (the closest they came to spirituality) and the gods in charge of disease (and other problems) were considered appeased. (Rady)
The Roman ‘down to Earth’ mentality did not embrace Greek complexity, much less Egyptian perfumery with its spiritual ramifications. The Greeks did not honor Egyptian spiritual intentions with regard to oils and perfumery and the Romans are almost completely out of context with the ‘preserving’ sentiment. In Egypt, magic, religion, medicine, pharmacology, cosmetics, and chemistry was combined into one science. This once integrated system evolved into separated, independent, totally unrelated sciences by the time Rome came into power. Rome oversimplified to the point of abuse and used oils so heavily that it caused serious financial problems. When Rome became Christianized, the new priesthood perceived the unbridled indulgence in sex, and the waste of money, as a main source of sin. (Rady) By 1 AD, Rome was going through approximately 2,800 tons of imported frankincense and 550 tons of myrrh per year. In 54 AD, Emperor Nero spent the equivalent of $100,000 just to scent just one party. He had carved ivory ceilings in his dining rooms that were fitted with concealed pipes that sprayed down mists of fragrant waters on guests below. He had panels that slid to one side, to shower guests with fresh rose petals. One unfortunate guest was asphyxiated by a dense rose-petal cloud. (Keville, Green)
Perfume merchants were afforded the same status as doctors and the citizenry referred to their sweethearts as "my myrrh" and "my cinnamon," in much the same way that we say "honey" and "sweetie pie" today (Keville, Green) Rome was in power during the biblical New Testament. One passage of scripture refers to the frankincense and myrrh that was brought to the Christ child as having greater value than gold. Another biblical episode describes Judas Iscariot complaining about Mary Magdalene's anointing of Christ's feet with a costly spikenard. Although Rome was in power, the Greek civilization had not yet demised. The Greek word for Christ, ‘Christos,’ means "anointed," from the Greek word ‘chriein,’ "to anoint." (Keville, Green) Citizens of both Roman and Greek cultures are prominently featured in the New Testament. Gnostic Christians from the 1st through the 4th century AD, held fragrance in high regard because their beliefs were deeply rooted in Egyptian philosophy: They sought release from the limitations of the material world and embraced the symbology of essential oils, that represent the plant’s soul. GREECE
In Greece, precious oils, perfumes, cosmetic powders, eye shadows, skin glosses, paints, beauty unguents, and hair dyes were in universal use. Export and sale of these items formed an important part of trade around the Mediterranean. During the 8th and 7th centuries BC, Corinthian, Rhodian and East Greek traders dominated markets in perfume flasks and cosmetic containers. The containers included aryballoi, alabastra, pyxides and other small specialized shapes. Cosmetic unguents were imported into Greece in containers carved from the Red Sea Tridacna shell. In the 6th and 5th centuries, Attic products stole the market with toilet oil dispensed in lekythoi flasks. Bulk storage containers for scented oils and perfumes was called a pelike. Pelikes were initially designed to withstand the constant handling and rigors of sea transportation while protecting the contents and maximizing cargo space. As commerce expanded and packaging design became more influential, manufacturers improved packaging to attract consumers. During the Classical period, pelike packaging in terracotta aryballoi and alabastra retailed at a premium. Simultaneously, cored-glass vessels began to appear in shapes adapted from terracotta containers. (University of Pennsylvania #1)
The Greeks invaded Egypt aware of the Egyptian mystification of oils but were interested mainly in the medical knowledge rather than the entire Egyptian spiritual epistemology. With 3,000 years worth of perfumery development under their belts, Egyptian priests were unwilling to divulge the spiritual intrigue of Egyptian oils. Under pressure from Alexander the Great, the priests released disinformation and half-truths to prevent the knowledge from falling into the hands of the inept. (Rady) Greek sexual indulgence was deplorable to the Egyptians. From an Egyptian perspective, the Greeks wanted the oils for sexual practices, cosmetics, incense and medicines. One severe area of contention involved kyphi. Kyphi was created for the most sacred of purposes and the Greeks used it as an aphrodisiac. (Rady) The Greeks were given to simplify things and the Romans took ‘simplification’ a step further. (Rady) From this point forward, the original intention of Egyptian oil loses focus and becomes clouded.
By the 7th century BC, Athens had developed into a mercantile center in which hundreds of perfumers set up shop. Trade was heavy in fragrant herbs such as marjoram, lily, thyme, sage, anise, rose and iris, infused into olive, almond, castor and linseed oils to make thick unguents. These were sold in small, elaborately decorated ceramic pots, similar to the smaller jars still sold in Athens today. (Keville, Green) Socrates disapproved of perfume. He believed that it might blur the distinction between slaves (who smelled bad) and free men (who didn’t).
When Alexander the Great entered the tent of defeated King Darius after the battle of Issos, Alexander threw out the king's box of priceless ointments and perfumes. Ironically, after Alexander traveled extensively in Asia, he became so addicted to aromatics that he burned an Arabian incense by his throne constantly. He sent plant cuttings to his Athenian classmate in Athens from everywhere he traveled. His classmate used the cuttings to establish a botanical garden in Athens. (Keville, Green)

As early as 10,000 BCE, men and women used scented oils and ointments to clean and soften their skin and mask body odor. Dyes and paints were used to color the skin, body and hair. They rouged their lips and cheeks, stained their nails with henna, and lined their eyes and eyebrows heavily with kohl. Kohl was a dark-colored powder made of crushed antimony, burnt almonds, lead, oxidized copper, ochre, ash, malachite, chrysocolla (a blue-green copper ore) or any combination thereof. (Cohen) It was applied with a small stick. The upper and lower eyelids were painted in a line that extended to the sides of the face for an almond effect. In addition to reducing sun glare, it was believed that kohl eyeliner could restore poor eyesight and reduce eye infection. (ED 370) Kohl was kept in a small, flat-bottomed pot with a wide, tiny rim and a flat, disk-shaped lid. (Carnegie Museum)
Cosmetics were an inherent part of Egyptian hygiene and health. Oils and creams were used for protection against the hot Egyptian sun and dry winds. Myrrh, thyme, marjoram, chamomile, lavender, lily, peppermint, rosemary, cedar, rose, aloe, olive oil, sesame oil and almond oil provided the basic ingredients of most perfumes that were used in religious ritual and embalming the dead (Cohen) For lips, cheeks and nails, a clay called red ochre was ground and mixed with water. Henna was used to dye fingernails yellow or orange. Makeup was stored in special jars that were kept in special makeup boxes. Women would carry their makeup boxes to parties and keep them under their chairs. (ED 370) Although men also wore makeup, they did not carry their makeup kits with them. (Brand)
The ancient Egyptians took great pride in their appearance and cleanliness. Most Egyptians bathed daily in the river or out of a water basin at home. Wealthy homes had a bathroom where servants would pour jugs of water over their master (equivalent to a modern day shower). The runoff was drained through a pipe to water the garden. A cleansing cream made of animal or vegetable oil mixed with powered lime and perfume was used instead of soap. (Rigby) People rubbed themselves daily with a perfumed unguent oil that had soaked in scented wood. The mixture was left in a pot until the oil absorbed the wood scent. Perfumed oil was used to prevent the skin from drying out in the harsh climate. At parties, servants would place a cone of perfumed grease on the head of each guests. The grease had a cooling effect as it melted and ran down the faces of each guest. Everyone, regardless of age or gender wore makeup. Highly polished silver and copper mirrors aided the application of makeup. (Rigby, Brand)

Some hairstyles were very similar to that of todays. The common folk wore their hair short. Young girls usually kept their hair in pigtails while boys had shaved heads with one braided lock worn to one side. (ED 370) Egyptian men shaved their head in order to avoid getting lice. (PSU) Wigs made of sheep’s wool or human hair were worn by men and women to parties, official functions and for protection from heat. A hairpiece might be used to enhance real hair. When not in use, wigs were stored in special boxes that were displayed on a stand at home. (ED 370) To preserve hair from the effects of sun,
it
was treated with a moisturizing cream in the shape of a cosmetic cone. Evidence comes from sculptures, reliefs and paintings from the New Kingdom. The cone would gradually melt and give the wig a pleasant fragrance. (Rigby)
Because jewelry has been inherently connected to cosmetics, makeup and apparel, some abridgment is necessary. Everyone in Egypt wore some type of jewelry to include children. Because the Egyptians were very superstitious, rings and amulets were worn to ward off the evil spirits and injury. (Carnegie Museum) Both men and women wore pierced earrings, armlets, bracelets, anklets and beaded necklaces. The wealthy wore jeweled or beaded collars, necklaces, and pendants made of gold, silver, or electrum (gold mixed with silver) and inlaid with semi-precious stones of turquoise, lapis lazuli (a deep blue stone), and carnelian (a copper or reddish orange stone). The peasants wore jewelry crafted from copper, wood, leather, metal or faience, a gem made by heating powdered quartz. Clothes were made of linens ranging from coarse to fine texture. During the Old and Middle kingdoms, men wore a short skirt called a kilt. Women wore a straight fitting dress held up by straps. The wealthy men wore pleated kilts, and older men wore a longer kilt. When doing hard work, men wore a loin cloth, and women wore a short skirt. Children ran around nude during the summer months and wore wraps and cloaks during the winter. Noblewomen wore beaded dresses. (ED 370) The upper class and royal family dressed like the lower classes, but added elegant accessories and dyed the fringes of their clothes. (Brand) Kings and Queens wore decorative ceremonial clothing fitted with feathers and sequins. Most people went barefoot, but wore sandals on special occasions. The king wore very elaborately decorated sandals, and sometimes decorative gloves on his hands. Clothing styles were chosen for comfort in a hot, dry climate. Anyone who worked for a Pharaoh had to be ritually pure and have fresh breath. Breath was freshened by chewing on pellets made of ground tamarisk leaves -- there is no evidence of toothbrushes or toothpaste. Bad breath and bad body odor was grounds for shame. (Brand) Beautiful smells were essential to the Egyptian belief that ‘cleanliness is godliness.’ Egyptians had learned how to distill essential oils thousands of years ago. (Brand) The Egyptian science of perfumery eroded over the centuries "until its final rupture in the Middle Ages." (Rady) Because "Smell" was incomprehensibly fundamental in Egyptian society, perfumery began as a secret art in Egypt that was perfected by 2,500 BC. It was practiced by the priesthood in the temple of Denderah where pharmaceutical products were made. (Rady) One of the temple walls shows a method of oil extraction and distillation that is still used by Egyptian farmers today. (Rady) The function of perfumery was to achieve spiritual rather than physical perfection by perfecting the physical, emotional and mental aspects of Human existence. (Rady) Perfumes made the body function perfectly. Ra, the sun god, was the source of all smell. Under Egyptian belief, "to smell beautifully was a sign of holiness," and ONLY perfect-smelling persons would be received by the gods when they died. (Rady) Egypt was deeply driven by spiritual concerns and virtually everything invented had a spiritual application, e.g., the science of mummification was the immediate beneficiary of perfumery.
Cedar Oil was considered the most sacred of all the distilled oils and the principle oil used in mummification. (Rady) Egyptian priests discovered the true power of oils and believed that certain types of perfumes could add to one’s personal power. Since the neighboring civilizations were perceived as primitive, hostile, morally corrupt, spiritually inept, lacking the maturity, evolution or self-control to use oils, the priests did not want them to have their knowledge. (Rady) It was believed that the spiritual essence of plants had healing qualities and supernatural power; the embodiment of the plant’s healing spirit, rather than the plant’s chemistry made the extraction process and the oil sacred. (Rady) The seven sacred oils used for mummification were: The Festival Perfume, Hekenu, The Syrian Balsam, Nechenem, Anointing Oil, The Best Cedar Oil and The Best Libyan Oil. These oils also formed the foundation of ritual Egyptian magic. (Rady) The most famous Egyptian fragrance, kyphi, meaning "welcome to the gods", was said to induce hypnotic states. The City of the Sun, Heliopolis, burned resins in the morning, myrrh at noon and kyphi at sunset to the sun god, Ra. Aside from religious use, kyphi could lull one to sleep, alleviate anxieties, increase dreaming, eliminate sorrow, treat asthma and act as a general antidote for toxins. One recorded recipe includes a heady blend of calamus, henna, spikenard, frankincense, myrrh, cinnamon, cypress and terebinth (pistachio resin), and other ingredients. The ingredients were also mixed and matched for variety. Cubes of incense was prepared by mixing ground gums and plants with honey; a similar technique used by the Babylonians that the Greeks and Romans adopted. (Keville, Green)
Commensurate with Egyptian practices are the traditions of neighboring countries that developed similarly: Women in India did not use soap either but instead used a turmeric germicidal cream treatment composed of gramflour or wheat husk mixed with milk. The wheat husk would remove dead cell tissue. The ancient Hebrews employed fragrance to consecrate their temples, altars, candles and priests. The book of Exodus (approximately 1,200 BC) provides a recipe for the Holy anointing oil given to Moses for the initiation of priests. It contains: Myrrh, cinnamon and calamus mixed with olive oil. Although the Mosaic Law decreed severe punishment to anyone who used Holy oils or incense in a secular fashion, some aromatics were less restricted. "A bundle of myrrh is my beloved unto me; he shall lie all night between my breasts. My beloved is unto me as a cluster of camphire [henna] in the vineyards of En-gedi." (Keville, Green)
By the late 5th century, Babylon was the principal market for the perfume trade. The Babylonians used cedar of Lebanon, cypress, pine, fir resin, myrtle, calamus and juniper extensively. ISTORIJAT KOZMETIKE

Egipat (4000 godina pre nove ere). Prvi arheološki dokaz kozmetikenalazimo u drevnom Egiptu. U to vreme su žene robovlasnika stavljale svetlo zelenu pastu od bakarnih minerala na lice, da bi obezbedile boju i definiciju crta lica. One su koristile mirisna ulja i bojile svoje obrve kremom sačinjenom od ovčjeg loja, olova i čadji. Možemo zaključiti - koristile su mirisna ulja zbog šminke za lice…
Azija(1500 godina pre nove ere). U Kini i Japanu je za bojenje lica u belo korišćen puder od pirinča. Obrve su brijane i čupane, a zubi bojeni zlatno ili crno; kanom je bojena kosa i lice.
Drugim rečima, tinejdžeri su izgledali tačno onako kako i danas izgledaju.

Grčka(1000 godina pre nove ere). Pripadnici vladajuće klase su nosili perike. Ovo se odnosilo na oba pola. Opet, svi su želeli da istaknu belilo dobijeno stavljanjem krede ili olovnog pudera za lice. (Nema izveštaja o opsegu trovanja olovom u antičkoj Grčkoj).
Kada su žene želele “malo boje”, birale su oker glinu pomešanu sa crvenim gvoždjem kao ruž za usne. Premazivale su dlanove crvenkastom kanom, verovatno da bi izgledale mlađe.

Rim(100 godina p.n.e). Platus je pisao ” žena bez šminke je kao hrana bez soli”.
Ovi super-civilizovani preci, stavljali su ječmeno brašno i maslac na svoje bubuljice, i ovčji loj i krv na nokte radi sjaja. Njjihov krunski doprinos kozmetici bio je praktikovanje blatnih kupki sa dodatkom krokodilskog izmeta, za ko bi znao koju svrhu.
Muškarci su često bojili svoju kosu u plavo, verovatno da bi izgledali kao mladić u reklami za Dell kompjutere. Od prakse bojenja kose medju muškarcima i ženama se odustalo, jer je boja bila prepuna sode što je izazivalo da postojeća kosa opada. Imali su specijalno određene robove koji su se bavili nanošenjem kozmetike (prakozmetičare?) .

14. vek. O kozmetici je vladalo mišljenje da je opasna po zdravlje, zato što su smatrali da bi poremetila odgovarajuću cirkulaciju. U Elizabetanskoj Engleskoj, u modi je bila crveno obojena kosa. Dobrostojeće žene su stavljale belance na lice da bi stvorile belje lice, i spavale sa parčadima sirove govedine na licu, kako bi se oslobodile bora.
Jedan engleski pozorišni pisac napisao nešto tim povodom - ” Lepa žena je kao delkates”.

15. -16. vek. U Evropi, kozmetiku je koristila samo aristokratija. Italija i Francusa su bile centri proizvodnje kozmetike. Francuzi su usavršili umetnost kreacije novih mirisa i kozmetike, mešanjem sastojaka. Taj radni proces doveo je začetke moderne kozmetike. Međutim često je proces krenuo drugim putem pa je dolazilo i do ubistva. Naime, umesto olova (koje ih je trovalo postepeno) u puder za lice je ponekad stavljan arsenik, jednostavno da brže ubije onoga ko ga nosi.

17. i 18. vek. Kozmetika je sada u opštoj upotrebi, osim za najsiromašnije slojeve stanovništva. Crveni ruž je intezivno upotrebljavan da sugeriše zdravlje, bogatstvo i dobro raspoloženje.

19. vek. Ponovo Francuzi. Oni su razvili hemijske procese kojima su zamenjivali parfeme dobijene prirodnim metodama. Cink oksid postaje široko korišćen puder za lice, zamenjujući smrtonosne mešavine olova i bakra koji su ranije korišćeni.
Druge otrovne supstance se još uvek koriste u senkama za oči, ruževima… Hej, važno je dobro izgledati!

1920. vek u Americi. Manufakturna proizvodnja parfema i kozmetike dovodi do masovnog tržišta.
Bilo je u redu da žene odbace viktorijanski izgled, da se doteruju i koriste kozmetiku, zato što je takvo ponašanje obezbeđivalo profit i donosilo novac proizvođačima. Masovna pojava i tržište za kozmetiku, obezbedjeno je pojavom lanca radnji.

1927. Pronadjen je način da se kosa učini trajno talasastom, što je dovelo do toga da mnoge žene imaju “prirodno” kovrdžavu kosu.
1930. Filmske zvezde počinju da utiču na stil i korišćenje šminke.
Konačno je bledilo lica zamenjeno holivudskim potamnjenim tenom.
Maks Faktor je predstavio novi izgled neophodan i proistekao iz filmskih potreba.
1950. Počela je moderna era biznisa zvanog kozmetika, onakvog kakvim ga mi danas znamo. Puderi za lice, šminka, ulja za potamnjivanje kože i parfemi,masovno su izbacivani na tržište esencijalno novom društvu nakon Drugog svetskog rata (društvu koje je bilo umorno od oskudice).
Popularni sponzori radio sapunskih opera, prebacuju svoje reklame na novi medij - TV.
1960. Ovo je veme promena u industriji parfema, promena koje nisu uvek išle ka boljem.
Vraćaju se u modu ljubičaste usne i ajlajner Egipćanki, leptiri su slikani na bukvalno svakom delu tela. Ne zaboravimo lažne trepavice za oči. Pojedini biljni sastojci bivaju korišćeni za prozivodnju (šargarepa, krastavac, lubenica), kombinovani da stvore povratak prirodnom izgledu, mirisu i stavu.
1970. Izvesni sastojci su izbačeni iz upotrebe u proizvodnji kozmetikeda bi se zastitile ugrožene vrste(korišćene kao labaratorijske opitne životinje).
Pojavljuju se pitanja kao što su : ” Šta ste uradili sirotim stenicama i zekama da bi dobili dozvolu za proizvodnju ovih produkata? Šta se nalazi u njima, koje dejstvo ima, odakle dolazi?

1980. Ključna reč- raznolikost. Nov izgled, kozmetika i relamiranje lepote zajednički stvaraju industriju enormnih razmera od preko $20 milijardi godišnje. Svakog dana smo svesni kozmetike, parfema, proizvoda za kožu i kosu budući da se na nas vrši masovni pritisak reklamama u štampi i na televiziji.

Sada se okrećemo Internetu. Nekada se moralo otići do cvećare da bi se kupilo cveće, do prodavnice knjiga da bi se ista kupila, do apateke po lekove… Sada se na Internetu prodaje na stotine proizvoda svakog trenutka, koje ranije nikada ne bi kupovali bez lične konsultacije sa prodavcima. Isto je i sa kozmetikom. Ni jedan prodavac nije u stanju da u isto vreme ima sve proizvode na zalihama. Ima sve više proizvoda, marki, sve više reklama, i sve više zahteva. Internet prodaja postaje ključna. Kupac može da kupi virtuelno bilo koji produkt (da izabere stil, boju, veličinu, proizvođača, cenu; i dobije robu u roku od 24 časa.
To zahteva mnogo manje vremena od onog koje je potrebno kupcu da ode do lokalnih radnji. Ista je situacija i sa svim vrstama servisa. Sve više kozmetičkih salona upoznaje klijente sa svojim uslugama putem internata.

OPSTI SAVETI,Nege Lica

Uvek koristite proverenu kozmetiku, napravljenu od poznatih proizvodjaca. Izbegavajte da koristite jeftinu kozmetiku nepoznatih marki. Veliki proizvodjaci imaju svoje razvojne timove i svaki proizvod se pazljivo testira i ispituje. Oni nece sebi dozvoliti luksuz da naprave los proizvod jer ce to uticati na njihov imidz i dalju prodaju.
Postoje 4 tipa koze lica i to: normalna, suva, masna i mesovita. Zavisno od tipa koze, nega se razlikuje. Svaki kozmeticar ce pravilno odrediti Vas tip koze i nacin nege.
Pravilna nega koze zavisi od 4 faktora i to od tipa koze, godisnjeg doba, starosti osobe i pola. Pored ovih, moramo poznavati kozmeticke preparate i nacin njihovog delovanja. Zbog toga se uvek preporucuje savetovanje sa kozmeticarem oko nacina nege.
Nega je polovina lepote. Zapostavite negu i to ce Vam se vratiti kao bumerang u vidu bora i akni.
Ukoliko Vam je koza lica osetljiva, koristite blage kozmeticke preparate. Na trzistu postoje preparati koji su specijalno napravljeni za osetljivu kozu. Ono sto ih razlikuje od drugih preparate je sto sadrza manji procenat konzervanasa.
Postoje dva tipa krema i to dnevne i nocne. Dnevne su vise hidrantnije i njih lice upija mimikom, nocne su "teze", obzirom da sadrze veci broj aktivnih materija. One se koriste kod slabije cirkulacije kako bi aktivni sastojci kreme ishranile kozu. U nezi koze, koriste se i dnevna i nozna krema.
Stavljanje kreme na lice podrazumeva da je ono prethodno ocisceno od necistoca i sminke.
Ne preterujte sa stavljanjem kreme na lice. Visak ce samo zapustiti pore na licu. Ukoliko ste preterali sa nanosenjem, vatom odstranite visak.
Stres nepovljno uticena ceo organizam kao i na kozu obzirom da dolazi do poremecaja cirkulacije u organizmu i poremecaja nivoa hormona sto se i te kako odrazava na kozu. Nemojte se iznenaditi ukoliko vam se zbog stresa pojave akne.

Preparati koje koristite u svakodnevnoj nezi koze lica, ne smeju poremetiti kiselo-baznu ravnotezu koze. Dobro vodite racuna o tome.

Ciscenje lica Apšminkanje

Ciscenjem skidamo ostatak sminke, prasinu i cestice smoga koje smo boravkom napolje pokupili na licu, visak sebuma i znoja, odumrle celije epiderma.
Ciscenje mora biti uradjeno temeljno. Lenjost po pitanju ciscenja lica, svakako ce nam se osvetiti.
Da bi ciscenje bilo dobro odradjeno, moramo pravilno odabrati sredstvo za ciscenje koje ce odgovarati nasem tipu koze. Savet sa kozmeticarkom moze biti mudra odluka kako bi se izbegao pogresan izbor sredstva.
Sminka se mora po povratku kuci skinuti sa lica i to detaljno. Ne sme ostati ni najmanji trag sminke na licu.
Voda je dobro sekundarno sredstvo ali je lose primarno sredstvo u procesu ciscenja zato sto ne moze odstraniti odredjene vrste sminke (npr. vodootpornu).
Ujutru, mozemo koristi vodu za ciscenje ako su prethodno vece, lice ocistili i stavili hidrantnu kremu.
Mlaka voda se koristi da bi se odstranio visak sebuma i znoja a hladna voda da bi se pore skupile. Kombinacija mlake i hladne vode preporucuje se kod masnog tipa koze.
Gradska voda sadrzi hlor i kamenac. Ukoliko vam je lice osetljivo na hlor, koristite prokuvanu vodu.
Sapun u ciscenju lica - nikako. Kod sapuna vazi pravilo: moze ali od vrata na dole. Lice se nikako ne cisti sapunom obzirom da je on bazan a nase lice kiselo cime se unistava prirodnu kiselost lica i zastitnu floru koja se nalazi povrsini lica. Takodje, sapun isusuje kozu.
Gel za ciscenje lica su uvek preporucuje jer dubinski cisti lice ne narusavajuci bitno normalnu ph vrednost lica. Nakon upotrebe gela, lice se ispere vodom.
Ukoliko nemate puno sminke na licu, na vatu natopite losion i predjite preko lica. Koristan nacin ciscenja ako ste na putu.
Tonik je pomocno sredstvo u ciscenju lica - on uklanja ostatke necistoca i vraca normalnu PH vrednost kozi.
Mleko za ciscenje lica se preporucuje obzirom da lice cisti ali ga ne isusuje niti bitno narusava PH vrednost koze.
Nakon ciscenja lica mlekom, lice obavezno isperite vodom.
Maramice za ciscenje lica su odlicno resenje ako ste na putu ili ste van kuce.
Tonik cemo koristit nakon koriscenja mleka za ciscenje ukoliko smatramo da lice nismo u potpunosti ocistili. Osim sto skida ostatke necistoca i mleka, takodje i vraca normalnu PH vrednost kozi.
Ako je sredstvo kojim cistimo dobro, tonik u principu nije neophodan.

PILING

Pilingom pospesujemo regeneraciju koze tako sto uklanjamo sloj mrtvih celija sa povrsine, stvarajuci prostor sledecem sloju.
Piling vrsiti jednom nedeljno. Piling u kozmetickom salonu se uvek preporucuje.
Piling uraditi pre stavljanja hidrantne kreme. Time cemo stvoriti bolje uslove za prodiranje kreme u kozu.
Pre stavljanja krema za samopotamnjivanje je takodje korisno uraditi piling. Njime cemo postici ravnomerno nanosenje i efekat kreme istovremeno izbegavajuci stvaranje flekavosti.
Sredstva za piling u vidu gela se uvek preporucuju. Ona se nanose na vlaznu kozu nakon cega se blagim pokretima tretira lice.
Nikako jako ne trljati kozu sredstvom za piling, osteticete kozu. Pokreti moraju biti blagi narocito ako imate suvu ili osetljivu kozu.

Kako biste izgledali zdravo, sveže i negovano, ne zaboravite da koža lica mora da diše, a to ćete joj omogućiti ako bar povremeno uradite piling i skinete sve površinske izumrle ćelije

Lice je izlog ženske lepote, pa zbog toga zahteva svakodnevnu i pažljivu negu. Kao odraz našeg zadravlja, naše vitalnosti i stvarnih godina koža povremeno zahteva i intenzivan tretman. Za kožu lica je najvažnije da dobro „diše“. Ako ste primetili da vam je epiderm, površinski sloj kože, „uveo“ što zbog smoga, prašine, duvanskog dima ili svakodnevnog nanošenja šminke, ovo je pravo vreme da uradite piling i skinete sve odumrle ćelije. Tako ćete otvoriti pore i osloboditi novu, mladu kožu koju morate posebno negovati. Skidanje gornjeg sloja kože pruža temeljno čišćenje, a uz pomoć pilinga se uklanjaju i mali ožiljci, ali i bore i fleke, a koža neće prerano stariti. Ovakvim tretmanima za čišćenje omogućavate koži da pravilno diše, posebno koži koja je, zbog različitih okolnosti, dehidrirana. Kada sa površine uklonimo izumrle čelije, koži će biti lakše da upije hranjive i hidratantne sastojke iz krema i maski za negu, osvežavamo je i podstičemo njenu cirkulaciju, eliminišemo i sve nečistoće, a stimulišeno ćelijsku aktivnost novog sloja kože te ona posle piling-tertmana zaista zablista!   U zavisnosti od tipa i kvaliteta vaše kože kozmetičari će vam preporučiti da piling radite povremeno, jednom ili dva puta nedeljno. Nakon samo jednog nanošenja piling može da ukloni nečistoće sa lica, kožu ostavlja hidriranom i čini da izgleda sveže i blistavo. Ukoliko piling koristite više, odnosno tri puta nedeljno rezultat će biti značajno poboljšanje teksture kože, boja tena će vam biti ujednačena, a koži će biti vraćen mladalački izgled.

Piling od morske soli i maska od jogurta
Za pripremu pilinga u kućnoj varijanti probajte ovaj recept koji će vam pomoći da se na veoma jednostavan i jeftin način oslobodite mrtvih ćelija sa kože lica.
Potrebno vam je:
- pola šoljice morske soli
- dve kašike kokosovog ulja
- jogurt
- mleko
Sipajte u činiju so i kokosovo ulje i mešajte dok ne dobijete žitku masu. Nežno nanesite pastu na lice, ali budite pažljivi i ne pritiskajte suviše jako, jer so može da izgrebe kožu. Kada osetite da je piling dovoljno reagovao, isperite ga toplom vodom. Zatim izmešajte šoljicu jogurta sa nekoliko kašika mleka i ovu smesu nanesite na delove lica na koje ste stavljali piling. Ova maska pomoći će vam da omekšate i nahranite kožu.

MASKE

Pre donosenja odluke oko izbora maske, savet sa kozmeticarem je pozeljan. On ce svojom strucnoscu i poznavanjem maski na trzistu, preporuciti sta je najbolje za vas.
Dodatni razlog za konsultaciju sa kozmeticarem je i to sto se na trzistu mogu naci veci broj maski cije je delovanje razlicito - za ciscenje koze, zatezanje koze, prosvetljivanje koze, smirivanje koze itd.
Maska se stavlja jednom nedeljno i to maska koja je pravljena za vas tip koze. Na licu stoji maksimalno 10 minuta nakon cega se skida sa lica vodom ili drugim sredstvom koje je navedeno u uputstvu.
Koza pre stavljanja maske mora biti cista. Nikako ne stavaljati masku ukoliko imate sminku na licu.
Deo oko ociju i usne se ne tretiraju maskom . Za deo oko ociju postoje specijalne maske.

PARAFIN

Parafin podstice dubinsku hidrataciju koze i poboljsava cirkulaciju. Nakon tretmana koza postaje nezna i glatka. Preporucuje se jednom mesecno uraditi tretman parafinom.
Nikoko nemojte stavljati parafin sami na lice. Taj postupak se iskljucivo radi u salonu od strane obucene osobe koja ce parafin zagrejati, izvrsiti hidrataciju koze, staviti gazu a zatim namazati preko lica parafin. Posledice nestrucnog nanosenja mogu biti vrlo neugodne (opekotine).
Parafin se ne stavlja na lice vec na gazu koja ide preko lica. Ukoliko primetite da

postaje nezna i glatka. Preporucuje se jednom mesecno uraditi tretman parafinom.
Nikoko nemojte stavljati parafin sami na lice. Taj postupak se iskljucivo radi u salonu od strane obucene osobe koja ce parafin zagrejati, izvrsiti hidrataciju koze, staviti gazu a zatim namazati preko lica parafin. Posledice nestrucnog nanosenja mogu biti vrlo neugodne (opekotine).
Parafin se ne stavlja na lice vec na gazu koja ide preko lica. Ukoliko primetite da
OSNOVI ESTETIKE U KOZMETICI

LEPOTA JE SUBJEKTIVNI DIŽIVLJAJ.
Reč estetika potiče od grčke reči AISTHANOMAI, što znači osećam, opažam. Kada kažemo estetika pod tim podrazumevamo osećaj za lepo, prefinjeno, ukus, lepota, sklad, lep izgled. Međutim, sve su to relativni pojmovi jer je doživljaj lepog strogo individualan. Lepo je osećaj ugodnog, percepcija koja izaziva uživanje. Estetika se često definiše kao nauka ili teorija o lepom u prirodi i umetnosti. Do danas nema definicije koja bi bila logički jasna i pregledna, a ujedno bi približno tačno određivala granice onome što se smatra ili bi se moglo smatrati “estetskim”. Po Platonu i Aristotelu, karakteristike “lepog” su “sklad, red i srazmernost”, dok je po subjektivnom kriteriju lepo ono što se “po sebi sviđa”.
Problem estetike i estetskog naročito je izražen u kozmetici, jer je lice jedini deo ljudskog tela koji nikada nije pokriven, što znači da je dostupno proceni estetskog utiska koji izaziva na okolinu. Sve urođene i stečene nepravilnosti kože dovode do narušavanja harmoničnog izgleda i odstupanja od normale. Imajući to na umu, kozmetičar mora s posebnom pažnjom pristupiti svakom pojedincu i sagledati svakog klijenta kao celovitu ličnost vodeći računa o uticaju našeg tretmana na ukupan izgled pacijenta i njegov osećaj zadovoljstva i sigurnosti koji se razvija kod pojedinca posle tretmana u salonu.

ESTETIKA: POTREBA ILI POMODARSTVO

Kod većine ljudi a posebno kod mladih, bilo koja anomalija lica može izazvati određene poremećaje u ponašanju i skretanja u psihičkom razvoju. Neretko takvi poremećaji imaju trajne posledice i ponekad se teško mogu lečiti. Oni mogu dovesti do pojave kompleksa manje vrednosti, pa se takve osobe izoluju od svoje okoline, povlače u sebe i zbog unutrašnje patnje destruiraju svoju ličnost. Veliki broj anomalije kože lica danas može vrlo uspešno rešiti iskusan kozmetičar sam ili u saradnji sa dermatologom. Kod tretmana svakog klijenta estetika je jedno od osnovnih merila vrednovanja, a sa stanovišta većine pacijenata čak osnovno merilo uspešnosti tretmana. Tokom svog istorijskog razvoja pojam lepote u kozmetici doživljavao je različite interpretacije zavisno od stepena razvoja ljudskog roda, običaja i civilizacije. Uz to je taj problem u pojedinim razdobljima i sredinama uslovljen pojedinačnim ili masovnim kriterijumima lepote i tako podložan i pomodarstvu. Tretmani lica

Za većinu žena (i muškaraca) održavanje mladalačkog izgleda kože je najvažniji aspekt nege lica i tela.
