Well...2 kids later I am feeling the backyard train again. I think it is the Spring in the air.

Hello All:

Well I apologoze for letting this go so long without a post. I now have 2 kids and my freelance video has kick up a notch since I begain this blogging journey.

The current status of my backyard layout is non-operational at this time. It is unfortunate becuase my son and I really enjoy watching the trains run and doing work around the layout. Well we had to grind a tree down to the root because of buckling to our patio area. This has derailed us so to speak in regards to backyard enjoyment. It remains a work in progress.

In the meanwhile I have assited my club with a blog and I remain highly inspired by their great work.

I am thankful to Grant Minor and Jen's Bang for allowing me a sneek peek at the great SNAKE RIVER RAILROAD. These guys were featured in the April issue of Garden Railways Magazine and wow!, this layout is incredible. I wish I have that kind of space to run a few boxcars on. Enjoy!

Hello to all,
I want to say thank you for stopping by every now and than to see how things are going in the backyard. As you are now aware the loop is completed and I like to tell people that the illusion of the train running on tracks is great but the track itself well...thats another story. :)
Since this is my first attempt I recognize the flaws, the inaccurate grading and the lack of ballast but I know we will eventually get there.
My attention is now focused of connecting my LGB loco to the USA train 4-bay with the use of Kadee couplers. Grant Minor mention to me via a email that this would be a great start so I will give it a go ASAP.

Once again thank you for your emails and for leaving comments when you can. Please keep doing so as we watch this garden adventure unfold.

Large Scale 4-bay Center Flow

A work in progress. USA TRAINS seems to be the best in detail for modern large scale trains and special care is needed when handling. I accidentily broke a few pieces off while painting the first side. :( Nonetheless this is a great looking model!

Well, I was finally able to sink my teeth into a large scale attempt at adding years to a boxcar. What do ya think? I have to admit after seeing this with a coat of paint and a few dry brushes of powder it look great especially out in the sun on the rails. This is still a work in progress.
