Trick to get any domain name: Valuable for both security and hacking purpose

After successfully creating a fake page, the very next question that normally readers ask to me is: " Is there any way to get the domain name look like Facebook/gmail etc.". Today's trick is all about getting a domain name, that look like any domain you want.

Carefully look at the domain name below, you can escape the detail below, if you just found the trick in the name ;)

If 'no' then you should learn a bit about the domain names. Follow the post below....

Domain Name:
Domain names are organized in subordinate levels, organized from right to left. Each level is separated by a dot(.). The individual words or characters between the dots are called labels.

The label furthest right represents the top-level domain also known as first level domain label. Some examples of top level domains are: com, org, net, edu etc.
The second label from the right represents the second-level domain. In general, we call a website name with its second level domain name. For example 'techbyte4u' in www.techbyte4u.com, 'facebook' in www.facebook.com
Any labels to the left of the second-level domain are considered subdomains of the second-level domain (sometimes called third-level domains). For example: www.news.techbyte4u.com have 'news' as a subdomain of 'techbyte4u'. (Note: www is not a subdomain, its called 'Host name lable'). A domain holder has can have many subdomains, and there is no limit of the name, he/she is free to use any word as its subdomain.

If you understood this table, then go to up again and check the URL, And try to find out the second level and first level domain lable.

You will see, 'com-support' is the second level domain name here, which is originally the website name in the given url, and facebook is only a subdomain of this website. but the collection of these two create an illusion of facebook.com

So the Trick here is:
If anyone buy any domain name starting with com for example: com-support.com, com-app.us, then by adding the subdomains he/she can get any domain similar of your choice.

When i woke up, opened my gmail, there was a mail having subject "Picnik is closing". I thought its a joke, but after checking the website i found, no, its not a joke. Google is shutting down picnik soon.

Trick to read blackout wiki page

How to read blackout wikipedia page?

Protesting against SOPA and PIPA bills, today Wikipedia has blackout the english version of its website for 24 hours. So if you open any page on wikipedia english, then it will look something like this:

But still if you want to read any page then here are some tricks to do that. If you want to disable blackout permanently for all pages, then you can directly go to second trick.

How to read blackout wikipedia page?

1.By using cached copy of Wikipedia:
1. Open the page, you want to read. and add 'cache:' in front of the url. This will open the cached copy of wikipedia stored by google. :) :) for example: if i have to open this page 'http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karush-Kuhn-Tucker_conditions' then after adding 'cache:' my url will look like: 'cache:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karush-Kuhn-Tucker_conditions'

or

You can directly open the cached page from google search too.... For that just press arrow from the front of search reasult, and then click on 'cached'.

2: By disabling javascript for wikipedia: (Permanent blackout disable)
You see, when you open a english wikipedia page, first it opens and then the black page comes. It is because, they are using a javascript for blackout the english pages, so if you disable javascript for wikipedia into your browser then you can simply see the original page.
To do so:
1. openchrome://settings/contentExceptions#javascript into your browser
2. block javascript for en.wikipedia.org

More Ways to bypass blackout:
1. Press the Esc key before the blackout loads.

Wikipedia will go shut down on Wednesday for SOPA Protest

Protesting against SOPA and PIPA bills, Wikipedia will blackout the english version of its website for 24 hours, worldwide beginning at 05:00 UTC on Wednesday, January 18. The blackout is a protest against proposed legislation in the United States—the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) in the U.S. House of Representatives, and the PROTECT IP Act (PIPA) in the U.S. Senate—that, if passed, would seriously damage the free and open Internet, including Wikipedia.

This will be the first time the English Wikipedia has ever staged a public protest of this nature, and it’s a decision that wasn’t lightly made. The banner on the site says “Please note: In less than X hours, the English Wikipedia will be blacked out globally in protest of SOPA and PIPA.” [source]

Jimmy Wales, the founder of Wikipedia has made the announcement of this blackout via Twitter today also had advised the student to finish homework on time :P

Lenovo Yoga: Tablet come Laptop

Lenovo unveiled its IdeaPad Yoga recently at CES, showing off a notebook with a 360 degree hinge designed to be used in a variety of ways in addition to the conventional laptop style.

The Ultrabook, which will run on Windows 8, can be opened and folded back on itself to be used as a tablet or e-reader with touchscreen capabilities. It can also be propped up like a tent for a better video watching experience, for example, or used as a traditional laptop.

Convertible tablets aren't a new idea, but on the Yoga, the hinges are designed to be sturdier than the swivels used in the past. When it's flipped and used as a tablet, the keyboard deactivates, so it can be placed on a flat surface or used on the go without worrying about hitting a key. The palm rest has a leathery surface so it can rest firmly and easily while being used as a tablet, and the whole device has a rubbery coating for durability.

The device is .67 inches thick, weighs 3.1 pounds and has a 13.3 inch screen, with a battery life of up to 8 hours. It will come with as much as 256 GB of SSD and 8GB of RAM. It's expected to start around US$1,199 sometime in the second half of 2012.

Google Will Pay Mozilla Almost $300M Per Year in Search Deal

Google will pay about three times as much as it once did to be the default search engine on Mozilla's Firefox browser. Although Google and Mozilla are keeping the word mum, news reports are leaking details of the deal.

"Under the multi-year agreement, Google Search will continue to be the default search provider for hundreds of millions of Firefox users around the world," said Gary Kovacs, CEO of Mozilla. What Kovacs did not say -- and AllThingsD blogger Kara Swizer is saying -- is this: The Google deal is valued at just shy of $1 billion.

AllThingsD reports that Google will pay just under $300 million a year for the strategic positioning on Firefox. Microsoft was vying for the placement for its Bing decision engine on Firefox. Microsoft also has a deal in place with Facebook.

What About Bing?
"Mozilla was able to involve Microsoft in the discussion and so created some competition for its Firefox 'default' search business. While Google's market share would probably not have been significantly affected by a switch to Bing, it was enough of a threat to generate this deal," said Greg Sterling, principal analyst at Sterling Market Intelligence.

Microsoft had been cozying up to Mozilla in recent months. In October, Mozilla and Bing rolled out Firefox for Bing, a customized version of Firefox that sets Bing as the default search engine in the search box and AwesomeBar and makes Bing.com the default home page. But Bing doesn't have a lock down on the custom Firefox experience. Mozilla is also working with United Internet, Twitter, Yahoo and Yandex on that front.

But Alan Eustace, Google's senior vice president of search, cemented the relationship between the browser rivals, at least in the media. "Mozilla has been a valuable partner to Google over the years and we look forward to continuing this great partnership in the years to come," he said. Google has the lockdown on the search engine for the next three years, at least.

Chrome vs. Firefox
Although Microsoft still has the market-leading browser with Internet Explorer, Firefox and the Google Chrome browser together are making strong gains against the incumbent. According to StatCounter, the combined versions of Internet Explorer hold about 50 percent of the global market share. Safari has gained about 5 percent on the desktop, and about 55 percent on mobile devices.

Chrome has usurped Firefox on the browser usage front. According to StatCounter, Chrome boasts 25.7 percent of the global browser market. That's nearly a 5 percent climb from two years ago. Firefox has 25.23 percent. Some industry watchers predict Chrome could draw a larger advantage against Firefox by the end of the first quarter of 2012.

"Google's own Chrome browser is increasingly a threat to Firefox, and Google's earlier, apparent abandonment of Firefox seemed to be a statement that it no longer needed the company," Sterling said. "However Mozilla seems to have played its hand well here and guaranteed its survival for the foreseeable future."

Challenge for Codebreakers

UK intelligence agency GCHQ has launched a code-cracking competition to help attract new talent.

The organisation has invited potential applicants to solve the visual code posted at http://www.canyoucrackit.co.uk/

Once the code has been cracked, successful codebreakers will receive a keyword and an invitation to apply for a role at GCHQ's.

All applicants to GCHQ must be British Citizens, however, any individuals who have hacked illegally before would not be eligible to apply. Still, others can try to break the code just to test their skills ;)

The competition began in secret on 3 November and will continue until 12 December.

If you crack it, just after that you will see a page like the one given below and a mail as well, this have a link of a job offer, but only UK citizen are eligible for it, unfortunately i m not. Following the trend, Bing yesterday released its list of "most searched" of 2011, Facebook has come up with one such list of 40 "most shared articles" of 2011 in the US on Facebook. The list includes stories, photo galleries and videos ranging from from cute to thought provoking pieces.

Apple's iPhone goes bust in dense smoke on flight

An Apple iPhone belonging to a passenger travelling on an Australian flight reportedly self-combusted emitting a "significant amount" of dense smoke, prompting authorities to launch an investigation.

No one was injured in the incident, which occurred when a Regional Express flight, on its way from Lismore, landed in Sydney on Friday, The Age reported.

Regional Express said a flight attendant carried out "recovery actions" immediately and that the red glow of the phone was extinguished successfully. The matter was brought to the notice of the Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) and the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA).

ATSB was going to thoroughly investigate the phone model -- an Apple iPhone 4 -- "and try and understand what happened," CASA spokesman Peter Gibson said.

The phone is reported to have glowed red, self-combusted and emitted a "significant amount" of dense smoke.

The iPhone 4 was no longer operational, he said, adding that he had never heard of a similar incident occurring during or after a flight.

Apple Australia spokeswoman Fiona Martin was quoted as saying that the company was looking "forward to working with officials" investigating the incident.

An anonymous reader had claimed a similar experience with a different model, the iPhone 3GS, on November 3, the newspaper said.

"My iPhone was expanding in size in terms of its width," the anonymous reader was quoted.

"(It) continued to grow in size. Before long the phone refused to even turn on and ... just expanded to what it looks like now."

The reader said that - like others - their battery life "was rapidly shrinking after updating to the iOS5 .... so much so that it would go completely flat once I got to 30 per cent."

Apple acknowledged battery life issues remained after another update. The reader suspected there was a clear link between their upgrade to the iOS5 software and their battery "exploding".

Siri is the highly anticipated addition to Apple's new iPhone, allowing you to control practically everything with your voice. It can check the weather, compose a text message, and find practically any information you want. Here's a look at how it works.

You activate Siri by holding down your home button, much like you already do (or don't) to activate Voice Control in iOS 4. From there you can speak to Siri and ask it questions. If it needs more information, it will respond to you with additional questions until it's ready to provide the information or carry out the task you've requested—and it can handle a lot.

If you want to know what the weather's like, where to find a good Italian restaurant wherever you are, the current price of a stock (or that stock's history), the square root of 4,892, and much more, Siri can find that information for you. Among its sources are Wikipedia and Wolfram Alpha, providing a wealth of useful information. Ask it how many days until a given holiday, what's on your calendar, or seek out pretty much any information you could want.

Siri is a feature of the iPhone 4S, so unfortunately it won't come as part of a free update. Whether it requires the A5 processor or Apple just wants another reason to get you to upgrade is unknown, but either way current iPhone users are out of luck. Hopefully we'll see Siri come to other iDevices in the future.

The iCloud’s seamless integration with iPhone/iPad devices threatens to take market share from companies like Box.net. It’s understandable that Box.net would come out in full swing.

Microsoft Hacked!!

Its now 3 days, an official sum domain of Microsoft,Microsoft FUSE Labs(fuse.microsoft.com), has been hacked, till last hour i could see the hacked page, but now if you open that hacked page then it will redirect you to another subdomain of microsoft.

On the defused page it was written that its hacked by someone called Hmei7, with a taunt, which you can see by urself, here is the screenshot.

Although its not the first time when 'Hmei7' hacked any site, previously he has hacked some more well known sites like IBM, TPD media etc. Some sources says "Hmei7 doesn't qualify as a professional hacker, because he doesn't seek to do permanent damage to a site, but rather cause a nuisance." while other sources says 'He hacks website not to harm but only to warn about their vulnerabilities '.

'Hmei7' is a user of Zone-H, where he posts mirror of websites defaced by him. According to zone-h, he has notified about 41,865 defacements. check all defacemnets mirror by him here.

Hmei7 got into microsoft through the SQL injection, which is pronounced "sequel
injection". As now microsoft has changed its login page of Fuse labs, so probably now they have removed this loop hole.

HTC launches next Sensation model, the XL

HTC said on Thursday that its latest smartphone in its Sensation series, the XL, with the Beats audio technology, will go on sale at the beginning of November across Europe and Asia.At a launch event in London, HTC CEO Peter Chou said the device is part of the company's continuing efforts to improve how music sounds on a mobile phone.

The XL follows the Sensation XE, HTC's first smartphone with Beats technology in it. Although the two devices have the same audio technology, the XL overall doesn't quite match up to the XE in specifications.

India launched World's cheapest tablet

NEW DELHI: India's finally got its much hyped ultra-low-cost tablet, Aakash. The government is buying the first units of the device for Rs 2250 each from a British company which is assembling the devices in India. They will initially be given to students for free in a pilot run of 100,000 units.

"The rich have access to the digital world, the poor and ordinary have been excluded. Aakash will end that digital divide," Telecoms and Education Minister Kapil Sibal said.

The tablet runs on Android 2.2 (Froyo) and comes with a 7-inch resistive touchscreen with 800x480 resolution and weighs 350 grams. The tablet has a 256MB of RAM, a 32GB expandable memory slot and two USB ports.

The tablet comes with a 12-month replacement warranty and supports formats like DOC, DOCX, PDF and PPTX etc. Aakash has a standard 3.5mm headphone jack.

The tablet has a 2100mAh battery which can reportedly last for 2-3 hours depending on the usage. The device is also said to be completely made in India, as according to a review, a sticker at the back emphasises the fact. Aakash also reportedly packs some pre-loaded apps, however, lacks the Android Market Place.

DataWind, the British-based company that developed the tablet, said the cost would drop when mass production begins. The tablet will be commercially available from November for Rs 2999. The commercial version of the tablet would have no duty waivers or subsidy, as in the government's version and come with added features like an inbuilt cellular modem and SIM to access internet.

Initial reactions to the Aakash were mixed, with the mainly middle-class technology department students at the event saying it needed refinement but was a good option for the poor.

"It could be better," said Nikant Vohra, an electrical engineering student. "If you see it from the price only, it's okay, but we have laptops and have used iPads, so we know the difference."

Some 19 million people subscribe to mobile phones every month, making India the world's fastest growing market, but most are from the wealthier segment of the population in towns.

India lags behind fellow BRIC nations Brazil, Russia and China in the drive to get its 1.2 billion population connected to technologies such as the Internet and mobile phones, according to a report by risk analysis firm Maplecroft.

The number of Internet users grew 15-fold between 2000 and 2010, according to another recent report. Still, just 8 per cent of Indians have access. That compares with nearly 40 per cent in China.

Some 19 million people subscribe to mobile phones every month, making India the world's fastest growing market, but most are from the wealthier segment of the population in towns.
