I found this on the Jump Starting Me blog and realized I haven’t done one of these in a long time.

Do you sleep with your closet doors open or closed? Closed! How creepy to sleep with them open!
Do you take the shampoos and conditioner bottles from hotel? Yes! I love those little bottles. It’s like Christmas to me!
Do you sleep with your sheets tucked in or out? Not tucked in. I’ll go to great lengths to make sure they are not tucked in. If claustrophobic if they’re tucked in.
Have you ever stolen a street sign before? Not stolen, but taken from a Public Works warehouse.
Do you like to use post-it notes? Yes! I love the colorful cubes.
Do you cut out coupons but then never use them? I go through phases with coupons. Currently, I’m not couponing.
Would you rather be attacked by a big bear or a swarm of a bees? Bees.
Do you have freckles? Yep.
Do you always smile for pictures? No!
What is your biggest pet peeve? Bad/slow drivers.
Do you ever count your steps when you walk? Yes. It’s quite annoying!
Have you ever peed in the woods? Yes.
What about pooped in the woods? I can’t recall a specific incidence, but I know it’s happened when I was young and hiking.
Do you ever dance, even if there is no music playing? Yes! I want to be a real dancer when I grow up!
Do you chew your pens and pencils? Yep.
What size is your bed? Queen. I want a king though!
Is it ok for guys to wear pink? Why wouldn’t it be?
Do you still watch cartoons? No, unless it’s with the boys.
What's your least favorite movie? There are too many to list! Worst ever has to be “Weekend with Bernie”.

Would you ever strip or pose nude in a magazine? Yeah, um, no?! Not in this body anyway!

How many languages can you speak? One. I could get by in a Spanish speaking country because I understand it when it’s spoken to me, but can’t speak it all that well.
Do you have any magazine subscriptions? Yes. I’ve been taking advantage of Groupon-like sites and getting some great deals. I currently get Reader’s Digest, Taste of Home, Men’s Health and just bought one for some parenting magazine.
Which are better Legos or Lincoln Logs? Legos.
Are you stubborn? Yes! I don’t care for it either!
Ever watch soap operas? I used to watch Days of Our Lives off and on since I was young. I feel like I can skip it a few years and hop right back in to it!
Afraid of heights? Yes! But, the older I get the less afraid I am.
Sing in the car? Absolutely! I can’t not sing in the car!
Dance in the shower? No. Don’t want to fall!

Ever eat a pierogi? Nope. I don’t even know what one is.

Ever have plastic surgery? In my mind I’ve had a breast reduction and a tummy tuck, but nothing ever in real life!

Can you knit or crochet? Only a scarf!
Do you want to get married? I think I have to say yes since I already am married, right?
Do you have kids? I sure do. I have two boys! I always knew I’d have boys!
What is your favorite color? Purple, without a doubt!
Do you wear shoes in the house? No! I hate wearing shoes!
Who would you call first if you won the lottery? Kurt or my mom.
What's the first thing you do when you go online? Facebook, Hotmail, Blogger, Pinterest…in that exact order.
Do you like sushi? No. I’ve tried it numerous times, I just can’t like it. I’d like to be cool and hang with the sushi crowd, I just can’t.
What are you doing tomorrow? It’s Saturday and we have NO plans other than to spend the day at the pool with friends!

Project Pinterest: Gradient Nail Manicure

This is one of my favorite things I've done from Pinterest! I am normally not that in to doing my fingernails, but once I saw this, I couldn't help but head to Walgreens, get some polish, and get going on this project.

I got it from Makeup Withdrawal.

Mine turned out less than perfect, but from a distance it looks so pretty; kind of like a sunset!

Out and About in Matlacha, FL

My aunt (do you say 'ant' or 'ohnt'?) and uncle have lived in little Matlacha, FL for 30 years, give or take a few. I have visited there numerous times and am just shocked by how much it's changed in the eight years I've been gone. It's almost like a little Key West now. What's neat about this town is that all of the residential area has canals as back yards. Growing up in South Dakota and going down there to FL was always such a culture shock to me. Now though, living in South Carolina, it doesn't feel as different as I remember it feeling as a kid.

While my boys and uncle were out on the boat (you can see those pictures here), my aunt and I had some time to lollygag around the town. I was in awe of how much it's changed.

Project Pinterest: Gross Grease Solution

I HATE the grease that bacon and hamburger leave behind. I used to strain or pour the grease into a tin can if I had one available. The problem is that I don't use a lot of canned goods so there have been many times where I haven't had a can available to use. I've done many ridiculous things like waiting for the grease to solidify and scrape it out in the trash. In the process I'd get it on me and I was never happy about that.

I just saw that I pinned this 11 weeks ago. Back then (yeah, waaaayyy back then) I didn't check to make sure what I was pinning came from an original link. I just tried to trace this one back and can't find the original post. So, I can't give credit to anyone.

Here's my bacon grease. I like to broil bacon. I used a chipped bowl and put tin foil gently into the bowl, being careful so that the foil didn't rip.

Then I put it in the freezer and took out the tin foil ball in the Thursday's trash!

Project Pinterest: Frozen (and Delicious!) Limeade Pie

I got this easy frozen limeade pie recipe from When Pigs Fly. I remembered eating this as a child and totally feeling so refreshed by it.

There's only four ingredients...it's as easy as pie! ;)

Frozen Limeade Pie

graham cracker crust

can of frozen limeade, thawed

8 oz container of Cool Whip, thawed

can of sweetened condensed milk

Mix all ingredients and put in graham cracker crust. Freeze for a few hours until frozen. Or, do like I did and only freeze it for an hour because you can't wait any longer.

**Warning**

It won't come out beautifully if you don't freeze it long enough, but it sure will taste refreshing!

DSLR or P&S?

About half of these shots were taken with my old point and shoot. Amazingly enough, I love some of these shots just as much as I love the shots with my DSLR. Can you tell which was shot with a P&S and which was shot with a DSLR?

A Little Artsy-Fartsy - PSE Photomerge

This is one of those pictures that one minute I think is amazingly beautiful and the next minute I think is childishly hideous photography. It's a toss up. Apparently, at this moment, I'm feeling pretty good about it. I used PSE's Photomerge.

I took two different exposures of the same shot and did a quick File > New > Photomerge > and combined two different exposures of the almost the same shot.

Project Pinterest: Fajita Seasoning Mix

Hello! We had a lot of great projects shared here last week. It's hard to choose a favorite, but I will! This week my favorite link-up was Denise's from her blog Run DMT! Her humor about Martha Stewart cracked me up! Her Martha Stewart Shortbread Candy Bars looked devine. Denise, look for you "I've Been Featured" button in your inbox!

On to this week's project. We have a few favorite meals that rotate at our house. One is fajitas! Usually I bought prepackaged seasoning mixes (which of course have all the icky stuff like msg in them) and was ok with that because I tend to like what is convenient and easy. Until, I came upon the notion that you could easily make your own fajita seasoning with spices you most likely already have in your cupboard! I found the pin at forthemommas.com.

I quadrupled the recipe so I could have it to use whenever I needed it without having to drag all the spices out again.

See, I'm all about quick and easy!

4 TBSP cornstarch

8 tsp chili powder

4 tsp sugar

2 tsp salt

4 tsp paprika

2 tsp onion powder

1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes

1 tsp garlic powder

2 tsp cayenne pepper

1 tsp cumin

Mix all thoroughly and put in an empty spice container for later use.

I don't have a picture, but I thought I'd share how I make fajitas too.

Cut up an onion in thick (1/2 inch) slices. Cut up a green pepper in thick slices. Cut up a red pepper in thick slices. Cut a protein (our favorite is thin, lean steak) in strips. Heat a large skillet on medium-high. Add a little EVOO or canola oil. Toss in meat and cook for a minute or so, or until it's no longer pink. Add in veggies and seasoning. Stir around and cook until preferred doneness. Serve in a tortilla shell with sour cream. Yum!

Project Pinterest: Taco Pizza Just Like Taco Bell's

Well hello! It's been so long since we've seen each other for Project Pinterest. Welcome back! We have a new co-host. Let me introduce you to Sandee from In the Hill of North Carolina! Between us, we've go the Carolinas covered!

We're shaking it up a bit too and will each choose a favorite project each week and feature the "winning" project on the next week's Project Pinterest post and you'll get this "I've Been Featured on Project Pinterest" button to proudly display on your blog!

OK, on to the project! Anyone else a huge Taco Bell fan? I'm not a fast-food junkie. I could care less about ever eating at a McD's, Sonic, KFC, etc., but I could not live without Taco Bell!

I found the post on The Country Cook's blog.

Here's what you need:

tortillas

ground beef (or turkey)

taco seasoning

refried beans

enchilada sauce (red or green)

shredded cheese (Mexican blend works well)

chopped roma tomatoes

Preheat the oven to 350. You can either fry your tortillas or brush a little EVOO on the front and back side of each and bake for about 4-5 minutes per side or until crispy and brown.

Meanwhile, brown the ground beef, drain grease, and add seasoning. Open refried beans and warm them in the microwave or stove top.

*The key to keeping the tortillas nice and crispy is to have a nice and hot baking stone to cook them on.*

Put a tortilla on the stone. Spread refried beans on and heap seasoned ground beef on top of the beans. Place another tortilla on top. Pour on the enchilada sauce to cover the tortilla. Top with cheese and tomatoes.

Bake until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Eat and enjoy! I know you will!

We're on spring break! The boys and Kurt are on a sailboat in the Gulf of Mexico with my uncle. I'm a ball of nerves and happy to have some "alone" time as well. The boys have never been on the boat (a 45-ft sailboat). Anytime there's something new, Charlie goes through several emotions and although he was excited, he was also quite stressed. I'm hoping and praying things are going well and am continaully praying and asking God to take special watch over them while they're gone.

I didn't even bring my computer so there will be no pictures yet or no Project Pinterest this week. Can't wait to share photos next week with you though!

Project Pinterest: Diet Mt. Dew

This week is a little different. OK, a lot different. I didn't do anything this week. I gave up Dt. Mt. Dew last week. For most, that might not be a big deal, but for me, it's huge. I've been drinking it every day for the past 20-some years. I wanted to take a small step toward less artificial food. This was my step. It's been HELL! I cannot get over this horrible headache. I'm very frustrated. It's been 11 days and I feel miserable. I'm drinking a ton of water and just wishing I would feel well.

Anyway, there is no Project Pinterest (or anything else) this week. Ugh!

Project Pinterest: Veggie Patch Pizza Applebee's Style

I haven't been to an Applebee's in ages and had forgotten how I completely am in love with their veggie patch pizza. I don't even know if they have it anymore, but when I used to go there frequently, a veggie patch pizza was what I always got. I saw this recipe on the Peas and Crayons blog, I immediately pinned it and had a smile from ear to ear because I had totally forgotten about my love for these pizzas!

The awesome thing is that it's EASY and FAST!!

Here's what you need:

-small pitas

-one box of creamed spinach (microwaved as per package instructions) or spinach artichoke dip

-baby portobello mushrooms

-mozzarella cheese

-roma tomato (chopped)

Here's what you do:

Preheat the oven to 350. I used a Pampered Chef baking stone and let it heat up with the oven. Meanwhile, I put the creamed spinach in the microwave and sauteed the mushrooms in a pat of butter and seasoned with a tad bit of garlic salt. Then I put the warmed spinach on the pita. Then the mushrooms, some mozzarella cheese and some tomatoes on top. I baked it until the cheese was melted (about six or seven minutes).

They tasted divine! Seriously, this is going to be in my usual repertoire from now on. They were even delicious cold!

Project Pinterest: On My To Do List

Hey ya'll!

This week has been very weird here. I haven't been feeling well so I didn't get around to doing any of the Pinterest things I wanted to do. I started making this Mexican pizza but then had to quit midway through because it was brought to my attention that it was time to go to football practice. How did I totally forget the time of practice? Yeah, I don't know either. I put all the ingredients in the fridge and will make them tomorrow and share tomorrow.

Project Pinterest: Rocks as Angry Birds

We were a little late jumping on the Angry Birds bandwagon, but now we can't get enough of it! I saw this post, went to Brassy Apple and got inspired to help the boys create a set of Angry Birds of their own.

The boys collected rocks to match the sizes and shapes of birds and pigs.

We have so much acrylic paint that we didn't even need to head to the store for any specific colors! We all painted the rocks and let them dry. The hard part was waiting for the paint to dry! After the paint dried I sent the boys out to play and used a Sharpie to draw the features then used a toothpick to paint on the details. The Angry Birds' home is a lovely egg carton.

Do you notice the pollen? We can't escape from it!

After a few days of waiting patiently, the boys set up some old building blocks in the garage and put the pigs in their places.

After the knockdown with the slingshot, Ryan sets it up again. They boys had such a fun time with this one!

Project Pinterest: Frozen Yogurt Drops

I was so happy to see this blog post from One Good Thing about these tasty little treats so I pinned it right away! They are easy to make and that's enough reason for me to try them out!

I first lined a plate with wax paper and put a sandwich baggie in a glass. I spooned a small container of Activia blueberry yogurt into the baggie and cut off the tip. Then I squeezed little dots of yogurt on the wax paper. Watch out for those little blueberries though! They get stuck and then will basically explode out when they're ready to pop through. That's the reason why they're not all the same size. Then I put them in the freezer for a few hours while I was at the boys' football practice. When we got home I popped them right off the wax paper and into a little ramekin and enjoyed my little 70 calorie snack. These will definitely be in my usual repertoire of snacks!
