2017 is a whole new quilting adventure

What a year. I'm in awe I made it this far.

So it's been a bumpy year for me. I have focused on my job and myself a lot. All good things.

Life has felt like it's been punching left and right. And I'm just again learning to roll with the punches.

Not always so grand at it...but I'm trying.

Next year is gonna be lovely! Because I'm using all that I've learned in 2016 and gonna take 2017 and make it through the WHOLE year....

I am so excited that Quilting Jetgirl is doing a goals linky.
I'm adding my own goals to this.

2017 while it's gonna be a roller-coaster ride...I'm going to remember the long haul.

Tackle some of my Works in Progress (WIP's) so I can eventually purchase some yummy new fabric.
Use the positive to heal - and heal I shall.

How did you do in 2015? Were you able to finish at least 6 of the goals that you posted and linked up in 2015? If so you are in luck! You qualify to enter our finale link up party! Melissa and I have some awesome prizes for those that met this goal.

The last three years have been so much fun, Melissa and I have really enjoyed managing and running A Lovely Year of Finishes.

We have had the opportunity to work with some incredible sponsors and we have been lucky to see so many wonderful finishes, and finish a few projects ourselves.

That being said, we have decided it is time to take a break from A Lovely Year of Finishes, and it is with heavy hearts that we are announcing the end of A Lovely Year of Finishes.

We want to thank each and everyone person who linked up with us over the last three years. Give yourselves a huge round of applause, there have been over 3,000 finished projects linked up to our blogs. Talk about amazing!

We want to thank our incredible sponsors. Your generosity has be unparalleled.

This doesn't mean that Melissa and I are going away or that our wonderful friendship is ending, merely that we want some time to re-focus ourselves, our blogs, and our sewing. We are excited for the future and we hope that you will keep up with your finishes.

When you don't sew at home...you take a trip - across the country apparently

A few weeks ago, I jumped on a plane and met total strangers.

Yep - something I would NEVER let my daughter do yet I did that exact thing.

Well it all started with bread. We seriously have some amazing quilters and people around. Em and I have been sewing together for a LONG time.

One day she posted about bread on Instagram and the rest is history.

I went on a quilting retreat with some quilty friends to the adorable town of Hamilton, Missouri.
Yes I flew to a whole other state to quilt.

We went to the retreat center for the Missouri Quilt Star Company.
And it was lovely.
They have transformed this small town into a quilters dream.

An entire main street of quilting stores!

So we happen to be there while it wasn't "too" muggy the ladies were telling me.

We were able to not only shop but to enjoy a tractor parade....seriously a tractor parade!

Thankfully I was able to watch from the inside of the quilting retreat building.
Me SPOILED....nah!

So yes...I haven't been quilting but I was planning just ONE project. Since I had to pack light. Pfft!

My lovely Fairly Merry had this pattern just published with Alison Glass.

And if you know me I ADORE triangles.

And flying geese {with bloc_locs these are the BOMB}

Drool!

Look at how much I got done! I love quilting!

Talking about drool we were able to take in some local cuisine.

Hank and Tank BBQ was seriously yummy. Being from the west coast..I know that I need more BBQ in my life.

Oh and Lowell smell as good as his food - just saying.

Let me share what I'm planning on finishing up this month.

I'm planning on cleaning my sewing room and packing up as much of it as I can. But also leaving out enough that I can keep sane. Is that possible with some of your stash hiding?

I am in serious need of a sewing reboot and I think this is the best thing for me.

As this has been my view for the last 4 months!
