Camouflaging a Bandage

The only time I’ve been so obsessed with bandages was when I spied the jewel encrusted Cynthia Rowley’s Limited Edition. This Chameleon Bandage takes the concept of band-aid protection a notch higher by becoming literally invisible. I suppose there must be some chemical elements to it. However the designers have not clarified it as yet. Imagine how cool will it be to sport a bandage that blends with your skin tone, especially for those awkward places on your chin or cheek! Me wants one now!

Lit Motors is based out of San Francisco, and is headed up by industrial/automotive designer Daniel Kim. Kim and his team have developed a sleek vehicle called Lit C-1 – a small, single-seat electric urban vehicle. The C-1 uses electronically-controlled gyroscopes to remain upright even in the case of an accident. This gyroscopically stabilized electric urban vehicle combines the efficiency and small size of a motorcycle with the safety and durability of a car. It can be charged up in six hours, has a top speed of 120mph, and the battery provides enough autonomy for 150 to 220 miles. It will be available in 2014 and will sell for $12,000 to $16,000.

Designer: Jaka PlešecThere are times when rescue workers and policemen have to work in darkness or low-light conditions. To make themselves visible and even to the extent of working as a human traffic signal, we have here the Tex-vest concept. The jersey is equipped with LEDs in green, red and yellow, depicting the traffic signal colors. Using specific hand movements the arrows and colors can be manipulated. I like the fact that it is interactive, viable and can help police officers regulate traffic.

Tex-vest is a joint research project between the Berlin Weißensee School of Art (KHB) and the Textile Research Institute Thuringia-Vogtland e.V. (TITV)

Mumbai: It’s time for Shilpa Shetty and hubby Raj Kundra to learn the art of changing nappies as their bundle of joy arrived early Monday morning.

The Bollywood actress delivered a healthy baby boy in a hospital in Khar, Mumbai.

Talking to a leading daily, a source close to the Kundra family said, “The baby and mother are doing fine. Shilpa`s husband Raj Kundra was by Shilpa`s side from the beginning till the time she was admitted till her delivery at the break of dawn. It was only after he saw the baby that he finally left home to go and rest. Raj and his family and Shilpa`s entire family, including mother Sunanda and sister Shamita, were present. Dr. Kiran Coelho delivered the baby at a healthcare hospital in Khar. Though Shilpa was due any day, on Sunday she had gone for a normal check up but the doctors admitted her immediately as the contractions had begun.”

Shilpa married Raj, a London based business tycoon three years back and are celebrating their first born with the greatest joy.

Events leading to this match: Daniel Bryan earned this title shot by winning having the best time in a series of Beat the Clock Challenge Matches. He defeated WWE Hall of Famer Jerry Lawler in his Beat the Clock Match.

World Heavyweight Championship: Champion Sheamus vs. Alberto Del Rio vs. Chris Jericho vs. Randy Orton
Events leading to this match: Alberto Del Rio earned this title shot by beating Sheamus via disqualification in a match on the SmackDown which immediately followed WrestleMania. Even thought that victory was via disqualification, the rules of the bout stipulated that Alberto would earn a future title shot with any type of victory. A few nights after this match was announced, Alberto teamed with Chris Jericho to take on Sheamus and Randy Orton. Due to a post-match brawl which took place in the office of John Laurinaitis, the General Manager decided to add Orton and Jericho to this match.

Rules of the match: If John Laurinaitis loses then he will be fired. In addition, this match can only end via pin fall or submission, there can be no special guest referee named for this match, and any WWE Superstar that interferes in this match will be fired.
Events leading to this match: For years, John Laurinaits worked behind-the-scenes as the Executive Vice President of Talent Relations. Last year, he became the General Manager of RAW and at WrestleMania XXVIII he added the title of General Manager of SmackDown to his list of jobs. One of the first things he did with his new-found power was sign Brock Lesnar and tried to make him the new face of the WWE. While John Cena was able to pin Brock Lesnar in their match at Extreme Rules, Cena suffered an arm injury that resulted in him having to wear a sling. The following night, John Laurinaitis announced that he would be fighting John Cena at this show and with the aid of Lord Tensai, they further aggravated Cena's arm injury. Since then, John's arm injury has healed and should not be a factor in this match.

Divas Championship: Champion Layla vs. Beth Phoenix
Events leading to this match: A few nights before Extreme Rules, Beth lost the title to Nikki Bella. She was supposed to get her rematch at that show but she wasn't medically cleared to compete. Layla, who had been out of action for close to a year due to injury, made a surprise return at Over the Limit and won the title from Nikki Bella. Beth was granted this title shot because she had never received her title rematch after losing the title.

WWE Tag Team Championship: Champions Kofi Kingston & R-Truth vs. Dolph Ziggler & Jack Swagger
Events leading to this match: Kofi and R-Truth recently won the title from Primo & Epico and this will be their first defense of the titles. Since losing the titles, the former champions signed became All World clients and their new representative, AW, has said that he will invoke their rematch clause when the time is right.

Zack Ryder vs. Kane
Events leading to this match: This match will be taking place on Youtube.com during the pre-show for this event which begins at 7:30. The issues between these two men dates back several months when Kane destroyed Zack on several occasions which resulted in him being temporarily wheelchair-bound.

The design utilizes both analog and digital parts. All the gears, rotors and needles are analog but they are controlled digitally to precisely keep time right down to the millisecond. Quite impressive.Shift Hybrid is a watch based on automotive engineering featuring elements like disc brakes, speedometers, seat belts, and gear shifts. The materials used are also found in cars. Parts like aluminium, carbon fibre, stainless steel, rubber, and glass. Take a look after the jump and see if you can spot all the automotive influences.

DJ Play That Music! JBL DUET II Review

One thing I’ve always loved about JBL are their futuristic designs. The DUET II looks like two high-tech footballs on display. The entire front of each speaker is covered with a mesh grill hiding the decently powerful drivers. On top of the right speaker is the volume dial that glides smoothly with just a touch. There are no treble or bass controls but the DUET II was meant to be extremely simple and totally plug-in-play.The original DUET was a hit with many enthusiasts looking for a complimentary computer speaker system without breaking the bank. JBL went at it again with the new DUET II. New look, new specs and still affordable, but how does it perform? Hit the jump for my review.

The mid and high ranges are crystal clear with only slight distortion if you crank the volume all the way up. Bass is a little deficient for my tastes but some slight tweaking in your computer’s or MP3 player’s audio settings can compensate. The DUET II is compatible with anything that’ll accept a 3.5mm audio jack. I had my flanking my laptop. At nearly 11″ tall, they’re certainly noticeable but the design easily blends in with my Macbook Pro. From the rear, the high gloss black finish belies their function that is until you look at the base…

There are way too many cables. It’s the basic set-up we have to put up with any budget desktop speaker system. There’s one that connects to the audio source. Then there are two separate cables for each speaker and finally a power cable. They’re extremely long so if you aren’t an organized bee, you’ll soon find a tangled mess behind your computer.

At under $99 from Amazon.com, the DUET II offers a lot of value especially in today’s budget busting economy. Every genre of music sounded great coming thru clear and crisp. Stuff like hip-hop and electronica lost some of their luster with the anemic bass response but I suspect only audiophiles will hear it. But for gaming, watching videos, and even video chatting – the DUET II are an amazing set of speakers.

What we liked:

Not too big or small. Perfect sized footprint

Easy to use volume control

Priced to fly out the door

Tandem is a storage space, a seat and a side table all at once. It just depends on how you use it. Multifunctional is the name of this game. Store your laptop, phone, books and magazines inside the cubby holes. A work top rotates 360º to become a quick workstation and use the whole thing as a stool too. Made of white oak, it imparts a sense of refinement. The wood isn’t heavily treated. The core however is made of aluminum to provide strength. Like it?

Honda Reveals Hydrogen-Powered Hot Speedster

UPDATE: Honda denied my request to borrow the FC Sport. Updates as they happen.Yesterday Honda revealed their modern shot at a hydrogen-powered vehicle. Progress on at least the green front, but look at that jet on the back! The Honda FC Sport is straight out a certain “Speed” cartoon-to-movie. V-Flow fuel cell stack and electric drivetrain from the FCX Clarity. Three seater, similar to the McLaren F1 supercar, the driver sits front and center while the two passengers sit on either side of him or her. I’ll be borrowing this tomorrow for it’s supreme race on die Autobahn.

The Audi’s e-bike Wörthersee looks futuristic at the very first glance and it’s neither a conventional bike nor a pedelec, but is best described as Audi’s high-end pedelec made for fun, tricks and sports. “The Audi Wörthersee is a bike for tomorrow and beyond; all its components, including the pedals even have been shaped by the master Audi designers. With its radically-light carbon-fiber frame that weighs only 1.6 kg and wheels made from CFRP that weighs only 600 grams, it is described to be one of the lightest e-bikes with an overall weight of only 21 kg. In all, the e-bike Wörthersee exemplify the full-extent of the Audi’s expertise in ultra-lightweight construction. Further, this e-bike also sports on-board computer which is located in the frame top tube and is operational using a touchscreen. Student of the Munich University Slavche Tanevsky decided to take the design of Lamborghini Reventon to the next level and give it a more aggressive and unique design. And created this aggressive mixture between the Reventon and a batmobile called Lamborghini Ankonian. The car features OLEDs embedded between the surfaces which function as headlights and has a garnishing of GT proportions. The Lamborghini Ankonian gets his name from a bull type famous for black hair and in order to get this impressive look, its designer got some help from other professional designers from Lamborghini and Audi.
