So, as the title of this post suggests, I'm now a fan of Sherlock (BBC). Watched the whole series in less then three days, though considering there's only nine episodes that's not that big of an accomplishment. Still, LOVED the show to pieces. (Am I the only one who thinks Sherlock would be good friends with L Lawliet and who's reminded of Donna Noble every time Watson scolds Sherlock?)

In other TV show related news my husband and I just started watching The Office (US) together. Am I the only one who fears the consequences should Dwight ever procreate? Seriously, despite his good taste in television and movies, the guy is a total suck-up and an uber a-hole. And Lord forbid he reproduce with the ice-witch Angela. The only thing good she has going for her is her love of cats and baking skills.

I feel SO BAD for poor Toby, always getting bullied and with nobody genuinely seeming to care for him. Sometimes I just wanna hug him and tell him everything will be okay. Also, how is that Michael has lived this long or gotten this far in his field? Half the time he's a total tool and yet the other half he somehow makes me feel sorry for him.

Last night I watched Bad Words with my mother-in-law. It was surprising that she's the one who picked it out, as dark humor usually isn't her favorite, but then again she did sleep through most of the movie so she undoubtedly missed all the bad/funny parts. Despite the fact that it just jumped into the story without first setting the stage--a minor annoyance in the long run, it was an overall good movie.

So my husband and I celebrated the eight-year anniversary of our first date the other day. Every year we do exactly what we did on our first date (sans the group of friends who "chaperoned" us the first time*), catch a movie at the same theater and follow it up by a trip to the same Chuck E. Cheese for pizza, arcade games, and our yearly "sketch pad" photo. Depending on our schedule each year, sometimes we may go on a different day then our actual anniversary and at times we go to CEC first.

*Note: My husband and I first met on MySpace and as such our date was the first time we'd met in person. So, given the dangers of meeting someone you've met online, I decided to be cautious and take a small group of (3) friends along and hold the date at a public venue.

Anyway...This year we saw Captain America: The Winter Soldier. It was awesome, but why shouldn't it have been? It has Chris Evans, and Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson all reprising their award-winning roles of Steve Rogers, Black Widow, and Director Fury respectively. I also enjoyed the addition of Anthony Mackie as Falcon, hopefully he'll be in more Marvel movies. And of course, let's not forget the supporting cast of Hayley Atwell, Frank Grillo, Robert Redford, Cobie Smulders, Sebastian Stan, Emily VanCamp, et al. All tremendous talent who I wish to see in future films. Only down-side was having to listen to my husband comment on how Captain America should be "totally banging" the Black Widow. -_-' (Heterosexual) men...

Then today I watch About Time with my mother-in-law. Another good movie. LOVED the one song "How Long Will I Love You" performed by Jon Boden, Sam Sweeney, and Ben Coleman. Listen to it in the video link provided below.

In other news, I'll be partaking UNICEF's "Live Below the Line" challenge on April 28-May 2. Live Below the Line deals with the problem of extreme poverty and inequality by demonstrating the problem in a concrete way, while raising money to address the problem. Part of LBTL is challenging people to live off of £1 ($1.68 USD) a day in food/drink. In preparation for this I went to Target and bought and bought 10 packs of Maruchan ramen for $0.22 each, a box of Pop-Tarts (8 count) for $1.97, and an extra 2-pack of Pop-Tarts for $0.70. (For those who care about the math, that's about $0.50 for each pack of Pop-Tarts in the box.) That's around $0.94-$1.14 a day for breakfast and dinner (I usually don't eat lunch). With all that I've still got $0.54-$0.74 a day to splurge on at the vending machine.

Cleveland

Drove over an hour away to Cleveland to see 9:30PM showing of Return to Nuke 'Em High the other day with my husband and our friend Renee. Husband ended up winning a lithograph signed by the director and cast members and a photo of the director that he signed. Also got pics taken with director and Toxic Avenger, so that was cool.

Tried going to get coffee afterwards but nowhere was open, we even hit three potholes and as a result had to refill one of the front tires with air. Gas station we filled the tire at was tagged with butt-loads of graffiti and sold bowls and other drug paraphernalia which made us feel über safe. So now the car might need a new tire. Joy.

Anyway...Saw some previews for a few movies that looked good: Bad Words, Under the Skin, Cheap Thrills, Short Peace, and my fave by far--Only Lovers Left Alive. Planning on seeing it with a friend hopefully by the end of the month.

So it turns out I'm not dead...yet. Which, to me and anyone who actually follows this, is a good thing. Hmm...what to say next?

Well, my husband plans on taking me to the Steel City Con in April to see Brent Spiner and Nicholas Brendon. *SQUEE!* I get to meet Data and Xander! *Insert happy dance.* So if you plan on attending maybe we'll bump into each other?

Rented Thor: the Dark World a week or so ago and have been on a Loki/Tom Hiddleston kick since. Mostly spending my free time reading Loki/OC fanfics and watching Tom Hiddleston interviews on YouTube. I particularly enjoy the ones where he does impersonations and/or dances. I've also made it a point to add any and all of his available movies to my Netflix list. (Something I do for all actors/actresses I particularly enjoy.)

OH! I also saw The Lego Movie last weekend with my husband and mother-in-law. Good times, but now I have "Everything is Awesome" running through my head over and over. T_T' Just makes me want to bust out my copy of Lego City: Undercover and play some more.

Did anyone else FREAK OUT when they watched Once Upon a Time this week? Not only is Rumple still alive, but the connection between the Wicked Witch and Evil Queen was shocking to say the least. Not as shocking as Peter Pan being Rumple's father, but a surprise none the less. (Felt like a pedophile being so attracted to Pan but was relieved when I found out the actor who played him, Robbie Kay, is 18.)

Speaking of surprises, this week's Teen Wolf and The Walking Dead episodes were shockers as well! I did NOT see either of those plot twists coming. I knew someone was supposed to die in Teen Wolf, as they teased it, but I didn't expect the person to die would be Alison. She was one of the main characters! Her poor father, loosing another family member to such tragedy...

I knew Lizzie had a few screws loose, but DANG! It's also a good thing for Carol that Tyreese is so forgiving. Though considering how he reacted to Karen's murder when it first happened I'm surprised he didn't just off Carol the second she told him the truth. Maybe his forgiveness was meant to show how he's grown as a person, or maybe he figures he still needs Carol's help to survive. Dunno...

Can't think of much else to say here, so for now I think I'll go.

Been watching all the Chris Evans movies I can get my hands on lately. Most recent one being What's Your Number? He's naked a LOT in that one, though you only ever get to see his ass. Still worth the rental fee though for that alone, but the story/plot was good too. You can thank all the Captain America fanfiction I've been reading for that. I look at one fic, turns out to be good, then it starts a whole snowball effect and the next thing you know-BOOM! Yet another name to add to my growing list of my fictional bishounen harem members. (Harem is fictional, some members are too, but some members are actual people.)

Did you know he was the jock in Not Another Teen Movie and the Human Torch in the Fantastic Four movies? If so, kudos. If not, don't feel bad, I forgot too!

Nothing much to say here. Transferred to the Art Institute Online for the animation course. My dreams of becomming an animator for Disney or Studio Ghibli are now one step closer whilst my student loans and debt continue to increase. So it's a double-edged sword.

Been keeping up on all things Robert Carlyle and OUaT whilst adding in a new interest in Chris Evans and Captain America fanfiction. Did not know he also played the Human Torch in the Fantastic Four movies and the one jock guy from Not Another Teen Movie. Interesting surprise there. Looking forward towards watching another of his films What's Your Number? as it has several scenes with him naked in them. They don't show the goods, but you get a nice view of his ass, so that's nice.

Also, just discovered the Catbus installation at the Studio Ghibli Museum in Japan. *Insert fangirl squeal.* See an online article about it and the rest of the Ghibli museum at Halcyon Realms.

Fun Times

So I went with my husband to this ROH wrestling event near Pittsburgh on Saturday so he could get Bruno Sammartino's autograph. Well, aside from it being two and a half hours away from where where we live we also had to drive in over 90°F weather with no AC. Next we got lost for half an hour because MapQuest is incompetent and the Ice Gardens's sign was near in-freak'n-visable from the road it's on. To top it off by the time we got back to our car (around midnight) we find that our battery is dead. JOY.

So we go in to get a jump from the employees and they assure us that they'll help and to just go back outside and wait by our car. So we do so and we wait for 45 minutes while everyone else is leaving the event, stupidly believing that we'd get our promised help, until we notice them close up shop and lock-down the place. *Insert tirade of swear words.* Now, being left to fend on our own we end up having to call a tow-truck to jump start us. It takes the truck 25 minutes to get there then another 30+ to finally get enough juice in our engine for it to start.

Finally back on the road we end up back near home only to get lost again because it's dark and North Lima supposedly doesn't believe in clearly marking their roads with stuff like street signs. So we wonder around the country side for what seems like an eternity until we see a road we think might be the one we need, even though it's not marked, and finally return home by 2AM. We shower, brush our teeth and whatnot and finally manage to get in bed by 4AM. Needless to say that autograph better be damn well worth it to my husband for all the shit we had to endure just to get it.

A day or two passes and then we're up for round two. We moved into our current house around the beginning of last November and have been unable to get rid of our old house in the ghetto (because that's what Youngstown's south side is) thus far. My mother-in-law (who we've lived with for the past 6+ years) goes to the old house to mow the lawn and finds the front door wide open. Lovely. So, fearing that their might be some gang-bangers or drug addicts inside she drives the four or so blocks to her ex-husband's house (my husband's father) to get his help. He's not home so she calls the cops and they inspect the house. Nobody was there, they tell her, but all the stuff we'd left there had been gone through and the electric meter was broken off and MIA. (Who the freak steals an electric meter from a house? SERIOUSLY! How the heck did they even bust it off to begin with?) Long story short my mother-in-law ends up using some old fence posts to board up the house untill she can get something more stable.

Round three came last night when we had a tornado warning from around 10-11:45PM then again from like around Midnight-1:30AM. Needless to say the cat and dog were about as much thrilled with this as us humans were. My mother-in-law was particularly happy seeing as she had to be at work today around 6AM. Fun times were had by all. (Not the sarcasm in that last sentence.)

So now I'm stuck waiting to see what fun filled event God has in plan for us next whilst I work on completing my makeup work for my Medieval England history class. Yet another fun time I'm having. Do you have any idea how hard it is to find primary resources, let alone ones written/translated into English, on the Church's distaste for jousting in England between the 12th and 14th centuries? Dang near freak'n impossable, unless you wanna fork over ≥$50USD to buy them online.

Edit: Oh yeah, and stupid Blogger is screwing around with the size of the text in this post, even though I've tried resetting it to normal size about half a dozen times now. Gerr...

Though I don't think I would've been able to stop laughing in embarrassment. And you can thank Once Upon A Time for my new infatuation with Robert Carlyle. (He's too damn cute for being over 50.) He's SO GREAT as Rumpelstiltskin/Mr. Gold, I decided I had to check out his other works. *Sigh.* Too bad most of the aren't on Netflix. But Stargate Universe and Trainspotting are! He's good in them too, and Trainspotting also has Ewan McGragor! I just wish I understood more of the Scottish accent, as I only comprehended 80-90% of what was being said in that movie. So far I've watched all of Girls Bravo, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and Bo Burnham's Words, Words, Words along with about half of Boys Over Flowers and three episodes of My Girlfriend Is A Gumiho. It's weird, but Lee Seung Gi (in My Girlfriend Is A Gumiho) looks like an Asian Rupert Grint (AKA-Ron Weasley). So now I'm semi-addicted to Korean TV shows, I just wish Netflix had more Japanese TV shows and movies. Particularly ones with Kenichi Matsuyama.

Meanwhile my husband has taken a liking to King of the Hill. "Why didn't you tell me this show was so funny?" Umm...maybe because you mock almost everything I say is good? Duh. But still, it's nice to have a show we can watch together and both enjoy. Other then that, I'm gonna have to catch up on Americas Got Talent on my DVR. Oh! I'm also looking forward to the second season of Teen Wolf and the new season of Royal Pains.

Of Movies and Mothers

Watched The Vow last night with my mother-in-law. Was surprised to find out it was based on a true story. Good Story+Talented Actors(and Actresses)=Great Movie. Standing Tall, however, was mildly entertaining at best. I watched tonight with my mother-in-law and was immediately unimpressed. The acting was sub-par and the story WAY TOO religious centered for my taste. Not that there is anything wrong with religion, I was just hoping for something more, well...MORE. The ending bit big time too, as it seemed to have a depressing/cliffhanger end. Other then that, hope everyone enjoys there Mother's Day.

Just watched the first Bleach movie on YouTube, as I only got to see parts of it when it was on Cartoon Network. SPOILER: The ending made me cry a little. I hope Senna comes back in some shape or form. Maybe she is reincarnated? Dunno. END SPOILER. Planning on watching the next ones within the following days, though it may take me longer. Real life always tend to get in the way of funner things...like anime/manga, fanfiction, video games, movies, TV, etc. I also hope to watch Rise of the Planet of the Apes with my husband by the end of the week, providing I can pull him away from watching WWE and his horror movie marathon.

In other news, I also recently watched an adorable Japanese movie, Rabbit Drop, on YouTube. I tried finding it on Amazon first, but it's not listed on the Englsih speaking site. So I was forced to settle for watching over the Internet on my monitor instead of on my sizably larger HGTV. Anyways, the movie has Kenichi Matsuyama (AKA: L in the live action Death Note movies) as one of the lead roles, so you know it has to be at least somewhat decent to watch by that fact alone. So if you like Matsu-Ken (Kenichi's childhood nickname), Japanese films, and don't subtitles, I'd HIGHLY recommend watching it. (See below.)

So you know that feeling when you finally find out someone you graduated high school with is in the NFL? Well, I do. I think he's been for maybe a year or two and I only just found this out today...私は馬鹿です。

In other news turns out our house is infested with spiders and centipedes...JOY! Exterminator will come out tomorrow to (hopefully) fix that though, so should be all good. Also, found random bruise on my leg and I'm not sure how it got there. Seems to happen a lot to me...T_T'

Nothing much to say. It's going to be the anniversary of my first date with my husband (and first date EVER!) this Wednesday. So, per the usual, we're going to do the same thing we did that first time six years ago. See a movie and then go to Chuck-E-Cheese and climb in the kid's playhouse/tube-thingy. Same theater and same CEC as the first time too. Seems cheesy, pardon the pun, but it's real fun.

Haven't updated in like for-freak'n-eva! Sorry 'bout that.

Didn't get to go to Japan. Stupid USPS guaranteed the delivery of our papers to the Japanese embassy in Chicago by 3PM the next day, took them THREE days! Our $#*t was late, so we couldn't get our visas in time. >_<* Then while waiting another semester to get to go my husband's social anxiety begins to go into overdrive and he decides he doesn't want to go because it's too scary. T_T' I'm not going without him. HE was the Japanese major, not me. And if I had any chance of passing the Japanese language class at JCMU it was with him there by my side helping me. So...no Japan. That blows uber big time.

Oh well...Que sara, sara...

On some better notes: husband and I got a Kindle Fire for Christmas. SCORE! And my 26 birthday was the other day. Got some cool gifts, amongst which was Final Fantasy XII-2 for our PS3. UBER SCORE!

My husband and I got accepted to study abroad in Japan at JCMU next semester. Now we have to scramble to get the post-acceptance paperwork done and in by Wednesday. So, no pressure there...

I hate my depression. Every time someone gets upset with me I automatically assume it's my fault and that I'm a bad person. I don't people when they get mad at me, I hate myself. I hate myself for making them angry and feel sorry that they have the misfortune to know me. My husband says that thinking that way is bull, that I'm a wonderful person. However, to me it appears that after living 24+ years, and all the times people have gotten upset at me, that I am the only common denominator. The one thing all these people have in common is knowing me, so how am I not to blame? Maybe I just attract these kinds of people towards me. But in all honesty I fear that I make them that way. I don't mean to, it's just that I'm some sort of cancer when it comes to making people miserable.

Oh well, thank God I have my husband and my Zoloft.

Fullmetal Re-Do

So apparently Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood isn't a continuation of Fullmetal Alchemist, but rather the same thing only with a subtitle (Brotherhood) added to it. Or...at least that's how it appears so far. A bit of a downer, since I've already seen all the episodes of the original. All the ones they showed on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim anyways. T_T' Maybe I'll watch the last episode or two of FA:B to see if the ending differs any. Good thing I didn't spend any money on actually buying this yet.

On another note...Anybody know how to say "I have a wedgie" in another language? Random, I know. But hey, I NEVER claim to be "normal." Far from it. 私はとても変です。("Wa-ta-she wa toe-tey-mo hay-n days." It means "I am very weird." in Japanese.)

Can't think of anything else to say right now, except that Netflix doesn't seem to wanna work for me right now. How the heck am I supposed to get my anime fix with the stupid thing outta wack?!? -_-'

Well, I should probably go now. I have to get ready ready for bed if I'm going to get up in time for my 10AM Linguistics class. You'd think it'd be a hard class, but not really. My professor is really cool and makes it fun. Plus she's a huge fan of Buffy, so that helps too. ^_^

(Please note that I'm actually a fan of Twilight and don't really hate Edward Cullen, I'm neutral towards him. But the thought of Spike or the Scoobies coming across a Twilight vampire just makes me wet myself laughing. Buffy and her gang would so PAWN the heck outta the Cullens. After all, the Cullens may not disintegrate into ashes when the sunlight hits them, but nobody messes with dark Willow. "Yellow crayon Wills, yellow crayon." roflmfao.)

First Post/Blah

I'm highly doubtful that I'll ever get any followers. But in the slim chance that I ever do, I would like to thank you all ahead of time. That said, I cannot currently think of anything important to say. So I guess I'll just ramble on some...

My husband has recently started watching The Jersey Shore and Teen Mom, dragging me into watching them as well in an attempt to find more shows we can watch together. The shows are okay enough, not like I'd ever watch them on my own. However when watching these shows, as well as many other shows on TV, I cannot help but think that the cast members all need some serious form of psychiatric help. First off they're all obviously attention seekers seeing as they've opted to air their lifes on national television. Second, some of the ways they act-react and the decisions they make seem questionable to me. Then again everyone knows reality shows are almost always scripted.

We've also started watching I Use to be Fat, a show I chose. Too bad you have to be a high school senior to do this show, as both my husband and I would enjoy receiving free personal trainers. The only down side would be all those damn cameras. But then again the intrusiveness of it all might very well be worth loosing an extra 30-40 pounds or so. It's only for a few months anyways.

Other shows I've been watching as of late are Robin Hood (BBC), Black Butler, Spice & Wolf, Speed Grapher, Xenosaga, and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood-all on Netflix. There are many more I intend to watch piled up on both my Instant Que and DVD Que. Man I love Netflix, I just wish they had more of the animes and Japanese movies/TV shows that I wanna watch. If I wish to watch any of Kenichi Matsuyama's stuff-which I DO-I'm forced to wait and take turns with my husband as to what comes in our DVD Que. To top it off most of those Matsu-Ken DVDs are on backlog! (Insert tirade of explicatives.)

Then there's my husband playing Castlevania: Lords of Shadow on the 360. He seems to enjoy the game when he's not spouting venomous curse-words and insults, banging his fist against the wall or futon in an attempt to sedate his anger towards a particularly difficult boss fight. I think I might try it one day, though I still prefer Hector over Gabriel any day.

Speaking of bishounen, I've been reading Kuroshitsuji Sebastian/OC romantic fanfiction online lately. Yet another Canon/OC pairing I have to add to my list of fanfic obsessions. Comm. Data, Shinzon, Trunks Briefs, etc. Wowzers, I have a huge revers-harem on my hands! Guess I'll just have to add another expansion onto my dungeon. roflmfao.
