Uniknya Metro Guangzhou di Line 1 ialah setiap 16 stesennya mempunyai desin dan konsep yang berbeza-beza. Walaupun pada asalnya idea ini sangat unik dan kreatif, namun pihak pengurusan terpaksa menanggung kos selenggaraan yang tinggi. Line 1 telah mula beroperasi pada tahun 1997.

Kini, pihak Guangzhou Metro Corporation sedang melakukan proses naiktaraf dan baik pulih fasiliti di semua stesen-stesen di Line 1. Salah satu objektif yang mahu dicapai adalah agar semua stesen mempunyai desin yang sama dan seragam. Olah mereka lagi, untuk jangka masa panjang, keseragaman stesen memerlukan kos selenggaraan yang lebih rendah.

The Guangzhou Metro Corporation has announced an investment of 92.77 million Yuan on revamping the interior of all stations along line 1. The need was initially brought to light by a student from Guangzhou No. 16 Middle School by collecting passengers' signatures. The case soon aroused a discussion between the masses and the metro company.

The metro's line 1 was put into operation in June of 1997. Its design is unique and the differences are recognizable because the "one station one design" motif has only been in place since the building of line 2. After 14 years of operation, some wall tiles have been destroyed and the facility is aging.

The diversification of design increases the cost of daily maintenance. This time the three-year construction is planned to change all the line's 16 stations into one style and one color, making it safer, economic and conformed.

The metro company, a state-own enterprise, claimed all the money will be funded internally. The renovation, including replacing the tiles on the faces of walls and pillars, renewing fire hydrants, moving advertising LEDs as well as exchanging energy-saving lights and rebuilding ceilings. Handrails, drainage and vents will also be revamped.

The media and populace have questioned the cost of changing all the stations into one style. Media research tried to find decoration materials in the wholesale market and found it easy to fit the damaged walls. The metro company said the materials are similar but must be cut into the right shape. They consider the maintenance cost to be higher than the reconstruction in the long term.

Many people suggested that the metro invest money on improved services, such as installing toilets and elevators. In response the metro company said they only had about 96 million Yuan available for decorating line 1 and the duration of the operation is too short to renew utilities. The input will be an overall change of line 1. Some stations have nearly finished their reconstruction.

Did you notice there are TONS of blogshops nowadays? It's like a trend or something. I'm not talking about "personal blogshops" like my Shopper's Sanctuary. Most of the items there are either pre-loved or items that I purchased from the stores myself and later decided I don't want them anymore. It's mainly a place to get rid of my unwanted stuff.

I'm talking about blogshops that sell brand new clothes, bags, accessories, baby apparels, shoes, toys, etc. The kind that looks like they come straight from a factory or something - like if they're selling clothes, they come in a few sizes, colors, etc.

Some blogshops even sell the exact items like baby apparels and I've always wondered where the heck did these people get them from?? And how much profit do they actually make because most of the items are so cheap!

I was surprised to find out that you can actually make a lot of profit by selling stuff online. I'm not just saying 100% profit - much much much more than that! But not many people are making a lot of profits tho. According to a survey conducted at BisnesBorongChina.com, from 128 respondents, 69.8% are doing business with a profit margin below 50% and only 6.6% have profit margin over 100%. Peniaga-peniaga Cina di Malaysia sudah lama ke Negara China untuk mengambil produk dari sana dan dijual di negara kita. Lambakan barangan dari Negara China sangat ketara kerana China sudah menjadi Negara perindustrian utama dunia. Seluruh dunia bertumpu ke sana termasuk jenama-jenama besar antarabangsa seperti IKEA. Ini kerana kos menghasilkan sesuatu produk di China adalah jauh lebih murah.

Peluang di sana amat besar dan amatlah rugi jika usahawan Melayu Islam tidak mengambil peluang ke China. Masih ramai peniaga Muslim mengambil produk dari pemborong di Malaysia dengan harga yang tinggi dan margin keuntungan sangat kecil. Ada antara peserta-peserta kursus kami yang mengeluh untuk meneruskan bisnes masing-masing kerana pulangan yang minima. Fenomenan ini kerap berlaku terutamanya kepada peniaga-peniaga kecil dan peniaga sambilan yang menjual produk di kedai-kedai online.

Guangzhou 102 @ Trip Borong China

Mereka dapati ramai kenalan yang kecewa kerana tidak tahu untuk ke China semula setelah mengikuti trip memborong ke China. Teknik “melancong ke pasar borong” adalah kurang berkesan untuk peniaga yag mahu membina perniagaan jangka panjang di negara China. Ini kerana para peniaga dibawa dengan bas tempahan khas ke pasar-pasar borong. Mereka sebenarnya melancong dan tidak benar-benar menguasai asas sebenar untuk berdikari ke China apabila datang semula sekali lagi.

Maka Great Minds melihat peluang itu dan memberi nafas baru kepada trip borong ke China yang mereka kendalikan, atau lebih dikenali sebagai Guangzhou 102. Mereka memperkenalkan konsep “Survivor Mode” yang mana para usahawan diajar untuk bergerak di Guangzhou dengan menggunakan kenderaan awam utama iaitu Metro Guangzhou.

Sistem pengangkutan Metro di Guangzhou adalah sangat kompleks dan setanding dengan negara maju yang lain. Sepanjang trip yang dijalankan pada tahun 2009 dan 2010, para peserta memberikan respon yang sangat positif dengan kaedah ini. Kejayaan manis yang dikecapi oleh tim Great Minds ialah apabila para peserta berkeyakinan untuk pergi ke Pasar Borong sendirian dengan menaiki Metro seawal hari kedua di Guangzhou. Yang paling membanggakan adalah ada peserta-peserta Guangzhou 102 sudah pun ke Guangzhou semula untuk membuat urusan perniagaan dan berjaya untuk mengaplikasi teknik Survivor Mode yang dibekalkan kepada mereka pada trip pertama bersama Great Minds. Ya, mereka semuanya tidak tahu berbahasa Cina dan mampu berdikari di sana!

Walaupun membuat perniagaan borong, jumlah peserta yang dikendalikan Great Minds bukan berskala “borong” bagi memastikan servis yang diberikan berkesan. Kelebihan & keistimewaan Guangzhou 102 adalah pendekatan yang dibawa jauh berbeza.

Logiknya pendekatan ini mungkin secara kasar dilihat merugikan Great Minds. Kenapa? Ini kerana Guangzhou 102 boleh melahirkan peniaga-peniaga yang mempunyai ilmu dan gerak kerja seperti mereka hanya dalam masa 4 hari! segala ilmu dan pengalaman mereka selama ini telah dipakejkan di dalam Guangzhou 102, dengan yg demikian kesemua peserta dapat belajar terus dari pengalaman dan kesilapan mereka selama ini. 2010 berakhir dengan sukses!

Alhamdulillah, tahun 2010 berlabuh tirai dengan pencapaian yang membanggakan buat Tim Great Minds. Syarikat kini dalam proses mengukuhkan posisi sebaris dengan syarikat berprestasi tinggi yang lain dalam usaha menghasilkan lebih ramai Usahawan Borong China. Usahawan yang mahu dihasilkan bukan sahaja cukup syarat pernah menjejaki kaki di Guangzhou, tetapi mampu untuk pergi semula ke Guangzhou tanpa memerlukan pemandu pelancong dan jurubahasa untuk menguruskan bisnes.

Ya, kami sudah lihat hasilnya!

Kami yakin lebih ramai lagi usahawan di luar sana yang dahagakan ilmu untuk menguasai Guangzhou secara "Survivor Mode". "Survivor Mode" adalah tunjang kepada program Guangzhou 102: Trip Borong China yang dikendalikan Tim Great Minds. Lebih ramai usahawan yang tahu untuk bergerak sendiri di Guangzhou menggunakan kenderaan awam, lebih ramai Jutawan borong China dari kalangan Muslim Bumiputera yang bakal dihasilkan, Insya-Allah.

12 graduan Guangzhou 102 baru sahaja selesai menjalani "camp Survivor Mode" di Guangzhou selama 4 hari 4 malam. Sewaktu di Lapangan Terbang Baiyun, kami ketemu sekumpulan usahawan Muslim Malaysia yang datang dengan tujuan yang sama. Bukan niat mahu membuka aib mana-mana pihak, namun realiti yang berlaku kepada mereka wajar dihebahkan agar tidak berulang kepada orang lain. Wang yang dilaburkan bukan sedikit, tetapi ribuan dan pengalaman serik yang mereka rasakan adalah akibat perbuatan tidak bertanggungjawab pihak yang mahu menangguk di air yang keruh. Apa yang mereka alami adalah sama seperti yang diceritakan di sini. Kami akan kongsikan kisah mereka di dalam Kursus Borong China: Guangzhou 101, 15 Januari ini. 3. Kami membuat "personal coaching" bagi usahawan yang sudah mempunyai target tertentu. Sebagai contoh Usahawan A mahu memborong alat tulis (manakala peserta yang lain tidak berminat untuk mencari alat tulis). Seorang trainer akan menemani Usahawan A ke Plaza Borong Alat Tulis dan mengajar cara-cara untuk ke sana menggunakan Metro. Hari-hari seterusnya di Guangzhou jika Usahawan A mahu fokus untuk mencari pembekal alat tulis, beliau boleh ke sana sendirian tanpa terikat untuk mengikuti program yang telah kami atur.

4. Kami akan kenal pasti target barangan para peserta (jika ada) sebelum menyusun jadual di Guangzhou. Majoriti peserta mahu belajar cara-cara ke semua Plaza Borong dengan menggunakan Metro. Hanya sebilangan yang sudah mempunyai perniagaan yang mahu fokus kepada satu-satu Plaza Borong sahaja. Memandangkan kami mempunyai 2-3 trainer pada suatu masa (bergantung kepada jumlah peserta), maka kami boleh berpecah kepada kumpulan-kumpulan yang lebih kecil untuk bergerak di Guangzhou.

Among Malaysians, Beijing and Shanghai are probably ringing "more" bells than Guangzhou. Therefore, we would like to take the honor to introduce you the metropolitan city of Guangzhou or famously known as Canton.

Guangzhou is located in the Southern part of China, in the Province of Guangdong. The weather is not too hot neither too cold, hence it is known as The Flower City. This world class trading hub is very populous. It is estimated that there are 6 million people residing in the city. Geographically, Guangzhou city is part of the Pearl River Delta. The time zone is similar with Malaysia, UTC +8.

What is Guangzhou famous for? Of course, none other than the China Import and Export Fair or better known as Canton Fair. The international event was first initiated in 1957 and held twice a year, April and October. There is where manufacturers all over China gather to meet up with their prospective clients from around the globe. These time of the year are considered as "peak-season" and hotels rates will increase higher than usual.

Transportation system in Guangzhou city is very well interconnected. Local mostly travels via Metro and Buses. The underground Metro is very efficient, clean, very convenient and a "yuan-saving" way to travel around the city. More on Guangzhou Metro can be found here.

From Malaysia, we can reach Guangzhou by Malaysia Airlines and Air-Asia. The pit stop is of course the modern and lavish Baiyun International Airport in Huadu District. It takes around 4-hour journey from Kuala Lumpur to Guangzhou. Weather in Guangzhou

Guangzhou weather during its hot season (May-September) is typically like Malaysia which is on average of about 30 Degree C. The cold season starts towards the end of the year till Spring in April. The lowest temperature is relatively equal to the night time at Cameron Highland. It can go as low as 10 Degree C from December to January.

Rain showers are frequent during hot season. When we were in Guangzhou last July, the weather was very hot during the day and towards the evening, the rain began to start. Since we traveled by Metro most of the time, we definitely requires an umbrella. But the good new is, it's not hard to get one as you can buy it (very good quality, highly recommended) at the Metro station itself for RMB20 (roughly about RM10). Very convenient!

To those who are joining us to Guangzhou this December, you may need to bring along your sweater/wind-breaker/sweatshirt. The trick is to wear many layers (3 at most) of different tops (and lightweight) instead of wearing one bulky cashmere wool coat (with shirt inside of course). This is because, the marketplaces are well heated. We just need the warm clothing when we walk from the metro to the Wholesale Plaza, to and fro.

Although Eugene (Евгений in Russian) is only 29 years old, he already ranks ninth in the list of commercial elites published by the Russian magazine Finans. Surprisingly, he is the only one on the list who made his money abroad, and the place he chose to settle in was Guangzhou, China's manufacturing center.

Eugene's parents were solicitors and both he and his sister majored in law at university. He originally intended to become a lawyer in Russia but his passion for China took him down a very different path. It all started when he was fourteen years old. During the summer holidays he traveled to Heilongjiang Province, an eight hours journey from his home in Khabarovsk. Surprised at how cheap Chinese bicycles were, he bought four bikes that he then resold five times the original price. Seeing so much money, his mother at first suspected him of stealing. This initial trip led to many more and soon this small business was earning him more money than his mother's annual salary.

At sixteen, Eugene had the opportunity to study Chinese for two years at the Northeast Agricultural University in Harbin. Finally in 2004, together with a friend, he started a logistics company in Shenzhen. When his partner decided to leave China in 2006, Eugene moved to Guangzhou to make full use of the city's complete industrial supporting facilities and advantages concerning prices and marketing channels.

Today, his consulting firm has become a bridge between Russian merchants and Chinese markets. With six branches in large Chinese cities such as Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Shanghai, his parents' initial disappointment has given way to a strong feeling of pride.

Q: How much money can I bring to China?

Q: I'm working and my annual leaves are limited. Can I join this trip?

A: This trip is suitable and tailor-made for those who are still working full-time. We understand your constraints as we're too, facing the same issue. (Except for Tuan Shuaib who are working for GMTC round the clock) For your information, the trip is designed to be just 4 days and 3 nights (or at most 4 days 4 nights) and that includes weekend. You just need to take at least 2 days leave and at most 3 days if you're within Lembah Klang vicity.

Q: Will I get my deposit back if I decided not to join the trip to Guangzhou?
A: No. Please plan well and read the clause in the form before paying your deposit for both Guangzhou 101 and Guangzhou 102.

Q: Can I travel to China by Malaysian Airlines (MAS) because I have lots of Enrich Points to redeem?

Alhamdulillah, Guangzhou 101: Kursus Borong China has successfully completed last Saturday. 9 highly committed entrepreneurs are very happy with the course and many gave 5* and 4* rating in our feedback form. Thanks a lot for the constructive and positive comments as well as the generous praises!
