Chapter 3:-

Losing the grip, unable to hold the momentum, Vishal, in an alarmed state, was running through the desolate road, nowhere to go. His soul was trying to be free from all the shackles of memory where the glimpses of his only love and life was howling.

That poignant injustice of life always had an endeavor to swallow his mind. He was somewhere in the hollow dark space from where he could not even imagined to illuminate a lenient moment.

He was the only one who can understand his lament but failed to convince with the reality. His alarmed state had taken him in such a hollow space where he had lost the ability to listen the intense horn of the truck behind him.

The driver suddenly pushed the brake but it was too late. The vehicle lost all its control to avoid the sudden collision.

From the middle of the road the wretched fellow was thrown into the corner of the pavement. Blood spilled out from his head within no time. All the weeping, sobbing, howling became serene with the help of a screech. Only the blowing of wind through his hair was in its constant manner.

…………….

Both the women were brought back from their silent mourning when they heard something terrified out there. Two pairs of footsteps were moving in the same direction without taking a single breath.

After a few while those two wet faces were looking at each other as it was some unknown regenerative power which melts down their disappointments for a single cause.

A new dawn was set about after eclipse…

Chapter 2:-

“Why are you shouting at me like this way amma?” Naina replied.

“Why do you need to go in these kinds of late night parties? What is the point of enjoying life in this uncultured manner? Just look at your dress. Huh!! Is this the..”

“Oh come on amma, please don’t start again. It’s fashion. Don’t you get it? People do not wear sarees in the parties. I like these dresses. Everybody likes these. Please do not interfere in my dressing sense or any personal matters. I am an adult now. You are old fashioned but….”

Slapppp…..

Naina’s left cheek turned red and her eyes were wet. She paused for a moment, looking her mother’s furious panting face and then ran into her room.

“Do not ever dare to talk to me like that or show me your nonsense audacity.”

Bangg!!!

The door of Naina’s messed up room was shut with a sudden thrust.

“Enough is enough. I should have controlled this little freak much before” Her mother whispered in her mind and sobbing alone in the hall.

Naina was silently sitting on her bed, gazing nowhere in the room probably questioning herself for having a messed up life. Her room was also messed up with her useful and wasted things here and there. The plate filled with half eaten biscuits was still there since yesterday morning. Her notebooks, ipod, tablet all were somewhere in her bed. Only one single photo frame was kept in her study table with proper decoration, photo of her father.

The childish adult girl slowly stood up and move towards her father’s only sign. She was staring at her father’s smiling face. She took the picture in her hand and touching her father’s face with her little thin fingers.

“Why did you leave me? You were my best friend, my world. Had I done any mistake to have such a disastrous life today? Please answer me. I need you. Please come back to me. Save me” the 22 year old spoiled child felt the cruel momentum of life again after so long.

Bibha lost Paritosh, who was a senior manager in UCO Bank, in a car accident when Naina was only 12 years old. At that time, Arjun, little brother of Naina was only 8 years old. After daddy, Arjun was the only one with whom she can spend her time in an endless manner by sharing every tiny detail of the day.

Bibha got the job of a clerk in the same branch after the mishap of their lives. Though she was earning for her small family but those two little kids were growing up with the darkness created by the loss of their bestie. Every single night both of them hold each other in their arms tightly as it seemed to them that some giant of hell will snatch them away from the room.

The 40 year old widow was tired enough to grew up two kids together in a proper manner. Especially she was facing trouble with Arjun, losing her patience. She decided to keep her little kid in boarding school for his better study. 12 years old Naina soon become some experienced old woman but still was helpless to win over her darkness, the unavoidable vacuum in her life.

The emptiness took a giant shape when her mother gave in to her helplessness.

May be God or that unseen creator or the player called nature was also lost his capacity to revive the charm of this isolated family. Though there were three, everyone became on their own. Even if they want to stand beside each other, their hesitation creates an unwanted distance which was totally ignored by them.

They lost the same person together still they were crying alone, without noticing each other…

Chapter 1:-

July 22, 2013, 11.30 PM

……After a long hectic schedule of software expo presentation and analysis, Vishal returned to his residence. His place was well furnished. There were lots of furniture, trendy dining set, 42” wall mounted LCD television, etc. in a word everything was there for him.

It’s general for him to get back to home in the late nights or midnights. He really didn’t care about the time or which day it is. Time just became an excuse for him to survive. All he knew was just work and only work.

After finishing dinner with two chapattis and dal makhni, made by his 60 years old maid, he put his head on the cushion, laying on the sofa and turning on the CNBC channel. It was 12.45 AM. Though his body was tired but his eyes were not ready to be calm and quiet. He was constantly changing the TV channels.

He rose up and decided to take a shower. He went to the bathroom and turned the shower on. Slowly the water touched his head in a mild way and flows over his face. It was a real relieved feeling for him. After a few moments he was still, found his eyes were wet not due to the waterfall but because of tear.

…Something was trying to tie him up and make him frozen forever.

This thing was not any surprise to him. Approximately every night he was going through like this. He did not even remember the hours he slept with a smile peaceful face. He just forgot how to smile, rather say how to dwell properly in the last two years.

In the down memory lane he was still trying to find Malini. Somehow he was also confused in the midst of past time happy saddy moments which were shackling his daily life.

Vishal came out of the bathroom, with the towel, cleaning the water drops from his uneven hair. Moving forward to the couch suddenly he was stopped by smelling a sweet jasmine flavor in the air. His eyes were closed; he was mesmerized by the heavenly breeze. He figured out that a girly voice from the couch was saying ..

“You stupid cute monkey, you are still not able to clean your hair properly and still acting like a kid at the age of 27”.

Vishal was smiling.

Smelling the fragrance in the mild air, he was moving forward to the couch, he could see the long hairs flying here and there with his hypnotized mind. He whispered with a lot of hope in his voice

“MALINI”…

The girl was slowly turning to his face while he was getting closer to her to touch her, hold her once again. Vishal was feeling his rebirth.

As he was just an inch distance from her, Vishal raised his hand to feel her soft little lips. All of a sudden the beautiful glimpse was disappeared like a mirage.

Vishal was just standing like a still. No expressions were reflecting from his frozen mind. He was there gazing for a moment and slowly realizing the deep hearted wish of his broken heart. He sat on the ground shattered, ruptured in misery, shouting and crying like a mad maniac.

He felt every surroundings near to him were laughing at him with the tip top beats of his wall clock.

The vagabond in the lifeless desert was surrendering to the irony of nature, figuring out the fact all the blissful moments were like water bubbles in the waves of sea. His whole heart and soul are now ruled by the fact Malini is not present in his life, she will not come back to change the present moment.

He was again and again touching the soft couch to find out those pappy fingers but could only sense the grained couch cover sheet which was fabricated with puppy designs by her.

He was unable to control himself. He was suffocating in that big hall. The mild sound of television seemed to him like a roar of demon. The puppet of time pulled out the door crying, lamenting and sobbing, leaving the sweet cute memory filled home turned into melancholy hell like cage behind him.

The indicators at the wall clock were stuck at 3:00 AM. Though the time was running but the entire environment was suffocating for someone. The door was open. Only the tick tock of the wall clock and the sound of a bollywood song in the television were ruling over the void space….

This small note is the dedication to that person for whom I am able to find this side of my nature. I don’t want to reveal the name of the person because I know the great soul can understand what I have in my mind.

Assam- In the midst of mirage

Northeast India, always has been a scenic beauty, welcomes the 'tracepassers' with a heartful joy during their traditional festival ' Bihu'. It's similar to Bengali's Sankranti or Punjabi's Lori. People burn their grief in the fire for the hope of a new era.

Still there is something which will get repeated again and again after this Bihu' 2020 in Assam.

" Mu CAB na manu"... This was just like a chant in every assamese mouth.

Roads were blurred with the rage of fire.

Nobody was aware whether it's a democratic failure or the resonance of two nation theory. Non assamese people who just came here for their job or some other reasons were terrified to see these inhuman bizzare act. One political decision just spun the daily life of Assam.

A tsunami of outrage was generated and later on that resulted into 144 act.

Black smoke had conquered all over the sky. Mobs were biased to choose the correct way for them. Everyone was showing their demonic heroism. Red sun was just an indication of future bloodbath.

Present Day

Today Bihu will end by midnight. Present Government had succeeded to establish CAA in all over area except some sensitive zones. Assam is just like an endangered tigers hub who are so much terrified that they are willing to do the extreme of all. We don't know whether we can smile tomorrow or will be compelled to sit at home to wait for the next peace mission. It reminds me the downfall of our national politics at 1989.

Maybe there is God or there is no unity elsewhere. May the soul of the nation rest in peace.....
