ViewZone asked me to write a story about the Mayan Calendar. There is a common belief that the calendar holds a prophecy that the world will end in 2012. I knew very little about the whole topic when I began doing the research. I like to think I had an open mind. My investigation began with mainstream archaeology and expert interpretations of the calendar. But it soon took a turn that made my hair literally stand on end. I am now convinced that these prophecies are true.
To understand what is likely to happen to Earth and its people, you will need to remain calm and try to follow the facts. It's not as simple as some people describe. It requires an understanding of some fairly complicated science, but I think I can explain this in a way that you will easily understand.
The Calendar -- A Descrption
First, the Mayan calendar is also sometimes called the Aztec Calendar. This calendar is recorded as a carving on the Aztec "sun stone," currently on exhibit in the National Museum of Anthropology and History located within Chapultepec Park, Mexico City. There's a lot we could say about this carved stone but most of those details are irrelevant to the "end times."
Our modern calendar, called the Gregorian Calendar, has days, weeks, months and years. In the Mayan Calendar it's more complex. In fact, it's really three calendars at the same time.
First there's a religious calendar that takes 260 days to complete a full religious cycle. There are 20 "weeks" made up of 13 days. Each week has a special name, a graphic logo and unique meaning associated with it. This reminds me of the Chinese years which cycle through "the year of the rat" and "the year of the monkey," etc., each with it's special image and meaning.
Graphic logos for each of the 20 religious weeks.Next there is the solar calendar. This has 365 days, like our modern calendar. It's divided in 18 months of 20 days each. At the end of the cycle there's five special days considered to be unlucky because they don't belong to any month. Each of the months has a special name, graphic logo and some special significance, similar to the icons for the weeks in the religious calendar.
So it is possible, for any specific date, the calculate the religious week and the solar month and to predict the influences that might be guiding fate. But that's not really what's involved with the prophecy of 2012. To understand that we must look at the third calendar, called the long count.
While the first two cycles could be thought of as cogs or gears (see below) revolving through time, the long count is a linear number of days, starting from the first day, "1," and counting through each day to the present. Any day in history can be recorded using the long count and, with some simple mathematics, the corresponding religious week and solar month can also be found.
In writing this article, I thought about creating a javascript program that would do this calculation. My friend, Gene Matlock, then told me that when he was in Mexico, he found a place that sold wooden, mechanical calculators with gears that did just that. He said that Mexicans sometimes used these mechanical calendars to foretell the future or to find auspicious times for special events like marriage or births. Anyway, although it might be nice to know the religious and solar significance, it's the long count that foretells Doomsday.
Cog or "gears" can be used to compute the religious and solar cycles for any date.The days of the long count are numbered with an unusual system. Instead of writing numbers as we do, from right to left with each place being a multiple of 10 (i.e. 10000, 1000, 100, 10, 1), the Mayans had only 5 places.
The first place recorded a number from 0 to 20. To the left, the second place could have a range from 0 to 17; the third from 0 to 19; the fourth from 0 to 19 and the last from 0 to 12. The numbers were written from right to left, like our system, separated by a dot. Instead of multiples of 10, the first place had a multiple of 1 (like our system); the second place a multiple of 20; the third a multiple of 360; the fourth a multiple of 7200 and the fifth a multiple of 144000.
So a long count number, for example, could be written as 4.12.5.9.0 and would be calculated as follows:
(4 x 144000) + (12 x 7200) + (5 x 360) + (9 x 20) + (0 x 1) or a long count of 664,380.
It's not too difficult to realize that the maximum number which can be recorded this way would be12.19.19.17.20, although some researchers like to write it as 13.0.0.0.0. This amounts to a long count number of 1,872,000 days or 5125.36 years of our modern calculations. Obviously, the calendar is very old!
Over the years, archaeologists have found carved monuments that recorded the long count for known dates in Mayan history. Once a date was fixed in time, it was easy to determine "day 1" as August 11th, 3114 BC. And it was also easy to calculate the date at which the calendar would end --December 21st, 2012.
Trust me, just because the calendar ends doesn't prove that time, or the world, or life will end. We need to look carefully at December 21, 2012 and try to understand why the Mayans never calculated a date beyond this point in time. To do this we must move from Archaeology to the science of Astronomy and Astrophysics.
It's all about the Sun
It's ironic (or maybe not) that the Mayan Calendar is often called the "sun stone." While the calendar does have "solar" days, acknowledging the 365 days it takes for Earth to rotate around the Sun, it is also true that the Sun plays a key role in the final day of the "long count." To understand what will happen to the Sun on December 21, 2012, we need to review some scientific terms like "ecliptic," "barycenter," and "sunspots." These are important in the discussion that follows. We'll start with the most difficult one first.

Terms we will encounter...What is the Barycenter?
You've no doubt heard that Earth revolves around the sun. Well, actually, that's not quite true!
Have you heard the term "center of gravity"? It's a technical-sounding term for something pretty simple. It's the exact center of all the material (that is, mass) that makes up the object. For example, if you have a straight stick, like a ruler or yardstick, there's a place at the middle where you can balance it on your finger. That's its center of gravity.
But the center of gravity may or may not be the point that is exactly in the middle, distance-wise, of the object. Some parts of the object may be heavier (denser) than others. If you have something like a sledge hammer that is heavier on one end than the other, the center of gravity will be much closer to the heavy end than the lighter end.
To get an idea of where the center of gravity is, rest the ends of any object like the ruler or a pencil on one finger from each hand. Slowly move your fingers together without dropping the object. Your fingers will meet underneath the object's center of gravity. You can balance the object on one finger at that special place.
The actual center of gravity could be close to the surface or deep inside, depending on whether the object is flat like a ruler or a dinner plate, or "three-dimensional," like a box or a ball. And if you let the object spin (like when you throw it), it will try to spin about that point.
In the case of the Earth and the sun, both bodies actually revolve, or spin, around the very center of the mass (similar to center of gravity) between them. This point is called the "barycenter." Earth and the sun are "connected" by the gravity pulling them together. It's just like the light end and heavy end of the sledge hammer. Compared to the size of the sun, Earth is about like a flea on a cat! So the center of mass between the Earth and the sun is almost--but not quite--the very center of the sun.
In the case of a planet the size of Jupiter, which is 318 times as massive as Earth, the barycenter of Jupiter and the sun is a bit further from the sun's center. So, as Jupiter revolves around the sun, the sun itself is actually revolving around this slightly off-center point, located just outside its center. Thus, a planet the size of Jupiter will make the sun (or any star) appear to wobble a tiny bit. This picture shows you that the center of mass and barycenter can be slightly different points. It isn't meant to be very accurate!

We can take advantage of this bit of knowledge and look for large planets in other solar systems by learning to detect this type of tiny wobble in the star's position.

For now, let's forget all the small planets and focus on Jupiter. It makes one complete trip around the Sun every 11.861773 years. There's a new theory put forth by Dr. Rollin Gillespie which shows that Jupiter, and to a smaller degree the other less massive planets, may trigger the 11 year cycle of sunspots and solar flares.

Year 2012, The Most Important Year We Will Live Through Is Finally Exposed!

Year 2012 is a very mysterious year. Nobody knows for sure what will happen in year 2012. But, the year 2012 has been included in many prophecies and is very important spiritually. Here is the latest information and most informative articles and resources on the year 2012:

First and foremost we still do not know if anything at all will happen on December 21 2012, or at any time in 2012, or indeed at all. We will examine that more closely in just a moment.

But quite simply, if, and only if the prophesies are true, then one of three fundamental situations will likely result immediately before, during and after the 2012 event based upon what we know to date:
1. Human beings will undergo a massive Spiritual evolutionary transition whereby true, Divine, Spiritual reality will be realised and experienced. Focus and abilities will no longer be materially based, but rather Spiritually based.
If this comes to pass, humans will still inhabit a physical body, but the body will assume its true identity as a vehicle of learning. Material things will be seen for the illusion they truly are, and the emphasis will be on "service to others before service to self", and the building of the biblical "kingdom of heaven on Earth", a paradise where selfishness, war and disharmony will be a thing of the past.
2. The Planet Earth, a great, living planetary Spirit, will evolve or "graduate" to the 4th density, the next evolutionary level on His/Her own path of return to The Prime Creator. In this case all organic life on Earth will cease to exist, and will also transition to the 4th or 5th density, the Astral or Spiritual worlds, where life will continue as ever in the Astral or Spiritual body, depending on Spiritual progress.
3. Earth will experience some massive cataclysmic physical trauma which will destroy most if not everything on the planet. If this happens the result will be the same as in possibility 2. above but will happen in a different way. It is likely that all life will transition to the 4th or 5th densities, again depending on Spiritual evolution, before this cataclysm strikes, so there will be no suffering.
We are not intended by the Universe to suffer; all suffering is a direct result of the actions and thoughts of humans.
The most important potential outcome is the evolution of present day human beings; Homo Sapiens, to the next level: "Homo Spiritus".
So the big question is; will 2012 actually happen? Do we really only have just over 6 years left on this planet? If so, what do we need to do in those 6 years?
Regarding the "if"; I have personally carried out considerable and ongoing research into this.
My research has so far resulted in at least 50 significant to extremely compelling pieces of evidence that point to varying degrees to a major event in 2012, specifically December 21, 2012.

The Pyramid of the Sun, with an estimated weight of three million tons, is much larger than the Pyramid of the Moon, and was also built earlier. Each side is 222 meters long and it's over 70 meters high, making it the third largest pyramid in the world by volume, after the Great Pyramid of Cheops in Egypt and the unrestored pyramid at the Mexican city of Cholula. Unfortunately because of the building method a lot of reconstruction was needed to get it to its current state, and there's considerable uncertainty about its original appearance

The date December 21st, 2012 A.D. (13.0.0.0.0 in the Long Count), represents an extremely close conjunction of the Winter Solstice Sun with the crossing point of the Galactic Equator (Equator of the Milky Way) and the Ecliptic (path of the Sun), what that ancient Maya recognized as the Sacred Tree. This is an event that has been coming to
resonance very slowly over thousands and thousands of years. It will come to resolution at exactly 11:11 am GMT.

The Tzolkin is a 260-day calendar based around the period of human gestation. It is composed of 20 day-signs, each of which has 13 variations, and was (and still is) used to determine character traits and time harmonics, in a similar way to Western astrology. The Maya also used a 365-day calendar called the Haab, and a Venus calendar, plus others. They measured long time periods by means of a Long Count, in which one 360-day year (a "Tun"), consists of 18 x 20-day "months" ("Uinals"). Twenty of these Tuns is a Katun; 20 Katuns is a Baktun (nearly 400 years); and 13 Baktuns adds up to a "Great Cycle" of 1,872,000 days, ( 5200 Tuns, or about 5125 years).

Mayan scholars have been attempting to correlate the Long Count with our Western Gregorian calendar, since the beginning of this century. There has been massive variation in the suggested correlations, but as early as 1905, Goodman suggested a correlation only 3 days from the most popular one today. Known as the GMT correlation, or "correlation # 584283", this was finalized in 1950, and puts the start of the Great Cycle ( day 0.0.0.0.0) on 11th August 3114 BC, and the end-date (known as 13.0.0.0.0.) as 21st December 2012.

Jose Arguelles has pointed out that the Tzolkin is a harmonic of the Great Cycle, and can be used to map history, as if it is measuring not individual gestation but species gestation, since 5 Great Cycles add to exactly 26,000 Tuns; the "Grand Year" or precession of the equinoxes - a higher harmonic of 260.

NOTE: The astronomer Philip Plait has stated very clearly that the Mayan calendar does not end in 2012 at all, that it is like the odometer on your car, as each section of the odometer reaches 9 and then clicks over to 0, the next number to it starts a new cycle, so that when all the numbers again reach 0 all the way across the odometer - the last number will change from 1 to 2 and the new cycle starts all over again.

Sunspot Cycles; Adrian Gilbert and Maurice Cotterell, in their book the Mayan Prophecies, say that the end of the Great Cycle is the culmination of a series of long-term sunspot cycles which will flip the sun’s magnetic field, causing earthquakes and flooding on earth. Moreover, the changing magnetic field will alter the endocrine production of the pineal gland. John Major Jenkins has pointed out that the detailed graphs of the cycles do not actually show significant termination points at the end of the Great Cycle; click here for Jenkins' full unabridged review of The Mayan Prophecies.

According to John Major Jenkins, it will take 36 years to precess through the Galactic equator. The Galactic Alignment "zone" is
1998 +/- 18 years = 1980 to 2016. This is "era 2012"

August 15, 2006: On July 31st, a tiny sunspot was born. It popped up from the sun's interior, floated around a bit, and vanished again in a few hours. On the sun this sort of thing happens all the time and, ordinarily, it wouldn't be worth mentioning. But this sunspot was special: It was backward."We've been waiting for this," says David Hathaway, a solar physicist at the Marshall Space Flight in Huntsville, Alabama. "A backward sunspot is a sign that the next solar cycle is beginning."

"Backward" means magnetically backward. Hathaway explains:
Sunspots are planet-sized magnets created by the sun's inner magnetic dynamo. Like all magnets in the Universe, sunspots have north (N) and south (S) magnetic poles. The sunspot of July 31st popped up at solar longitude 65^o W, latitude 13^o S. Sunspots in that area are normally oriented N-S. The newcomer, however, was S-N, opposite the norm.

This tiny spot of backwardness matters because of what it might foretell: A really big solar cycle.Solar activity rises and falls in 11-year cycles, swinging back and forth between times of quiet and storminess. Right now the sun is quiet. "We're near the end of Solar Cycle 23, which peaked way back in 2001," explains Hathaway. The next cycle, Solar Cycle 24, should begin "any time now," returning the sun to a stormy state.
Satellite operators and NASA mission planners are bracing for this next solar cycle because it is expected to be exceptionally stormy, perhaps the stormiest in decades. Sunspots and solar flares will return in abundance, producing bright auroras on Earth and dangerous proton storms in space: full story.
But when will Solar Cycle 24 begin?
"Maybe it already did--on July 31st," says Hathaway. The first spot of a new solar cycle is always backwards. Solar physicists have long known that sunspot magnetic fields reverse polarity from cycle to cycle. N-S becomes S-N and vice versa. "The backward sunspot may be the first sunspot of Cycle 24."
It sounds exciting, but Hathaway is cautious on several fronts:
First, the sunspot lasted only three hours. Typically, sunspots last days, weeks or even months. Three hours is fleeting in the extreme. "It came and went so fast, it was not given an official sunspot number," says Hathaway. The astronomers who number sunspots didn't think it worthy!
Second, the latitude of the spot is suspicious. New-cycle sunspots almost always pop up at mid-latitudes, around 30^o N or 30^o S. The backward sunspot popped up at 13^o S. "That's strange."
These odd-isms stop Hathaway short of declaring the onset of a new solar cycle. "But it looks promising," he says.
Even if Cycle 24 has truly begun, "don't expect any great storms right away." Solar cycles last 11 years and take time to build up to fever pitch. For a while, perhaps one or two years, Cycle 23 and Cycle 24 will actually share the sun, making it a hodgepodge of backward and forward spots. Eventually, Cycle 24 will take over completely; then the fireworks will really begin.
Meanwhile, Hathaway plans to keep an eye out for more backward sunspots.

We're not from Milky Way

Astronomical updates of 2012 are pouring in. We are grateful for the Mayan Calendar for pointing the way. It is a good map but now, thru science, we are starting to see the actual landscape.

Have you ever looked out into the night sky and seen the Milky Way Galaxy? Did you notice the obvious tilt? It is at a steep angle to the straight line of the horizon. Why?
It turns out that our solar system appears to belong to another galaxy that is colliding with the Milky Way. This was recently discovered when scientists were trying to figure sources for "dark matter" that would account for forces we can measure but not see visibly. Using near-infrared (wavelengths of light outside human eye andoptical telescopes) a huge sister galaxy circling the Milky Way was discovered. It's called the Sagittarius dwarf galaxy (SGR for short).

For those keen on the 2012 data, this is the reason our entry point to the Rift, center, heart (HunabKu) of the Milky Way is thru Sagittarius. The two collide at that point. This explains why our solar system is at an angle to the plane of the galaxy and also why we dip above and below that center line every 12,000 yrs or so.

But the trail gets hotter - literally. Moon shots from the 1960s revealed glass on the moon. Glass is made from intense bursts of heat on sand. The event happened within the last 30,000yrs ago. Ancient petrogrpahs of primirtive people (archeological carvings) from that era (12,000+y.a.) show the sun causing extreme energy bursts changing earth atmosphere.

...Next clue - the current 11 year Sun Spot Cycle has passed the minimum (sun spot activity should have begun over a year ago and has not for the first time ever). This appears to be caused by a gravitation field influencing the sun.

The only field large enough would be from - the center of the galaxy.

What does all this mean? Putting it all together, it implies the 2011-2012 event is a natural cycle of solar maximum bursts which could scorch all or parts of the earth. How is the world preparing?

Russia is building a huge underground city to hold 60,000 people, the YAMANTAU Mt Complex.

Norway has already built enough facility for their entire population to go under ground. Sweden. working with NATO has created an underground seed bank (a modern day Noah's Ark).

And here in the USA?

The Bush family has made one of the largest land purchases in history for their own personal private compound in Paraguay (the only inland nation of South America) and told the rest of us to fend for ourselves. Now that is Grand Old Party Republican Leadership for ya!

The zodiac cross rotates during the precession of the equinoxes against the backdrop of the Galactic Cross with one revolution in 26.000 years (length of a Great Year or Platonic Year). The Galactic Cross rotates with one revolution in 220 million years (time of the revolution of the Solar System around the Galactic Centre). That’s why the Galactic Cross is regarded as a fixated cross during a precession cycle, its rotation can be neglected.

The two crosses (Zodiac Cross and Galactic Cross) form an eight pointed cross and four times during a precession cycle they overlap. The moments of conjunction are called a Great Celestial Conjunction (for details see our paper ‘Crucifying the Earth on the Galactic Cross’ - Smeykavov, Wicherink 2006). It’s the cosmic event that is associated with John Major Jenkins Galactic Alignment. The next one is occurring right now during era-2012 on the winter and summer solstices

The points Z and Z’ in the picture above are the intersections of the ecliptic with the Galactic Plane and these crossings have been associated by Schele with the Maya Sacred Tree, they are the Gemini-Taurus (Z’) nexus and Sagittarius-Scorpio (Z) nexus. As we will demonstrate later in the Maya artefacts these points are often depicted as two separate crosses XX. We add to Schele’s observations that theMaya Sacred Tree is also identical to the red cross in the picture above, the intersection of the Galactic Plane with the Solar System’s plane and it’s perpendicular axis to this intersection. This cross is the cross that occurs in the Fejérváry-Mayer Codex with the Sacred Tree symbols on it

The Galactic Cross and the Maya Sacred Tree therefore are interchangeable concepts!

We have found abundant X, XX and 8 pointed crosses in the Maya artefacts and in all cases they are associated with the Maya Sacred Tree! These examples express the idea of a rotating zodiac cross against the backdrop of a Galactic Cross. The occurrence of these crosses in the Maya artefacts and their association with the Maya Sacred Tree in their astronomical context can be explained by the Earth Cross and the Galactic Cross as proposed in this article.

Earth Cross

One could argue that the Maya couldn’t possibly have understood that the Zodiac’s equinox and solstice axis form a cross and that this cross rotates along the ecliptic during a precession cycle. We have named this cross in our paper ‘Crucifying the Earth on the Galactic Cross’ the Earth Cross.

The crosses under the armpits of the Maize God depicted at the Lower Temple of the Jaguars at Chichen Itza represent the crossing places of the ecliptic and the Milky Way (as we will demonstrate later). But there is one very remarkable detail about this picture. Left and right of the face in the centre we see two crosses, one vertical aligned, and one slanted. They suggest the rotational movement of the four pointed cross (the Zodiac Cross).

The study's map of M giants depicts 2 billion years of Sagittarius stripping by the Milky Way, and suggests that Sagittarius has reached a critical phase in what had been a slow dance of death.
"After slow, continuous gnawing by the Milky Way, Sagittarius has been whittled down to the point that it cannot hold itself together much longer," said 2MASS Science Team member and study co-author Martin Weinberg of the University of Massachusetts. "We are seeing Sagittarius at the very end of its life as an intact system."
Does this mean we are at a unique moment in the life of our galaxy? Yes and no.
"Whenever possible, astronomers appeal to the principle that we are not at a special time or place in the universe," Majewski said. "Because over the 14 billion-year history of the Milky Way it is unlikely that we would just happen to catch a brief event like the death of Sagittarius, we infer that such events must be common in the life of big spiral galaxies like our own. The Milky Way probably dined on a number of dwarf galaxy snacks in the past."
On the other hand, Majewski and his colleagues have been surprised by the Earth's proximity to a portion of the Sagittarius debris.
"For only a few percent of its 240 million-year orbit around the Milky Way galaxy does our Solar System pass through the path of Sagittarius debris," Majewski said. "Remarkably, stars from Sagittarius are now raining down onto our present position in the Milky Way. Stars from an alien galaxy are relatively near us. We have to re-think our assumptions about the Milky Way galaxy to account for this contamination."
The new findings will help astronomers measure the total mass of the Milky Way and Sagittarius galaxies, and probe the quantity and distribution of the invisible dark matter in these systems.

For a long time the professional scientific community has resisted the thought
that the different time periods of the Mayan calendar are driving cosmic and human evolution through their influence on consciousness. While of course a large number of professional Mayanists have worked with elucidating the structure of the calendar system of the ancient Maya there has always been a resistance to acknowledging that there would be a reality behind these energies. Hence, even though it may not have been said so directly these cosmic energies have often been regarded as some kind of superstitions.

A beginning of a shift in attitude now however seems to be on its way. At an international conference in Systems Theory at the University of Liege in Belgium Professor Tadeja Jere Lazanski won the award for best scientific paper in the CASYS'09 (Computing Anticipatory Systems) conference:

The paper outlines the nine levels of evolution that are developed according to the Mayan calendar system and places them in the context of Systems Theory. In short Dr Jere Lazanski is driving the thesis that what the ancient Maya saw as a plan driven by divine energies is what now is generally referred to as the big picture.

This initial breakthrough into mainstream science of the true Mayan calendar system of Nine Underworlds and Thirteen Heavens is very significant and it opens for the first time a road to discussing not only the Mayan calendar, but also the many evolutionary progressions that it describes in certain scholarly settings.

It is also noteworthy that, in contrast, the urban legend of a "galactic alignment" as the basis for the Mayan Long Count for good reasons has consistently been rejected by professional scientists (see for instance Vincent Malmström,

That the breakthrough into established science of the True Mayan calendar system first happened in Systems Theory is understandable. It is only from the perspective of the whole system that the Mayan calendar can be seen to make sense and any specialized science such as professional Mayanism, history, biology or physics would have to undergo so significant changes in its methodology and general approaches in order to recognize the validity of the Mayan calendar system that this would only happen against a much greater resistance.

I congratulate Professor Jere Lazanski for her contribution to science and feel this recognition indicates the beginning of an increased openness in the scientific community to the deeper meaning of the Mayan calendar.

On page 35, he states, "The early Zapotec capital of Monte Alban is located on a mountaintop outside of present day Ozxaca. Most structures at Monte Alban are oriented 4 degrees to 8 degrees east of north. Structure 1, a strange arrow-shaped building is different. Archaeoastronomers Anthony Aveni and David Linsley determined that this building loosely points to the setting positions of the five bright stars of the Southern Cross. This alignment occurred in the precessional era of 250 B.C. when these structures were built. Overall, the loose 3 degree range of the alignment is not very impressive. However, Aveni noted another alignment that yields more interesting results. The perpendicular to Structure J's baseline shoots through what was an opening or doorway in Structure P points northeast to where the bright star Capella was seen to rise in the processional era of 275 B.C. During this time Capella made its first reappearance in the predawn sky (its heliacal rise) on May 8, which is the first solar zenith passage date at the latitude of Monte Alban. Solar zenith passages (when the sun passes through the zenith at high noon) were important indicators of the zenith center and told the Mesoamerican farmer when the rainy season was about to commence. Solar zenith passages occur only within the Tropics, that is between latitudes 23.5 degrees S and 23.5 degrees N. Amazingly platform Structure B through which the Capella observations were sighted, houses Monte Alban's famous zenith tube. This vertical tube leads into an underground chamber where zenith passage measurements of the sun and stars could be made. Zenith tubes have been found at other sites, such as Xochicalco in Central Mexico.

They probably understood that the zenith center was located in 'time' as well as in space, because solar zenith passages occur only twice every year. The solar year (the haab), the tzolkin and intervals between zenith passages all contributed to the ancient Mesoamerican's developing calendric cosmology. It was the synchronization in time of key points in these different cycles that would define the center of time and space. However, it might be better to say that key alignments in large time cycles open the doorway to the center of spacetime, rather than define that center.

Teotihuacan, the great Toltec metropolis where the Fifth sun was born, also contains evidence of having been constructed according to an astronomical plan. Several scholars have argued that an alignment with the Pleiades was responsible for the founding orientation of Teotihuacan. The axis perpendicular to the famous Street of the dead pointed to the setting position of the Pleiades. The two "pecked crosses" that scholars believe were used to lay out the city lie along this axis. The pecked cross in the group of structures called the Viking Group is just east of the Street of the Dead, and the Cerro Colorado pecked cross is some distance to the west.

John Major Jenkins tells us this in his introduction:

"The eclipse is the path traveled by the sun, moon, and planets through the sky. Twelve constellations lie along the ecliptic, and the sun passes through all twelve during the course of one year. The ecliptic cross over the Milky Way at a 60 degree angle near the constellation Sagittarius. As such, it forms a cross with the Milky Way, and this cosmic cross was called the Sacred Tree by the ancient Maya. (The cross form was also known as the "crossroads." Amazingly, the center of this cosmic cross, that is right where the ecliptic crosses over the Milky Way is exactly where the December solstice sun will be in A.D. 2012. This alignment occurs only once every 25,800 years.

"The Milky Way is observed as a bright, wide band of stars arching through the sky. In the clear skies of ancient Mesoamerica, many dark, blotchy areas could be observed along the Milky Way's length. These are "dark cloud" formations caused by interstellar dust. The most prominent of these is called the "dark-rift" or the "Great Cleft" of the Milky Way. It looks like a dark road running along the Milky Way, and it points right at the cosmic crossing point, the center of the Maya Sacred Tree, right where the sun will be in 2012! The Maya called this dark-rift the Black Road, or the Road to the Underworld. They seem to have imagined it as a portal to another world, and the December solstice sun can enter it only in A.D. 2012.

"The area of the sky where all of these symbols and celestial objects converge is the center of our Milky Way Galaxy. This was perhaps the most astounding thing I discovered. The par of the Milky Way that the December solstice sun will conjunct is also where the center of our Galaxy (the Galactic Center) is located. It is the cosmic womb from which new stars are born, and from which everything in our Galaxy, including humans, came.

considering the vast amount of space between our sun and the center of the Milky Way

According to many prophecies something important is about to happen in 2012.In 2012 the centre of the Galaxy is at 0 degree of the Western zodiacal sign Capricorn. 0 degree Capricorn is the point of the zodiac where the Sun is during the December solstice.
At December 21, 11.12 GMT during the December solstice the Sun is at the exact centre of the Galaxy. According to the Mayas the center of the Galaxy is the cosmic womb: the place of dead, transformation, regeneration and rebirth. This moment shows the end of their calendar.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE ASTROLOGICAL CHARTThe Sun is at 0 degrees Capricorn, the point of the December solstice. It makes a sextile to Neptune, right at the beginning of Pisces. This is an almost exact sextile. The orb is less then half a degree. This aspect can point towards a spiritual experience, a loss or both.

Jupiter has a central place in this because it is the focal point of the energy. This indicates changes in our religious systems, beliefs, philosophical systems. These fall under Jupiter.

Another notable configuration is the T-square with Neptune as focal point:

Jupiter makes a square (90 degree aspect) to Neptune.
Neptune makes a square to Venus.
Venus opposes Jupiter, this is the central opposition that activates the yod.

Therefore Neptune, the planet of spirituality, ascension, confusion and floods is a cruxial planet in this chart.

THE CHINESE FOUR PILLAR CHART OR THE STORY OF THE TWO DRAGONS

I have made a Chinese Four Pillar Chart. This type of chart contains of four pillars that are dependend upon the hour, day, month and year. Because the hourly pillar depends upon the location I have confined myself to the pillars of the day, month and year. These are the same for the entire world. In the roots of the chart (the lower part of the pillars) we find a rat that is surrounded by two dragons. The dragons almost seems to be making plans to eat the rat.
The dragon represents the ouroboros, the mythological dragon or snake that bites its own tail. According to Mayan cosmology this ouroboros symbolises the Milky Way.
The dragon is an earthly sign, the rat is a water sign. Therefore this chart contains water and earth.
In the stems (the top of the chart) we find yang fire. This is the strong fire of the Sun or a natural fire.
In this chart water is the strongest element. It can be found in the rat and in the two Yang Waters.
A meteorite falling in the ocean would be one expression of this chart. Or a vulcan (fire and earth) exploding and causing a tsunami (water). It could also indicate floods. Water and Earth the strongest elements of this charts are enemies to one another. Since Water is more powerful in the chart, this may indicate largescale floods. Therefore of all the events possible large scale floods are the most likely.
This is confirmed by the Western chart in which Neptune plays a crucial role.
In my opinion what this chart indicates is that the polluted energy of the collective unconsciousness will turn against humanity. Whatever happens, it will be an expression of the energy that is radiated by a humanity that is unable to live in peace and to make the right choices (for peace, welfare, health and inner spirituality).

2012: Controversy - the Creation Cycles

Over the decades much discussion has focused on finding the exact correlation
between the Mayan Long Count and the Gregorian calendar. Most researchers i
n the field have now come to agree that the so-called GMT correlation, placing
the beginning of the Long Count 4 Ahau 8 Cumku on the Julian day 584 283,
August 11, 3114 BC, is correct. This means by consequence that it will end on
December 21, 2012 and most, such as Jose Arguelles, John Jenkins and
Terence McKenna, who have taken an interest in the calendar of the Maya,
have endorsed this date as the end of the current cycle.

In "SC" # 68, Michael Glickman interpreted the 1997 Etchilhampton "Grid" crop formation (above) as a pointer to 2012. The formation was a 30 x 26 checkerboard-like grid, giving a total of 780 squares. This, Michael theorized, could indicate the thirty 26-week periods between 1997 and 2012.

Geoff adds that the 780 squares of the grid are exactly divisible by the TZOLKIN, or Mayan Sacred Calendar, which is a grid of 260 squares with sides of 13 x 20. Three Tzolkins fit into the crop grid pattern. Two fit straight in and the third after bisection.
The grid seems related to a "map" called "Psi Bank Warp and Holonomic Woof" mentioned in a book called "Earth Ascending," by Jose Arguelles (page 121). The "map" consists of eight Tzolkins joined together showing relationships between the Mayan calendar, the "I Ching" and the 64 DNA codons. Arguelles researched the Mayan calendar, physics, philosophy, geomancy and the "I Ching," and concluded that mankind is creating a "noosphere," or mind layer, around the Earth, which is evolving towards the "Omega Point of Planetary Awakening" in 2012, according to Teillard de Chardin.

Controversially appearing over two consecutive nights at Silbury Hill, Wiltshire on 2-3 August, according to resident 2012 prophecy expert and numerical conundrum whiz Geoff Stray, this vast wheel of ancient Maya symbols included “the double square spiral - the Maya symbol for jaguar snouts, which indicates an entrance to the underworld”. Given that, as is now widely known, the Maya calendar indicates an end-of-time point in the year 2012, this gave the UK newspapers something to get their teeth into, the Daily Mail dubiously proclaiming it ‘The Doomsday Crop Circle’. Much of the speculation about the 2012 connections made in the wake of this formation was highly questionable, but it made good headlines. Not that the press needed a genuine phenomenon to fill its columns; indeed the Sunday Express went out of its way to debunk the Mayan glyph, devoting two pages to doing this, perhaps in an effort to ‘get one over’ on its rival newspaper.

Among the many claims and counter-claims made about the symbolism of this formation, one widely-circulated e-mail article by C Lewis (pseudonym) from Australia stated the Mayan wheel depicted a ‘Calendar clock’, counting down to 2012.Joe Mason explains the Aztec Sun Stone Calendar. The outer ring portion of the Stone is said to be twin serpents, one light and the other dark. I believe the two represent the twins, Quetzalcoatl and Xolotl. They relate to Venus, corresponding to The Morning Star and Evening Star. Quetzalcoatl, of course, is also known as Kukulkan (or Kukulcan) and the Feathered Serpent. Perhaps the depiction of two types of feathers in the center of the formation hint at the feathered twins of the Aztecs. They are positioned in a general Vesica Piscis arrangement, also suggestive of duality.

Joe Mason, contributed this excerpt from Moira Timms' book, "Beyond Prophecies and Predictions" (p. 256): " "The name Quetzalcoatl is derived from the quetzal bird of Guatemala and Mexico. The quetzal had golden-green and scarlet plumage, and was considered the most beautiful of all birds. "Quetzal" also means precious. "Coatl" is serpent. In the Maya language, "Kukulcan" means approximately the same thing. According to Hunbatz Men, "Ku" is sacred, God. "Kul" is coccyx, the base of the spine, where latent spiritual energy resides. "Can" means serpent. "Kukulcan" therefore is synonymous with "kundalini" - which is what the Kukulcan/Quetzalcoatl archetype is all about, of course. To be iconographically correct, however, the god Quetzalcoatl is not himself the feathered serpent, but the one who emerges from the serpent, just as the spirit emerges from the body through the top of the head, and the Morning Star emerges from the horizon."

69 Venus was an important astrological symbol for the Mexica and was called "Tlauixcalpantecuhtli", which means - Lord of the House of Dawn. The planet had two aspects and was shown and revered as two gods. One, as Morning Star, was kind, and was the Precious Twin, Quetzalcoatl. He held the sun in the sky in the morning. His dark twin Xolotl ruled Venus in the Evening and during the night. Xolotl pushed the sun into darkness.

Interestingly, ancient myths tell of the Creator Serpent. James Churchward wrote that this does not represent the Creator, but rather, the way the Creator creates. Joseph Campbell wrote that the ancients usually used the serpent to represent change, by the death/rebirth of shedding the old skin. The symbols seem to tell us that the Creator creates through changes. The Aztec twin serpents fit well with the same meaning.

The outer ring of the "Aztec" crop circle formation has 20 x 2 = 40 segments. I believe this may be related to two interlaced five-pointed stars, as displayed in a number of crop circle formations.

The cropcircleconnector.com people explain: August 4, 2004 Silbury Hill, Wiltshire, England - Whoever, or whatever, is responsible for the August 2 to 3, 2004, crop formation at Silbury Hill, the design in its border is a mirror image of a rare statue of the Aztec God, Xochipilli, The Prince of Flowers, Maizes, Love, Games, Beauty, Song and Dance. Xochi means 'flower,' while pilli means either prince or child. In the mid-1800's, a 16th century Aztec statue of Xochipilli was unearthed on the side of the volcano Popocatapetl near Tlamanalco, Mexico. The statue is of a single figure seated upon a temple-like base.

Both the statue and the base upon which it sits are covered in carvings of sacred and psychoactive flowers including mushrooms (Psilocybe aztecorum), tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum), morning glory (Turbina corymbosa), sinicuichi (Heimia salicifolia), possibly cacahuaxochitl (Quararibea funebris), and one unidentified flower. The figure itself sits crosslegged on the base, head tilted up, eyes open, jaw tensed, with his mouth half open. The statue is currently housed in the Museo Nacional de Anthropologia of Mexico.

The ancient Aztec statue's repeating base design of 90-degree mazes back-to-back is similar to, but curving in the opposite direction of, the August 3, 2004, border at Silbury Hill.

Historically, the Aztec name for the huge basaltic monolith is Cuauhxicalli Eagle Bowl, but it is universally known as the Aztec Calendar or Sun Stone. It was during the reign of the 6th Aztec monarch in 1479 that this stone was carved and dedicated to the principal Aztec deity: the sun. The stone has both mythological and astronomical significance. It weighs almost 25 tons, has a diameter of just under 12 feet, and a thickness of 3 feet.
The Mexicans, as all other Meso-Americans, believed in the periodic destruction and re-creation of the world. The "Calendar Stone" in the Museo Nacional de Antropología (National Museum of Anthropology) in Mexico City depicts in its central panel the date 4 Ollin (movement), on which they anticipated that their current world would be destroyed by earthquake, and within it the dates of previous holocausts: 4 Tiger, 4 Wind, 4 Rain, and 4 Water. .
Every 52 years the tonalpohualli and the xiuhpohualli calendars would align. This marked what was known as a Mesoamerican "century."
Tonatiuh's Face is the face of the sun, Lord of Heaven, around which takes place all daily and periodic phenomena.
First ring from Center. Four Ollin representing the Earthquake Epoch or Sun. The four epochs represented inside the square portions of this symbol correspond to the four previous epochs also called suns.
Second Ring - The second ring from the center is composed of 20 named days contained in one month, also used for naming years. Each year starts on one of four of these 20 days.
The Calendar date '4 Ollin' will be in 2012. Actually I made a mistake, in that only 19 fine lines show up for each inner clock-hand, not 20 (couldn't see from early photos)!
Hence the inner calendar actually reads (6 + 6).19.19 = 12.19.19 rather than 12.20.20 = 13.0.0 as for any full Sun of 5200 years. That is like writing "999" just before "1000", and means (like on the outer dial) that the end of the Fourth Sun is near: but only one year and not 8.67?
Alternatively, something important might be scheduled to happen next year (at the end of 2005), then something again in December 2012? A lot of intellectual content for a fake! Some additional physical or testimonial evidence is perhaps needed

This crop circle is communicating harmomics of the "Time of the Sixth Sun" we are currently in the Fifth Sun time era.

In the Crop circle "Inner circle" there is a Six pointed Star like star of David points=Six and Star=Sun thus means "Sixth Sun" the time era coming upon the completion of this current 5th Sun. These six points form the 6 suns/worlds/eras:

You will notice many crop circles have harmonics that appear related.
The Mayan periods/cycles of Time known as SUNS. Some sources cite we are in 4th Sun and some cite 5th Sun. These are the same depending upon if you start counting at "zero" or "one"

We are currently in the (4)th or (5)th SUN depending upon where start counting. And we are moving into either the (5)th or (6)th SUN/world again depending on where you start counting.
Best guess is that we are entering SIXTH SUN according to Maya 2012 date. The image shows but one of them is a shift or change in the harmonics of creation. Some Crop Circles are communicating this shift/change.
The current Mayan Tzolkin has 13 tones and the Sixth Sun Tzolkin has 17 tones. These numbers 13 and 17 can be found in various Crop Circles. As other related numbers like the "center" number [7] or [9]. Which are the center tones of each tzolkin respectively.

In The Mayan Factor by José Arguelles, we understand that LAMAT marks the beginning of the final AHAU cycle which includes all 13 Katuns. This final cycle is a culmination of the Baktun of the Transformation of Matter and began in the year 1756 to be completed in the year 2012. The energy of LAMAT is to ‘Seal [the whole mind of the world] with the Star-Seed Harmony’. LAMAT heralds a new way of living on Earth and a new experience and understanding of material life, including our own bodies. This is certainly reflected in the beautiful and elegant symmetry of this crop circle.
On top of all that, the particular shape of the formation is also found in a symbol for Mother Mary, an ancient Goddess figure, as well as a venerated Christian icon.

In this symbol, we see references to the four solar turning-points of the year, as well as the lunar aspects (dark and light circles), rendering Her, Lady of All the World. An interesting point is that LAMAT as a word stands for ‘rabbit’ which is also a long-standing symbol for the Goddess.

It has been pointed out that several U.K. formations contain the eight or nine step spiral of rectangles, such as those at Boreham Down, Woolstone Hill, and Wayland's Smithy:

The U.K. formation of 2005, at Ripley, near Bournemouth, Dorset should probably also be included. It was reported 17 April 2005.
The spiraling numbers of the Ripley crop glyph is similar to the spiraling squares in the previous glyph.

At least one other person has pointed this out. The 6 pointed star, when looked at from an angle, looks like 3 blocks. I finally got around to illustrating the idea. Such block designs are often shown like a wall of blocks. It is sometimes used to illustrate how our perception can view an image in different ways. The view can appear as looking down at the tops of the boxes, or as looking up to the bottoms of the boxes:

Earth Star – A Mayan Connection!!
The beautiful earth star which fell onto fields at Echilhampton, near Devizes on August 15 is indeed a delicate formation and merits much appreciation. The crop picture which appeared on August 18, 2006 at Etchilhampton Hill seems to show (i)the four-fold pointed-symmetry of a gravitational wave field, as well as (ii) certain grid lines which are commonly used to represent gravity or curved space time:

The new Etchilhampton Hill crop picture thus has a concise, logical meaning:

"Space-time may vibrate in two different directions, either 'up-down' or 'left-right', in response to the field energy of a passing gravitational wave".
But why should the crop artists draw that particular picture at the end of 2006, after five other amazing "wormhole" pictures which illustrated possible technological uses of curved space-time? There could be two reasons.
First, gravitational wave detectors are being built now all around the world; some are even planned for space. Those new and highly-sensitive devices may be used to detect gravity waves from distant astronomical sources, which could potentially cause severe geological disturbances in the future, if any of them were to pass through our Solar System at light speedc.
For example, we learn from a website at Caltech: "Gravitational waves are ripples in the fabric of space-time. When they enter our LIGO detector, they will decrease the distance between test masses on one arm, while increasing it on the other arm. Such changes can be detected by bouncing laser beams back and forth between the test masses, then byinterfering laser beams from the two arms.""LIGO" stands for "Laser Interferometer Gravitational-wave Observatory" (www.ligo.caltech.edu/LIGO_web/about/factsheet.html).

Secondly, it would not seem impossible that gravitational waves are now in transit toward Earth. Many previous crop pictures suggest this. Furthermore, see (below) speculations by Paul LaViolette, a non-mainstream astronomer, about the Boxing Day 2004 earthquake and its causes; as well as observations by Lonnie Thompson, the American glaciologist, concerning the last major sudden-climate-change on Earth in 3100 BC (end of the Mayan "Fourth Sun").
Now when a powerful gravity wave with pointed four-fold symmetry passes through Earth, it may produce two different kinds of geological vibration as either "up-down" or "left-right", just as were shown schematically at Etchilhampton Hill:

If the whole planet Earth vibrates suddenly like that, there are going to be plenty of earthquakes, tsunamis and volcanoes Due to the relatively large size of most gravity waves, nearby stars could be affected as well. Recall from the Christian and Jewish scriptures various passages where "the Earth will reel like a drunkard" or "the seas will roar" and "powers (stars) in the heaven will be shaken". The Koran of Muslim faith describes a similar event. .
How might gravity waves be produced in far distant parts of our galaxy?Gravity waves may be produced through several different mechanisms, the most common of which might be 'collapsing neutron stars' or 'binary black holes'.
Paul LaViolette has argued that a gravity wave from a collapsing neutron star caused the Boxing Day 2004 earthquakewww.etheric.com/GalacticCenter/GRB.html). It was followed by an x-ray blast on the next day, consistent with Einstein-Rosen theory.
By contrast, long-term-periodic emission of gravity waves might be betterascribed to binary black holes, one of which could perhaps be present at the centre of our Milky Way:

For example, if the two components of some binary system at the centre of our Milky Way were to orbit once every 5125 Earth years, then they mightstrongly emit gravity waves only once during some brief part of that mutualorbit, when they come close together. If that is the case, then a twin pulse of gravity waves and x-rays could potentially be emitted from the centre of our galaxy once every 5125 years. It would then take another 40,000 years (roughly) to reach Earth and Sun at light speed c.
Could such a binary system of black holes, and long-term-periodic emission of gravity waves, provide a plausible mechanism for 5100-year periodicities in the ancient Mayan calendar?
The accuracy of the Mayan calendar was recently validated by Americanglaciologist Lonnie Thompson, who found many different lines of evidence for a sudden, worldwide climate change on Earth 5138 plus or minus 45 years ago (Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences USA 103, 10536-10543, 2006). He has attributed that event to "a sudden change in the brightness of our Sun". His dates from radio-isotope analysis agreewell with the Mayan calendar value of 5120 years ago for "end of the Fourth Sun". According to that same calendar, the next major event will occur six years from now in 2012.
Could that be what the current crop-circle phenomenon is all about? The crop artists have been warning us about wave-like emissions from the galactic centre since at least 1994: see for example a lucid crop picture from that year, which shows a Mayan symbol for the galactic centre on the left, with curly rays or waves emerging on all sides:

In modern terms, the Mayan symbol for "galactic centre" might represent the curved in-fall of stars near some black hole, for example Sgr A*.
Another pair of crop pictures at Etchilhampton in 1997 warned that our Sun would "flare" in 2012, perhaps due to gravity waves passing through it.
In 2005, the "mace" showed an explosion from some central source (galactic?) in six spatial directions +x, -x, +y, -y, +z, -z, where various star systems affected were seemingly drawn all around:

Isabelle Kingston noted, from supposed psychic contact, that crop pictures are being given now "at a cataclysmic time in Earth's history" (see Freddy Silva's book)
Both Wayland's Smithy pictures of August 2005 and July 2006 could plausibly be interpreted in terms of astronomical rays which will impact Earth and Sun in mid-August 2007. An alternative explanation for Wayland's Smithy of July 2005 in terms of "skyscrapers" can not explain why it shows numerous mathematical codes See also HERE
Finally, regarding to the supposed future predictive ability of our crop artists, the putative August 2007 event will be a good test to learn whether they might be truthful and reliable concerning December 2012 Or as John Locke once wrote (Essay Concerning Human Understanding, 1690), "In matters of substance, experiment can be our only guide."
If the crop artists do have wormhole / time-travel technology, as suggested by five other pictures this year, then their arcane source of knowledge seems self-evident! By contrast, the Chronology Protection Postulate of Stephen Hawking asserts that past-transfer of future-knowledge would not be permitted by "the laws of Nature". But nothing is more common than for great scientists to disagree.....

The arrival of comets has a deep sub-conscious pull for mankind as they have been seen and understood over the millennia as messengers alerting us to great change. And so it is with this one.
And now, to the channeling.
We have the explanation that Lord Metatron was going to provide to us in relation to the Crop Circle. The comet coming in relation to, around the time of, Jeshua's birth.
I am being directed to Galactic Centre.
And of course looking at our galaxy, not from the inside but from the exterior, I see a bulge, which looks like a line going through it.  They wanted to show me that first. And then they're taking me inside. I am standing there in the black hole which is right outside of Galactic Centre. And in 2012 there's all this energy being fed into Galactic Centre through the black hole. I'm tracing where it's coming from. There's a whole string. Energy is like being... it's coming from a constellation of stars. I don't know how far it is - in another dimension.
It is other life that is held in black matter. We've talked about this, the yin and the yang, the plus and the minus. So black matter is life just like us except it is the opposite electrical field.
And so this energy is coming from a very advanced constellation. Actually it's three constellations set up in the pattern that we are familiar with - the triangle. And it is the cycle. They're sending the energy through this black hole into Galactic Centre. 2012, December - the date that that energy comes through the black hole is not the same date that the child will be born. Even though it might seem that it should be instantaneous it is not. There is a lag period from the time that it comes through the black hole. No. It is not that. From the time that it is discharged from this triangular configuration and then moves through the black hole and then into Galactic Centre. And it is that energy that comes through in December that transforms Earth. Not only Earth but it imprints our entire solar system. And so all the planets are shari ng in this energy pattern. The other planets in our solar system, they imprint this energy also. Of course the energy comes through the sun.
I'm seeing the 28^th. The child to be born on the 28^th.
Energy comes through the sun and joins that moment. It will repeat what happened earlier when the solar wind stopped (1999) http://science.nasa.gov/newhome/headlines/ast13dec99_1.htm. The electrons that are the solar wind will stop. It will stop for three days, as that energy which came through the black hole imprints Earth. And of course it will imprint all of the other planets. The planets, each of them imprinting in some fashion their energy. Because each planet has a different energy, you know, and a different purpose. And during those three days this energy will completely alter the particles on Earth. They will be transformed. It will be like an explosion into eve ry particle on Earth, and human beings even, where the electrons will have more space in between them. The planet will be re-patterned.
And there will be many who will not be able to withstand the change in the energy pattern because they have done no preparation. And if their bodies have not been cleared and they are filled with, as you call it, stuck energy from the past, they will perish during those three days. It's not a punishment mind you. It's just that they will not - the physical - will not be able to be supported with the change in the energy. Just because this energy has come does not mean that every soul who is here on this planet will survive.
They all have the opportunity to ascend.
But those who have not worked on this process will not survive the pressure against the physical. The changing in the cells will be too much for them. Those who have prepared or have been attempting to prepare will have cells that are crystalline. Those who have not prepared at all, their cells will be carbon based and they will not be able to survive under this (he is showing me this great pressure that will be exerted upon it) great pressure. They will die from it.
And those who are of the dark, who have no intention of moving towards the light, will not be able to exist in these energies either.
And so the good news is everyone has the opportunity to ascend. And the good news is those who perish will reincarnate in another place where the energies will be similar.
This is the justice of the moment, in a sense. Those who have worked will receive their reward. Those who have not will receive also what they didn't give. Each will have their own result.
And so what the crop circle is telling you is that this great change has to do with Galactic Centre. The energy comes through because of all the alignments. It is simply the alignments that allow the energy to come in on a straight line to come to Earth. It is like a lock, where you need a key to unlock the lock. And that is what 2012 is. This giant clockwork in the cosmos has lined up in a certain fashion for the energy to come through. And as this process unfolds, and as in so many things in life, humanity has always been warned.
Warnings are not always dire things. Warnings can sometimes be an announcement of the most profound, of the most powerful and yet of the most sublime. And this is what this child is. Powerful and sublime.
Isn't that not what love is actually? The most powerful? The most sublime?
The little child, the little child, one day, they say was born in Bethlehem so long ago. This little child will not be born in Bethlehem. But this little child will come in 2012 and the comet will proclaim his coming. So you might say, in essence, this is his comet. And those who watch the sky will remember that it was once called the Star of Bethlehem but since this child will not be born in Bethlehem then there is this comet announcing his birth.

The second part of Avebury Manor shows a more detailed view of our solar system near Earth in December of 2012
Apart from farmer's damage, the old part of Avebury Manor shows one major change: a "comet" entering our solar system on the left. Then on the right, its new part shows a highly expanded view of lunar orbit (a crescent Moon circling the Earth), close to a dotted oval symbol for "12 lunar months". During month 12 (or December 2012), our Moon will apparently come close in the sky to a "bright comet", drawn inside curved tramlines nearby.
Below the new lunar crescent at Avebury Manor, we can see a "double ring" symbol for Earth's Sun, connected by a long curved line to six other small symbols yet to be identified. Four bright "stars" appear nearby, close to the old orbit of Pluto.

Looking next at many small symbols near top centre, we can see the crescent symbol for Moon, lying in its twelfth month (solar or lunar) next to the same bright comet just mentioned:

Looking finally at many small symbols near bottom centre, we can see a double-ring symbol for Sun, connected by a long curved line to another circle with two small stars enclosed:

By studying our Sun's path through the sky (red dashed line) during December, I was able to work out that those two small stars lie in the constellation Ophiuchus at Right Ascension 17 hours, 22 minutes, or close to our Sun on December 13 as 17 hours, 26 minutes. Four other stars (or M8) provide a confirming match between the star pattern and the crop picture. The crop symbol for M8 is shown correctly as a circle plus an extended line, because it is an extended star cluster.
One week later on December 21-23, our Sun lies at a slightly larger R.A. value of 18 hours, 2-11 minutes in the constellation Sagittarius. Four nearby symbols (not shown) as "spiral, snail, serpent, crossed box" remain unidentified, but could represent the four constellations bordering Ophiuchus in Earth's sky. For example, the "serpent" could be Serpens, while the "snail" was a constellation in ancient times.
Twelve years ago on July 13, 1996, we saw a similar astronomical prediction for December 2012 at West Overton: Charles Reed and Janet Ossebaard
This new crop picture seems to confirm the original crop picture shown in 1996, of a bright comet next to a crescent Moon in December 2012. Its importance is that no such prediction can (or has) currently been made by conventional astronomical science.

A very similar crop picture appeared at West Overton on July 13, 1996. There next to a galactic centre symbol for "Hunab Ku", we saw a crescent Moon next to a bright comet in late 2012. NOTE ABOUT HUNAB KU:

The Hunab ku was invented by Catholic missionaries according to this article.

There we saw (apparently) the same new Moon of December 13, 2012, lying in Earth's sky next to the same bright comet. Both objects will lie close to our Sun during its eclipse of the galactic centre on December 21-23 (which is indicated by a Mayan spiral symbol called "Hunab Ku").

In summary, both of these crop pictures lead us to think that something important may happen one week before the Mayan Long Count calendar ends on December 21-23, 2012. At the very least, we should see a bright comet next to a new Moon. We might even see curved lines or "rays" emerging from the galactic center, as shown at West Overton in the diagram above.

Avebury manor I and II the relation

I want to share the following notes which I have on the second crop circle from Avebury Manor.

I want to call the second Avebury circle " The Returning of the Tenth Planet Niburu " In my opinion this is the first crop circle what actually depicts the origin of the makers of these symbols. One can easily see that the circles are related. We can see the planets again in the same position as in circle I

Lets start with the planets and the sun. What is obvious is that the sun, the central point, is approximately 25% bigger. The sun has even in his power the planets Mercurius and Venus. We also can see that on the outside four circles are shown, which are getting bigger in format.

What I see in this picture is that a Big Comet is approaching. The sun reacts on this Comet and is expanding and so becoming a lot more bigger, but also hotter and hotter. The planets Mercury and Venus are being burned up. What will happen with the Earth. That is explained in the picture beside the planets orbits.

Lets start with the big circle and a small circle with a central circle sticking on this. I understand that this is the missing planet nr. 10 or Niburu. Niburu has its own orbit outside our solar system, which is shown. I see that Niburu also has a moon. To the right we see an ellips with 11 tiny circles around it. I think they mean that they own a huge space ship which is heading to a kind of teardrop shaped picture. I think they mean the sorrow and grief on planet Earth, because of the suns explosion. So in popular, I understand that they send this space craft to mother Earth. But if someone else understands this different, then please react.

As follows I will explain the symbols at the left of Niburu's orbit.

The diamond shaped symbol can be a space ship, but also can mean a laboratory. Above that symbol we see the symbol of a sperm. Then follows a turtle and a swirl. After the swirl I cannot clearly see or understand the next symbol, but the following bigger symbol is very interesting and between that symbol and the orbit of Pluto I cannot anymore see clearly the smaller symbols.

What I understand is that they explain that they brought life (Diamond and sperm symbol), it was a slow process ( the turtle), but finally evolution ( the swirl) took place. The bigger symbol is at the left planet Earth. They put Earth in the proper orbit and they will do this again when our sun is changing. I understand that they will take Earth to a safer place.

KABUL, Afghanistan – The Taliban on Thursday condemned violence that killed 12 people the day before during an Afghan protest against NATO that turned into a riot with the demonstrators attempting to overrun a small German military base nearby.
The Taliban statement focused on a protest in the northern city of Taloqan that followed a nighttime NATO raid in the area that left four people dead. NATO later said the dead were insurgents, while Afghan officials said they were civilians.
An estimated 1,500 demonstrators protested the raid early Wednesday morning while marching with the bodies of the dead, but the crowd soon became violent. Protesters looted shops and threw stones at a small German base there. The German military said some in the crowd began throwing hand grenades and Molotov cocktails, injuring two German soldiers and four Afghan guards.
Rioters and police later exchanged gunfire, leaving at least 12 protesters dead and 50 people wounded — including some police officers, a government spokesman said.
The Taliban described the violence as a "crime against humanity" in a statement released on Thursday. The Taliban also blamed German soldiers for shooting the protesters.
Night NATO raids often stir discontent in Afghanistan, as some argue they are an affront to a culture that highly values the sanctity of the home. Residents often claim that international forces go after the wrong people or mistreat civilians as they search compounds. The accusations have persisted despite NATO's success in reducing civilian casualties and its agreement to conduct night raids alongside Afghan forces.
Protesters also criticized Afghan President Hamid Karzai. The president later issued a statement criticizing the NATO raid, saying the four killed in the raid were members of a family wrongly targeted. Karzai also said the raid had not been coordinated with local forces, something NATO later denied.
Wednesday's riot suggests more trouble ahead for NATO as upcoming troop drawdowns are likely to make the alliance increasingly reliant on quick-strike raids on insurgent hideouts. The first U.S. forces are to begin withdrawing from Afghanistan in July.

22 dead in plane crash in Argentine Patagonia

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina – A Sol Air Lines plane carrying 22 people crashed and exploded Wednesday in Argentina's southern Patagonia region, killing all on board.
Sol Air Lines said its Flight 5248 carrying three crew members and 19 passengers, including a baby, communicated an emergency while flying from Neuquen near the Andes to Comodoro Rivadavia along the coast of Patagonia. The company confirmed that the wreckage was found about 25 kilometers (15 miles) southwest of the town of Los Menucos, and that local firefighers and police found no one alive.
"Unfortunately there are no survivors. We see burnt remains, everything burned," Ismael Ali, who directs the hospital in the nearest town of Los Menucos, told the Todo Noticias channel.
Sol spokesman Horacio Darre in Buenos Aires said the plane took off normally and that it's impossible to know the cause, which will be determined by accident investigators.
"It's important to clarify that right now there is no information about the cause of the crash, which will be clarified by the relevant authorities," an airline statement stressed.
Sol said it received an emergency communication from the plane at 8:50 p.m. local time, nearly halfway into the flight from Neuquen near the Andes to Comodoro Rivadavia along the coast of Rio Negro province.
The plane crashed and exploded on the rural property of a man who drove into the town of about 4,000 people to alert authorities. Los Menucos Mayor Mabel Yahuar said they would make the town's gymnasium available to support investigators and family members.

Japan Makes Some Progress In Nuclear Crisis

TOKYO (Reuters) - Japan made some progress on Sunday in its race to avert disaster at a nuclear power plant leaking radiation after an earthquake and tsunami that are estimated to have killed more than 15,000 people in one prefecture alone.

Three hundred engineers have been battling inside the danger zone to salvage the six-reactor Fukushima plant in the world's worst nuclear crisis since Chernobyl 25 years ago.

Police said they believed more than 15,000 people had been killed by the double disaster in Miyagi prefecture, one of four that took the brunt of the tsunami damage. In total, almost 12,000 people are missing in the northeast, where the confirmed death toll stood at more than 7,600.

The unprecedented crisis will cost the world's third largest economy as much as $200 billion and require Japan's biggest reconstruction push since post-World War Two.

It has also set back nuclear power plans the world over.

Encouragingly for Japanese transfixed on work at the Fukushima complex, the most critical reactor -- No. 3, which contains highly toxic plutonium -- stabilized after fire trucks doused it for hours with hundreds of metric tons of water.

Work also advanced on bringing power back to water pumps used to cool overheating nuclear fuel, and Kyodo news agency reported that temperatures at spent fuel pools in reactors No. 5 and 6 were returning to normal.

"We are making progress ... (but) we shouldn't be too optimistic," said Hidehiko Nishiyama, deputy-general at Japan's Nuclear Safety Agency.

Technicians attached a power cable to the No. 1 and No. 2 reactors, hoping to restore electricity later in the day prior to an attempt to switch the pumps on.

They aim to reach No. 3 and 4 soon after that.

If successful, that could be a turning point in a crisis rated as bad as America's 1979 Three Mile Island accident.

If not, drastic measures may be required such as burying the plant in sand and concrete, as happened at Chernobyl in 1986, though experts warn that could take many months and the fuel had to be cooled first.

On the negative side, evidence has begun emerging of radiation leaks from the plant, including into food and water.

Though public fear of radiation runs deep, and anxiety has spread as far as the Pacific-facing side of the United States, Japanese officials say levels so far are not alarming.

Traces exceeding national safety standards were, though, found in milk from a farm about 30 km (18 miles) from the plant and spinach grown in neighboring Ibaraki prefecture.

The Japanese government ordered additional tests and depending on the results may ban sales and shipments of food products from areas in the vicinity of the plant.

The first discovery of contaminated food since the March 11 disaster is likely to heighten scrutiny of Japanese food exports, especially in Asia, their biggest market.

Tiny levels of radioactive iodine have also been found in tap water in Tokyo, one of the world's largest cities about 240 km (150 miles) to south. Many tourists and expatriates have already left and residents are generally staying indoors.

Harmless levels of iodine and cesium were also found in northern Ibaraki, northeast of Tokyo, Kyodo news agency said.

Facing criticism of its early handling of the situation, plant operator TEPCO's president issued a public apology for "causing such great concern and nuisance."

Even after restoring power, the company faces a tricky task reactivating the cooling pumps, with parts of the system probably damaged from the quake or subsequent explosions.

"The workers need to go through the plant, figure out what survived and what didn't, what can be readily repaired and get the cooling systems back up and running to deal with the cores and the spent fuel pools," said David Lochbaum, of U.S. nuclear watchdog the Union of Concerned Scientists.

FOREIGN ENCOURAGEMENT

Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin recognised Japan's progress during a trip to reassure residents of eastern regions there was no immediate danger from the nuclear accident.

"Our Japanese colleagues are gradually, not right away and with mistakes ... getting the situation under control," he said in the city of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. "The work is being done properly, in the right way -- 24 hours a day."

Putin proposed freeing up energy for Japan by increasing Russian gas supplies to Europe so more liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargoes could go to the Asian nation.

U.N. watchdog the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) also offered encouragement to Tokyo. Its chief, Yukiya Amano, who is Japanese, hailed the "strengthening" of work at the site.

Prime Minister Naoto Kan, who has kept a low profile during the crisis except for shouting at plant operator Tokyo Electric Power Co (TEPCO), sounded out the opposition about forming a government of national unity to deal with the crisis.

But the largest opposition party rejected that.

MOVING EARTH

Showing the incredible power of the 9.0 magnitude earthquake, the largest to hit tremor-prone Japan since accurate records began in the early 1900s, Oshika peninsula in Miyagi prefecture shifted a whole 5.3 metres (17 ft) east and its land sank 1.2 metres (4 ft).

The quake and ensuing 10-meter high tsunami devastated Japan's north east coastal region, wiping towns off the map and making more than 360,000 people homeless in a test for the Asian nation's reputation for resilience and social cohesion.

Food, water, medicine and fuel are short in some parts, and low temperatures during Japan's winter are not helping.

The traumatic hunt for bodies and missing people continues.

"This morning my next door neighbor came crying to me that she still can't find her husband. All I could tell her was, 'We'll do our best, so just hold on a little longer,'" said fire brigade officer Takao Sato in the disaster zone.

About 257,000 households in the north still have no electricity and at least one million lack running water.

Japan's crisis spooked markets, prompted a rare intervention by the G7 group of rich nations to stabilize the yen on Friday, and fueled concerns that world economy may suffer because of disrupted supplies to auto and technology industries.

Automaker General Motors Co said it was suspending all nonessential spending and global travel, plus freezing production at a plant in Spain and cancelling two shifts in Germany while it assessed the impact of the Japan crisis.

The town is just one of many nearly erased from Japan's northeastern coast, where water, electricity, and telecommunications are largely unavailable.

As of Monday an estimated 350,000 people are reportedly homeless in the wake of Friday's magnitude 9 earthquake—Japan's biggest on record. According to the police chief of hard-hit Miyagi Prefecture, at least 10,000 are dead, the Washington Post reported.

Meanwhile, Tuesday morning (local time) brought fresh cause for concern from the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant, where emergency efforts to use seawater to cool one of three malfunctioning nuclear reactors failed temporarily, the New York Times reported. As water levels dipped, fuel rods were likely exposed to air, increasing the chances of melting—and of a catastrophic meltdown.

Add to this the threat of further earthquakes—the U.S. Geological Survey registered nearly a hundred aftershocks on Sunday alone—and, for now, there seems to be little light at the end of what Prime Minister Naoto Kan has called Japan's "worst crisis since World War II."

Wikileaks: SBY Spying Wiranto

(World News) — One mentioned in The Age newspaper reports, Australia, is Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono asked the National Intelligence Agency spy on Wiranto. According to the report, based on the leaked Wikileaks obtained the diplomatic wires that, when it SBY still Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs.
“He ordered intelligence agencies to give a report on the former armed forces commander and presidential candidate of the Golkar Party, Wiranto,” Philip Dorling wrote from The Age that. This news also appeared in the Sydney Morning Herald and Asiasentinel.com.

Julian has also highlighted that the names mentioned in the news are not given the space to explain. Moreover, said Julian, two of the paper refers solely on WikiLeaks. “It should be sad, because we know very krediblitasnya can not be held.”
Even if true the data obtained from the wire confidential diplomatic, Julian went on, it is far from the truth and inaccuracies. “All who read the news definitely surprised, because this is really controversial. But over time, will prove to be mentioned is nothing more than junk news,” said Julian.
In line with Julian, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Djoko Suyanto also strongly denied the news that two Australian newspapers.

Travel bans, a push for harsh sanctions, criminal investigations, and more anti-government protests – another week of chaos is underway in the Arab world. Here is a look at the latest.

YEMEN
On Monday, tens of thousands of protesters gathered across Yemen, from the capital Sanaa to disparate regions where separatists or Shi'ite rebels hold sway, chanting slogans such as, “No dialogue, no dialogue. You leaving is the only option.”
Yemen's opposition will not join a unity government expected to be offered by President Ali Abdullah Saleh, saying on Monday it was standing with popular demands for an end to his three-decade rule.
“The opposition decided to stand with the people's demand for the fall of the regime, and there is no going back from that,” said Mohammed al-Sabry, a spokesman for Yemen's umbrella opposition coalition.
LIBYA
Muammar Gadhafi has appointed the head of Libya's foreign intelligence service to speak to the leadership of the eastern region, which is no longer under the Libyan leader's control, al Jazeera TV reported.
Monday's broadcast report, which quoted one of al Jazeera's correspondents, named the head of the foreign intelligence service as Bouzaid Dordah.
A spokesman for the newly formed National Libyan Council, based in the eastern city of Benghazi and which has described itself as the face of the revolution, said on Sunday he saw no room for negotiation with Gadhafi.
About 400 people protested against Gadhafi in the Tajoura district in the east of the capital Tripoli on Monday, a Reuters reporter at the scene said.
Soon after, several sports utility vehicles pulled into the square where the protest was taking place and the occupants, wearing green bandanas, jumped out and fired into the air in an attempt to disperse the protest.
Protesters dispersed once a brigade of pro-Gadhafi fighters rushed to the scene, scattering before the gunmen could fire a shot, a witness said.
There were attempts to restore aspects of normalcy in the capital, residents said. Many stores downtown reopened, and traffic in the streets increased.
Sons of Gadhafi have failed to persuade prominent Saudi clerics to issue religious rulings against a revolt that is threatening to bring down the veteran leader, Al Arabiya television said on Monday.
The Saudi-owned channel said on its website that Gadhafi's son Saif al-Islam had contacted one cleric, Salman al-Awda, and Saadi Gadhafi had reached out to a second, Ayedh al-Garni, but both rejected their calls.
“You are killing the Libyan people. Turn to God because you are wronging them. Protect Libyan blood, you are killing old people and children. Fear God,” Garni said he told Saadi.
LIBYA - REACTION
• U.S. repositions forces – The U.S. military is repositioning naval and air forces around Libya, a Pentagon official said Monday, as international demands intensify for an end to Gadhafi's decades-long rule.
It is moving some armed forces in the region near Libya in case they're needed, but is not saying what they might be needed for.
• France sends rebels aid – France announced it is sending two planes with humanitarian aid to Libya's opposition stronghold of Benghazi on Monday, in what its prime minister described as the start of a “massive operation” to push Moammar Gadhafi from power.
French Prime Minister Francois Fillon said the planes would leave “in a few hours” for the eastern city of Benghazi with doctors, nurses, medicines and medical equipment.
“It will be the beginning of a massive operation of humanitarian support for the populations of liberated territories,” he said.
• Exile for Gadhafi? – Going into exile would be one option for Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi in meeting international demands that he leave power, White House spokesman Jay Carney said Monday.
Carney, asked by reporters whether the United States would help facilitate exile for Gaddafi, said this was a bit of speculation that he would not discuss.
• Atrocity accountability? – Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton is imploring the world to hold Gadhafi's regime to account for gross atrocities that include reports of executing soldiers for refusing to turn their guns on their fellow citizens.
Clinton made the plea for the international community to speak with a single voice at Monday's session of the UN Human Rights Council. She said that Gadhafi must leave power “now, without further violence or delay.”
• Attacks – Kenyans and Nigerians fleeing unrest in Libya said on Monday they faced attacks and hostility from Libyan citizens and officials who branded them as mercenaries supporting Gadhafi's rule.
A Kenya Airways flight landed in Nairobi with 90 Kenyans on board, and 64 other people from South Sudan, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Zambia, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Sierra Leone and Burundi, officials said.
• Blair rebuffed – Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair told Monday's edition of The Times newspaper that he made two telephone calls to the embattled dictator last week, but that the message that he should resign was rebuffed. He described the Libyan leader as being in denial about his situation
• Cut off from oil–The European Union says that Libya's Gadhafi no longer controls most of oil and gas fields.
Libya's oil chief said Monday that production had been cut by around 50 per cent, and argued it was “safe” for foreign oil workers to return after a mass exodus sparked by Gadhafi's increasingly violent campaign to retain control of the country.
• No-fly zone? – The United States pressed its European allies on Monday to set tough sanctions on the Libyan government, while doubts emerged about the feasibility of a proposed no-fly zone to prevent Gadhafi's regime from launching aerial attacks against protesters.
Prime Minister David Cameron said on Monday that Britain would work with allies on plans to enforce a no-fly zone in Libya to protect its people from military attacks by Gadhafi's government.
“We do not in any way rule out the use of military assets,” Cameron said.
• Travel sanctions – The European Union has agreed to sanctions against Libyan strongman Gadhafi, including an arms embargo, asset freeze and visa ban.
• Criminal investigation – The International Criminal Court said Monday it has been in contact with Libyan army officers to gather information about civilian deaths during the uprising against Gadhafi's regime, and pledged “no impunity” for anyone found to have committed crimes against humanity.
An ICC prosecutor said on Monday he hoped to complete a preliminary examination of the violence in Libya in a few days before opening a full investigation.
• EU evacuations – The European Union says that most of the 10,000 EU citizens in Libya have left, but there are still 650 asking to be evacuated.
EU Crisis Response Commissioner Kristalina Georgieva said Monday the remaining EU nationals are often in tough areas to reach, making their rescue difficult.
• Risky evacuation – The Philippine's new foreign secretary personally led a risky convoy to Libya's capital from neighbouring Tunisia, successfully evacuating 400 Filipino workers trapped by the violence there, a spokesman said Monday.
Albert del Rosario, who was appointed acting foreign secretary only last week, flew into Tunisia and on Sunday led a 55-vehicle convoy to Tripoli with two other diplomats to bring back the workers, the foreign affairs department said.
• Al Qaeda support – Osama bin Laden's deputy sought to co-opt the uprisings in Egypt and Tunisia in a new message, urging the countries' peoples to create Islamic states and warning that the United States is trying to manipulate the events to ensure American and Israeli interests are preserved.
QATAR
Gadhafi should take a “brave decision” to avoid more bloodshed and destruction in Libya, Qatar's prime minister said on Monday, in a rare Arab call on the Libyan leader to resign.
“It is not too late for a decision. It is impossible for anyone to win in this revolution but the Libyan people,” said Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim al-Thani, urging a solution that would reduce bloodshed and suffering and avert the destruction of Libya.
TUNISIA
Opposition leaders say youth have joined large police patrols to help keep the peace in Tunisia's tense capital after a weekend of deadly protests led to the resignation of the longtime prime minister.
Tunis saw no new major demonstrations Monday after weekend clashes between riot police and stone-throwing youths left at least five people dead.
Tunisian Industry and Technology Minister Mohamed Afif Chelbi has resigned from the government, the official TAP news agency reported on Monday.
Chelbi was one of only two remaining ministers who served in the cabinet under ousted President Zine al-Abidine Ben Ali. Prime Minister Mohamed Ghannouchi, who held the same post under Ben Ali, stepped down on Sunday.
IRAN
Iran's state prosecutor says all outside contact with the country's two opposition leaders has been cut as part of a campaign to silence dissent.
Gholam Hossein Mohseni Ejehi warned “other measures” could be taken if necessary against Mir Hossein Mousavi and Mahdi Karroubi. His remarks were reported Monday by the official IRNA news agency.
CHINA
U.S. and European diplomats have criticized the harassment of foreign reporters in China who were trying to cover calls for peaceful protests like those that swept the Middle East.

It wasn't clear how many people, if any, tried to protest on Sunday, but Chinese authorities met the demonstration calls with an outsized response, detaining several Chinese and placing strict controls on foreign reporters.
IRAQ
Iraq's prime minister is calling for new provincial elections following anti-government protests that killed 14 people last week.
Nouri al-Maliki says the call for the early vote is in response to the people's demands for change.
BAHRAIN
Anti-government protesters blockaded Bahrain's parliament and massed outside the state broadcaster on Monday in efforts to escalate pressure on the nation's embattled monarchy after two weeks of nonstop marches and deadly clashes.
The demonstrations appear part of a strategy to hold rallies at sensitive locations in the capital Manama while maintaining a round-the-clock protest base in a landmark square in the tiny Gulf kingdom.
The parliament became a target to coincide with a meeting called by the 40-member upper chamber, which is appointed by Bahrain's ruler. The session was delayed by several hours when protesters formed a human chain around the entrance.
From parliament, the marchers then moved to the state TV headquarters, chanting slogans that claim the reports on the unrest seek to widen rifts between the Shiite-led protesters and the Sunni dynasty that has ruled Bahrain for more than two centuries.
EGYPT
Egypt's public prosecutor has issued an order that imposes a travel ban on former President Hosni Mubarak and his family while complaints against them are being investigated, a prosecutor's spokesman said on Monday.
He did not detail the complaints, but the prosecutor's spokesman Adel el-Saeed said an official order had been issued, adding that the order also put a freeze on their money and assets.
The official news agency issued a similar report.
OMAN
Men and women casually looted a smouldering supermarket in Oman's main industrial centre on Monday, after police disappeared in the wake of violent protests in the normally placid Arab state.
“It's a free for all,” said one man who watched while people grabbed all they could find – from food to metal sheets and electronic goods – and piled their hauls into trolleys at the Lulu Hypermarket at a road junction in the port of Sohar.
A doctor said six people had died in clashes between stone-throwing protesters and police on Sunday in the northern industrial town of Sohar, although Oman's health minister said only one person died and 20 were injured.

Hundreds of families flee Libya for Tunisia

Libyan ruler Col Muammar Gaddafi is battling to retain control of Tripoli and areas in western Libya as protesters consolidated gains in the east and foreigners continued to flee.

Much of the capital is deserted as pro-Gaddafi gunmen roam the streets, with reports of uprisings in western towns such as Misurata, Sabratha and Zawiya.
Masses of protesters have been celebrating success in eastern towns.
Thousands of foreigners continue to leave, with chaos at Tripoli airport.
At least 300 people have died in the country's uprising.
Col Gaddafi's son, Saif al-Islam Gaddafi, went on television on Wednesday evening to say that everything was "normal", Reuters reported.
"The ports, schools and airports are all open," he said. "The problem lies in the eastern regions. Life is normal. Brothers, Libyans should come together in this national battle."
US President Barack Obama called the suffering of the people in Libya "outrageous" and said the government there must be held accountable for its failures to meet its responsibilities.
'Many deaths' An eyewitness in Tripoli said that the city was virtually closed, with many people hoping protesters and defecting soldiers would arrive from the east to help them.

There are mounting accounts of what appears to be killings by paramilitary troops and bodies being immediately dumped in their trucks or cars, as well as all the evidence of shooting being cleared, bullet shells being picked up and blood washed down with water in the street.
There was one such case reported in front of the state television headquarters. Four people were killed there and one of them was shot at point blank range.
All banks and shops remain closed. There was a text message that was sent out on Wednesday morning to users of state mobile phone networks telling everyone, civil servants and private workers, to go back to work.
But all foreign companies have halted operations and the people here don't understand how they can be expected to go to work because of the dangers of travel.

Tripoli 'quiet and confused'

A text message had been sent out by government officials telling civil servants and other workers to return to their jobs but many people are too scared to go on to the streets.

One Tripoli resident said: "I hope residents don't go to work - this can be our way of a peaceful protest - we will all stay at home indefinitely."
There were reports of gunmen opening fire on Tuesday morning on a queue of people at a bread shop in the Fashloum district, where there has been a heavy military crackdown, with three people killed.
Two naval gunships are reported to have been deployed facing the city.
A Tripoli citizen told BBC Arabic that the only people on the streets were police, soldiers and African mercenaries but that the opposition was in touch with cities in the east that had fallen to protesters and a march was planned for the capital on Thursday.
Another Tripoli resident said: "Anti-government protesters have disappeared. The streets are quiet. There are many, many deaths."
The resident also said doctors were reporting gunmen shooting people in hospitals.
Information from Libya is currently difficult to verify and reports cannot often be independently confirmed.
The BBC's Paul Danahar on the Tunisian border says unconfirmed reports suggest several towns between the border and Tripoli have seen anti-government protests but the roads in between are held by people loyal to Col Gaddafi.

Troops are said to have been sent to Sabratha after demonstrators burned government buildings, according to the Quryna news website.
The pre-Gaddafi Libyan flag was also reportedly raised in Zawiya, 50km (30 miles) west of Tripoli while other unconfirmed reports said protesters had seized control of Misurata, 200km east of Tripoli, after days of fighting.
One Tunisian man who crossed from Libya told our correspondent there was no law in the country and added: "God help them".

Col Gaddafi has vowed to crush the revolt and die as a martyr. His televised speech on Tuesday referred to the protesters as rats and cockroaches and has been greeted with a mixture of anger and mockery.

In the east, thousands of people celebrated on the streets of Benghazi, waving the pre-Gaddafi flags and handing out food and drink.
Protesters are said to be in control of cities from the Egyptian border to Ajdabiya, 800km east of Tripoli.

All of the area I have been through is firmly in opposition control. There are militias running checkpoints, a nearby government building has been torched and is still belching smoke. But for the opposition it's been very hard fought. After they began to take over the streets, Col Gaddafi's government used a major air base to bring in reinforcements, elite forces and mercenaries from other parts of Africa. But young people from the nearby village, armed initially with just sticks and stones, took them on.
Gradually they were equipped with small arms from looted army bases, and they began to push the elite of the military back. The Libyan air force responded, using fighter jets and helicopter gunships.
After a battle lasting several days, the last of the government forces abandoned the base. They've all fled or been captured. The airfield is now in opposition hands. You can see an old tank and vehicles that are being used to block the runway. Across this area local people are now out every night, celebrating their success in taking on Col Gaddafi's power and winning.

Quryna reported that a Libyan fighter plane had crashed near Ajdabiya after the two pilots refused to bomb Benghazi and ejected.

At the Egyptian border, sprayed graffiti read: "Welcome to the new Libya".
Many defence committees of residents and defecting military have been set up, including one to guard the anti-aircraft missile bases outside Tobruk.
"Down with the Tyrant" was scrawled on a building in the town of al-Marja.
Airport chaos Meanwhile, foreigners are struggling to evacuate the violence-torn country.
One American who reached Vienna on a flight from Libya, Kathleen Burnett, told Associated Press the scene at Tripoli airport was "total chaos", adding: "The airport was mobbed, you wouldn't believe the number of people."
And a Briton airlifted out by the Portuguese told the BBC he knew of dozens who were trying to get to Tripoli airport but were too afraid because of "the soldiers who are out on the streets looting and plundering".
One Air Malta pilot who was evacuating Maltese from Tripoli airport said he had to go into the terminal to round up passengers.
He said he saw people fighting to get on to a plane.
Briton Chris Murphy and his wife said they had also "fought their way" through crowds to get on their flight but the plane had about 100 empty seats.
Many countries have been trying to evacuate their citizens.
France and Russia are among the nations that have sent planes and frigates to pick up thousands of their stranded nationals.

The UN Security Council demanded an end to the violence on Tuesday, while the Arab League suspended Libya.
On Wednesday, the African Union condemned "the disproportionate use of force against civilians" in Libya.
The US and EU both said they were discussing possible measures against Libya, including sanctions.
President Obama said the world was watching Libya and he would coordinate his response with the international community.
He said: "Change is taking place across the region, being driven by the people of the region - it is not the work of the United States or any other power but the aspirations of people seeking a better life."

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID,TRIPOLI-Selama 75 menit, Selasa sore waktu setempat, pemimpin Libya Muammar Gaddafi muncul di televisi menyampaikan pidato emosional menentang aksi protes yang dilakukan rakyatnya. Dalam pidatonya, ia bertekad melakukan perlawanan dan akan meninggal sebagai martir.

Mengenakan jubah coklat dan turban, ia berbicara dari podium yang dipasang di pintu masuk sebuah gedung rusak di Tripoli, yang merupakan kediamannya yang dibom oleh pesawat tempur AS pada tahun 1980-an. New Zealand Earthquake 2011: Magnitude 6.3 Quake Shakes Christchurch, South Island

A strong earthquake shook New Zealand on Tuesday afternoon, according to reports.

The 6.3-magnitude quake, per the USGS, shook New Zealand's South Island and its largest city of Christchurch at 12:50 p.m. local time.

The New Zealand Herald reported that the quake's epicenter was Lyttelton with a depth of 5 kilometers, though it was felt as far away as Wellington and Dunedin per Twitter reports. It shook the Canterbury region, which has a population of approximately 500,000. Radio New Zealand reports "that some people have been killed."

Radio New Zealand also noted some of the damage from the quake in Christchurch: a church collapsed, a bridge is impassible, the airport has been shut down and the mayor is urging people not to drive due to road damage.

Riot breaks out in Libyan city of Benghazi

(Reuters) - Hundreds of people clashed with police and government supporters overnight in the eastern Libyan city of Benghazi, a witness and local media said, in a rare show of unrest in the oil exporting country.
Libya has been tightly controlled by leader Muammar Gaddafi for over 40 years but has also felt the ripples from popular revolts in its neighbors Egypt and Tunisia.

Libyan state television said that rallies were held in the early hours of Wednesday morning across the country in support of Gaddafi, who is Africa's longest serving leader.
Reports from Benghazi, about 1,000 km (600 miles) east of the Libyan capital, indicated the city was now calm but that overnight, protesters armed with stones and petrol bombs had set fire to vehicles and fought with police.
The protesters were angry about the arrest of a human rights campaigner and demanded his release.
Gaddafi opponents used the Facebook social networking site to call on people to go out onto the streets across Libya on Thursday for what they described as a "day of rage."
Quryna newspaper, which is based in Benghazi, quoted Abdelkrim Gubaili, the director of a local hospital, as saying 38 people were injured in the clashes, most of them members of the security forces. He said they had all been discharged.
"Last night was a bad night," a Benghazi resident, who did not want to be identified, told Reuters by telephone.
"There were about 500 or 600 people involved. They went to the revolutionary committee (local government headquarters) in Sabri district, and they tried to go to the central revolutionary committee ... They threw stones," he said.
"Now Benghazi is quiet. The banks are open and the students are going to school," the same witness said later.
Some Libyans complain about high unemployment, income inequality and limits on political freedoms, but analysts say an Egypt-style revolt is unlikely there because the government can use its vast energy revenues to placate unhappy citizens.
A video clip posted on the YouTube site by someone who said it was recorded in Benghazi on Tuesday night showed a crowd of people outside what looked like a government building chanting: "No God but God!" and "Corruption is the enemy of God."

HISTORY OF DISTRUST
People in Benghazi have a history of distrust of Gaddafi's rule. Many of his most ardent opponents living in exile, and many of the people jailed for membership of banned Islamist militant groups, are from the city.
According to the reports from Benghazi, the unrest was triggered by the arrest of Fethi Tarbel, a human rights activist who worked with families of people detained in Tripoli's notorious Abu Salim jail.
The prison, used to hold government opponents and Islamist militants, was the scene of violent clashes in June 1996 in which 1,000 inmates were shot dead.

LAHORE, Pakistan – Brothers of two Pakistanis shot dead by an American rejected the idea of a financial settlement in a case straining diplomatic ties between the two counterterrorism allies, with one brother insisting Thursday that he wanted "blood for blood" — not a payoff.
A court gave Pakistan's government three more weeks to decide if Raymond Davis, an ex-Special Forces soldier, has diplomatic immunity as America claims. Pakistan's unwillingness to offer a position Thursday indicated efforts by Sen. John Kerry to ease tensions during a visit this week had stumbled.
The U.S. says Davis shot the two armed men in self defense when they tried to rob him on Jan. 27 in the eastern city of Lahore and that he has full diplomatic immunity as an embassy staffer. Pakistani officials, fearful of a backlash in a public rife with anti-American sentiment, have referred the matter to the courts.
The idea of so-called "blood money" to settle murder cases instead of a trial is accepted in Islam and under Pakistani law, and Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani raised it as a possibility in the Davis case Wednesday.
But when reached by The Associated Press, the brothers of the dead men said they wanted Davis to be tried by the courts and dismissed any suggestion that they would take money in exchange for the 36-year-old Virginia native's freedom.
"We only want justice. We want blood for blood and nothing else," said Mohammed Wasim, brother to victim Mohammed Fahim. Fahim's wife committed suicide shortly after her husband's death, saying before succumbing to rat poison that she feared Davis would be freed.
Speaking forcefully in a face-to-face meeting with an AP reporter, Wasim said his family had been called by the U.S. Consulate in Lahore about arranging a meeting with Kerry, but they refused. U.S. Embassy spokesman Courtney Beale denied the Americans had tried to arrange such a gathering.
Imran Haider, brother of victim Faizan Haider, said his family had not been contacted by the U.S. but also rejected the idea of compensation.
"Our brother was killed by Raymond Davis, and we need justice," he said in a phone interview.
A third Pakistani, a bystander named Ibadur Rehman, died when he was struck by an American car rushing to help Davis. Pakistani police say they want to question the people in the car. The U.S. has said very little about that death, and it's highly unlikely any Americans in the car remain in Pakistan.
A brother of that victim did not rule out accepting compensation from the U.S., but said the Americans hadn't contacted the family.
"We will come up with our reaction only when we receive any offer from America," Adeelur Rehman told AP.
The Pakistanis' deaths have spurred several rallies against Davis, many of them organized by Islamist parties and fueled by elements in Pakistan's hyperactive media. They also have given new life to conspiracy theories in Pakistan about armed American mercenaries roaming the country's streets at will.
Pakistan's government is in a tough spot. If it releases Davis, it risks angering violent elements in its population — including the Taliban, who have threatened to attack any official involved in letting the American go. The ruling party also risks further alienating voters already unhappy with its performance.
But to keep Davis in prison is to anger the United States, which provides Pakistan with billions in aid but also needs its cooperation to take on militants who use its soil to plan attacks in Afghanistan and the West. The U.S. has begun curbing diplomatic contacts and threatened to withhold aid if Davis is not freed, with President Barack Obama stressing the importance of upholding agreements covering diplomatic immunity.
Earlier this week, a Pakistani government official, speaking anonymously because of the sensitivity of the issue, said the government would present documents to the court Thursday that indicate Davis does qualify for immunity.
But that effort appeared to have been undermined Wednesday when the recently resigned foreign minister, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, told reporters his advisers had told him that Davis does not necessarily qualify for blanket protection from prosecution.
Qureshi made the comments after a meeting with Kerry, and they may have been the reason the government asked the Lahore High Court for more time to prepare its decision. Chief Justice Ijaz Chaudhry delayed the hearing until March 14.
Davis faces potential murder charges. He is in a Pakistani jail and is on a list barring him from leaving the country, officials said.
The U.S. says Davis is part of the embassy's "administrative and technical staff." That indicates he might have been a security official and helps explain his possession of a gun. Pakistanis have focused on him being an ex-Special Forces soldier who helps run an American "protective services" company.
The U.S. says he is an embassy employee but was on temporary duty at the consulate in Lahore. That has added to the confusion about his status since employees assigned to consulates do not always get the same level of diplomatic protection as those assigned to embassies.
Before leaving Pakistan on Wednesday, Kerry said he was hopeful the next few days would bring progress toward resolving the dispute. But late Thursday, U.S. Ambassador Cameron Munter expressed disappointment at Pakistan's failure to certify Davis' immunity in court.
"As the senator said during his visit, we want to work together as two countries that have a common interest in the same goal and find a path forward," said Munter, who also expressed regret for the Pakistani deaths.

Baghdad demands $1 billion from US in war damages

BAGHDAD – The Baghdad city government is demanding the United States pay $1 billion and apologize for damage to the city caused by blast walls erected during the nearly eight-year long war.
City officials filed a lawsuit in an Iraqi court against the U.S. military, a media official said Thursday. He did not want to be identified due to the sensitivity of the situation.
In an official statement posted late Wednesday on its website, the local government said U.S. forces had marred the "beautiful city."
Blast walls "put up at the pretext of security" damaged the sewage system and sidewalks, caused traffic jams and paralyzed business, the statement read.
City officials want an official apology and $1 billion to pay for the damage.
However, Kamil al-Zaidi, the head of the Baghdad provincial council said Iraqi security forces should also share responsibility for the miles of concrete barriers that crisscross the capital.
"The Iraqi security bodies, not only the Americans, bear part of the responsibility for putting up these walls," he said.
Al-Zaidi added that the concrete barriers have helped saved lives and protect government buildings during the waves of deadly bombings that have struck Iraq over the years.
The tall grey slabs of concrete have become one of the defining images of this nearly eight-year long war. They were put up all over Iraq by American and Iraqi forces to absorb bomb blasts and encircle almost every government building, mosque and military facility.
During the height of the insurgency, whole neighborhoods were walled off as a way to keep militias and insurgents from moving easily into an area to launch an attack and then darting back to their home territory.
Iraqis are both grateful for the protection the concrete barriers provide and annoyed at the eyesore they've become and the way they jam traffic. Garbage can be seen heaped up along the barriers; Iraqi artists have tried with little success to beautify the walls by painting them.
The city has recently begun removing many of the concrete barriers, sometimes called T-walls because they resemble an inverted "T."
Baghdad municipal officials decided earlier this week to demand compensation after they lifted the walls from a main street in eastern Baghdad and noted extensive damage to the pavement, road and sewage system, the statement read.

Hurts are an English synthpop duo from Manchester composed of singer Theo Hutchcraft (originally from North Yorkshire) and synth player Adam Anderson.

In July 2009, the band featured as "Band of the Day" on Guardian.co.uk.^[1] They finished in fourth position in BBC's Sound of 2010 poll.^[2]

The band's song "Wonderful Life" was notably remixed by Arthur Baker. In early 2010 they officially released their debut single, "Better Than Love" with a famous Romanian actress named Laura Cosoi, and played their first ever live shows. The song "Unspoken" produced by Sky is the Limit turned heads with its synths and orchestra bridge as it was created by an unknown but creative individual. The song "Illuminated" also was the soundtrack to Sky1 HD's advert to promote their best-watched seasonal programmes in High Definition (Bones, House,^{[citation needed]} Fringe, Stargate Universe) in spring/summer 2010.

Their debut album called Happiness was released on 6 September 2010.^[3] It contains a duet with Kylie Minogue entitled "Devotion". Hurts revealed plans to release a Christmas single.^[7] The duo released "All I Want for Christmas Is New Year's Day" in December 2010. News of the single was confirmed on their label RCA's official website, as well as by their A&R team. They tweeted: "News just in! Thai, Cambodian clashes resume at disputed border

PHNOM PENH, Cambodia — Cambodia called for UN peacekeepers to help end the fighting along its tense border with Thailand, where artillery fire echoed for a fourth day Monday near an 11th century temple classified as a World Heritage Site.
The crumbling stone temple, several hundred metres from Thailand's eastern border with Cambodia, has fueled nationalism on both sides of the disputed frontier for decades and conflict over it has sparked sporadic, brief battles in recent years. However, sustained fighting has been rare.
A one-hour clash Monday morning stopped after both sides agreed to an unofficial cease-fire. Fighting has erupted daily since Friday, leaving at least five dead.
Cambodian officials say a Thai artillery barrage Sunday collapsed part of "a wing" at the Preah Vihear temple, a UN World Heritage site, but Thai officials have dismissed that account as propaganda. The extent of damage was unknown because it remained too dangerous to approach the temple, Cambodian authorities said.
Both sides blame the other for instigating each day's clashes, which have shattered a series of cease-fire agreements.
Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen has warned that the fighting poses a threat to regional stability. He said the latest clash was sparked after Thai soldiers crossed the border in search of a slain comrade, and Cambodians opened fire to repel them. He spoke Monday during a university graduation ceremony in the capital, Phnom Penh, reiterating calls from a day earlier for UN intervention to halt the fighting.
"We need the United Nations to send forces here and create a buffer zone to guarantee that there is no more fighting," Hun Sen said, adding that the situation kept deteriorating and the two sides were no longer listening to each other.
Hun Sen has sent a letter to the UN Security Council calling for an emergency meeting to help end the fighting.
Thailand's Foreign Ministry sent its own letter to the Security Council on Monday to formally protest the "repeated and unprovoked armed attacks by Cambodian troops." In the past Thailand has ruled out foreign involvement in its dispute with Cambodia.
Cambodian government spokesman Phay Siphan said skirmishes began again early Monday after halting around midnight. There was no immediate comment from Thai authorities, but an Associated Press reporter in the area said the sound of gunfire and artillery could be heard.
Late Sunday, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said he was "deeply concerned" by the fighting and urged both sides "to exercise maximum restraint," his spokesperson said in a statement.
Singapore's Foreign Ministry voiced its concern in a statement Monday and called for the two neighbors to negotiate for their own sake and "the broader interests of ASEAN."
The 10-member Association of Southeast Asian Nations has long been a stable region, where the exchange of cross-border gunfire is highly unusual.
In 1962, the World Court determined that the Preah Vihear temple belongs to Cambodia. Thai nationalists dispute the ruling and have seized on it as a domestic political issue.
Built between the 9th and 11th centuries, Preah Vihear is dedicated to the Hindu diety Shiva and revered partly for having one of the most stunning locations of all the temples constructed during the Khmer empire -- the most famous of which is Angkor Wat. It sits atop a 525-metre cliff in the Dangrek Mountains about 240 kilometres north of the Cambodian capital.
UNESCO calls the site "an outstanding masterpiece of Khmer architecture." The Khmer empire, which once encompassed parts of Thailand and Vietnam, shrank to the size of present-day Cambodia. The country was plunged into civil war, and the temple fell into disrepair.
Tensions have risen in recent days because of demonstrations in the Thai capital, Bangkok, demanding that the government oust Cambodians from the area near the temple.
At least five people have died in the border clashes that began Friday -- one civilian and one soldier from Thailand and one civilian and two soldiers from Cambodia. On Sunday night, a Thai army spokesman said about 10 Thai soldiers were wounded.

Dari rekaman yang diambil pada malam hari itu, terlihat bahwa sebuah cahaya terang turun dari langit ke bagian atas bangunan Temple of the Rock (disebut juga dengan kubah batu atau Qubbat Al-Sakhrah). Tempat ini dipercaya umat Islam sebagai tempat di mana Nabi Muhammad melakukan Isra' Mikraj (perjalanan ke surga) dengan menumpang Bouraq.
Banyak yang meyakini kesahihan hasil rekaman ini, karena terdapat beberapa rekaman yang sama yang di ambil dari berbagai posisi. Namun, banyak pula yang menganggapnya hanya sekadar video rekayasa alias hoax.

Sebab, salah satu rekaman terlihat goyang dan patah-patah. "Jika memang itu pesawat luar angkasa, pesawat itu sangat kecil," kata Benjamin Radford, salah satu pengamat, kepada Discovery News, lewat e-mail.

Dari analisa Radford, pengamatan terhadap ukuran dan jarak pesawat luar angkasa ke kubah menunjukkan bahwa ukuran pesawat tak lebih besar daripada sebuah mobil limousine. "Tak berarti itu bukan pesawat luar angkasa, tapi fakta ini membuat Anda bertanya-tanya," kata Radford.

Seperti dimuat laman CNN, salah satu yang tertera dalam file ini adalah penglihatan seorang pria di Birmingham, Inggris pada Maret 1997. Dia mengaku pulang kerja pada pukul 04.00 dini hari. Saat itu dia melihat benda besar berbentuk segitiga biru di kebun belakang rumahnya.

Situasi saat itu sunyi senyap, tapi anjing-anjing peliharaan tetangganya terus menggonggong. Penampakan hanya sejenak, kurang lebih tiga menit. Ketika benda itu pergi, meninggalkan benda seperti sutra berwarna putih di puncak pepohonan. Pria itu mengaku menyimpan beberapa di toples miliknya. Namun, tak jelas apa yang terjadi pada stoptles tersebut.

Dokumen yang lain berasal dari Januari 1997. Seorang pria yang sedang menyetir mobil pulang di selatan Wales mengatakan dia melihat tabung cahaya turun dari langit. Saat itu, dia mengira bintang-bintang menghambur ke arahnya.

Telepon genggam dan radio mobil tak menyala, dia lalu keluar dan berjalan menuju cahaya. Laporan itu mengatakan dia bisa kembali ke mobilnya, lalu tiba-tiba dia merasa kesakitan.

Mereka melihat benda itu dengan mata telanjang, juga melalui teropong. Laporan itu memberi penegasan, 'saksi-saksi sangat skeptis dengan keberadaan UFO'.

Para saksi lalu melacak lewat radar beberapa detik sebelum benda itu raib.

Para petugas polisi di Boston, Inggris dan Skegness menangkap gambar UFO di video. Dalam waktu bersamaan Royal Air Force mendeteksi 'blib' tak dikenal di radar mereka.

Di waktu bersamaan, pada Oktober 1996, para petugas polisi melihat spiral berwarna biru, merah, hijau, dan cahaya hijau di langit. Sebuah kapal di teluk Wash juga melihat cahaya aneh itu.

Laporan UFO di era 1990-an berbeda dengan era sebelumnya. Jika saat ini digambarkan UFO sebagai benda besar, hitam, dan segitiga, laporan di tahun 1940-an dan 1950-an menggambarkan UFO seperti piring atau benda berbentuk cakram.

David Clarke, penulis buku berjudul' The UFO File ' mengatakan penglihatan anyar soal UFO diduga terpengaruh acara-acara TV 'The X-Files' dan film-film seperti 'Independence Day.'

"Sangat tak mungkin untuk membuktikan hubungan langsung antara apa yang dilihat dan dibaca dengan laporan UFO. Namun, itu bisa mempengaruhi interpretasi mengenai apa yang orang lihat di langit," kata dia.

Sebuah hasrat tentang coklat mungkin telah mempengaruhi penglihatan lain, yaitu sebuah 'UFO berbentuk Toblerone'.

Di era perang teluk kita sering menyaksikan dilayar kaca kemampuan kapal induk dalam memobilisasi pasukan. Bayangkan saja, 300.000 ribu pasukan Amerika yang menduduki Irak membutuhkan peralatan yang banyak. Mulai dari pesawat, tank, altileri, dll. Semua itu sebagian besar di suplai oleh kapal induk.

Kapal Induk diperkirakan mampu mengangkut sekitar 80 pesawat dari berbagai tipe , 2000 awak, 4000 berbagai macam bom, plus bahan makanan. Jenis –jenis pesawat yang dingkut (khusus kapal induk Amerika) ada sekitar enam tipe yaitu, F/A-18 Hornets, F-14 Tomcats, SH-60 Seahawks, S-3B Vikings, E-2C Hawkeyes and EA-6B Prowlers.

Desain Kapal Induk

Primary Flight Control (pri-ply) adalah menara kontrol yang mengatur seluruh operasi penerbangan. Di menara seluruh pergerakan pesawat dipantau baik saat takeoff, landing maupun pergerakan disekitar kapal induk

Bridge merupakan ruang kontrol utama saat kapal induk berlayar. Semua perintah yang mempengaruhi seluruh pergerakan kapal, di instruksikan oleh Officer of the Deck (OOD) dari tempat ini. OOD mengawasi selama 4 jam dan bertanggung jawab atas keamanan dan operasi kapal induk, termasuk navigasi, komonikasi, inspeksi dan tes rutin dan mengawasi seluruh team. Juru mudi (mengendalikan kapal) dan juru mesin (mengendalikan mesin) yang diawasi oleh seorang kepala kelasi melakukan aktifitasnya diatas brige.

Second deck merupakan tempat awak kapal induk beraktifitas. diruangan ini tempat makan, cafetaria dan dapur umum.

Third deck tempat bengkel, loundry, ruang kesehatan, tempat alat ruang pendingin, telepon umum (untuk awak).Engine room merupakan tempat mesin, bahan bakar. areal ini merupakan areal yang sangat terjaga karena merupakan jantungnya kapal induk.

Deck adalah permukaan yang datar diatas kapal tempat takeoff dan landing pesawat tempur
Hangar deck adalah area dibawah deck yang digunakan untuk menyimpan pesawat (memuat 70-80 pesawat )

Catapult merupakan alat untuk melontarkan pesawat sebelum takeoff. dengan empat buah catapult kapal induk dapat menerbangkan satu pesawat setiap 20 detik. Catapult terdiri dari piston besar (300 kaki) yang dibenamkan di dalam deck, pada permukaan deck hanya berupa peralatan kecil yang dipasang pada roda depan pesawat (plane's nose gear ). Alat ini yang akan melontarkan pesawat dengan akselerasi 0-160 knot dalam 2 detik.

Mengenal Lapisan Bumi

Bumi tempat kita tinggal terdiri dari empat lapisan yaitu kerak bumi merupakan lapisan terluar tebalnya rata-rata 32 km, lapisan mantel tebalnya 2.900 km, lapisan inti bagian luar tebalnya 2.250 km, dan lapisan inti yang tebalnya 1.280 km.

Lapisan-lapisan kulit Bumi

Lapisan terluar tempat kita tinggal di sebut kerak bumi, kerak bumi terdiri dari batuan padat dengan ketebalan rata-rata 32 km. Lapisan kerak Bumi paling tebal sekitar 65 km yang berada dibawah daratan. Kemampuan manusia dalam mengali kerak Bumi baru sekitar 15 km. Lapisan kerak Bumi tertipis berada di bawah samudra yaitu sekitar 8 km, tepatnya di bawah palung Mariana (kedalaman palung 11 km).

Lapisan mantel yang tebalnya 2.900 km terdiri dari mineral-mineral seperti besi dan magnesium serta magma (batuan cair).

Inti Bumi terletak pada laisan terdalam. Inti bagian luar dengan ketebalan 2.250 km terdiri dari unsur besi yang berujud cair. Sedangkan inti Bumi bagian dalam berupa besi padat. Panas di inti bumi di perkirakan 5.000 derajat Celcius. Jadi dengan kata lain kita hidup di atas kompor yang maha panas!
