Applying technology to school

Applying technology to school Technology plays a very important role in today’s classroom. By incorporating technology with different subject area a teacher can enhance the learning experience for students. It provides students the opportunity to learn from wide array of resources for a particular subject area. It is vital for teachers to learn about the different areas of technology to implement it in a best possible way. Technology in the classroom has several advantages for teachers and students, from four year olds to college level students (law, 2010).

During my different field experiences, I had observed the use of technology in elementary classrooms. The different software programs provide students the opportunity to learn and play at the same time. Students in elementary classroom are more confident and enthusiastic in exploring and learning through technology. The use of technology enhances the problem solving skills of young children. Technology supports the different developmental needs of young children by nurturing cognitive and motor skills.

According to research differences in learning styles are more readily visible at the computer, where children have the freedom to follow diverse paths towards a goal (Clements, 1994). Learning through technology offers many unique opportunities to students and teacher at all levels. It inspires students to become self learners and offers teachers to observe children during different learning process. Educators should learn to maximize the use of technology by exploring different software and internet tools. By providing appropriate training school districts can encourage educators to implement technology in classrooms.
