The USN choosing Boeing FA-XX means a lot more than just Boeing is making the Navy's new fighter. Its an open window into the military's plans for the future. It's also a a giant F.U. to Lockheed that has managed to completely piss off the US. You don't bite the hand that feeds you and that is exactly what LM has been doing. You see, they have been ripping off the US taxpayer for years. They knew they designed the only 5th gen fighter the US has, they had a monopoly, the US was trapped. They refused to hand over the data rights to it so they could cash in. Profits over US NatSec. The US military has been trapped. We've been forced to pay up. F35 upgrades are many years late & always way over budget. Right now LM is delivering F35's without a radar! But the US has no choice but to pay up to LM. Its either that or we lose air dominance. USAF F47 was never supposed to replace F35, but the F22. It couldn't because it is too expensive. So LM thought they still had a monopoly & could still rip off the US taxpayers. Basically high stakes blackmail. Enter Boeing. Winning both the USAF and USN contracts means production will now go from 180 to almost a thousand purchased. BAAAM! The price of NGAD just dropped precipitously. This means LM will no longer have their monopoly. The USAF can now afford to buy more F47's. LM now has superior competition. They will no longer have a monopoly. US was supposed to purchase more than 1700 F35's. Nobody will admit it yet, but those numbers are going to drop. The US just gut punched LM. But there is one major question remaining. Can Boeing deliver? Because their past record says NO.

Sidenote. The USMC had (once upon a time) searched high and low for a fast attack vehicle (don't even know if that's still a thing these days). Suffice it to say that they failed to find one although the G-Wagon attempted to fill the role for a bit. During the whole time of the search, no one could tell me what the criteria was for a fast attack vehicle! Just another mystery from the past I guess. I have no idea what this vehicle is supposed to do for German Special Ops and the only thing I'm sure of is that its air transportable by CH-47. Just by looking I imagine its more expensive than the Polaris and a bit bigger too. The Germans went a different way but I don't follow German bloggers/X users so I have no idea the what's and why's....

Unless you have Rumsfeld or someone like Rumsfeld, you'll see that most armed forces advance the most during war. Nothing like a sense of urgency to get upgraded gear to your troops and apparently Russia is no different. They appear to follow the Western example with a few differences. I'll leave it to the gear guys to point out what those are but at a glance I see a few.

Spiders are diabolical. Of all the things I've seen/heard of, in the animal kingdom this is near the top of the list. Who would think of capturing an entire wasp nest? Mr. Spider that's who. On top of that the Ant sees these bastards caught in a no win situation and what does he do? Those evil little bastards decide to make a run at the Wasp larvae and act like its a buffet meal (for them I guess it is). Thank God that he made them little. Even if they were just a bit bigger then we would be on the menu.
