If I asked you to list your top 10 pet peeves about work, I am pretty sure "Female boss" would figure somewhere in the list. Male or female, but most of us do not want a female boss.
I was one of the few lucky ones to have a very sweet female boss, but it is hardly ever the case. (I would like to eliminate IT sector from this discussion as IT tends to have many young people who are much more open minded than the previous generations)

Females at work are classified into two types, the complacent home hugger and the workaholic subordinate nagger. There are very few in the middle ground. Most women who wish to be taken seriously at work tend to err on the latter side.

Male dominated work places, pressure of balancing personal and professional lives and also the pressure to keep the lecherous male gaze away, are all reasons why women tend to become bossy inconsiderate logic machines when at work.

A woman who is sweet, understanding and people centric tends to get walked upon. Most men under her would not like her as a leader, because a boss needs to "hold the reins". Then there are also the rumor mongers who spread rumors of instances when she "invited" someone into her cabin or went on a "business trip" with somebody else. To counter all this, a woman tries to "be a man" at work, and again the men don't really like a stiletto wearing man telling them what to do!

It is a tough balance and I wonder if the world will ever be able to see a female boss and a male boss in the same light. So, no matter which side you are, dear lady, you will be bad mouthed and achieving balance will be an exceedingly difficult task.

Only when the male world realizes that a boss is a boss is a boss (this is something I picked up from my MBA classes :D) no matter male or female will this world become a better place for a female boss.

Dealing With Stupidity

I don't know who said the above quotes, but I do know that these are SO SO true.

Have you realized that MOST of the people in your office are REALLY stupid? I do not know how it happens but in most workplaces, you find that the average IQ is below 80 :|

Power, Position and Money add to this stupidity.

In most workplaces, there is a strict hierarchy of position, age, work experience etc... So you grit your teeth and handle it. If I, an average bloke, feel like this. I wonder how a genius feels in the work force! Maybe that is why all those IIT grads were paid so much more than I was, though they did the same work as I did. Maybe companies keep some people just so that their workforce IQ remains above 80; and to keep these super intelligent people from running away from the insanity, they pay them more.

Sometime, I remember wishing I could give a proper slap across the face of some of the stupid people. Its funny how no matter what kind of calculations you do to show stupid people that what they think is stupid, they DO NOT get it. Why? 'Cause they are stupid. If they understood calculations, they wouldn't be stupid in the first place.

I remember gritting my teeth and getting back to work after a heated session with a colleague. I would look at my pay slip and imagine a virtual line dividing my basic into two parts, the work basic and the stupidity handling basic.

People manage to work 'cause most of the time, no one cares. We don't care 'cause at the end of the day, the only thing we get by caring is a headache and some hostile colleagues.

But, what if we do care?

An year since I posted on this blog.

Let me start this new edition of my blog with a greeting of "Happy Friendship Day"! It was great being friends with you all this long. This blog has been a place where I vented out my frustration when I was angry, sadness when I was depressed and happiness when I was joyful.

Yup, you were the sounding box for my PMS :P

Anyways, the bitch has done a LOT of stuff the past year and she has joined a Post Graduation Programme in Management from one of the best Institutes in India. (Any guesses?)

From Witch Trials To Woman on Top

I was reading this article on McKinsey quarterly about the lack of women in corporate roles.

The article talks about how companies can "attract" more women and keep them, through various methods of "positive discrimination". It also analyzed why these measures still failed to change the scenario.

Though it was a nice initiative for McKinsey Quarterly to analyze this side of the glass ceiling, I believe it missed out one highly important point. The whole analysis focused on the fact that companies were not doing enough to raise the position of women, but are the women doing enough to actually rise in the organization?

Every other day, I get mails of invites from friends who get engaged/married or pregnant.
Girls of age ranging between 22 and 25 yrs, less than an year (and sometimes just a few months) into their careers choose to marry. Many of them giving up their job in the process. Many others make a shift to a different company, usually with an insignificant role.

When women themselves, at the prime of their age take decisions which they KNOW would kill their career, what can companies or policies do?

How many women do you see moving on to do a post graduation? How can a graduate, who spent most of her time thinking about a child and what to cook for dinner ever lead an organization effectively?

Men move out of a company if they find the job or responsibilities below their expectations. How many women would do the same? How many women would make a move to a different city if she was offered a better position?

How many women would remain childless till they turn 28-29, so that they can set up a career? How many parents let their girls stay unmarried till 27 so that she can pursue her dream career?

We don't require companies altering their policies to make women rise. We need the society to understand that the goals of men and women in this day and age are not different. As long as our thoughts stay in the 1800's, it does not matter what companies or the government do.

As long as a woman considers that her primary responsibility is making and "rearing" a family, the C-level positions will stay above the glass ceiling, made by herself.

It seems not many want to become millionaires. I think that this result couldn't have become so popular with just the girls trying to get 'fair-skinned'. The men seemed to have jumped into the bandwagon too. I knew this for quite sometime, but with John Abraham, Shahid Kapoor and even Shahrukh Khan (who I might say is not a great example of 'fair skin') advertising for various skin-whitening creams, I found it my responsibility to warn and maybe advice the millions of dark-skinned men out there.

First of all, dear dark-men, 'tall,dark and handsome' is what it was and WILL BE. NO girl dreams of a pansy boy. Even Shahid Kapoor had to grow a 6-pack to get his career going. [I had a crush on that guy from the time I saw him in the video by Aryans (given below). Its funny how geeky he looked then. I thought he looked hot - I was around 11 yrs old then! )

If you are looking for miracle cures, I'd suggest you try the umpteen grow-tall remedies. Maybe even the six-pack remedies! But, honestly, don't fall for the 'get white' remedies. No one except Michael Jackson succeeded and I am very sure, no one wants to emulate him (?).

If you REALLY are looking for something to make your face look better. I'd suggest you try make-up. Well! At least it works!

So, stop falling for random advertisements of stuff that doesn't work. Here's what you need to get that girl - or me 'cause the list is based on my opinions!

1. A for Attitude:
A LOT of men seem to believe that attitude implies being a champu rockstar.

That image doesn't work for SRK even! Flashy clothes on men DO NOT look good. DONOT wear reds/pinks/yellows EVER. Keep any other colour that you wear to a subtle shade which doesn't hurt the eye. If you use shades/sun glasses, try not to use the Rs 49 ones brought from a road side vendor. Shades are NOT your fast track to being cool!

Attitude refers to the way you react to situations. Anger is good to a point but don't over do it! Girls like guys who like their work, who want to grow in life and have long term goals and dreams. Girls don't give a damn about what you look like as long as you look decent (read presentable).

2. Humour:

Girls LOVE a guy who can make them laugh. Try not to look like a joker though.

3. Speech:

It is very important to sound civilized in your speech. Though most modern girls tolerate (or at least forgive) swear words, see that you say that even they sound civilized. It is not out of reason that girls love a British accent or they swoon over Derek Shepherd in Gray's Anatomy or Dr.Richard Burke in Friends. these guys have the 3 factors above EXACTLY right.

4. Respect Women:

Don't refer to girls as 'chics' or 'babes' or 'hotties'. It is OK to call your girlfriend one but not another girl, no matter who it happens to be. Do NOT refer to an ex-girlfriend with any word which is demeaning. It will send a direct signal that you will do the same with this girl if you two happen to break up.

5. Don't Cry:

No guy in this world except Enrique looks good being emotional.

Too many emotions are BAD. Most girls are emotional creatures and they are looking for someone strong to balance them out and help them through the craziness. They DO NOT want a partner to PMS with! Also try not to bring up conversations about 'the way it happens at home' or 'my parents say that...', girls DON'T want a sissy poo who runs to his mom all the time.

6. Being Rough is OK, Being Uncouth is NOT:

Girls like manly men. But, many men confuse being manly with being uncouth and unkempt. there is a difference between a properly trimmed beard and a 5'O clock shadow with a beard that hasn't seen the blade of a razor. No matter which style you prefer, try to make it look neat. A beard/mustache might be fine is it has a proper style and ample care has been put into maintaining it. Having long ghoulish hair anywhere on the body is not appreciated by most girls I know.
Also, it is VERY important that it goes with the whole look and image.

Working in an MNC - My Learnings

Most of you regular readers would be knowing that I started working a few months ago. In the past few months, I learned a lot about how corporates work.

Being a fresher right out of college, I was unaware as to how everything functioned. I believed that everybody worked with a feeling of 'my company'. However, I learned that it is hardly ever so.

People work on the basis of 'yearly objectives'. Everyone is given an objective for the year and all that people care about are achieving their objectives. It really does not matter whether the way you achieve the objective is good or bad for the company as a whole.

Also, there is the blame game. It is 'OK' to throw shit, as long as you can blame it on someone else. 'Proactive' thinking is what we were taught during our induction, but I guess there is a need for giving the training to not just the trainees but also the established employees. The whole process is confusing and weird.

If someone asks for help, think a thousand times before helping him - for sharing any work means sharing all the blame it might get with it . Trust has no place. Friendship has no meaning. I love the work I do, but I wish I loved the people too.

Somehow, growing up is not as fun as I thought it was. Thank God for sex.

A Tiny Chapter Of My Life - In The Open...

I had only 1 love in my life. He was the only person who could break my heart. Let's call him T. We were friends and I guess I was in a relationship before I got into one with him. Nityananda Swami - Cut him some slack!

The recent scandal about the self proclaimed and yet people made God Man Nityananda Swami not only shows how gullible people in this country are, but also how hypocritical they are!

I hate these sex scandals where the news channels try to prove that God-men are really human. Duh!

Why is it that
Lord Krishna could have 16000 wives, Dasrath 3 wives, Lord Venkateshwara 2 and they were Gods! While this seeming young man is not allowed to have a fling?

I am quite sure the 'actress' wasn't raped as I don't see her screaming bloody murder. Also, I don't think she is stupid enough to think she is Mother Mary and hope to give birth to another 'Son of God'.

This poor guy found that the all those messages and enlightenment through the Goddesses in his dreams were quite detrimental to his reproductive health. I don't know what happens to 'enlightened' people, but I guess they don't lose their libido.

Come on! God wants the enlightenment to pass on - and that's exactly what Nityananda Swami was doing. In the easiest and the most pleasurable way. Do you REALLY think all the able, young, God-men don't jerk off in the least? If you don't think so try to 'hold it off' for 2 months and see what happens!

This rule that the only thing God-men do in their bedrooms is meditate is like the curious case of 'OMG My parents have sex' Syndrome. People JUST can't tolerate thinking about their parents being ~~kinky~~ sex partners. Similarly, people JUST don't seem to digest the fact that a their declaration of a person being 'Godly' doesn't really halve the range of functions performed by his pee-pee.

For God's sake, Cut this guy some slack.

Why Does This Blog Exist?

I bet none of you thought this blog had a purpose. Well, voila it does!

The purpose of this blog is not to make people angry. No. It is not to spill out my anger either. Though, it is what I do here. Before that, here comes a small update from reality.

Lately, my parents (and especially my mom) have been trying to find a 'match' for me. I told them
blatantly that I 'don't like men'. Well, though it is far from the truth, it is still true in the case of arranged marriage.
I don't like men who want to go for an arranged marriage - by will or force. If a guy wants an arranged marriage by will, that means that he considers himself a loser - who will never find the 'right girl' or he considers all girls as bitches/sluts/you know where I am getting. If he choses the same by force, it means he is too much of a mama's boy - not something I want. Both ways, I don't want such a guy.

Why did I dole out this 'gyaan' to you?

Yes, the purpose of this blog.

Usually, a few days after I befriend a guy, I ask him to check out my blog. I then test his reaction to the url - bitch sena! Then the contents, the man hate, the anger, and the subtle amount of the nice me too. Most guys react rather violently to it, even before reading the blog. The rest give up on me and then there are the minority who are indifferent, and who somehow never get to associating the content with the real me. They are the ones who don't judge a person at face value and they are the ones who have a chance to go to the 'next level'.

Its not really a test, it is only a check whether the guy can handle me.

If it happens that I am forced into an arranged marriage, maybe this will help me keep away from most guys - who, I hope, will spread the message in the 'market' about my ineligibility for marriage.

Well , i differ here.

I finished my B.E at 21, started working..its been 4 yrs since then. M 25 now. Most of my peer group at work was elder to me, and are married by now, that leaves me with almost zero friends now.

I am quite bored of being
single now, earning decently well (and yes m not very ambitious), have a girl friend and we both plan to settle down together, so wht next - marriage of course.

Does that mean I have no ambition in personal life or professional life? Yes m not very ambitious, but m not very materialistic either. But that doesn't mean i have no idea where to lead my life. I know it and marriage

It's the survival of the fittest and I guess women choose men with good strength/power and men choose women with beauty. Final result is a better genetic pool! Why do guys like girls with big boobs? A girl can hardly control the size of her breasts (unless she got a surgery) but a guy can easily control how he advances in his career! Why crib about this?

I am in no way talking about an Audi. You are 25, I'd be surprised if a guy at that age would be rich enough to be able to rent a house + own a decent vehicle of transport + have enough money left to save at the end of it all.

It is of course important that you think of the future.

Would you be able to take care of another person's responsibility?

Will you give up your freedom - so as to do EVERYTHING together with your wife? Will your wife be able to do the same?

Are you mature enough to be able to handle relationships with a whole new family?

Will you be able to take care of a child? Bring up a whole human being?

Can you take decisions about other people's lives, your own life, your kids', your siblings, your parents and also your wife's?

I don't mean to say that you will need to do this single handed, but this is complicated stuff.

There is many a slip between the cup and the lip, sweetheart.

It's not so easy. And a guy who wants to marry just because he is alone.... I wouldn't call him mature.

Ideally you should try and study more, grow faster, not to own an Audi , but to give your future wife and children all the pleasures in this world that you can offer.

Marriage : Why does this word scare me?

There are very few words in this word which can impact me the way the word 'marriage' does.

Somehow,that word sends chills down my back. I don't understand how anyone can actually be entering an arranged marriage and seem super-duper happy.

Mostly, the girls are happy because they get to shop, have great clothes and better jewelery!

Many of my friends (girls) who are hardly 22 are already
married, and many of them are getting married soon. All of the married ones got married for only 1 reason

It's a great match and it won't come again

Now, given the girls are only 21-22 the groom was obviously around 25-26. I am sick and tired of explaining to each of these stupid girls that a guy who wants to get married at 25 can in NO WAY be a 'CATCH' let alone a prized one!!

Why?

'Cause....

A guy who wants to get married at 25 has NO idea what marriage means. Even if he is a Harvard Grad, he wouldn't have made enough of a career to think about having a dog around the house forget taking care of a family.
The guy has no ambition in personal life. A guy at 25 would want to go out and look for chics - NOT let his parents do the needful. This guy who wants to get married so young has no belief in himself that he can get a girl for himself! It is ot the sign of a 'good boy' mind you , it is the sign of a 'loser boy'.
No ambition in his professional life. If a guy KNEW for sure that he wasn't going to score with the girls, he would in the least try and get into a good position in his career and THEN try to get a girl. But, he isn't confident enough to think that he can even grow in his profession!
His abilities are over shadowed by his self image. No matter what his abilities are, given the points (2) and (3) above, his low self confidence just wouldn't let him be anything in life. YES! He will stay 'software engineer' forever and ever!!
Ditched!! The fact that so much responsibility will be pushed onto him right after marriage doesn't deter him, he has either had a bad break up or a girl he pursued refused his advances and then he gave up! (After just once!!)
Desperate! Come on! What else?! He is tired of jerking off to p**n and wants something better for free.

I know I was supposed to 'spill' the beans on a lot of my history, but I thought it'd be better for me to quote stuff in context than to write elaborate stories explaining 'How to lose a guy in 10 ways'.

So, till I get inspiration to be able to put my past into context, I thought I'd let people know of all the stuff
that turns me OFF when it comes to guys.

5. Mustache!

A mustache is something that I just can't imagine kissing. Yea Yea... Lips are kissed but the feel of a grizzly thorn bush is NOT something I want to experience. Given I stay in South India and also having moved to a place almost 'famous' for mustaches - my chances of meeting up decent clean shaved single guys are negligibly small.

4. Dogs!

I don't understand why guys have a thing for dogs. So many guys I know just luuurve dogs. The bigger the dog, the more the love for it. I , on the other hand, HATE dogs. Well, I am scared of them actually. I just don't like any animal except on T.V.

3. Body Odor!

When there are a thousand advertisements all around telling guys about the way to smell, it's weird how some just don't take a cue and get a deo. It's okay if he doesn't smell chocolaty - I would take any fragrance over the smell of sweat!

2. Melodrama

There is a problem with increasing metrosexuality - guys forgot that they need to be heterosexual before they are metrosexual. It is nice to see that guys have emotions but please gimme a break! I can't be your sounding box for all the frustration in your life. I hate it when a guy acts like he is PMSing. Please! leave the menstrual cramps to the ladies.

1. Marriage

Guys after a particular age seem to be obsessed with marriage. They speak too much about it. I dont know why Indian guys have a fetish for marriage itself but it is SUCH a turn off. just compare 'girl-friend' with 'wife' - makes me feel like puking. The word 'girl friend' gives an image of romantic outings, naughty clothes and crazy fun while 'wife' rings full of house keeping, managing a family, responsibility and NO-FUN.

So, if you aspire to be in my list of plausible 'the one's on my list then please keep the above in mind.

I know it has been a LONG LONG time since I posted.The reason is simple. Work. Well, there are a couple of other reasons too. One of them being, My guy count has just passed the 2 digit mark. I wanted to celebrate as soon as it touched 10 - but it seems this one was my fastest relationship. Ever.

When it comes to relationships, I am a Phoebee of sorts. Of all the relationships I have had, only 1 lasted beyond 6 months. Many of them weren't relationships either.

So, after the last 'relationship' which lasted all of 4 days, I've decided to bare it all on this blog. (No, you won't see a topless pic of me).

As, it seems I will never have a proper steady relationship anyways, I would as well use all my encounters as a tool to cure some writers' block.

The Confused Indian Male!

The male gender of the homo sapian species is not unknown for it's queer ways, but I believe that the queerest are found in the Indian sub-continent.

What is with the Indian culture that makes them so confused? Why is it that guys who KNOW for sure what they want to be professionally, have no clue as to what they want in their personal life?

If I go about categorizing guys in India according to their preference of a mate/girl friend/wife/partner there would be majorly 2 types of guys.

The first type are the guys who are looking for the innocent 'girl-next-door' turned Jenna Jameson in bed. These guys want an "innocent girl" till marriage/courtship (read 'till she meets him') . Their list of preferences goes something like this :

Beautiful, slim, delicate
Traditional
Religious
Highly Educated
No drinking/smoking but should let him drink/smoke
No prior relationships
Shy/Coy and softspoken
Innocent - please don't ask me to define this, it's better to find out from the guys who have this preference

These guys want to marry a girl who has had no brain development since class 5 and hope to "teach" her about the human body. They then expect this slender, beautiful thing to become their secret playmate and live happily forever after.

Now, given a guy is (un)lucky enough to get such a girl - he would be left begging for the one thing he wants rather needs from his wife aka sex.

Such girl is innocent not because she had an unnaturally high sense of morality which kept her from discovering the nuances of the adult body but because she never had an urge (read desire) to explore such avenues. Such a girl would also have a nice shield of morality and religion teaching her that sex is wrong and every sexual urge needs to be curbed. At the end of it, the male not only ends up begging ever fortnight for his due but might also be ripped apart from his other sources of pleasure like drinking/smoking/partying.

The Second type are the one's who are looking for the One-night-stand turned Mother Teresa.

These guys are looking for a girl who he knows is fun in bed and fun in life but whom he can also show to his mother. Some qualities they look for are :

Modern
Good in bed
Party Animal
Outgoing
Drinks
Has Attitude - (read spoilt)

This type of guy expects his high flyer socialite girlfriend to suddenly start wearing a traditional saree with a purdah, cook food for a dozen people and also secretly flirt with him.

These guys some how miss out the point that this girl can spare time to get ready for parties and make social visits because she has a dozen people weighing hand and foot over her. This girl will not all of a sudden turn into what people call "house wife materal". The funny part being, these guys also end up getting shocked when they learn that the girls has had relationshsips in her life and/or she is not a virgin. Duh uh!

I am quite sure most of the single guys reading this post are completely aware of what I just talked about. So, dear Indian guys, if you are in search of the above combinations - I must tell you it will be next to impossible to find the girl.

Growing up - College to Corporate Transition

Sometimes I wonder whether I am still too much of a kid. Too much of a kid to start working. During my induction, I felt a difference in people and ways. The same people who were getting drunk and wasted in college a few days ago had suddenly shifted to being competitive and yet team-spirited. Ways and methods had changed. We were being constantly judged for things we did, no matter where and when. People were competing for the attention and applause of the higher up(s). Jeering behind the back of the same person they extolled in various speeches was a common thing.

Being a person who says what she thinks, I found it different and also difficult. I went up to this Robert Pattinson look alike and told him "You are hot" - later I wondered if I shouldn't have done that. I had also said something "controversial" in a contest where I was asked what I'd want to do if I turned into a boy the next day.

"I have done everything that a guy must have done in his life"

This was in front of directors and heads of the company. Later on people said that I was very bold out there.

I don't know why it has to be different. We all know that we will be working for most of the rest of our life. We all know that we will be at the office for most of our waking hours. Bottom line, office is like a second home. Then how come people don't have fun while working?

I have been assigned a partner and she like that girl from school who took permission to miss sports and games classes so that she can finish her homework due next week! She is constantly of the opinion that "They are not paying us to have fun". But, why am I working if I don't enjoy it? Why are people working 24*7 to get more money when they don't have any time to enjoy it?

People who want to grow think that money is the solution to all their problems. But, having seen a workaholic dad who worked most of his life while sacrificing many aspects of his personal and family life to save or earn money, I think money does not matter after a point.

No matter how much I work and how much I progress, when I am 60 and retiring, my bank balance will still be only good enough to make ends meet. Colleagues would have forgotten me and got back to their work even before I say "Thank You". Through out my work life, I would prefer having a lot of fun and a lot of great memories to spend in idle nostalgia when I am old and jobless.

At that time, what matters is how many friends I made. Then, the only people who will be there for me, will be my family.

Losing all of the people who matter, to work my way up the corporate ladder is not a price I am willing to pay.

Iss Hotel Se Mujhe Bachao

My first day 'at work' - yesterday, was something I wouldn't forget in
a hurry. The training session started at 10 am and was supposed to end
at 6 pm, but ended at 9 pm. I filled up 'n' number of forms and got
tired of writing my name and decide I am going to name my kids 'BOY 1'
and 'GIRL 1' or maybe 'B 1' and 'G 1'. The internet in this hotel
costs 360 bucks an hour and there is no human civilization for about a
2 km radius outside this hotel. We have a curfew of 8 pm and our
sessions are scheduled till 7! This is EXACTLY like my college which
had decided that they were making such rules to produce perfect stay
at home wives and moms. Well, talking about girls, there are about 29
girls in a batch of 160, which is quite good. Also, there are guys who
are UNBELIEVABLY hot. One Robert pattinson look alike is driving my
hormones crazy. I am not the shallow kind and dont fall for faces or
bodies or sizes, just that I appreciate beauty without any
distinction. This hotel is the only place I will be all this month and
I really dont know why I dont love it. I have the cosy-est of beds. A
great bathroom, wonderful food all day- but I need some fresh air and
a nice party. We have a TV in our room which we are yet to turn on! A
swimming pool and a gym which we are yet to see and well I have done
nothing of note in the past few days other than talk to random
strangers. Today the session starts at 9 and I just cant sleep! They
should really make a reality show out of us.

Trying something new

BUT internet is like the air that I breathe and so I want to see if I can make it work this way. Bah! Its difficult to think logically while typing on a phone. Anyways, i wonder how this will get posted. Oh btw, my birthday is on 9th of August and if anyone of you is rich and single - do try and get me a laptop :-P I cant help being shameless!!

A New Beginning

It is past 1:00 am - It's Friday already! Tomorrow, I will take a flight to a new chapter in my life. Tomorrow, I start work.

8 months ago, the day I got placed into an MNC, and that too a non-IT job, given the recession and the decline of IT, I was thrilled beyond belief to see that I got into a job of my stream. As many of you might or might not know, I hate IT. I totally, totally despise anything that has to do with a computer which goes beyond easy graphical user interfaces. Well, I must admit that the hate springs out of an inability - an inability to write code that makes sense. Though my algorithms seem fine, my code is more like a transcript of a chat between me and the computer. Unlike my usual chats, the computer does most of the talking and a whole lot of beeping like it censored itself from saying a swear word. On the other hand, my generators and motors always seemed much more patient towards me, whirring away peacefully most of the time, quite tolerant to all the tests I subjected them to.

As per my wish, I will be an Electrical Engineer, it does sound very grand to read right now. It also makes all the software engineers sound like pansies. My father still seems uncomfortable about the fact that his little daughter might have to roam around factories or travel on her own. He would any day prefer the IT job she got - much more safer and comfortable. "You can sit all day in an air-conditioned room and then come back promptly by 5 pm - think about it", he said. But, I would prefer this anyday. I don't know any company who'd tolerate my coding skills especially in this period of recession.

Well, finally I got what I wanted, convinced everyone to let me take it. I have absolutely NO IDEA what I will be doing there or why they are paying me for doing it!

What I DO KNOW is that there are quite a few cute looking guys in there and after 4 years of isolation (a slight exaggeration) from the guy world, this is going to be something new. I don't intend to hook up with anyone - as I hear it is dangerous to be involved with people from the workplace and also I am starting to enjoy being single - I don't have to worry about phone bills 'cause of calling a different person everyday either as I'll be having my own money.

There is, however, a lot of dilemma in life now. I haven't ever cared once in my life about what people think of me. I was who I was, but the corporate world seems different and there are many questions troubling my mind . Should I be an introvert or an extrovert? Is it okay to be as open as I usually am? Would the guys or seniors take it in a wrong sense? Is it better to be girly? Will the guys accept a girl - A "southie" aka "maddu" at that?

Quite a lot of questions with the answers just about 48 hours away.

I am yet to know what it will be like, but I will keep you updated on what's happening, till then keep your fingers crossed for me and wish me all the best :) - I know I am one lovable Bitch! :D

MANipulators -1 : Secret Female Schemes

Have you ever been with a MANipulator?

Well, today I am only going to deal with manipulators who are female. I will talk about the male version in my forthcoming posts.

I know a lot of Manipulators. I know guy friends who are with manipulators and don't know that what they are dealing with.

I hardly manipulate people, I don't find reason in making a person miserable! I don't like miserable people.

When it comes to guys, I might be slightly old fashioned. I want my guy to be a guy. I don't want a love puppy running to lick my ankles. I want a guy with his head on his shoulders, who knows what he wants and who knows what I am. I am basically nice, but I won't play nice when I feel the other person needs a nice kick on the frontal lobe. I want an equal.

Some men think that courtship is all that is there in a relationship. After that point where she says "Yes" , the fun is gone. So, a guy wants to move on.

For me, its the opposite. I think the "chase" is only a small part of it all. Because, it is the most difficult phase. The "chase" involves perfection, both the partners needs to look, feel , be perfect only then will it go to the next part.

Unfortunately, most relationships go downhill after the chase is over. Both partners seem to change colour. How often is it not said that men and women change after marriage?

The truth is that, most people play a totally different game during the chase. Everything is rosy when you meet only a few days a week in nice clothes and wonderful manners. It just is not possible to be that way 24*7.

What has all this got to do with manipulators?

Well, manipulators are women who manage to prolong the chase, beyond the courtship and even beyond marriage. They never let the guy settle into a happy relationship.

How many married men are happy with their sex lives?

I'll leave it to you to find the answer out.

This e-mail landed in my spam folder and I opened it (just because) .

It was a letter by a woman who teaches other women to get men by being "hard to get".

Here is a small extract from her mail

A man meets a woman. He says, "You're a fine-looking woman. I'd like to go out with you and in about a year, we'll get married." She says, "Great! Works for me."

What's wrong with this picture?

Would you watch a movie if this were the plot? Of course not!

Why not? Because it would be BORING!

You wouldn't read a book like that, either. In fact, any book on love, whether it was published last week or 200 years ago - has more of a plot than that!
So why would you want YOUR LOVE LIFE to be boring - when you can create memories and have fun - and still be true to your highest self?

It is possible that some men might like this, but I know women who manipulate men to such an extent that they have a slave not a boyfriend.

How to know if she is a manipulator?

1. She keeps you miserable most of the time.

A friend told me how this goes. A manipulator would give just enough to make you hopeful. She will keep you miserable most of the time and when you are ready to give up, she will give you a glitter of hope. She KNOWS when you need that dose of happiness.

2. She acts indifferent most of the time but you know that she cares.

This is another trick. She will ignore you enough to make you feel like shit but she will "care" enough to make you feel honoured to receive that little amount of attention that you received.

3. She has a life beyond me, its okay if she doesn't have time for me.

There is a difference between having a life and having time for everything else but you. If it seems to be the second one, be vary.

4. You know you want to get out of it but you can't imagine your life without her.

Let me tell you this, if the above points are true - you will be much better off without her. Don't be a wimp, there are so many more fish in the ocean.

Ps: All the above points are for people who are genuine "couples". If you ask a girl out and she refuses, it is a refusal not a game she is playing. Don't stalk her in hope that she will come around - unfortunately, life isn't a bollywood movie!

Even after I've written this, I have an uncomfortable feeling that guys deserve it.

I know many guys who play girls for sex and it only seems logical that a girl plays to get what she wants too. Maybe its time guys changed their ways and went for a girl who they genuinely like and only when they think they are mature enough for a relationship or at least make it clear with the girl as to what they think they are up for in the relationship.

I don't see why guy-girl relationships need to be so complicated.
