Go to Social Searching site.
Select Facebook or Twitter to which you want to search.

For Facebook:-

In the first box type your name or friend’s name and in the second box type whatever you want to search.

Click on the search button and all your related results will be shown at it’s right side.

For Twitter:-

Login with your Twitter Account.

Same as with Facebook, in the first box type your name or friend’s name and in the second box type whatever you want to search.

Remove Write Protection Error in USB Pen Drive

If while transferring data using your pendrive you get an error like Disk is Write Protected then neither you can send data into it nor copy any data from the pen drive to your PC. By using this trick you can easily remove this error from your Pen Drive.Perform it carefully as it requires editing of registry code.

Trick to Remove Write Protection Error in USB Pen Drive:-

Open Run Dialog box by Pressing Window+R.
Type Regedit and Press Enter.
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrrentControlSet\Control and look for StorageDevicePolicies.

If you cannot find StorageDevicePolicies there then do create this file first.(Look at the end of this article for instructions )
Now you will see WriteProtect in your right window pane, double click on it.
In the Value Data field change the value to 0(zero).
Now restart your system and then use your pen drive.

There is an alternative method to do this just download this zip file that contains both files i.e. Enable/Disable Write Protection: click here.

Method to Create StorageDevicePolicies File:-

Click Start, type regedit.exe and hit ENTER.
Navigate to the following location:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrrentControlSet\Control
Right-click Control and select New and Key.
Name it as StorageDevicePolicies and Right click on it
Select New > DWORD and name it as WriteProtect.

Double click on it and set its value to 0 (zero).
Restart your system and this would Disable write protect on USB.

Trick to Automatically Shutdown PC in Windows

Sometimes you have to shutdown your PC when you are away from it.If you have your antivirus scan running or downloading huge files from internet you can’t sit in front of the pc for whole time.There are a lot of third party softwares which can schedule the shutdown process.By using this trick you can shutdown your Pc using windows scheduler.

Trick to Automatically Shutdown PC in Windows:-

Go to Start and type Task Schedule in the search box and press Enter.
Click on Action and then Create Basic Task.

In Name field give any name for your task and then click on next button.

Select the delay (Daily,weekly etc) after which you want to repeat this task and click on next button.

Now specify the time at which when you want this task to execute and click on next.

Now select Start a Program and click on Next button.
Browse the program which you want to execute and click on next button. For Shutdown Copy/Paste this location:-

C:\Windows\System32\shutdown.exe

After this click on Finish button.

If someone is logged-on your PC at the execution time of the task, he/she is given one minute to save all data which is open before the computer shuts down.

Task scheduler can also be used to schedule other programs.Even Google Chrome uses task scheduler to run the automatic updates

Display Your Name With Time in Taskbar

You can display your name with time instead of AM/PM in taskbar of windows 7,vista and windows Xp without using any third party software.You can use two names and they will be automatically changed during daytime (AM) and Night (PM).This doesn’t require any registry editing or complex programming.

Trick to Display your Name with Time in Taskbar:-

Click on your time in the taskbar and then click on the Change Date and time Setting.

It will open new a window, click on the Change Date and Time Setting.

Now click on the Change Calendar Setting.
In the customize Format window select Time Tab.
In this tab look for AM/PM symbol and give any name that you want to display along with Time
Click on OK button to save changes.

Add Uninstall Option In Right Click Context Menu

Using Menu Uninstaller you can uninstall any program with a single right click on its shortcut.It is compatible with windows xp,Vista and windows 7.

Post Empty Status on Facebook

We usually update our facebook status with a quote or share a line about our day.All of us want to get attention of others to our status.In one of my earlier post I wrote about the trick to Update your facebook status with any device(blackberry,iphone,ipad etc) .

How would you feel if you see a blank status update from someone? Amazed!!
You can’t write a blank status update by simply pressing the Space key and then clicking on Post button.Instead you have to use special codes to write a blank character in your facebook status.

Trick to Post Empty Status on Facebook:-

Login to your Facebook Account and go to Update Status field.
Press and hold Alt key and just type 0173.
Release Alt Key and click on share Post.
That’s all now your empty status will be update.

If the above trick doesn’t work in your account then type @[0:0: ] in your status and share it.

Trick to Integrate Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin in Google+

Have you moved to Google+ but don’t want to loose touch with facebook and Twitter.In one of my earlier post’s I gave you the trick to integrate Google+ and Facebook using Google+Facebook extension. With a new Google Chrome addon Gooce+ you can integrate Facebook,Twitter and Linkedin with your Google+ Accounts.

Requirements:-

Google Chrome web browser
Gooce+ (Google Chrome extension)

Trick integrate various social networking site in google+

Open your Google Chrome web browser and click here to get the Gooce+ extension.
Now Click on Add to chrome button.
Click on Continue button (at the left bottom of your screen) and then click on install button.
Now login to your Google+ Account.
Here you will see Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin icons in your Google+ homepage.

Click on any of the icon that you want to access at that time in Google+. E.g If you want to Log in into Facebook from Google+.
Click on the Facebook Icon and then click on Sign with Facebook button.
Enter your Facebook login details in new popup window.
After login it will Request For Permissions . Click on the Allow button.

That’s it. Now you can update you Facebook status, likes and can do comments .

If you are getting any kind of problem like 404 Error after clicking on the Allow button then don’t panic. Go to your Google+ homepage again and click on the Facebook icon and you will see your Facebook wall on your screen in Google+.

When you open your web browser then it opens your Default Homepage. By using this trick you can select more than one start-up page in Google Chrome:-

Open your chrome browser and click on the Wrench Icon.

Now select option button and click on the Basics Tab in the newly opened window.

In the on Startup field choose Open the Following Pages option.

Click on the Add button and in the pop up window add the URL of the page that you want to open at startup.

Restart (close/open) your browser and it will open all your pages that you have added.

Trick to Enable Bitlocker in Window 7 and How to Use it

All of us have some private data like some personal pictures,office files or any other stuff which we want to protect from others.You can either use encryption using third-party freeware softwares like Axcrypt ,Disguise Folders or you can use Bitlocker (windows inbuilt encryption software) .Using Bitlocker you can lock your local drives .It comes pre-installed in Ultimate and Enterprise editions of windows 7 ,Vista as well as the Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 R2.

Trick to Enable Bitlocker in Window 7:-

Click on the Start button. In the search field type RUN and Click on it.

Now in the Run box type gpedit.msc command and press OK.

Go to this path:-

Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > BitLocker Drive Encryption > Operating System Drives.

In the Right Side window Pane Double Click on the Require Additional Authentication at Startup. This will open a new window.

In newly opened window select Enabled and also don’t forget to check mark Allow BitLocker without a compatible TPM option and click OK.

Trick To Use Bitlocker Encryption:-

Go to My Computer and the Hard Drive that you want to make Password Protected. Right Click on the drive and then click on the Turn on BitLocker.

When you click on the Turn on BitLocker option then a new window will pop up and in this window set your password in password field and click on Next button.

Now it will ask you where you want to save recovery key i.e. to USB, Recovery File, Print Recovery Key. Use any option recommended use Recovery Key to File. Now browse the location in your PC where you want to save this. Keep this file safe because this will help you to unlock your drive when you lost the password and click on next.

Now click on the Start Encryption button and your Encryption will start. It will take some time to complete.

That’s it. When it will completed, you will see a locker type image on the drive and when you double click on it then it will ask you to enter Password.

Trick to Auto Poke Back Friend’s in Facebook

How to Remove URL From Google Search

Everyday billions of searches are made on Google from all over the world.If you own an e-commerce website and your checkout page or old product pages have been indexed in google then you should de-index them.Even if you have a personal website or blog and have removed some indexed pages from it then you should also de-index them from Google otherwise visitor to those pages will see 404 error which is not good for Seo of your website.
If you have just created a page and don’t want it to get indexed you can use robot meta tag in the <head> section of your page.

How to Copy Text From Any Image

Do you need certain information in the form of text from scanned copies of documents.Either you can write the whole text by typing or you can use an OCR software.OCR (optical Character recognition) is method to extract text from images.It can recognise handwritten,printed or typewritten text and can reproduce them into editable word or txt format.
These OCR software also preserve the formmating of the orignal scanned document into converted document.They are not 100% accurate and the converted document still requires some editing.But it is better to use an OCR software and do some editing rather to type the whole Doument.

Earlier I have reviewed top Free OCR softwares .If you have microsoft office installed in your computer then you won’t need any other third-party software as you can use Microsoft Office OneNote to copy text from image.

Trick to Copy Text From Any Image:-

For this you have to install MS-Office on your system.
Now open Microsoft Office OneNote (Start–>All Programs–>Microsoft Office–>Microsoft Office OneNote).
Drag and Drop the image in the MS-OneNote window from which you want copy the text.
Now Right-Click on the image and select Copy Text From Picture option.

Open Notepad or MS-Office (where you want save the text) and paste the content there.

Now you have the whole text in your notepad or Ms-Office.You can edit or format it and save only the required excerpt.

Trick to Auto Shutdown PC in UBUNTU:-

Open Terminal window [Ctrl+Alt+T].
Run the following command to install Gnome Schedule.

sudo apt-get install gnome-schedule

After installing Gnome Scheduler, open Run Application [Alt+F2] and run the following command in it.

gksu gnome-schedule

Click New—>Recurrent Task

Now in the Description field give any display message that you want to show and in the Command field type

/sbin/poweroff

In the Time & Date field set the time when you want to shutdown your PC and click on Add button.
Now your pc will Automatically Shutdown at the scheduled time by displaying the message PC Shutdown at Midnight.

Verify Paypal Account In India

Paypal is used for online money transactions and is a wholly owned subsidiary of eBay .To sign up for a new account in India you will need PAN card number.If your account is not verified you can’t withdraw more than $500 in one month.After verification of your account all limitations will be lifted and you can withdraw as much as you want.

There are two methods to verify a Paypal Account

Confirm Your Bank Account
Confirm Your Credit/Debit Card

Confirm Your Bank Account:-For bank account verification paypal deposits two small amounts in your bank account.You have to look in your account statement and enter the exact amount that have been deposited in your account.

I tried to verify my Punjab National Bank (PNB) account but the amount deposited by paypal didn’t show in my bank statement.

Confirm Your Credit/Debit card:- If you use this option paypal will deduct a small amount usually $1.95 (around 100 Rs).You have to enter the expuse number (4 digit number ) for that transaction in your paypal account.Expuse number should be visible in your credit card statement.The deducted amount will be added into your account after you verify the account.

When I tried to verify using my PNB credit card the money was deducted from my account but the expuse was not available in my credit card transaction details.
I discussed the matter with an employee of my local PNB branch but he had no clue about expuse number.
After a lot of research I found a way to verify paypal account.You need to have a HDFC account for using this trick.

HDFC Netsafe Cards:- Hdfc netsafe is used to create Vitual Credit Cards (VCC).You can create as many virtual master/Visa cards as you want and they will only have the amount you fill in them.

Sign Up for HDFC Netsafe account.
Now login into your Netsafe account.
We have to create a new Virtual credit card.Enter any amount between Rs 100 and 200 and click on GO button.

Now your new credit card will be generated.Copy Virtual Credit Card Number, CVV2 & Card Expiry Date
Open your paypal account and click on Get Verified link.
Now fill all the required fields such as Name,Card Type.In Card number,Expiry Date and Security code enter the details of Virtual credit card (VCC).

Now Click on Save and Continue Button

Now Paypal will deduct an amount of $1.95 from your VCC and you have to locate the expuse number for this transaction.

How To Locate Expuse Number In HDFC Netsafe Card

Click on All Accounts and Services Link
Now click on the Txn. Details button at the bottom of this page.It will open all the transaction details of your virtual credit cards.

Locate the 4-digit Expuse number with paypal transaction.

Copy the code and enter it in your paypal account verification page , click on Submit button.

This will verify your paypal account.

Now all your paypal limitations will be lifted and you can withdraw any amount of money to your bank account.

Make Password Protected ZIP Files using WinRAR

How To make Password Protected ZIP Files using WinRAR:-

Right click on the folder/file which has to be Password Protected and select ADD to Archive option.

From the pop up window select the Advanced Tab.
Now click on the Set Password.

Enter and Verify your Password (Use both Alphabets and Numeric words to make a strong Password).

Now a new compressed file will be generated at the same location of your original file

Now whenever somebody will try to open or extract the files in archive it will ask for the password.

Import/Export Bookmarks In Chrome and Firefox

You can easily import/export your browser (firefox,chrome) bookmarks from one computer to another.You won’t need any additonal third party as it is an inbuilt feature in almost all the browser.This can be very helpful if you have purchased a new computer and want to move all of your bookmarks from your old computer.

How To Import/Export Bookmarks From Browsers:-

In Mozilla Firefox:-

Open Bookmark Manager (Ctrl+Shift+B) of your browser.
Click on Import and Backup button.
Now select Import/Export HTML.

Choose Export HTML option if you want to move bookmarks to another browser/computer and save this Bookmark file in your computer.
Choose Import HTML option if you want to import bookmark list in your browser.
While importing bookmark list select the From an HTML file option and then open the saved bookmark file from your computer.

That’s it. Now imported bookmark list will be stored in Unsorted Bookmark.

For Google Chrome:-

Click on the wrench icon (top right corner ) and select Bookmark Manager.

Click on the Organize button and select Import/Export HTML.

If you want to export your bookmark list to another browser or to another computer then choose Export HTML option and save this Bookmark file in your computer.
If you want to Import bookmark list in your browser then choose Import HTML option and browse your exported HTML file in it.

That’s it. Now imported bookmark list will be stored in Unsorted Bookmark .

Secure your Gmail Account from Hackers

All of us have our Email Accounts on Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail etc.Phising and hacking are on the rise and many of us have already faced the situtaions when our email Id has been compromised.It is very difficult to estimate the loss which one undergoes once his email ID has been hacked.
Now you can add an extra layer of security in your Gmail Account.After enabling this feature you have to enter an addtional verification code (sent to your mobile) to login into your account.So,if somebody hacked your password even then he won’t be able to access your email account.

How to Secure Gmail Account:-

Login to your Gmail Account.
Now open this link https://www.google.com/accounts/SmsAuthConfig.
Click on the Start Setup button.

Choose a verification method.By selecting Text message (SMS) or voice call you will recieve the verification code on you phone either as text message or as a call.

Enter the appropriate information about your country and Mobile Number.

Choose SMS text message or Voice call option according to your need. (I prefer SMS text message).
After giving your mobile number test your phone by clicking on the Send Code button.

Now you will receive a verification code on your given mobile number and type that code in the verification field and click on Verify button.
After verifying your number click on the Next button.

If you lost your mobile or your number is not available when you need it. For this you can save backup codes in to your computer.

Click on Next button again.
Here you will see 10 Backup verification codes. Choose Print codes or Save to text file option whatever you like but keep it safe and don’t lose it.
Check mark the box and click on Next button.

Here give your working alternative number. And click on Next button.
Now again click on the Next button again and then click on the Turn on 2-step verification button.

Click OK.

That’s it ! Now you have been added 2-step verification security to your Gmail account. Now whenever you will enter your password it will ask you to enter verification code without it you won’t be able to login to your Gmail Account.

How to Temporarily Lock your PC when Someone Enter Wrong Password

When you are away from your desk somebody (colleagues,friends) may try to login into your computer by guessing your password.We will use windows security settings to temporarily lock your computer if wrong password entered more than couple of times.This will make it harder to guess your password as after 3 wrong passwords your system will get locked for 30 minutes

How to Lock your PC when After Wrong Password Attempt:-

In the Start up search box type Local Security Policy and press enter.

From the left window pane expand Account Policies and select Account Lockout Policy option in it.
Now in the right window pane look for the Account lockout threshold option and double click on it.

A new window will be open and give the value after how many invalid password attempts you want to lock your computer.

Click on Apply button and a window will be open telling you Account will lock down for 30 minutes. You can also change the time settings by clicking on the Reset account lockout counter according to your need.
Now click OK.

That’s it. Now your computer will be temporally locked for some time that you had set in the settings when someone will enter wong password.

Customize Google Search Results in Firefox

GoogleMonkeyR is a Firefox plugin that gives you the liberty to customize google search results.It has some great features that improves the search interface.You can display results in multiple column which will display more results in your screen (reduce scrolling).
If you are annoyed by additional links which display in search results like Related Searches ,Sponsored links ,Search Tools etc they can also be removed with GoogleMonkeyR.It also gives the option to Disable Google tracking (tracking of your searches) and lot of other features.

Customize Google Search Results in Firefox:-

First of all install Greasemonkey Add-On to your Firefox browser.
Click on Add to Firefox and then on Install Now button.

Now Restart your Firefox and you will see Greasemonkey icon adjacent to your Address bar.
Now install GoogleMonkeyR userscript in it. (Remember this will only install if you have installed Greasemonkey in Firefox).
For installation open the above link, click on Install button.

Now you will see a message displaying GoogleMonkeyR installed successfully at the right bottom of your screen.

Now here is my search result that I got before installing this add-on.

To customize your search result click on the Greasemonkey button and under User Script Command click on GoogleMonkeyR preferences.

Now customize your Search result according to your need and click on Save Preferences.

Now Refresh the Page. It will be like this.

That’s it. You can also Disable GoogleMonkeyR any time to get back to your default search results.
