I have a Kodak ESP 5250 All-in-One wireless printer which I have connected wirelessly to my MacBookPro laptop. The Kodak Network Configuration printout states that it is connected and the blue wireless light on the printer is on solid,indicating connection. When I attempt to print I am advised that the printer is offline. How do I get it back online?

Make sure the printer is connected to your computer, plugged in, and turned on.
For Mac OS X 10.2.8 or earlier, from the Printer menu in the print dialog choose Edit Printer List. The Printer List window appears.
For Mac OS X 10.3 or later, choose Show Printer List from the View menu. The Printer List window appears.
choose AppleTalk or "LPR Printers using IP"
Enter your IP let it find the printer and click on add.

AppleTalk must be enabled in Network preferences.
If your network uses AppleTalk zones, choose one from a second pop-up menu that appears.
Make sure to avoid potential issues with AppleTalk multi-homing.

I have a Samsung Stratosphere phone and have synced my g-mail contacts to my phone. When trying to use the navigation app (also a Google product) I am given the choice of navigation using my contacts but I receive a message that says I don't have any contacts with addresses. I do have addresses in some of my contacts but the Verizon people tell me that I have to enter the address in by voice (doesn't work very well) or type in each address each time I want to navigate somewhere. I have a hard time believing that Google would not have some way of syncing my g-mail with my navigation app. Can you help me?

Unfortunately this is a bug from the one of the map app updates. Right now the best way to do it is to open maps. Tap on directions and then choose end point. Tap of contacts and your contact list should open. Select your contact and then press navigate. You can also try updating your map app again and see if it works properly after that.

Ok thank you on the computer you are currently on go to this page: Click Here
Then by default for the username leave it blank and password use admin
Click on wireless and then wireless security.
Your password will show under wireless security.
If you are using WEP you will see a passphrase and 4 keys.
You should see something next to a key there it will be similar to 0022EEAA00
That is the key you need to enter on the kindle if using WEP.

You can not put audio from itunes into your phone unless it is an iphone. Itunes is made specifically to work with only apple products. However if you connect your phone to your computer and then click on start and computer (assuming you are using windows) your phone should be listed there. Open it and there should be a music folder. Drag and drop any music files you want on the phone into that folder.

Ok please try a static discharge. To do that unplug it and remove the battery. Wait 10 minutes and then with the battery still removed hold down the power button for 30 seconds. Insert the battery and try to turn it on.

That error message means that the lens is stuck and cannot extend fully. There are small plastic runners in the lens tube and when they get jammed the lens will not rotate and then will not extend. In order to fix this normally the lens needs to be replaced.

computer had a virus yesterday and after cleanup is running very slow. we loaded registry mechanic. This fixed a number of errors. We cleaned the disc and ran the latest updated web route application. Still no better.

The first thing I suggest you do is get rid of the registry mechanic. Registry cleaners actually do more harm than good. They can delete one registry entry and render your entire windows installation unusable.

Click start and then on all programs
Then click on accessories and then system tools
Run the disc clean up and then empty the recycle bin on the desktop
Once you have done that go back to system tools again
Now run the disk defragmenter it's going to take a little while

After that uninstall any programs you don't need from the control panel in the start menu
Then click start and in the search box type in cmd
Right click on command prompt in the list and click on run as administrator even if you are one.
Type this exactly the way I have it including spaces
CHKDSK /f /r
Then press enter on the keyboard and a message will come up
It will say something about a restart or a reboot
Type in Y and press enter on the keyboard
Then restart the computer and let that finish
It should speed up a decent amount after all of that is done

I tried to run the command and cannot get it to make myself the administrator. When I right click on the command prompt I do not have a selection for administrator.

Instead of doing it that way click on start and then computer.
Right click on the C drive and click on properties.
Then click on the tools tab at the top.
Under error checking click on check now.
Check both check boxes and then click on start.
It will ask you to reschedule for restart choose yes.
Then restart your computer and let the scan run.

This can happen if the lens is dirty or needs to be replaced. Try using a lens cleaner kit any electronics or store like walmart will sell them. Make sure you get the one labeled CD and not DVD and run it on the player. Once it is cleaned test it again and see if the same thing happens. If it does unfortunately the lens is going to need to be replaced. It is the part that reads the disc as it spins inside the machine.

You need to use cloud printing in order to do that as well as Hp's eprint. Here are the steps on how to set it up: Click Here Once it is set up you can use CTRL+P on the chromebook keyboard in order to print.

No, you haven't understood the problem .... I already use Cloud Print and eprint to print from the Chromebook and it works fine. My problem is to transmit a file scanned on the 7510 directly to the Chromebook through the household wireless network. I think the short answer is that I need suitable HP software on the Chromebook (if it exists and I can't find it so far) which would have to be downloaded from the web as the bloody thing has no CD drive.

Thank you for clarifying as you never mentioned anything about scanning or using it over the network in your question. Unfortunately there isn't any software like that for the Chromebook. The closest thing would be to scan on another computer and then email it to yourself and open that email on the Chromebook.

- tried with battery fully as well as about half charged; - does not seem to make a difference.
- no error message appears; it just shuts down and about a second later turns on the routine with the white page with 'HTC' in the middle; - sometimes it continues the 'turn on' process from here and asks for the 'SIM-card' code; - after getting this it will work normally for about 15 min. for then to arbitrarily again perform a full 'shut down'.

Let's try a hard reset. First backup all your contacts and anything else you need to save from it. Then follow these steps.

Turn the power off. If your HTC Desire is frozen, pull the battery out and reinsert it
Hold the Volume Down button
Press and release the Power button
You are now presented with a menu that allows for Fastbook, Recovery, Clear Storage, and Simlock
Select Clear Storage by pressing the Volume Down button
Press and release the Power button
Now simply confirm your decision: Volume Up for YES

Now test it again and see if the same thing happens. If it does and you are using a microsd card remove the sd card and test it. Sometimes the sd cards get corrupted and will cause this to happen if it works properly without the card you will need to replace the card. Another possibility is that your sim card is failing and needs to be replaced in which case you would need to get a new ones from your provider.

You can get a usb or firewire cable from any local electronics store or pc shop. The drivers for this model are already installed in vista. So all you should have to do is connect it to the computer and it will search for the drivers and install them automatically.

Your favorites and bookmarks should be in your browser and doesn't actually require anything in gmail. If you press CTRL+B on your keyboard the bookmark toolbar should come up and you should see them there.

What is the exact error including any numbers?
Does the error show on the printer or the computer?
Where on the machine if you are looking at it does the noise sound like it is coming from? (for example left back side)

no numbers just scanner malfunction! that is on the the screen on the machine it's self.
the noise comes from the area where the ink catriges are almost sounds like the catridges are going back and forth & trying to park!but when I open the machine they are not moving & the noise sounds like it is coming from behind that area. is there any way i can put the printer in a scan mode to be able to get you a code??

Unplug the machine and there are 3 screws above the glass remove them.
There will also be one screw to the right of the glass remove that as well.
Pop off the silver display (the plastic part that tells which each button is.).
Underneath is the button control panel.
There is a locking button on the right side of the button control panel, push it up and move the whole panel over to the left.
Lift that piece up and you are left with (2) tabs (one on each side) that hold the scanner onto the unit, I place a flat screw driver under them and pop up the scanner.
The top of the unit should be loose, I keep all the cables plugged in and carefully turned over the top of the unit.
Clean the under side of the glass and make sure none of the cables are disconnected.
Then reverse these steps to put it back together.

OK try to turn the phone completely off. If it wont turn off skip that step. Then remove the battery and sim card for 60 seconds. Now hold down the power button for 10 seconds with them still removed. Put the sim back in and then the battery and try it again.

epson rx560. Will not draw paper through. I have checked for paper jam. The mechanism that feeds the paper in seems ok ie the paper is drawn part way in but goes no further. the rollers inside are free and are working ok but not pulling the paper through?

Turn the machine off then unplug it and disconnect the usb cable (if there is one connected if not skip any USB cable steps).
Remove all paper from the machine and then blow out the feed roller and paper tray thoroughly with compressed air three or four times.
Once done plug in back in and insert a single sheet of paper.
Turn the machine on and then connect the usb cable. Then please test the machine and see if the problem is still there.

If it is next remove all the paper from the machine.
Then with a flashlight look very closely at both the paper feed roller, as well as inside the machine around the ink cartridges.
Something as small as a pin stuck in either area could cause this problem.

Remove all the ink cartridges from the machine
Then clean the contacts on the cartridges as well as inside the machine itself
Do this with a small amount of warm water on a cotton swab until no ink comes off on the swab
If any of the other cartridges are low, empty, leaking or bulging replace them
Then turn off the machine and unplug it for 70 seconds
Plug it back it and wait for the insert cartridges message
Insert the cartridges and check to see if the problem is still there

Dimmusacio I have gone through all the steps that you suggested but the printer is still not working. However I do not think there is a paper jam having now thoroughly cleaned the machine. The problem appears to be on the inlet feed. The paper is pushed forward and then gripped by the white rotating fingers prior to reaching the rollers. The rollers are in good condition and rotate O.K.but the problem seems to be the inlet fingers.
The paper does not feed in on the right hand side, it crumples up. I tried cutting a piece of paper in half longitudinally and feeding it in using the start button on the printer. It feeds through all the way i.e. fingers and rollers O.K. on left hand side. Any ideas?

Manually feed a piece of thick paper through. Something might be caught on the right side behind the feed roller (white cogs). Forcing something thick through it should get anything that is lodged behind it out.

You ask for any tips that may help in future. I found it difficult to see and clean in the roller section. It proved much easier when I partially removed the (scanner head) albeit still attached by the wire and tape. Only 2 screws.

Look at the printer so you are facing the control panel. Then left the top of the machine from underneath the control panel (sometimes it is a little underneath that as well as the scanner can sometimes be below the control panel if it is lift from below that). It will open to the cartridge access area and the cartridges will move over to you. Lift the tab on top of the cartridge in the cradle you will need to push it in slightly while lifting the tab. Remove the old cartridge and then take any tape of the new cartridge and put it in. Close the tab on top of the cartridge and then lift the top of the machine a little bit and push in the stick that propped up the top. Let go and it will close by itself.

I want to scan multiple pictures with each of them being saved as a separate file. How do I set the printer to accomplish that task. Thanks Larry Russell

I am using Windows 7. Yes, I want to scan them all at once and save them separately so I don't have to scan them one at a time.

Ok unfortunately you can't do that with pictures. With documents you could but the problem with pictures is you need to use the adf to scan all at once and have them come out seperate. Scanning a picture in the adf would bend it and ruin it, not to mention it would scan the crease as well. If you were to place them all on the glass the scanner would see it all as one image. Unfortunately with pictures unless they are on regular paper and not photo paper would need to be scanned one at a time to come out without creases and without being bent.

2. Enter “#9000*" then “550”
3. Press “Setup”
4. The digital display will show something like a code
5. waiting about 10 sec then unplug the device

the keyboard on my Pavilion G7 has started locking up...doesn't recognize standard keys. When typing, appears 'hotkeys' are invoked. Get message (from Outlook) 'It appears the CTRL key is held down, do you want to start in safe mode'. Have to reboot computer to be able to type again.

Can you explain what you mean by hotkeys and in what program this happens (or if it is all programs)?

the computer thinks the CTRL key is being held down. There are several threads to the same issue in Google, but not a consistent resolution. The problem is not specific to an application that I can detect. I will be working in word, excel, chatting in IM, etc. when suddently my keyboard will stop recognizing key strokes. All key strokes react as of the CTRL is held down, which is not. My keyboard is clean. Running WIndows 7 professional 64bit. Problem just started within last 2 weeks; intermittent and the only way to 'clear' it is to reboot.

The button can actually get stuck down underneath the key itself. It may be stuck down even without anything touching it because it is stuck under the key. Turn your machine off, unplug it, and then remove the battery.

To check that remove the CTRL key from the keyboard. You would need to push the keys above and below it all the way down and get your finger under the key. Then it should come off easily. Be carefully not to break the small metal pieces as they hold the key down into place. The button itself is in the middle. Make sure there is no dust, hair or anything else stuck around it.

Windows xp, outlook express smartzone.

Put the picture in your scanner, then scan them this way.
1. Click Start , point to All Programs , point to Accessories , and then click Paint .
2. Click File , and then click From Scanner or Camera .
3. Make any desired setting changes.
4. Click Scan .
5. Click file and then save as, save the image to your desktop.

Open outlook express and compose or create a new email.
Click the Create Mail button.

Then click Attach (the paper clip icon) in the toolbar.
Browse to the image you just saved to your desktop.
Then click on attach and the email will have the image in it as an attachment.
Enter the person you want to send it to's email address in the To: field.
Then click on send.

I have windows 7 and the current version of windows live mail. I'm having trouble attaching and sending photo's from the photo gallery. The current version never gave me any problems. Is this an ongoing problem with the current version of windows live mail and is there an update available?

I go to the photo gallery and select a picture. I hit the email option and click on attachment so i can pick the size, usually staying on the medium tag. Windows live email comes up looks good, you can see there's an attachment and I fill in my comments and send. Delivery failure every time.

The delivery failure notification in the last case - but they all fail.

Don't send any pictures just text and email anyone, using windows live mail and let me know if you get the same error.

I can send test emails and I can attach word and exel doc's. It's the picture part that has never worked.

Ok the error you are getting normally means it is having a problem connecting. Please try attaching the photos in the email from the pictures folder on your computer the way you would an excel document and see if the same thing happens.

I followed your instructions and emailed a pic of my cat to my gmail account. 10 seperate emails arrived and only one with the frame of the picture only the picture isn't there. The other 9 emails have lots of unreadable text.

Did you embed the image or send it as an attachment?
Open the one with the frame is there something you can click that says show images?

I sent it as an attachment. when i click on it my options are set as desk top back ground, rotate it etc.

That's strange as an attachment in the email you received you should have to click on a paper clip to open the picture. Please open that message again and see if there is a paper clip you can click on to open the image.

In Gmail it's click on view or download. I have tried to send the picture in the body of the email also with out luck. I have no problem sending pics with Gmail, and I never had any problems with the previous version of window live mail. Should i be contacting micro soft and getting another download of the program. This one came installed on my new lap top?

If it is the one that came installed you may be using windows mail and not windows live mail. Make sure you are using the latest version by downloading and installing it from here: Click Here
