Stylish Star Allu Arjun and Devi Sri Prasad’s latest combo Julaayi turned out to be a musical hit. Recently, Allu Arjun and DSP have shot for a promotional song of Pakado Pakado in Hyderabad and the makers are planning to launch it soon.

DSP has earlier posted a pic of his and Allu Arjun of the song shoot in a micro-blogging site and he said, “The "PAKADO" song frm Music Video is a dfrnt vrsn with a dfrn edit in my vocals and Bunny's dialogue..! Wl upload it once d video is Out.!!”

Ileana is playing the female lead in this Trivikram Srinivas directed Julayi, produced by N Radhakrishna. Julayi, set for a release on August 9 also casts Rajendra Prasad, Sonu Sood in prominent roles.

Nikhil & Swati team up for Swamy Ra Raa

Energetic actor Nikhil and bubbly actress Swati are teaming up for a new film titled as Swamy Ra Raa, which began rolling the camera from today [July 16] in Hyderabad. Swamy Ra Raa will be produced by Chakravarthy under the banner of Lakshmi Narsimha Entertainments. Sudheer Varma, a debutant is wielding the megaphone for the film.

Speaking about the film shoot of Swamy Ra Raa, Nikhil said, “Just canned the 1st shot...we all whistled nd clapped until our dir sudheer blushed lol.. Lotsa well wishers or set whi hav come to wish us.”

The unit will leave to Kerala and Tamil Nadu for further schedules of shoot soon. Raghu Babu, Jeeva and Raja Ravindra et al are playing prominent roles in the film.

Ravi Teja, Richa romancing in Ooty

Ravi Teja and actress Richa Gangopadhyay who were earlier seen in the film Mirapakaya are once again pairing up in ‘Sir Vostaru’ being directed by Parasuram who registered a hit with Solo movie.

The film is currently progressing in Ooty and few scenes on Ravi Teja and Richa are being canned in the schedule. Apart from Richa Gangopadhyay, pretty actress Kajal Agarwal is playing the other leading lady in Sir Vostaru. The commercial mass entertainer is being produced by Aswini Dutt on Vyjayanthi Movies banner while Devi Sri Prasad is zeroed in to compose the musical scores.

According to the filmmakers, the dialogues and Ravi Teja’s histrionics and his typical style would be highlights of the film ‘Sir Vostaru’.

Naga Chaitanya-Veeru Potla film on floors from Oct

Naga Chaitanya has given his nod to a new film to be directed by Veeru Potla, who has made his mark in Tollywood with the films Bindaas featuring Manchu Manoj and Ragada casting Nagarjuna in the lead roles. The director has also provided scripts for Varsham. Santhosham et al and now, he is set to direct Naga Chaitanya.

The film will commence its regular shoot from the month of October while the pre-production works will begin shortly. The script work is under progress and Siva Prasad Reddy will produce this commercial entertainer under Kamakshi Movies banner. Other details of the cast and crew of the film are to be finalized while a formal announcement regarding the movie is expected shortly.

The postponement of Allu Arjun's latest movie Julayi had became a headache to the makers of Devudu Chesina Manushulu.DCM producers had decided to release the movie on 8th August. And in the evening, Julayi producers had released one more press note stating that the movie is going to release on 9th August, which left DCM makers in confusion. They are worried about the movie openings. The latest info is that they planning to prepone their movie to 27th July to avoid the clash.

Rajamouli-directed film Eega was released in limited number of screens in USA due to unavailablity of cinema halls and the movie had single show on several screens in the openingweek. So the makers increased the number of shows onseveral screens and also released it in 20 more cinema halls. They expected it to fetch even better collection than the last Friday.
But to their disappointment, Eega has failed to meet theircalculations in the country on the second Friday. Sudeep-Samantha starrer movie has collected Rs 39 lakhs ($ 70,744) at the USA Box Office on the second Friday. Its business has fallen down by more than 50%. With this, the film has grossed a total of Rs 4.02 crores ($ 730,457) in nine days of its release in the country.
Whereas Billa 2 and Cocktail, which hit the screens in USA this Friday, have opened to an earth shattering response on the first day of their release in the country

Young Tiger Jr.NTR’s Baadshah regular shoot has kicked off from yesterday [July 13] in Milan, Italy. Scenes on Jr.NTR and leading lady Kajal Agarwal are being canned in this first schedule of shoot.

The extensive Italy schedule will be carried out for a month and makers have planned to capture the beautiful locales of Italy after which the unit will head to Bangkok for yet another new schedule. NTR will be seen in a new look in this Srinu Vytla directorial, being produced by Ganesh Babu on Parameswara Arts banner. Gopi Mohan and Kona Venkat provided the script along with Srinu Vytla. Thaman is the music director of Baadshah.

Stylish Star Allu Arjun’s ‘Julayi’ has reached the last leg of post-production and the film which was supposed to hit the screens on 13th July has been postponed almost by a month to August 9.

The post-production works are being carried at Shabdalaya Studios while Trivikram Srinivas, who is wielding the megaphone for Julaayi is supervising the works. Julaayi will simultaneously hit the screens in Telugu and Malayalam, as the Stylish Star enjoys a good fan base in Kerala.

The buzz that ‘Eega’ has been creating has been reaching new territories and new records. So far, the Telugu and Tamil versions have been received very well. Just recently it was reported that the Hindi version will also be there by December and that too in the 3D format. It is titled as ‘Makki’.
But here is another addition to it. The 3D version of ‘Eega’ is coming to south as well. Yes, news is that the makers have decided to release the up close version in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada as well. As such, the cost to be incurred for this move may not be much because it is only the visual aspect which has to change.
If this is true then this will answer all those who were commenting on whether ‘Eega’ will have repeat audience. David Billa – All Style No Substance

Tamil star Ajith’s ‘David Billa’ released worldwide today amidst huge expectations. The movie saw a Tamil release as ‘Billa 2′ and Chakri Tholeti is the director of the film. The film is a prequel to Ajith’s successful ‘Billa’ and it has been jointly produced by IN Entertainment and Wide Angle Creations. Music has been scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Let us see how the movie is.

Story :
If you have seen Al Pacino’s ‘Scarface’, the story of ‘Billa 2′ will be very familiar. The movie seems almost like a freemake of the Hollywood classic. David Billa (Ajith Kumar) is a Sri Lankan refugee who comes to India to seek refuge. At the local refugee camp, he revolts against the authorities who treat the refugees brutally. He gains followers and allies because of this and slowly makes his way up the crime ladder, seizing every opportunity that comes his way.
Fate brings him in contact with Abbasi (Sudhanshu Pandey) and thus begins his meteoric rise, as Abbasi gives Billa every opportunity to utilize his courage and intelligence. In between all this, the usual gang of corrupt cops, lawyers and government officials come in and go.
Things get murky when East European arms dealer Dimitri comes into the picture. As expected, Abbasi and Billa fallout and from then on, it is a fight between the parties for domination. A brief pseudo romantic track between Billa and Sameera(Bruna Abdullah) comes in flashes while Parvati Omanakuttan is seen as Billa’s niece Jasmine.

Plus Points :
Ajith looks deadly as usual and his eyes sear you with their intensity. He looks good in both the lungi as well as the tuxedo and not many people can manage to do that. His mannerisms and body language are perfect for the role of David Billa. He has also performed very well in the fight sequences.
Subhanshu Pandey is regal in the role of Abbasi. He is suave and sophisticated and his performance is impressive. Vidyut Jamal is decent in the role of Dimitri but one wonders how the director expected public to accept an Indian face for an East European character.
Ilavarasu is good in his brief role. Ajith’s sequences have been conceived stylishly. There is a sequence in the second half that resembles the opening title songs of James Bond films and it is nice. There are lots of grand visuals and interesting locations throughout the movie. All the songs in the movie are just item numbers and they will offer some visual relief

Minus Points :
Etching of characters is terribly poor and care should have been taken here. Logic goes for a toss big time in many sequences and it makes viewers squirm in their seat. Chakri Tholeti expects you to get thrilled by a scene where Ajith blows the daylights out of a heavily armed police force, using nothing more than a pump action shotgun.
Screenplay is bad and lacks conviction. Pace keeps dipping at many places in the film. There is no emotional depth to the proceedings and one fails to sympathize with the character of David Billa. Rahman makes an extremely brief and pointless appearance.
Parvati Omanakuttan and Bruna Abdullah have very poor roles and they don’t even look too hot. The romantic track is atrocious. Some of the most important scenes in the film fall flat and do not lend the story any support.
No effort has been made to bring Telugu nativity into the film. Signboards and names of cities could have been easily changed into familiar Telugu names to give the film a local flavour, but no effort has been made in that direction.

Technical Aspects :
Chakri Tholeti fails as a director. Even with such a brilliant scrip like ‘Scarface’, he does not evoke any fiery passion among viewers. Bad Screenplay and substandard narration only add to the woes. Cinematography is outstanding and the visuals are just magnificent. With grand locations and expensive surroundings, the sense of luxury is never missed once Billa becomes a Don. Editing is poor and could have been crisper. Yuvan Shankar Raja’s music is passable but his background score is good.
Telugu dialogues have been written poorly and dubbing work is shoddy. Fight sequences and stunts have been conceived very well. Production values are rich.
Verdict :

Billa 2 is one of those movies which have a lot of style but absolutely no substance. Ajith’s fans will love his super cool looks and his fights. But for the common movie lover, the substandard characterization and poor screenplay act as major minus points. If you want to catch a very stylish Ajith and some superb visuals, you may try to sit through this flick this weekend. If entertainment and fun are on your agenda, stay away.

Ram Charan, V V Vinayak’s film’s next schedule in Kolkata

Ram Charan is all set to join the shooting of V V Vinayak’s upcoming film from July 20 onwards. Few months ago, the film was shot in Hyderabad and then the unit headed to Dubai to can couple of songs. After that Ram Charan allocated his dates for Yevadu and Zanjeer, before going on a three week long break thanks to his wedding. Ever since he came back from his honeymoon in Italy, Ram Charan shot for a DoCoMod Ad and for more than two weeks in Bangkok for Zanjeer. The latest news is that he’s back from Bangkok and will soon fly to Kolkata to join the sets of V V Vinayak’s film and this schedule will go on till the end of the month.
